California burrito with a side of rice
    Celia V.

This just opened where there used to be a KFC (good riddance). This place is so much better! I ordered the California burrito with a side order of rice. About 15 bucks, which was very fair considering the size of the burrito. The burrito contains carne asada, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, onions, cilantro, and fries. Definitely one of the best California burritos I've ever had. The meat was well seasoned, and all the ingredients seemed fresh. The salsas are very good, the red was my personal favorite. Had a really nice kick! The rice was good, just your standard Mexican rice. The only downside was the wait time for the food. That would not stop me from coming back to try other menu items.

If you're looking for bold, crave-worthy Mexican food, Cali Taco definitely hits the spot. Their birria tacos are juicy and packed with flavor, and the rolled tacos are crispy, cheesy perfection--especially the Cali Rolled Tacos, which might just be addictive. Every bite is a solid reminder of why this place stays busy. The only downside? The dining room and ordering area are pretty tight. It can feel a little crowded, especially during rush hours, so it's not the most comfortable spot to sit down and relax. That said, the food more than makes up for it, and it's definitely worth grabbing to-go if you want to enjoy those tacos in a more spacious setting. Overall, Cali Taco delivers delicious, satisfying food that keeps you coming back--just maybe plan to eat it elsewhere.

Opening night at the Mesa location so there was a DJ and free giveaways, it was a great vibe and excellent service like the other locations. By far one of the best taco spots in AZ. The menu is immense and so far everything we have had has been great. Have been eating Cali Tacos for years and I am happy they are finally out in Mesa.

I decided to try this place since I was craving tacos. They had a deal on Uber eats for buy 1 get 1 free 3 tacos which comes with rice and beans. I ordered Carne asada tacos and the Birria Tacos. I ordered The Birria crunchy tacos and the Consome/Broth to dip them. The portions and amount of meat they put in the tacos is good. As a conisouier of Birria I was excited to try theirs. The downside is the Birria meat used in the tacos and the Consome tasted like Tap/Faucet water. The taste just overpowered all of the other flavors and I couldnt get around it. The Carne asada tacos looked like ground beef. Idk if they used a different cut of meat but I'm used to traditional Flap steak or Skirt steak for Carne Asada. Maybe the other menu items are good but unfortunately I wont be back since the tacos were a deal breaker.

We were ar the stop light after picking up all the fixings to grill our own asada tacos for the Memorial Day weekend holiday when I saw this place after flipping a U turn we ended up in the drive thru with the other cars. Now I do have to admit the girls working the window were knocking out the orders to go. Where I'm hitting the review with my three stars was the asada the staple for both of these meals for $20 the Carne Asada was super dry on my tacos it was dry like dehydrated meat then you add two super dry tacos to put the meat into i honestly had a hard time swallowing the stuff even with avocado sauce on them. The beans and rice were super I enjoyed them alot. The Cali burrito my boyfriend found to be really greasy. Now I'm from California so I'm use to French fries being in a burrito but it was on the greasy side and considering how expensive it is to eat out now a days we didn't find it worth the peso. The staff on the other hand were kind this place just wasn't for us.

Look at these .If you want you eat your food all thrown in the tray with no care, go here. And we called to talk to them and they deny it!

Don't throw the food in tray with no care..and take accountability for mistakes. I know we are not going back.

Service was so slow. I wonder if they went to another location to get the food. Ridiculous service.

We pulled into the parking lot at 5:30 and the place was hopping. This is usually an amazing sign for a great restaurant. It all ended there. The hostess asked us if we could be done by 7 because they needed the table, it's 5:30. Rude. We walked into the dining room and were greeted with extremely loud talking. If you think you'll be able to hear the people you're dining with without shouting you're mistaken. The seating was awful. Either a hard picnic bench or wicker style chairs. Have you ever sat on a wicker style chair with shorts or a skirt on? Ouch! For the prices they're charging for the food you'd think they could afford decent seating. Possibly some more robust seating would do something to deaden the sound in that room. We were seated and ignored by every server in the room. The young man who delivers waters finally noticed us and brought us water. That's where the service ended. We had been there for quite some time, an additional 10 minutes plus. At this point I say to my party if they don't at least address us in the next 5 minutes we're leaving. This place does not offer complimentary chips and salsa. Isn't that kind of a standard of Mexican food restaurants? That was a $4.50 starter with red and green salsas. We did not enjoy the salsa and the chips were blah. Unfortunately we ordered our dinner with our starter. We should've cut and run. We waited for our food. It looked delicious, presentation is the one place this place won. These were the worst birria tacos I've ever had. Even with the consommé they tasted like nothing. After two bites I switched to the rice and beans which were decent. That was my dinner. Rice and beans for $18. Everyone in my party complained about the volume. Everyone in my party said we won't be back. The food was so bland. $84.50 with tip for 4 people for dinner with water only and the service, ambiance, and the food were just lacking. Do yourself a favor, for these prices go to Blanco, that's delicious and the service far exceeds what we were presented with at The Guadalupe on Main.

But, my wife had fries that I could steal and I appreciate having a salad option. The little side salad had a nice bitterness complemented by the slight sourness of the dressing. The meat was flavorful and sliced perfectly while the bread was toasty enough to stay together long enough to hold in all that juiciness. Our server was attentive and friendly and I'll happily go back to try some menu staples ... unless the next special demands my attention like that Reuben did.

The queso was rich without being too heavy, and the mustard added a nice contrast. For my meal, I had the Caesar salad topped with a bistro steak cooked a perfect medium rare. The romaine was crisp, the garlic-anchovy dressing bold, and the garlic croutons and parmesan tied everything together. The steak was tender, flavorful, and elevated the salad. At the table, we also ordered the cheesesteak with Angus beef, roasted peppers and onions, Havarti cheese, and garlic aioli served on a baguette, with sweet potato fries. The sandwich was hearty and satisfying, and the fries were really good The wagyu burger was another standout--topped bacon, Gruyère and smoky blue cheese, caramelized onions, tomato jam, and garlic aioli on a pub bun. The beef and bacon were fabulous and the fries cooked to perfection Jake, our server, was terrific--attentive, friendly, and helped make the whole experience even better. We finished with the butterscotch bread pudding topped with vanilla gelato and caramel sauce, which was the perfect ending--warm, comforting, and just the right amount of sweetness Overall, a great patio dining experience with flavorful dishes, excellent service, and plenty of variety.

My go-to are whiskey and bourbon, but all proved to be delicious and any would make for a nice gift. Since we had been drinking previously to our visit, we didn't have room and time to have a drink at the bar, but certainly coming back looking at their cocktail menu online! The main area is a cocktail bar around a horseshoe, an homage to the guiding as it used to be a horse barn if I remember correctly. It gives speakeasy vibes with its dim lights, but certainly up on my list to come back and recommend to others!

They have a list of signature and classic options using spirits distilled at the whiskey as well as other spirits. Each cocktail is a work of art. The artisanal elixirs are made to order right in front of you at the bar.
