this place is fantastic. I haven't had a single bad meal here. I take that back, I haven't had a meal that wasnt really good to excellent. all their fried stuff is perfect, though the chicken is more bland than the seafood. all the Cajun options are terrific, from gumbo to poboys to jambalaya. the appetizers are so fucking good that sometimes I just order 3 for an entire day's worth of meals. AND, they have hands down the best pho in town. only gripe with that is the bowls are a tad smaller than I'm used to, and I wish they had the traditional side plate with all the toppings. another complaint is I wish they'd stay open later, but whatever. AMAZING!!!! A must try if you live or are around the Waco area. The Pho, chicken tenders, Cajunfries, catfish and crab stuffed jalapeños are bomb!! I can't wait to try other things on their menu. Clay Pot is the only other restaurant, in Waco, that sells Pho but it taste like beef stock. Gross!! This is now number one in my top 3 restaurants in Waco for sure. read more

The fried chicken is really, really delicious: crispy skin without excessive batter, and a breast that was moist down to the bone. I requested ketchup and hot sauce but didn't even open the packets, as the chicken was so tasty. Red beans and rice is a bit extra if ordered as one of the two sides you get with the meal, but well worth it IMO. Has chunks of sausage and bell pepper in it and has a lovely, home made taste, like you know you're eating *real* food. Sides are generously portioned. Overall a great value for the quality and quantity of food. Menu evolves (offerings of bread pudding and gumbo today), I will be coming back to try more stuff. read more

Much of the menu is fried, and the batter is not the right consistency. It was falling off the shrimp and fish like soggy toilet paper. The hush puppies on the other hand had such a thick layer, it was more crust than center. The corn on the cob wasn't bad, but too toppings heavy, could actually use less cheese. Very neat, intimate place. I ordered the shrimp basket and my wife got the seasonal special pho. Breading on the shrimp was prefect. Fresh, light, fluffy, yet crunchy batter giant shrimp... Not the tiny things. Fries were OK only though. Pho was actually really good. I've had pho from many places, and this could compete with some of the better places. What a find! Cajun fried shrimp was perfectly seasoned and fresh. The bread on the soft shell crab sandwich was homemade and the seasonings were perfect. Soft shell crab was fresh and lightly battered. Great food was topped off with sitting on a patio with just enough sun and breeze. We will return! read more

There were 4 of us from out of town and everyone liked their food (seafood platter and catfish atchafalya) but I think the best was the fried chicken platter. I normally don't eat very much white meat chicken because it can get dried out but this was outstanding! The chicken was hot and fresh, with the perfect amount of breading to give it a nice crunch without overwhelming the chicken. Definitely coming back for the chicken when in the area! read more

This is my first post ever. This is by NO means cajun food. I ordered cajun hot wings and I bit into the first with g and it was like they just fried the wing in oil. There was no seasoning. The oyster poboy was just some battered oysters NO seasoning. Last the crawfish poutine, how do I beat describe this dish, if I can call it that, HORRIBLE! PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME. Great little place that serves up some terrific Cajun food. We tried Cajun corn, hush puppies, corn bread, Boudin balls, fried shrimp & jambalaya. Boudin Balls are a great starter. Looking for something new after an early football game and recalled seeing a post on Cajun Craft so we headed there. The guys split a dozen oysters which were large and fresh. The girls split an order of fried shrimp and they were phenomenal! Cooked perfect with a great coating. The slaw with it was good as well. We will definitely be back! read more

First time here. A friend told me about it. Enjoyed the outside dining on picnic tables. Had boudin balls and cup of gumbo. Boudin for Waco was good. Doesn't have a strong flavor like that you get in Louisiana but was good! Really good seasoned dipping sauce and outside was perfectly crunchy. Gumbo has big chunks of chicken, sausage and okra. I grew up in Southeast Texas, and the one thing I miss is the food. This place definitely fills the void of amazing Cajun food. I had the Catfish Atchafalaya, and it was perfect. The sauce was flavorful, and the crawfish tasted fresh. The fried catfish was seasoned and fried to crisp and moist perfection. I know I'm saying perfect here a lot, but it really is. Upping my review to 5 stars. My first visit, I had the crawfish poutine, which was tasty but a bit swamped with the sauce. My second visit, I had the shrimp poboy, fried okra, and beignets, all of which were beautifully breaded and tasted great. It's a bit hard to find parking, and because the inside of the restaurant is small, you may have no choice but to sit on the outside patio (which has fans, but doesn't quite negate the Texas heat). Pho. Stop...they have Pho. That's amazing for a Cajun restaurant. Pho much better than clay pot. However when I went there wasn't a choice of bowl size and all the fixings were already in the bowl (basil etc)..usually you fix it yourself. Outdoor seating on the patio is cozy and inviting. Absolutely loved everything we ate. The fried chicken was of course delicious and all of the sides...from the coleslaw, potato salad, green beans, red beans and rice and Cajun fries were out of this world for such simple sides.
