My wife and I decided to try this place as I love good Cajun food. We weren't disappointed. The hush puppies were cooked perfectly. I like the sauce that came with them. My wife ordered fried chicken. As she wanted two legs, they accommodated her request. They also asked that it will take about 15 minutes is that okay as they didn't have any ready for cooking. We were very impressed with this type of customer service. I had the crawfish étouffée. It was done perfectly. The spice was great. It reminded me of eating in Southern Louisiana. Wow. Hidden gem of a delicious cajun restaurant. We went to the Magnolia market during Spring Break 2018 and there was much to be desired for more food options aside from long food truck lines and forever waits to only have room to eat on a curb. So I relied on my yelpers and they did not disappoint! Ordered then waited on the food on the cute patio, which I assume is more lively in the evenings than the day, but still enjoyable. We started with the fried corn which was good but not amazing. I ordered the creole fried shrimp which was cooked to absolute perfection but there was little to no cajun flavor in the crust, which was slightly too thick. That being said it was probably the 2nd best fried shrimp I've ever had. Next we tried the boudin balls which I found to be very boring, nobody at the table was impressed and we did not finish them. My friends had the crawfish poutine and everyone agreed it was tasty. The stuffed jalapenos were delicious, but that was to be expected. The seating is outside only, you order outside at the front of building which is a little awkward. The seats are picnic tables, no back support and hurts your butt. I see a lady, who i assume to be the owner, is interactive with the Yelp reviewers which I much appreciate, also she is super hot. lol. Luckily for me my wife never reads my reviews. If this place were in DFW then I'd probably give it a 4 star review but Waco's food options have always been very sad. Overall I had a good experience and will be back eventually to try the other foods and probably buy some more fried shrimp. read more

The old Krispy Chicken place at this location was good, but the new Cajun chicken joint is fantastic. Definitely the best fried chicken I've had in Waco, and a really fun atmosphere with the patio. Excellent food! Our family of 5 ate here for the first time today. Fried chicken was out of this world, served with fries (good, not much Cajun spice) and mashed potatoes. The crawfish etouffee was very good--on par with N.O. versions. Jambalaya was very tasty but seemed "dry" compared to most. Fried pickles were awesome as well, and the fried shrimp basket did not disappoint. Only two criticism were the cramped sitting space made it tough for Grandpa, so we sat outside, but cleaned some bird droppings on tables and chairs. Tried this place for the first time, didn't know it existed. Near downtown in little rougher part of town, but closest enough to some new construction nearby that soon should be joined by more shops and the like. Inside was a little small where you order at the counter, but adjacent where we sat was a nice covered indoor back porch area with a/c and outside seating as well. Anyways I order off the lunch special menu, where today was two piece fried chicken, two sides and a drink for $8.00. Not bad. I requested dark meat, and it was delicious. The chicken I got, a nice big thigh and large drumstick we're well seasoned and the batter was nice and crunchy. The meat was very juicy. My sides were loaded mashed potatoes and green beans, which were very good. Loaded mashed has cheese and bacon bits. The green beans had sliced bits of bacon amongst plentiful deep fried onion bits, like on a green bean casserole. So good. There were two hush puppies which had a nice spicy kick. Another Yelp find that did not disappoint. The outside is non-descript and the area at first glance seemed a bit dicey. However it is only a few blocks from Magnolia market, in an area enjoying a resurgence. The inside was very nice, but space is limited. There was more patio seating, but too cold to enjoy. There is also an exterior pick up window. The menu is a mix of seafood and Cajun. We had Boudin balls to start, sharing the seafood platter and fried chicken. It was perfect, not greasy, just tender and flavorful. We also shared a bowl of Pho that was amazing. We took an order of Nutella and regular bread pudding to go, thoroughly enjoying it a few hours later in our hotel room. read more
