Service: Service was extremely slow. It took forever for someone to come over and take our food order, and then we waited even longer for the food to actually arrive. Ambience: The atmosphere also felt off. The music was mostly pop and rock, which didn't really match the banda/norteño atmosphere you'd expect from a place like this. When you walk in, it also feels like everyone turns around and stares at you, which made it a little uncomfortable. The biggest issue was that in the middle of our meal, we were asked to move tables because a larger family was coming in. That was really inappropriate. Once customers are seated and already eating, they shouldn't be inconvenienced to accommodate another party. Between the bland food, slow service, uncomfortable atmosphere, and being moved during our meal, the overall experience just wasn't good. Unfortunately, I wouldn't come back based on this visit.

After a late night Costco run, I was starving for something beyond a hotdog or pizza. I looked on…read moregoogle for a close highly rated place that's not fast food. Louis's Hawaiian BBQ popped up. It's tucked away in a strip mall across from Azusa Pacific. Upon arriving there was no one there but a digital ordering stand. So many choices! I was craving the short rib and that bbq sweet beef. I ordered the Aloha Mix! Do it! It was so good! Is 3 meats with macaroni salad with a choice of white rice or fried rice. Their boxes are fully packed! Also tried chicken katsu, plenty of meat!

I ended up driving to the restaurant at 11:15am hoping I could place my order in person. The door was open and the open sign was even on, but once I walked in a guy in the back told me to "come back later" and stated they weren't open. He even told me to talk to his "boss." I don't understand how you can have the operating hours clearly posted yet turn customers away. Maybe just update your operating hours so it doesn't cause any inconvenience for others? I really wanted to pick up some quick food for a picnic and sadly it didn't happen. In terms of the food, they serve huge portions but I find the rice to taste pretty stale at times and they use heavy oil in all their dishes. I probably won't be supporting this business if there aren't any improvements. Customer service and food quality is going downhill. *After reading reviews it looks like the restaurant changed ownership and the new owners have no clue how to run a business. Customers beware!

My only complaint is that the shrimp still had the tails on. At $30 a plate, especially for a food truck where people are usually grabbing lunch on the go, I wish they were already removed--no one has time for that. The noodles are extra, but definitely worth it. They also offer a great variety of sauces. I don't eat out often, so when I do, it's more of a treat for me.

But I'm happy the food was just as good as I remembered. The beef rib melted off the bone... incredible. Their bbq sauce is yummy, a tangy, smoky, and a lil sweet. The chicken was juicy and had the delicious bbq sauce. I appreciate that they don't skimp on the quality of their sides either. The rice with gravy.. bomb! The corn on the cob... bomb! Not many restaurants have beef ribs on weekdays. These ribs were not dinosaur bones, but did the trick. I can get pork ribs anywhere, but to get beef ribs any day of the week? My kind of place! Meats were delicious and tender and covered with BBQ sauce. BBQ sauce was tangy and they have squeeze bottles of it to have at your table. Loved the mash potatoes and rice.
