In the recent rainstorms a Solatube that was installed at the same time, failed, and was leaking into a bathroom on a very wet Friday night. Carlos called me back almost immediately and came out to the house that evening, climbed up onto the roof in the terrible rain and made a temporary fix to get us through until a permanent repair can be done. I called Carlos on a Saturday afternoon to have him take a look at our roof after I discovered some water damage in the upstairs office. He called me back within 20 minutes and had Jesus come out to look at the roof. Jesus arrived 30 minutes later and quickly located the problem. The issue wasn't even related to the roof but he provided a temporary fix anyway to prevent any further water damage. I new they were a first class operation when they installed my new roof in 2018 but was blown away by how responsive they were six years later! Suddenly, I needed a roof. In the rainy season. Yikes. I called my client who has a dozen or more rental homes and she immediately sent me to Cal-Vintage. "And they have a showroom!" she said. I didn't think I needed a showroom. A roof is just a roof, right? How hard could this be? How wrong I was. I started looking at every roof in my neighborhood. Perhaps I would just copy my neighbor's to the right of me. I became overwhelmed and confused. Cal-Vintage made it easy for me to come in and look at options. My work schedule is impossible yet they made it work for me. Going in and seeing all the options and feeling the quality of the material made all the difference. We've used Cal-Vintage for two of our homes: In December 2023 made repairs to our house's roof in Rancho Murieta, a 35 year old Mediterranean style house with cement "barrel" tile roofing. For their repair estimate, they used a drone to take two dozen photos of the problem areas. They replaced 31 cracked and broken tiles; repositioned and secured tiles that had slipped out of place; resealed ridge peaks with mortar patch; cleaned out areas next to the chimneys and replaced worn, damaged felt paper. Work was completed in one day on schedule. Excellent, professional quality work for a fair price. In 2018, our Rancho Cordova home's roof had begun leaking in several spots and needed replacing. Cal-Vintage did the work with a high-quality composite shingle product and upgraded the gutters and downspouts. Their top notch crew did the work on the scheduled day in July, despite the temperature hitting 105 degrees that afternoon. We needed a roof inspection for a concrete tile roof on a home that we are currently under contract to purchase. Though we were working on a very tight timeline, Joel C. accepted our job and came out to perform the inspection just a couple of days later. Cal Vintage came out and replaced our entire roof last year after the massive January storms. They were quick, professional and we thought they did a good job. We are new homeowners and new to house renovations. When it came to getting our house painted, our general contractor and every painter who came out to give a quote said that some of our eaves were rotted, damaged and asked why they were not replaced with the roof. We called Cal Vintage back and they were quick to send someone out to inspect. However, we were told that the eaves are "just really old and not aesthetically pleasing, but not damaged". They replaced half of the eaves during the new roof installation but left the other half unreplaced. After initially declining to fix the issue, the owner called us back and reconsidered. Cal Vintage will be replacing the outstanding old eaves. Its never fun to call a company to come back out, but we appreciate Cal Vintage taking ownership of their work and providing good customer service. read more

If I could choose no star I would have. They charged me 10 times for a roof repair and since they said whole roof will be covered and we'll fix couple of leaks I accepted the cost. The repair took them couple of hours and I asked them why you charged so much for such a small job and they gave me discount since their original estimate was just too much. Now when I asked for a repair again before end of the warranty they said it's not covered and you need to pay. They are not honest and if you can stay away from this company. Update: The company's owner contacted me and send someone to fix the issue with no cost. I will update again after I made sure the repair was done correctly. read more

Right before the holidays several years ago, we noticed a large water spot on the ceiling and it was expanding quickly. We were having a lot of rain and we also had solar panels for our pool. Due to one of these reasons or both, we couldn't get anyone to come out. We were so desperate we actually went up and tried to tarp it ourselves. (Let me tell you, if you have not tried to lay a tarp on the roof of a two story house in the wind, it's kinda scary. I'm so impressed with what roofers do) My mom got my distress call and recommended Cal Vintage and they were able to get someone right out. Everything was great, unfortunately after we turned on the solar we discovered a small issue. It was undetectable until then. With one email, they were back out to our place to correct the issue. Needed a pretty extensive re-roof. Called several different roofing companies in the Sacramento area to set up estimates, including some the larger more visible names. I also received a recommendation from a neighbor to call a local family owned company, Cal Vintage. Was surprised to see some of these companies didn't even follow up with an actual estimate and were underwhelming in their professionalism. However, the estimator for Cal Vintage, Tony, not only delivered an estimate but went above and beyond with