Woo hoo! Major high-five-ness to the owner of Cajun Crawfish. We finally have a LEGIT crawfish place in North Houston. Since most of best crawfish places are in southwest Houston, I dread the drive so when I saw that this place popped up in the hood, my parents and I gave it a try. Result: Damn good. I like a thicker season-y sauce slathered on the crawfish. Would I come back? - Hell yes. What to get: 3 pounds of garlic buttah and shrimp fried rice Satisfied? - Yes. Instead of spending extra gas moneyI saved some gas money and spent it on another few pounds of crawfish for me and my parents to enjoy fully. read more

This is a strip mall joint that serves basic fried seafood and offers oysters. I was hoping for a traditional Cajun restaurant like Boudreaux's but was willing to give it a shot. They charged $3 for each can of soda. I ordered a "craft cocktail" canned margarita and was given a Lime-a-Rita. We ordered a fried seafood platter, some bowls of gumbo, and a dozen grilled oysters. Our server fired everything at once and brought the oysters out 20+ minutes after everything else came out. I told our waitress that the oysters were much too late and she told us dismissively to deal with it as oysters take much longer to make. She did not apologize or offer any kind of gesture to make up for it. Our bill was $71 for a lunch for three people. I won't be going back. read more

Used to be, if you wanted Asian-style butter-garlic crawfish, you would need to drive down to southwest Houston. No more! Now there's a great option on the NW side of town. I came here when it first opened more than a year ago. At the time crawfish was not in season made worse by the drought during that year. They served up some crawfish po-boys and a bowl of gumbo. Gumbo was good, but the po-boy was so-so. Wasn't too impressed so I skipped out of here for awhile. Crawfish is always a difficult option for me during lunchtime since I dont like walking back to work smelling like crawfish. Plus its next to pho restaurants which are always an easier option. This past November, I saw a sign that said "live crawfish" which I thought was strange. Always figured crawfish season started around February. Stopped by and got some crawfish to go (which was excellent). The crawfish were a bit small at the time but the owners told me crawfish season usually starts around November or December but most places don't offer them until much later. Decided to wait until Lent when the mud bugs got bigger. This past Friday, decided to do this as lunch. Walking inside, decor is pretty plain. Tables are setup so you can eat as messy as you want. Rolls of paper towel are on every table which is a must. Extra sauces are included, esp their habanero sauce for an extra kick. Ordered gumbo and 2-lbs of crawfish Asian-style. Food comes out quickly and I start chomping into my crawdads. Definitely bigger than before, a nice size perfect for a good amount of meat in each tail. The meat has soaked up enough of the garlic butter for that sweet flavorful taste. Of course you gotta suck head for a glob of that garlicky buttery goodness along with its guts. To me, it's plenty buttery as is, but you do have the option to dip it in more butter/mayo that's in the bottle on every table. I mixed up some cajun seasoning with lime which makes a nice citric dip. When dipping the tails separately with the habanero sauce, the spiciness kicks up a few notches to a whole new level. Combining the butter garlic with the habanero was reminiscent of tha whole shebang sauce at Boiling Crab. Oh this was such an awesome lunch. The gumbo roux was very salty, very brown, very flavorful. Has a bit of rice, shrimp, and crawfish. Wasn't as hearty as I would've liked, but no problem. Dumped a few fresh crawfish into the gumbo for a bitchin' good soup! While I still prefer Boiling Crab since everything is already mixed together to my liking, this is a great northside alternative which is perfect since I work and live closer to here. Now I could care less if I walk back to work wreaking of crawfish juices. read more

This place used to be my favorite crawfish place. Note the phrase "used to." This place is literally half a mile from my house so whenever I'm craving crawfish, it has always hit the spot. I think I've dined in once, but usually I carry-out. The past few times the crawfish has been TINY, and lacks flavor. For $5.99/lb, I don't expect the BEST crawfish, but I can drive 3 more miles to LA Crawfish and their crawfish is doubled the size, so I kind of do expect a little more. The crawfish doesn't come with anything so I always order extra corn. Today, they forgot it. Great. I can say this is no longer my to-go place and that I definitely won't be ordering from here anymore. Everything is good: the flavors, the crawfish, the crab, the shrimp, the fried rice, the corn, the potatoes, the service... All good. My parents were especially impressed with the fried rice, and, being Asian, they would know. I myself enjoyed the spicy Cajun seasoned crawfish as it was tasty and it made me sweat. My brother and my mom like the garlic butter mild flavor variety, and even they thought that was a tiny bit spicy, so judge for yourself. The bad things are: it may be a bit pricey, but most of these places are (but at least you don't have to prepare and clean up afterwards), and the gumbo is not good at all. I stopped here today because of the rave reviews regarding crawfish. I order the Cajun Crawler and the crawfish were decent. With this I ordered medium and they weren't very seasoned, but I asked the guy would they be season because I wanted regular not everything added to the top, he assured me they sit in seasoning and would be. Nope Nope Nope!! So to be fair I ordered two more pounds of spicy. They tasted the exact same; when I explained to the owner/manager how do they differentiate between spicy and all the other seasonings. He said we really can't! I was done! The best thing about them in my opinion was the snowcrab and the Mpact beverage! I've still not found anyone to top Atchafalaya in Pearland! read more

