Calandra's Bakery in Fairfield defied my expectations with the WICKEDLY DELICIOUS Pop Up!!! Highlighting Wicked's Elphaba and Glinda!! I followed the "yellow brick road" upstairs where the "Pink goes good with Green" Wicked decor is like something found "over the rainbow"!! You definitely feel as if you arrived in the magical "Land of Oz"!! With "flying monkeys and witches" "oh my!!" The Wicked sound track resonated in the room! With "unlimited" favorite songs. The Server Paulina was AWESOME!! SPELBOUND SIPS Glinda's Pink Lemonade Shooter with pink glitter served in a heart cup! Elphaba's Sour Apple Brew served in a green class! TOTO'S BREAKFAST BASKET was so cute! And teeming with Cream-Filled Donut, Sfogliatelle, & Sweet Brioche Bun! Hot tea served in "Oz Emerald City Green"! Teapot & cup ! The DEFYING GRAVITY TOWER With pink plates Filled with the most delicious array of Calandra's sweet treats! Every bite was a spectacular indulgence!! "I have been changed for good!" Experiencing this "Popular" Wickedly Delicious Magical Pop Up! "Toss, Toss!" Unfortunately, I had to "click my heals" and say "There's no place like home!" With a to go bakery box from the "Popular" Calandra Bakery!! If you haven't made your paid in full reservation! What are you wait for!?! A personal invitation from the Wizard of Oz! Highest compliment to the creator's vision of Wickedly Delicious!! If you can't tell! My all time favorite movie is The Wizard of Oz and of course the Wicked movies! Absolutely LOVED this pop up! Definitely work my 2 hour drive to the pop up and 2 hour drive back home!!!

Ok so the fact that this bakery is open until 9 is incredible with a great seating area. It's decorated in wicked / with wizard of oz cut outs. So cute The bakery goodies were amazing. The 4 of us each got samples of different pastries, donuts, cakes and tarts and each was better than the next. Coffee bar was just ok but it was after 8 pm when we arrived so to be expected. But will definitely be back. My 13 yo loved the frosted donut. It was mini and she said it was sooooo good.

Calandra's is my newest favorite bakery. I would make the 20 minute drive for their delicious baked goods! I love the variety of their Italian cookies and pastries. We never leave without leaving with boxes of cookies! The customer service is excellent and they are always ready to help!

¡Ay, Caramba got Mad-Luv for Calandra's!! This place is loaded with freshly baked deliciousness everywhere you look. Counter after counter and display case after display case mouthwatering treats are just waiting to be grabbed up and brought home for special occasions or just any occasion. You know what, if you're bringing Calandra's with you it already is a special occasion, Lol. Anyway, it's pretty tempting and almost damn near impossible to leave here without experiencing some kind of Super Delicious Experience=  YUMMMMMMERS !! Family owned and operated, this outstanding business is so good that they're one of the largest local distributors of fine baked goods in Northern New Jersey. Their store is always super clean and staff here is always friendly, fast, and efficient. If you ever find yourself in the area stopping by this amazing place is a no brainer. Come And Get Your Bakery Munch On !!

It's a 15-minute drive from my home, and somehow, I was never here. I have been to this complex and tried other eateries around it, but I'm not sure why I have not tried this YET! nevertheless, we were here... All of the homemade breads are dynamite. From the cookies to cannolis, an assortment of cookies, pies, cakes, custom cakes, jarred sauces, and homemade pasta, this place is a feast for the eye We tried some chocolate cakes, cannolis, cheesecake, and Tres leches, and they had a great taste! Known for its Italian and French bread, Calandra's Bakery is a family-owned and operated business established in 1962 the second floor has dedicated space for cake testing too!

Although I didn't get to try the strawberry shortcake here, I did order a whole cake version to be delivered to a friend for her birthday via DoorDash. I clicked on the toggle indicating the order was a gift and was able to write a message that would be delivered to my friend via text. It was a rush order and I wasn't in town to enjoy it but my friend, the birthday girl, did. The bakery prepared the cake so beautifully and was so considerate (and instinctive because I forgot to request it) provided a happy birthday message on the cake. It was very thoughtful, so presentable, and per my friend, absolutely delicious. She's new to the area and I'm due for a visit; and we will be visiting to try the other goodies on the menu.

A long time traditional bakery in this area. As such, they have flourished and expanded as you'll find other establishments with the same name (Restaurants, etc.). Way too many choices when you walk in (and that's a good thing!). Hopefully, you are going to a party and you can order a box full of different items. My suggestion is that, if you do that, you get a knife and cut them up so you can have some of each. It's easy to get full if you eat the entire pastry or cookie, so getting samples of each worked great for us. They also have bread so if you're having sausage and peppers at your party, pick up some long rolls to make them amazing. Very clean inside, private parking lot that's easy to use. Be careful when approaching off of 46, the turn-in comes up quickly. Also, if you are in the mood for a quick slice of pizza, their neighbor has a very good slice. But, back to the bakery, definitely worth several tries so you can have a number of their delicious offerings. Hope you find the ones to fill your box and...enjoy!

After a delicious meal at Kebabs and Kurries, stopped into Calandra's bakery in Fairfield. A massive sized bakery that offers Italian and French pastries, breads, cakes, cookies, gelato and even doggy treats! The choices were so many it was hard to chose! Opted for a few mini tarts, lemon meringe, key lime, passion fruit all were fantastic their shortbread crust is perfect. Their tiramisu cup was ok, lacked that coffee liquor taste as it tasted more chocolate. The mini creme brûlées were disappointing as it was not fully set and watery. The ultimate choice was the raspberry and cream cookie tower. Fresh raspberries with sweet cream on a decadent shortbread cookie was perfect in every bite. Easter hot cross buns were soft and fluffy. Service was quick and courteous. A nice addition would be specialty coffees. Will return to try breads cookies and more items.

