    Lovely little dining area!

Several months later and I find myself with a little "Calcutta Problem". Which is to say that I crave their food on a regular basis. Check them out! So fantastic! The daily tiffins are amazing and the products sold in their market are a cut above. Don't miss the Chai either. ;)

Food is fine, but overpriced. Also, just half a cup refill on a cup of chai? Can't even give a full refill???

The food is average here and the prices are outrageous. $12 for a shaggy samosa chat.

Owner is incredibly rude, and I don't trust their food safety. Will not be returning.

Everything we had was phenomenal! I grew up on Indian food and this place is delicious. Loved the tea I had also.

Every time I run errands in Kingston I get their limeade, their samosas, and something to go for later.

I mostly came to sample their prepped foods though. They had way more options than I realized, including veg, chicken, and beef samosas, kebabs, curry puffs, and tandoori chicken. It looks like they had run out of quite a bit of their prepped foods too. Within 5 min someone helped me out. I got two veg samosas and a kebab. I was asked if I wanted them heated, which would take 5 min, and I said no. I paid and was able to walk out. This is a grocery store, so no place to sit and eat here. I left, heated up the food on my own. And it was great! Best samosa I've had in a while (filled with potato and standard samosa filling) and well flavored. The kebab was also great, well spiced and flavorful. It may have been a touch dry but frankly didn't detract for me. Good food, reasonably priced, and close to where I work so glad I decided to stop by!

The prices were average for most of the items that I am familiar with. I thought some of the spices were reasonably priced and the variety was expansive. Staff helped me in finding what i wanted. If you're like me and can't live without a variety of Asian goodies like tea and crackers, your jaw is bound to drop at the sights as you walk in. Sure, the aisles are only wide enough for one person to walk through straight on, but that's a small concession for what's on offer here. Their produce section is surprisingly extensive, there's even a seafood section, and it looks like they've finally revamped the hot food next to the front entrance. The staff at checkout here are always quick and efficient, and I'm grateful they're such a decent Asian supermarket in the Capital District to complement the wonderful Kim's and Jang Tuh. They have their own parking lot and we have come close to not finding a parking space here, but there's a constant flow of people coming and going, so we've never actually not found parking.

The overall cleanliness of the store also raises some serious concern! It's really disappointing because a good Asian grocery store is hard to find in the area. I hope the management takes these issues seriously and improves their quality control and sanitation standards. Customers deserve better, especially when it comes to food safety.

When I first discovered Kim's, comparison to Jang Teo was inevitable and, as a result, I quickly decided I preferred Jang Teo. Some years later, I revisited Kim's to realise that their pricing for the most part is comparable to Jang Teo, and they tend to stock some unusual items that are hit and miss. Take the frozen bibim kit recent for, for example. I wasn't interested especially with the $5.99 price tag, but I picked it up after seeing it discounted to $3.99 albeit with reservations. It turns out I had reasons to be hesitant. The rice is too sticky for bibim and there's not nearly enough toppings. On the other hand, the frozen kimbap rolls still impress me and are clearly a hit. All in all, I'm appreciative that they're with us and I can source goodies without needing to travel hundreds of miles. Long live Kim's.