Great place for crawfish! The prices are one of cheapest I've seen from a crawfish restaurant. Not only is it affordable, but it's delicious! I think price per pound is $5.99 which is a really good deal for cooked crawfish. The service is great, the food comes out very quickly! I ordered the Cajun fries & the 4 pound crawfish deal. The Cajun fries were good, but not that Cajun. The crawfish was very favorable and the crawfishes were big. You get to pick the spicy level for the crawfish which is awesome, and tends to stay true to what you order. Only downside was that soft drinks come in cans, so no refills unless you have water or tea. Also, it's a small place so you may have to wait for a table. Luckily I came at a good time where there was plenty of space. Other than that, I will be returning for some awesome crawfish. read more

My husband and I enjoy going here for crawfish. The price is reasonable, not on the cheap side, but the quality is great. When we went on Saturday evening, there were plenty of seating (usually they get very crowded on weekends). The service was great! They were very attentive and made sure everything was taken care of. We had 3lbs of crawfish between the two of us. For us, the medium spice had perfect amount of spice - any level higher would probably be too spicy for us. read more

Overall it was good. The staff was a little rude, I was waiting on her to come out and tell us no we could sample. I had my camera ready to record the interaction. However she did come out with one. Although I don't eat crawfish my fiance was pleased with them enough for us to purchase from them. But the crawfish were good. Big due to this good season and the spice levels were good. I was in the area with my sisters and we've been craving for crawfish. Luckily we found this place and they have live/fresh crawfish. It was $7.99/lb and yes it is a bit expensive but totally worth it. We had the garlic butter flavor crawfish, shrimp and grilled oyster with scallion and garlic butter. Everything is great; crawfish, shrimp and oyster were cooked perfect with the sauce and super friendly staffs. read more

It was absolutely delicious! I ordered 4 lbs of crawfish, 2 lbs spicy and 2lbs medium. I've never ordered crawfish at a restaurant before so I didn't know how much one per can eat. I asked the lady over the phone the recommended serving size for one person and she said about 2 lbs per person. I said ok great I'll have four pounds. My husband and I destroyed that crawfish. There was a good mix of big pieces to small so I didn't feel unfair because some how the small one s hold more juice and seasoning. It was wonderful. The customer service was on point also. When I arrived at the door to pick up my order, the same lady I spoke to on the phone met me at the door with her mask and gloves, as did I. Safety first, right? She took my credit card and brought it back with my food. From phone call to pick up was about 20 minutes. It's only 3 miles from my house. Seamless process and it was delicious. Oh it came with one piece of corn, one potato and one half a link for each 2 pound portion. I don't eat sausage so my husband took care of that and I ate the corn and potatoes. I'm definitely ordering here again. It was about $32 bucks. I think it's $7.99 a lbs. read more

January 2015 - The restaurant was renovated and received new furniture. Nice red tables and new chairs and a decor was nicely laid out. This place has always served good sized crawfish, and their staff are very attentive to their customers. We always had a full cup of water, and our crawfish came out fairly quickly. Unfortunately, the market price for crawfish in January 2015 is a steep $7.99/lb. Supply and demand won our wallet that evening... The crawfish was pretty tasty. It was good to eat crawfish again. The catfish platter is pretty good if you don't feel like eating crawfish and a great value at $7.99. We hope to see the market price ease down a bit, but the Cajun Crawfish at Veterans Memorial is our go-to crawfish restaurant. I wouldn't mind a little background music instead of listening to the news. Maybe some zydeco playing lightly playing in the background, after all, it is cajun crawfish! read more