multiple estimates that included detailed descriptions of what they offered and the benefits of each product and service. He offered to answer any questions I had. The clarity and professionalism set them apart from the beginning. This professionalism and service continued throughout the entire process. They made it easy with each step and each employee I had contact with was very friendly and professional. I was told the job would take 4-5 days and they finished in less than 3 and left a clean job site. The quality of their materials, the workmanship, and the service were all excellent. Great response from this company. Joel came out and inspected our roof within a day after responding. Our roof had a very minor issue, but it could've led to major issues without a repair. I had contacted a few other roofing companies, and most of them either said the job was too small or they were booked for weeks. Joel even showed up early, which was great. We had a small leak in our sunroom roof and weren't​ quite sure what the cause was. We were recommended to Cal Vintage because of the type of roofing that was done on our sunroom. They were booked out 3 weeks for appointments but I must say it was absolutely worth the wait. The lady that helped me over the phone in their office was extremely helpful, kind, and went above and beyond to assist me. This was the first time we've ever had roofing problems and I had no idea what I was doing. When our appointment was scheduled Joel was very good at communicating when he would arrive and confirming the day/time. Joel assessed our roof and determinded it was just a faulty seal around a pipe causing our small leak. He quickly fixed it and was on his way. Cal vintage roofing is simply outstanding. I got three other estimates prior to calling them but but none of the other guys that came out seemed that reliable, and they made it seem like the repairs were somewhat urgent. When Cal vintage came out to give an estimate, the inspector, Joel, had the decency to let me know that none of the repairs was actually urgent, that and that in fact, my roof was in pretty darn good shape and probably doesn't need any attention for another 3 to 5 years. Then, a few weeks later at no charge, they helped me resolve an issue I had with one of the previous companies mentioned, where they came onto my property without my permission or knowledge and actually went up onto my roof when I wasn't home and did some "Repairs" and then tried to bill me for them!. Joel from Cal roofing very kindly (and at no charge) came back out to my house and took a second look at the roof to make sure that the trespassing roofer hadn't actually done any damage while they up there up there walking around on my metal tile roof. And by the way, Cal Vintage was the only of the four different companies I had look at my roof that did the inspection via drone, as opposed to walking on the roof. Metal tile roofs are very touchy and don't like to be walked on unless you do it in exactly the right way. Cal-Vintage is one of the only roofers in town (apparently) who have the expertise to service and repair metal shingle roofs. A local roofer who has previously done work on my roof put me in touch with Cal-Vintage when it came to time to service a roof valley on a metal shingle roof. Business was apparently booming when I called because it was going to be about 3 weeks before they'd be able to send someone out to provide a repair estimate. They took my name and number and promised to followup when their schedule became less impacted. (I was not expecting a call back because I am skeptical of these service waitlists, and I figured that I would have to followup with them myself since many companies in the current labor climate cannot be bothered to even return phone calls.) However, two weeks later I received a call from Jim to schedule a visit for a repair estimate. He provided a quote that was in the ballpark of what I was expecting so we agreed on a day to do the work -- the Cal-Vintage worker who performed the repair was courteous, professional and efficient. And with the recent rains, the repair was tested and was obviously done right. From beginning to end, Cal-Vintage has been very professional. My daughter lives in our rental and she found a leak in her ceiling during the heavy rains a week or so ago. On Monday I called Jim for a repair estimate and he was able to get right out there. According to my daughter, he was on the roof for 15 minutes and he had repaired the roof from a tile he had in his truck. He also advised her how to repair the ceiling. He declined to send me a statement and again thanked me for my service. As for the repair he did at my house four years ago, it still doesn't leak. Very Happy with the overall service from Cal -Vintage. From my initial call to set-up an estimation of my roof, to working with the skilled roofers. I must commend Guillermo and Octavio for their professionalism and skill. Plus their patience in working with me, since my roof is a very steep on a Victorian house. I wanted infrequently used colors, that Cal-Vintage procured as well as color coordinated valley metal and nosing, which required special fabrication. There were only two small issues, that I addressed with the supervisor Carlos. I felt that there should have been a clean-up/gopher person on the ground to keep the area around the house and into my neighbors yards tidy since they are so close. I also felt that a tarp or covering of some sort should have been placed at the ladder location on my deck to prevent damage and asphalt scraps from happening. Other than those two issues, the work was done efficiently, in a timely manner. Professionally, while addressing my requests, and at a very good value.
