Decided to try their Sunday brunch buffet. Big mistake. I know this is a Mexican restaurant but didn't even have huevos rancheros or any egg based dish in the buffet. The rest of the food was typical Mexican fare like enchiladas, burritos and tacos. Not my idea of a weeend brunch. Most everything I tried was not hot bordering on cold. Well decided to give them a go even with the mixed reviews. For our party of 4 this was a perfect place to visit. We got there around 5:30pm place was hoping but didn't have to wait for a table. The service was spot on and super friendly. The margarita list was pretty nice. My wife got the flight and I got the Calavera which was in a fish bowl size glass. One thing for sure they didn't skip on the tequila. It was absolutely great. My wife loved her flight as well. For dinner I order the Chili Verde which was absolutely awesome. Super flavorful with nice size tender chunks of pork. To me it was some of the best I've had. Definitely wasn't as bad as some of the reviews. read more

Food is low quality. I'd never go back. Service is decent and basic. It's also pricey for what you get. I ordered the taco plate and it was pathetic. Chicken and asada didn't have flavor. Tortillas were sad and under cooked on the comal. I usually love bean dip and their free bean dip was even disappointing. It tasted old and they use cheap nasty chorizo with pre shredded American cheese as a top. Ambiance is cool but because food seriously sucks, we'd never return. My hubby wanted mexican food, so I hopped on Yelp and found this place. Thank you fellow Yelpers! I love the decor, it was nice to snack on chips and salsa while looking at all the carvings, paintings, etc. Even the table tops have interesting artwork. I wasn't very hungry so I just ordered albondigas. It came in an enormous bowl. The carrot and squash were delicious, and kind of reminded me of my grandma's albondigas. In my personal view, the meatballs could have used more mint. It's always interesting to have mexican food outside San Diego. Flavors and textures can be very different. They offer a bean dip alongside their salsa, which my hubby promptly finished off! He also had the carnitas which were very delicious. This was our second choice because the 1st place we went to was closed eventhough maps said it was open. I did not expect to walk into a place full of lovely decor full of different skull decorations. I was in awe. I also loved how their seating area had skulls in them. I was happy that the 1st place was closed or else we wouldn't of came here and seen this place. Our group of 9 got seated right away. The customer service was great and the waiter kept checking us up on us. The food was delicious. I got spicy Chipotle shrimp and everybody kept picking at my food because of how good the sauce was good. My father in law got a mojarra and he got a great portion, but I guess it was soo good that he didn't share with anyone. Excellent Mexican food. The salsa has mild lingering bite with fresh veggies. The queso is a thick, white cheese that happily remains liquidy to dip your chips in or pour over your entree. It was yummy! Had the fajita burrito and it was huge, with rice and beans, very tasty. They assuredly don't skimp on large chunks of delicious protein and fajita veggies. Again, flavorful. The service (I luckily had Itzel) was impeccable from hostess' greeting carried through till you exit building for parking lot. The decor is bright, colorful and super fun. Felt like I was back in Mexico the theme is so authentic. Great bar/sports/giant TVs... and then also great family restaurant type seating. If you are a vegetarian though you need to ask very specific questions about what has meat in it and what doesn't - as the bean dip which I assumed would be vegetarian was not. Which made me also concerned about whether or not their beans are vegetarian (even though the vegetarian meals have beans in them) since I get violently ill if I eat meat I steered away from anything with refried beans just in case. This place is now on my top 2 Mexican food restaurants and here is why; the food is simply "The Bomb". Everything we ordered, and there are 12 of us here today, from the Fajitas, Onondaga soup, Red Colorado plate, shredded beef quesadilla, red burritos and so much more. All of it and I mean all of it is top shelf quality and flavor. I highly recommended taking this short drive to experience this awesome food and you will be glad you did.
