Another trip to Calda's that didn't disappoint. We miss this spot so much so it's always a treat when we make our yearly trip here. We usually get the same server who it's super nice and he put us in our favorite section, the smaller one to the left. Hubs got the tortellini with meat sauce and I got the Chicken Al Zantino. Bubs sucked down bread and fries but will probably eat his chicken fingers at home. Never change Calda...we love you just the way you are. read more

Great pizza! The spinach artichoke dip was legitimate. It came with this garlic bread with real garlic pieces, chopped up and baked onto it. It's nice to see meatball pizza served with real slices of large meatballs and not just tiny balls of meat. Great spot for food. read more

This is the best pizza so far I have found in Long Island, I had pizza around this town, but nothing that compares to their quality of ingredients and flavor of this restaurant. The customer treatment was superb and we were treated with utmost respect and professionalism. Quick service everybody here is always nice and the pizza is really good. It's on the heavy side, but you can ask them to go lighter on the cheese and they usually do. Everyone is usually very friendly and there's plenty of parking not much of an atmosphere. it's a pizzeria, but there's always someplace to sit and the service is fast. read more

BEST penne pasta I've had! I love trying it from all different restaurants but this one definitely got it! The taste, seasoning, texture, everything was so good! Gotta love Calda!!! I love their sauce and my wife and I especially love their à la vodka sauce. I've been to the Levittown location and the Massapequa location and the food is exactly the same. I love they let you sit in the booth, even if we're just having slices of pizza. When you dine in they bring bread and sauce! Their fried calamari is the best ! I liked they had a vegan menu and non veg options since my family weren't vegan aka strict vegetarians so everyone was happy. Been on a pizza kick because pizza. My boyfriend and I have been on a pizza kick recently trying different pizzas from different places. We found ourselves here. He had a Buffalo chicken slice. He enjoyed it. I had a bite and it was yummy. Perfect balance of heat. Great flavors throughout! I had balsamic chicken slice. It was yummy and the chicken was marinated well. We decided yesterday afternoon to try Calda after reading the good reviews. Being Italian it's difficult to eat Italian out and not compare it to our own, our Nonna or mom's cooking. Well we were pleasantly surprised at how good service and the food was. The first impression was Anthony our waiter. He was pleasant, personable and attentive. He set the stage for our dining experience. Hats off to Calda for having him on staff. The start of the bread basket with fresh delicious garlic knots and fresh bread with dipping sauce not heated up hero rolls like most others use. The sauce was a nice touch and the best test of an Italian place is the sauce. This was very good. Our appetizer the Sunday meatballs with fresh ricotta and basil with peppers was delicious. A must have!! We ordered chicken scarparello which was excellent and a pasta bolognese. The bolognese was good but wife wasn't into the creamy vodka sauce as served. Just her personal tastes. Anthony asked how is everything and she did mention it was good but not what she expected. Anthony immediately told her he would make her something else because she should be happy and that's what they want her to be. I was impressed with his customer service and the way he offered to handle the situation and not worry about the cost of the dish and a remake. No questions asked customer satisfied. A dead concept in most restaurants these days. It was refreshing. We didn't exchange the dish but enjoyed our overall experience. Sometimes there's more that makes a good experience dining out than just the food. It's the whole experience and Calda supplied just that. Thank you Anthony and Calda for a wonderful experience. Pizza is very very good... I also enjoy the way they make the spaghetti carbonara. It's not heavy and it's got just the right amount of pancetta in it. Not too much cream. I've never done there I've only gotten delivery or pick up so I can't speak to the ambience or the service but the people work the Counter and take your order are very nice. read more

Sorry Calda but your entrees were a disappointment tonight. I have been a fan of your pizza in Levittown for the longest time! The smell of your delicious food always enticed me while I was at Bluegrass Lane pool. I was thrilled when you opened a location in my home town of Massapequa. I even went as far as writing a positive review on Yelp and always suggested your pizza as "one of the best" on the Massapequa Mom FB page. We decided to go to Calda for dinner. Our appetizer of calamari arrabbiata was excellent as was their complimentary bread basket. Here is where things weren't good. My fiancé ordered the Linguini Fruti di Mar. It came to the table in two plates. One plate was the seafood (shrimp, mussels and calamari) and the other plate was the pasta. It was a reasonably generous position. It was ordered "mild" which we assumed meant not spicy. Unfortunately, it was too spicy for him. We had to send it back. My fiancé didn't want to send it back because he hates to waste food, but I insisted since he should enjoy it. The kitchen confirmed there was quite a few spicy peppers, so they offered to remake the dish. When the replacement dish came to the table, it was considerably different. It was on ONE plate with one shrimp, a dozen mussels and NO CALAMARI. My Linguini with white clam sauce was also a disappointment for a different reason. I was surprised to discover their version contains scallions (and it was not a garnish). This gave it an unexpected flavor since I am not a fan of scallions. They remade the dish and the replacement dish came out with NO CLAMS in the shells like the original entree. I won't go as far to say it was punitive, but each of us received less in our "replacement" meal even though we sent back our full entrees uneaten. Our waiter was courteous and tried his best to resolve our issues to the best of his abilities. I hope that Calda finds this review useful. They are usually a good restaurant. PS. Well, even though it's been a little past a year since then, I have to say based on our most recent order I will step up and apologize for that less than gracious review. I should have waited and not jumped and given a bad review right out of the gate, so to speak. I feel terrible about it. For this visit, from the phone call of ordering our food and having Leah understand what I wanted and didn't want on my salad and having the entire order come perfectly cooked, everything being prepared to a tee, and the salad exactly how both my husband and I wanted it was perfection. $15.25 seemed steep for a small salad, Ha this fed 2 adults for dinner the night after having pizza because we just couldn't think about either ruining our appetites for our eye candy Meatball Pie sitting in front of us or for our amazing Antipasto Salad with Calda's Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing to be a teaser and then we're too full to savor and enjoy it how it should be. Billy Joel sings about "our Italian restaurant" and this has become our Italian restaurant. We go at least once a month. We love the pizza and the pasta and the specials. We have brought friends here and introduced them to the delicious food. The early week specials are great - we always get a salad and a main course and have enough leftovers for the next day (or two). My favorite is rigatoni ortalano - tomato sauce, grilled chicken and mushrooms. He loves the pasta bolognese. I also really enjoy the gnocchi and the linguine with clam sauce. I think we had most of the pastas on the menu at this point. As for the pizza, there was a busy period in our lives where we would pick up slices 1-3 times a week for dinner. The grandma and the grandma vodka slices are perfection. I love the crust because it's just thin and crispy enough. They also have some interesting specialty slices. I usually try them just to get something new. I liked the calamari pizza a lot. It's a homey atmosphere and the staff is very friendly. The decor is very nice and relaxing.