This place absolutely rocked for crawfish! Got 4lbs that came with sausage, potatoes and corn. Hot, spicy and not stingy on the size of the serving! Couple of coronas some gumbo soup with crab, shrimp and rice and bob was your uncle! Mama is not shy here nor are the customers! Place was packed! Peel eat and be in bliss. Ran by Asians but there has to be a Cajun back there somewhere steering the ship! Get on board and if your in the mood for Vietnamese soup there are places around there to that have great Pho! This has been one of the best places I've eaten crawfish at, hands down. Not only is the seasoning good, they also do not charge you extra for sauces and drinks. The staff is very pleasant and service is always on point. The restaurant itself doesn't have a lot of decor going on, but it's very neat and clean. Like any other reviews on this restaurant, I recommend getting spicy garlic butter crawfish and the fish sauce wings. With that being said, this is my new hotspot and I will no longer need to drive all the way to Bellair for overpriced, overcrowded and overrated crawfish restaurants. read more

I was craving mud bugs last night.. and since i've moved to this side of town it has been kind of difficult to find an awesome crawfish spot. I am so into the asian style crawfish and also very picky with it.. Anywho we walked in here, we were sat immediately, offered drinks, and got a few minutes to check the menu out.. They had crawfish combos which caught our attention and definitely got their 4lb combo with 2 corns, 2 potatoes , 2 sausages.. for $34.99,, we ordered their spicy garlic,,, OMG they were so good!! flavor was on fleek!!! delicious and the spiciness was just right. We had to order two more pounds. One of my favorite things is that they have the butter in a bottle and bring out little plates so u can dip your crawfish if you need to.. We didnt need to wave the waitress down they were amazing. Definitely coming back and will become a regular here!! read more

Best Cajun garlic butter flavor crawfish I've eaten and the most expensive. In 3 or 4 years it has gone from 5.99lb to 7.99lb and you have to pay extra for corn and potatoes. For $8 bucks it should include potatoes and corn. I will still go there just not as often. read more

I used to love this place. In fact, I've uploaded pictures of their awesome crawfish. Unfortunately, I revisited this establishment today, and I can not say that their standards are the same as last season. I am in no way (besides being a regular patron) affiliated with any other crawfish restaurant. This is my objective opinion: pros: crawfish is still $6.99/lb the tin foil containers are amazing they have very fast service cons: orders are not customized (though I requested "extra spicy" garlic, the flavor was bland) the crawfish aren't as big as they once were the seasoning, in general, is lacking. Overall, I never thought I'd say this, but NEWLA Crawfish is a better establishment. It was not last year, but this year they win by a longshot. Take the beltway, and deal with the bags (the way they package their product) because it's worth it. Sorry, Cajun C. You were my go-to place for crawfish for a long time, but you've fell off. read more

YOU ARE JUST A DOLLAR TO THEM! This is my first review EVER! I NEED ZERO STARS AS AN OPTION! This establishment treats their customers horribly. I've let a lot of things go with them in the past, but my experience took the cake yesterday. They are RUDE, COMBATIVE, and don't care about keeping their customer satisfied. After getting home and discovering HAIR in my food I called and told them I'd need my order remade or a refund a simple request right? Wrong! Long story short they refused to remake my order or offer a refund. I was asked why should they remake the order if ONLY the rice had hair. My husband drove 20 mins back and forth so by this time my $70.00 meal is cold. Why not? My family is supposed to eat cold food because of your negligence? They then told me that no one there has hair. Come on people, seriously? When I spoke over the phone the RUDE lady (who wouldn't share her name) told me she was busy, not remaking my food, and no refund and hung up in my face. Please go to an establishment that would respect you as a consumer. I spend money weekly in this place and this is the treatment I got. When I let Blake (the manager) know i was not pleased and I'd be letting others know my experience, he laughed and said ok. I've never felt so disrespected in my life. My consumer dollars keep your lights on, but I can't even get a problem resolved, a fresh meal? I was pleasantly surprised at how good this restaurant is! Especially considering the crawfish was frozen, which I knew going in. The flavors were great (we had the mild spice with garlic and butter sauce). The corn and potatoes could have been better but all in all it was tasty. Not sure if I came on a bad day, but the crawfish were not great especially being $7.99 a pound. They were overcooked and despite getting the garlic butter flavor, they tasted nothing of the sort. Corn had not a speck of seasoning and neither did the sausage, was not worth the extra $3.00 to get them. Besides the bad crawfish, my catfish basket was great... It was fried well and everything was seasoned well. Service was friendly and the restaurant was clean. Probably would only go back for fried seafood/wings and get my crawfish fix elsewhere. read more

We asked for spicy and they...were not. The size was medium to small but they just were not spicy. They offer a cajun seasoning you can sprinkle on but then they are too salty.