I was craving a cheesecake, so I went in and ordered a simple classic cheesecake. It was really good and creamy! We also ordered a custard chocolate mousse, but it wasn't our favorite. The service could have been better. We had to wait a little too long considering the number of staff available. However, once they attended to us, they were very friendly and attentive.

Worth the ride for authentic Italian bread, pastries, cookies, and cakes. Good service from employees and bright and clean facility. Mr. Calandra stopped by to visit while I was there. Regular, semolina, whole wheat, and rye are some options. Can ask for your bread to be sliced. Can request seeded or unseeded. Buy extra and freeze it. Shop early if you can, some bread sells out by afternoon. Bring bags or buy their reusable cloth bags for 50¢.

Since @BigDudesBigFoods was in #FairfieldNJ at @MonsterMiniGolf with H&O, we decided to get something sweet at @Calandras_Bakery Calandra's is huge. They have everything that you could think of in an Italian bakery. The staff was friendly, quick and plentiful. The boys love their cupcakes . Of course, they both chose ones that were bigger than their heads. H is a chocolate lover and O goes for color. Grandma and pop got a brownie and cannoli (not pictured). @calandrasbakery #CalandrasBakery #BigDudesBigFoods #SupportSmallBusiness #BDBFCertified #BDBF

Words can't describe how excellent Calandra's cake and pretzels were. After my last experience at Cucina I was skeptical, BUT my goodness. This cake was OUT OF THIS WORLD! The berries were fresh, the cake was moist and the whipped cream was fluffy and delicious. I highly recommend considering ordering from this highly acclaimed business, you will not be disappointed.

We actually arrived an hour before opening, but the owner -- who was sitting outside with another person -- greeted us with a big smile and invited us in anyway. He asked where we were from and spoke passionately about crafting his flavors fresh every day, using real ingredients. You could tell he genuinely cares about the experience. He offered us a sample of a dragon fruit flavor he was experimenting with -- it was light, clean, and bursting with natural fruit flavor. No artificial aftertaste, just smooth, refreshing perfection. We ended up ordering the pistachio baklava, and it was hands-down one of the best gelatos we've ever had. The pistachio was rich, nutty, and full-bodied -- not that artificial green stuff you get in most places. The baklava pieces added just the right amount of texture and sweetness, without overpowering the balance. It was creamy without being too heavy, and every bite made you want to slow down and savor it. There was also plenty of parking, and we got to sit outside to enjoy our treat in peace. We never felt rushed -- just welcomed and appreciated. We were so caught up in the moment, we forgot to ask his name -- but his kindness and passion won't be forgotten. This place is a gem. If you're looking for authentic, thoughtfully made gelato, this is it. We'll definitely be back -- probably with friends. *Update: We went back to Bosa Gelato last night and loved the experience even more. The place was very active and spotless, even during the final hour before closing. We shared a cone with strawberry and mint chocolate -- both flavors were delicious! The mint had a refreshing cooling effect without any lingering aftertaste, and the strawberry was perfectly sweet without being overpowering. The two young ladies working were super friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even more enjoyable. It was lovely to see the shop so lively at night!

Gym, Tan, Creamatory!!!!!…read more Summer time in Jersey is all about GTC, and not Gym, Tan, Laundry (GTL)... How can a summer be complete without indulging in a sinfully, decadent, velvety, creamy- ice cream... and this ice cream shop did not disappoint on ALL those levels. The owner, Joe, is a diabolical ice cream genius with the concoctions he has come up with. I have never in my life seen an ice cream menu to this extent ever before. When I heard about this spot I had to come and check it out for myself, AND I was blown away... hard ice cream, soft serve, coffee, floats, sundaes, milkshakes- your imagination can run wild here, and this place will still amaze you. Go big AND Go home... I had to "GO BIG" and get a 3 scoop waffle cone (Nutella, Funky Monkey and Cannoli). These were the flavors my tastebuds craved! The best part was the ingredients that went into each ice cream flavor. You can actually see the ingredients packed into each scoop... every bite bursted in robust flavor. With that said, I had to "GO HOME" with 3 different flavored pints. And, since then I've been eating ice cream everyday- SMH! I am sooo amazed by the Cookies-n-Cream. It's filled with soooo many cookies that it's not your average vanilla based cream... so come to the dark side. This is the first time I have fallen in love with a place that makes it by packing that much flavor. Needless to say, winter is coming and these pints will be perfect for a cozy indoor indulgence. MOST importantly... NO freezer burn OR brain freeze! The last thing you want to have is a headache/toothache as you bite down or lick an ice cream cone. In order to compete with the big players in this league, you have to know how to make it from scratch and not cheap out on the ingredients. Having a creamy consistency is HUGE, and tasting ice chips is a BIG no-no for me. Creamatory lives up to the name- which is the icing on the cake... and by the way, they also make their own ice cream cakes. PARTY TIME... This place is built with a huge dining area and party room in the back for some child friendly fun-time. You can either grab some cones or a cake to make your party a memorable one, because with this vast space you can make any kid happy here. FYI: --This is located right off of Rt. 46 in a small shopping center with a large parking lot.
