First time to Mi Pueblo, recommended by regular. Now we will be regulars too! Nice little cantina with a fun selection of latin music videos on the tv. The margaritas were made with good tequila, not some nameless well stuff, and they were excellent. The menu has some interesting items, a proper stuffed ancho chile relleno with real queso, and a Molcajete! I had the boring old taco salad, which turned out to be delicious and much more than I could eat. The standout was the homemade corn tortillas, wow! Worth going just for those, so flipping yummy! Our family has enjoyed dining at Mi Pueblo from day one. It is exciting to see how the restaurant has matured. Last week we popped in late for dinner. I apologized for the near to closing arrival and the hostess handled the apology graciously. Combo plates for us both which were generously portioned, fresh, and tasty. Our waiter was chill, articulate, and courteous. Sumptuous beef tamale, chicken enchiladas, and carnitas street tacos accompanied by fluffy seasoned arroz and sublime frijoles filled our bellies. The meal imparted the passion we associate with chefs that cook from their heart! My side order of corn tortillas was a treat arousing a small kid time memory sitting in my Abuelita's kitchen watching her make corn tortillas. I was looking for a comfort Mexican restaurant and this looked like the right place. I came here for dinner on a Thursday night and it was lively with a decent amount of dine ins. It took quite a bit for my party of two to get seated mainly because there was only one server. Food came out fairly quick and while the server didn't check up on us too much, it was easy to flag her down and she was attentive to our requests. Before our main course, we were offered chips and salsa. I decided to go for their dinner plate that came with taco, tamale, sopes with steak as my protein and bean and rice. I thought the food was mediocre. The steak was over cooked and chewy. The tamale was thick and dry. Rice was more mushy than I would like. I wouldn't say the food here is outstanding but if you're feeling for a comfort Mexican meal, then this may be your place. read more

Third time here. A nice comfortable place with good food. I ordered the chicken in mole and my date, the molcajete. Service was reasonable considering the people in the restaurant. I loved my mole and would recommend it to anyone. Savory and comforting with just a touch of spice. My dates stew was spicy, even for her and she enjoys more heat than I do. She drank lots of water and used my tortillas to help. Even though this dish was good, I don't think she'll order it again. We both had Cadillac Margaritas and as I recalled before dining here, they are strong drunks so be aware. One previous visit here my only complaint was that my dinner plate lacked a yummy savory sauce. We'll be back. read more

I ordered the pueblo burrito with carne asada. Food was all mediocre. I was actually happy I was splitting the burrito with somebody because it wasn't good enough to finish the whole thing on my own. The burrito gives the illusion that it's huge and massive but it's not wrapped on the ends so it's a pretty normal size for a burrito. They do have a spicy sauce you can ask for which I thought was awesome. My burrito would have been pretty bad without it to be honest. Service was good, the servers were very busy and hustling around. Chips were awful - not sure if they were stale or what? We didn't really want to eat them. read more

Nicely cooked meats, everything was hot and tasted fresh. We stopped in for dinner after passing this spot several times. We were seated quickly and our order was taken just after receiving chips, salsa and waters. We ordered the molcajete and the chicken fajitas along with a bowl of tortilla soup to share. Next time I'll be getting my own bowl! The staff was very nice, attentive and checked on us regularly. Prices are reasonable and the food is worth every penny! Horrible food, horrible service! The salsa tasted like tomato paste diluted with water. I asked for a different salsa and the server said they don't have any. What kind of Mexican restaurant only has one type of salsa?! The enchiladas were mediocre, tamale had cubed chicken meat in it; Looked like dog food. The server was not helpful at all. I could spend half the money at a food cart and have better food and service. My whole family feels sick after eating this food. I will never return here and I want my money back. read more

Mi Pueblo is muy deliciousoso! I've gone by this place hundreds of times, never having the first idea what wonderful delights awaited me inside. Stepping inside, it's nothing like the vanilla strip mall exterior. The decor will keep your eyes roaming over multiple visits. There is great attention to detail in both the interior and the menu. Service is pretty decent, with at least the head waitress keeping a close eye on everyone's needs. The guava margarita is made from fresh guava, is huge, comfortably boozy, delicious and very reasonably priced at $9.00. The chile rellenos is one of the best I've had in a long time. It's not overly eggy made with very fresh chillies. read more

Sorry y'all tried to give it a chance many times this is not very good Mexican food I am Mexican I'm new to Oregon I understand many Mexicans have different versions depending on what state in Mexico they live in but the basics should be about the same. They don't follow that. My white enchiladas were drenched in ranch sauce. That was the "white sauce" stated on the menu. I ordered shrimp cocktail and I couldn't even eat it. Nothing taste fresh not even the table salsa taste like pace pícate. Salsa should be fresh not served cold as if it just came out the fridge at least room temperature. Food was made wrong all I could taste was oregano you do NOT put Oregano in that shrimp cocktail. And I've never heard of enchiladas drenched in ranch. White enchiladas are called "enchiladas suizas" and should be lightly covered in a yummy creamy béchamel sauce or similar at least for the price I'm paying I don't want my food swimming in ranch. Ranch sauce is not in any Mexican dishes. It has a distinct flavor that doesn't not combine with our spices and salsas. Had to toss the entire dish it was disgusting. The fried fish plate my husband had was great but that's about it I see why they run out of it it's probably the only good thing they can make fried fish and a side of rice and beans. Doesn't take much work to make an amazing fresh house salsa I don't get these Mexican restaurants out here in Oregon very disappointed still yet to find an authentic Mexican food place taco bell is better than some of these geez I love ranch but damn y'all Made me hate it for a while it's all I can taste yuck! Yay! It's super authentic :) I think it's one of those places that if you didn't use yelp you would've never noticed such an authentic Mexican restaurant. The portions were actually much bigger than I thought. Definitely try their corn tortilla tacos. I liked their enchiladas but I didn't like their chili rellano. The service is Okay I did ask for extra spicy salsa and the waitress never gave them to me. Anyways; if I'm in the area and craving some Mexican food I would certainly come back. I found this gem several weeks after relocating from California to Portland, OR. during the COVID outbreak. It is my first restaurant to go into since early March. I went at 4:00 when they opened and there were two other tables being used while I was there. My waitress was very kind and attentive. I was apprehensive about venturing out in public to eat but this restaurant had social distancing down to a T. Chicken enchilada with beans & rice was very good & generous with flavorful chicken. The tortilla it was wrapped in tasted homemade. I also had a margarita which was quite good too. They charge for chips & salsa but only $1.75. The salsa is really flavorful and had just enough onions in it. I will try a mole dish next time. They also do take out orders too. read more

Spot on Mexican fare and ambience, reminding me of some of truly great Mexican joints of Southern California. It's exactly what you want, right down to the crazily painted furniture. Service was delightful, and the "careful, the plate is hot" warning let me know things were done right. Margaritas were potent and plentiful. Horrible service, very rude, and our food was not good. Not an authentic mexican restaurant. When you are at a REAL AUTHENTIC MEXICAN RESTAURANT, they never charge extra for simple chips and salsa. The staff were very rude. We had a party of 11 and when we asked for straws and water. They were upset and bothered of our request. We asked for a drink menu, the waitress replied rudely that the drink menu is only online. One of us ordered a molcajete but was served in a skillet. Not authentic at all. There are way better places to go. I suggest trying out a different Mexican Restaurant then this one. read more
