I'm glad that this place finally opened! Late review, I know but coming to this place never fails to put a smile on my face. First of all, when you walk in, the owner who is a really nice lady, greets you with a big smile and is always ready to explain to you what the items are. Secondly, every dessert looks amazing and also tastes amazing. It's also obvious that she puts a lot of work into each thing. I know it's a pastry place but the banh mis are also to die for! I ordered a First Communion cake from the very expensive bakery down Louetta near Champion and they did not come through with a filling I requested ; with the exorbitant prices, I was expecting a lot more. On top of that, my guests didn't compliment the cake. It lacked luster. At Cakes and Mor I ordered a red velvet Birthday cake chosen by my daughter and the decoration was a beautiful compliment to the cake; it was as perfect as fondant but was frosting. I will trust my daughter to make more choices. My guests were thrilled, one mentioned it was moist and another asked where I ordered the cake. I personally loved the frosting. It was not overpowering ; the sweetness was very subtle . You' ve been warned. :) I also ordered a cheese cake that comes only in one size - I think a 10 round. It was very soft and had a great lingering curdy cheese tase and texture. Tuyen added some texture on top with whip cream but she also offered to decorate it or write HBD message on it. The only critique I have is that Tuyen needs someone at the counter for deli orders while she helps with the cake orders or come out from behind counter to open up books and offer 3 or more cake suggestions, I was impressed with her show books to sift through but I was more pressed for time so required more interaction with the baker. Other than that, her place is clean and she has nice messages on the wall about baking. All in all, I would recommend anyone to come in and order a cake for that special celebration. Tried the Napoleon and a lemon cake ball, and they were delicious. They selection isn't huge, and it hard to tell exactly what they have. The napoleons weren't available when I first went, but the woman at the counter helpfully told me they'd be ready later. I stopped by on a whim to get myself a treat, and I'm so glad I did! I wish I had gotten about 20 more of the Italian Cream cake balls because one was not enough. The lemon one was good as well, but tasted a bit like artificial lemon instead of fresh. Not trying to say anything bad about it; I still ate the whole thing, it just wasn't what I was expecting. I also got one of the large (maybe 3 inches? 4?) petit fours. I saved this for when I got back to my hotel room after dinner and it was the perfect late-night snack! It had a nice, light almond flavor and the perfect amount of icing. The lady there was very nice as well! She was clearly busy working on something in the back, but came out to greet me as soon as I entered the store and came out to the front again as soon as I was ready to order.
