I would never recommend Cal-Vintage roofing! I contacted Cal-Vintage roofing three weeks before their final determination. I was passed around to four different people and each and every time I had to reexplain the situation. For some reason they had to come to the home twice because they didn't get what they needed the first time. I found them to be very unprofessional and dragged their feet through the whole process. They finally told me three weeks down the line that they couldn't do the job based on facts they had from day one. All I wanted was our roof replaced and they wasted our time. I had their information in my files, and randomly showed up in their showroom one day after I received insurance termination notification on my original wood shake roof. In every aspect of the process and with every single employee, vendor, owner, and contractor involved they were each and every one respectful, informative, communicative, efficient. Contract was straightforward. Financial options quite accessible. Timing was a bit tight, with the 12/21 atmospheric river and holidays. When they tell you their lead time, listen, plan for it and don't expect otherwise. Completion and photos done for insurance prior to coverage ending with no lapse. I know they were pulling from other jobs because they committed to it and got it done. I cannot thank Cal-Vintage enough. it was my issue and they totally accommodated. Cost was in line. We were shopping roof contractors for nearly a year before we settled on Cal Vintage Roofing. Although the estimates were higher than most of the other contractors, we chose Cal Vintage because the initial salesman came out after the estimate to talk through a lot of the repairs we knew we needed in addition to the re-roof. I was disappointed that the initial salesman disappeared after we signed the contract to move forward, but nevertheless, the crews showed up on time, were efficient and maintained the outlined schedule. When the work was done, there were a few things that I pointed out to the site manager that I almost felt was shrugged off. The back gutters that were installed were dinged, showing multiple dimples, there was a piece of flashing missing in front as they did not extend the gutter as it was originally done, and one of the side peaks was pushed in during the final roof inspection. I recognize that some things cannot be undone once done without re-doing large portions. I wasn't stuck on having it perfect, but it would have been nice if Cal Vintage recognized the mistakes, and tried to make up for it one way or the other. Thank you for the sweatshirt Cal Vintage, but the shrug-off ultimately hurt my review, especially considering that we ended up paying approximately 15% more that the estimate. read more

My main issue with this company is that they can be flaky. First, there was a no-show for a scheduled roof inspection. No phone call to tell me that they won't be coming either. I had to leave work early so I could be there for the inspection. I waited, and waited. I even called their main number left a message that I'm home for the inspection. Nothing. Now, when a guy from Cal-Vintage eventually came, all he did was flying a drone over the roof for about 5-10 minutes. When it's done, the guy gave me his card, promised that he'll email me the photos and a quote "in a few days". Nothing happened after a week. I emailed the guy (that was 3-4 days ago). Nothing. Hello? ---------- Update: After I posted the review above, the president of the company contacted me right away. After that, I received the emailed inspection photos and the suggested maintenance/repair work and quote within a few hours. Thanks! read more

We had a small leak in our roof that was persistent. The leak was on a flat roof section, and apparently not all roofing companies will fix flat roofs! We got a couple quotes to come fix the leak, and Cal-Vintage was significantly cheaper than the other quote, so we scheduled a time with them to come fix the leak. Unfortunately, the representative didn't arrive as scheduled, and since it was a late afternoon appointment, we rescheduled for the next morning. He did the repair, but the next time it rained, the roof was still leaking. They included 1 call back if the first repair didn't work (like the other company we got a quote from), so we made a 2nd appointment. This time the fix moved the leak. I called back and was prepared to argue to ask them to come back for a third try even though their policy only included the 1 free call back. They didn't resist, and came out again. Unfortunately, the third time wasn't the charm. They came out a fourth time (no charge) and ran leak tests, pouring water in certain areas until they finally found the issue, and finally, the leak is fixed! Five Stars for going the extra mile to find the troublesome leak. read more

There was communication from start to finish. We had the opportunity to go to the showroom and see the product as well as a very informative video about the product. I was referred to Cal Vintage Roofing by a friend who was impressed with their work. I could not have been happier with the job they did for me. I have a large roof with a steep pitch and a garage. Every person I dealt with was professional, knowledgable, and thorough from the sales representative to the project manager to the roofing crew and admin folks. I like that, except for the roof tear-off crew, everyone is an employee of the company. It comes through in their professionalism. By the way, the tear-off crew they contract with was also great. Everyone cleaned up well every day, made sure I knew what to expect, and went the extra mile (for example, my tear-off happened on a Friday and they secured plastic sheeting over everything over the weekend although there was virtually no chance of rain). They even finished days ahead of schedule. I highly recommend them. read more

I recently purchased a home and during the initial home inspection one slipped tile was found. The company that did that first inspection gave me a quote of $750 to repair that issue and purchase a separate warranty of their work. This did not sit well with me that you have to pay extra for a warranty to ensure they do the job correctly and being new to tile roofs I decided to get more quotes. The next bid I received had the slipped tile repair and found miscellaneous expenses as well and the bid was over $2000. Another company was going to charge $80 just to do an estimate, so I didn't schedule them. Then comes Cal-Vintage who I was actually referred to by another roofing company that was very booked out. This review is specifically in regards to the amazing customer service that Jesse provided that day. During the estimate the only main issue he identified was that slipped tile and he chose to just put it back free of charge! I was in disbelief. I am not a return client, this was my first interaction with the company, so to receive that type of service really came as a very pleasant surprise. His only recommendation was to get my gutters cleaned every year at the end of the rainy season to maintain the roof. So I absolutely will be calling them in the spring to do this service for me and will be recommending them to anyone with a tile roof. Customer service like this is sadly rare now a days. I am so grateful that I got multiple bids and came across this company. I use yelp for everything so I am hopeful this review can help give a good idea of what type of company this is and to definitely give them a call. read more

I contacted Cal-Vintage roofing prior to us moving in (early March). Took a day or so to get a call back. When I did, they had Joel go out and take a look at the roof. He used a drone to capture the roof and provided an estimate based on what he saw in the video (included screenshots.) After some back and forth, they were supposed to come out and do the repairs (plus remove satellite dishes, outside screens and patch holes.) All did not happen. We showed up, the screens were still there, the ones that were removed were left on the ground and only 1 of the 2 satellites were gone. Another guy came out and didn't even finish the job. At this point, I'm not confident that ANY of the roof repair was done. I called the manager and asked for them to give us another drone video with screen shots (similar to the quote) to compare and ensure me that the roof was worked on. This call was more than two weeks ago and I HAVE NOT HEARD BACK. Very unhappy with them and the "service" they provide. Recommendation - GO with someone else or at least be there when they are to direct the work and make sure it is done. read more

Jim called us back immediately, and even with the companies tight schedule they made time for at least the inspection/estimate to be completed within 1 days time. I needed a partial roof repair and contacted two different companies to request an estimate, with CalVintage being one of the companies I contacted. Jessie came out he was courteous and professional. I explained what happened (a tree fell on my roof; which caused damage to one side of my roof and told him what I needed done. Jessie identified the damage, took the measurements and told me he would get back with me in about two days. I had a second roof repair company come out to also look at the damage and provide a quote. The second roof repair company gave me two estimates; one to repair the entire roof and a second one for partial roof repair. CalVintage estimate was $4835 (partial roof repair) and the second company was $1625 (partial roof repair). This was a difference of over $3200. After reviewing both quotes including work to be performed and materials everything was literally the same. I contacted CalVintage to verify if the quote was for the entire roof or partial roof repair and the quote was for partial roof repair. I am not saying CalVintage does not do good work; they probably do; but to receive a quote over $4800 for a partial roof repair is ridiculous. I always get estimates and read customer reviews before I get any repairs done. read more
