I was scheduled for a 7:30 am appointment at fremont location by AAA after they confirmed it's an approved Tesla service shop. I got a text reminder at 7am from Caliber collision. When I went to the shop they said the don't service tesla and I can go to their santa clara location! 'Well I got a text just 30 min to bring the car' to which the response was silly. 'Oh! It just said model Y and not sure what it was!' The service reviews were good but with such a bad front desk and communication it's not something I will go back ever. read more

Aroldo and his team were AMAZING! Customer service was far beyond what I have received in other shops and in other businesses in general. They were all kind, respectful, attentive to detail, and ensured I was well taken care of. While waiting in the lobby for my car's intake I was greeted by every single employee that passed by and asked if I was already being helped with a smile and a kind tone, they all seemed genuine and happy to help. Then once the repair was starting I got periodic updates with the work on my car and to top it all off I got my car 3 days sooner than expected :) Everything was covered under my insurance and they communicated so promptly, stayed on top of all the paperwork and had my car worked on instantly! The value of the work done is outstanding! I've had my car back 3 weeks and still look at the area fixed in AW! I'm VERY VERY HAPPY with the results. Even though my car is nearly 20 years old it's still my pride and joy, so I was really upset when it got sideswiped. After taking it to the shop closest to my home, I was disappointed with an overblown estimate as well as an unprofessional staff. I then contacted my insurance company who referred me to Caliber Collision Fremont at 41945 Albrae Street, a AAA Approved Auto Collision Repair Shop. Everyone I met there was friendly, professional, and honest. I had the pleasure of working with Joe Lopez. He understood my concerns that the repaired area wouldn't match the original and that replacement parts might not be available for such an old car. Joe patiently explained my options and took his time determining the best solution for repair. His due diligence paid off- my car was returned in better condition than before the accident. Went to Caliber for insured bumper repair. Service was good and the repair looked great. BUT, they gave my car a complementary wash and scratched up the finish. It looks like someone took a rag full of sand to clean the car. I know, because I washed the car before I took it in (to make sure I could see any paint overspray if it occured.) I got into one of those "you cant prove it" conversations with Alex. Indeed, I could not prove they scratched the finish in deep swirls, but I know I didn't drop if off that way. Body dents and scrapes. My Estimator was Alex. He treated me like royalty. There was a mistake in the estimate and Alex fixed the mistake and added some extra work to compensate. The shop went around the car and buffed and fixed some smaller things that did not add to the estimate. One thing was clearing up the plastic covering for my headlights. They look great. I initially got 3 estimates and calibers estimate was in the middle. I dropped the car off on a Monday and Alex estimated it would be done Friday. After dropping the car off Alex drove me home. It was finished the following Thursday, a day early. Again, Alex picked me up at my house and took me to the shop. My car looks better than it ever did! Honestly if you have a choice I defintely recommend somewhere else. Due to a collision accident(where we were at no fault but became a word vs word situation) we were recommended to go here and we thought everything would go simply and good. It didn't feel like that. My first appointment which was to get an estimate for the damage and to figure how much insurance was covering after our deductible due to circumstances, it was a waste. There was notes missing about damage to my fender and bumper which required me to have to call my insurance and get them to see what happened. Now I'm not putting the missing notes on the shop but the appointment was such a waste because I couldn't be given a rough estimate even without the missing notes of damage as I asked for two rough estimates to be done one being with what was there currently and what was there with the missing fender and bumper damage. The shop adjuster refused to call the insurance to figure out the missing notes as they said they cannot call insurances only insurance can call them. So you mean to tell me, it can only happen with one sided communication? Through this whole process from day 1 of appointment to drop off day the adjuster was not as helpful and seemed to just worry about his job versus helping a client/customer. Then the shop had issues sending me an estimate 2 times and then when I finally got a pre estimate, I noticed there was missing items for my fender and bumper's side which I called and got told " oh we are still awaiting approval from insurance on those two areas and I just listed them in the estimates just to be there so it's not accurate" then I got asked how I got a copy of the estimate. So in recap they sent me an estimate I apparently wasn't supposed to get and prematurely told me everything got approved only to find out it still wasn't. Now for the icing on the cake: on drop off day for my car to get fixed, I wasn't seen until 45-50 mins after my appointment time and I was late to my rental car appointment. my adjuster decided do another run through of my car to see the damage and mark damage for the repair team only to go through every detail of my car that had scratches and nicks including ones on a different side that I clearly expressed wasn't part of the accident but somehow he had the tone of having to still tell me so he looks out for his job, which was so much time wastage, then due to a small chip on my windshield I got told if anything happens to the windshield during the time at shop they aren't liable. I clarified what that meant eve with example scenarios of if someone broke into their property and smashed cars up or a repair team member dropped something heavy on my windshield on accident, assuming they would take liability. They said no they don't due to that small chip and that they recommend usually people to get it fixed before hand. Lol so they couldn't tell me this at my first appointment????? And I'm sorry but that's concerning to claim you're not liable for damage done to my car if it occurs during time in your shop. Lol I'm sorry but this is what's not gonna have me most likely be back. The value of time and customer service when it comes to communication, ability, and being someone to depend on is concerning with them. Only reason they get 3 stars is because they were able to fix the damage and paint properly and in a week but when it comes to everything else not worth it read more

This is by far the worst collision center I've had the displeasure of dealing with. I understand lead times are out of control for a lot of parts right now, however, this specific place has been a nightmare to work with on every level. They gave us 3 dates of when the work was going to be complete and failed to deliver on all of them. They had no updates or clear communication in how long the repair would take. Then after 6 months of my fiancé car being at the shop they unexpectedly called with one day notice saying the car was completed and the they would not pay for the rental anymore after today. I had to take an unplanned day off from work and my fiancé had to drive 2.5 hours one way to this repair shop. Once she got in the vehicle the passenger window still did not work and the AC was blowing hot air. Now, she has to drop it back off for them to complete the repair and borrow her fathers car to get home, which is a huge inconvenience for everyone involved. I highly suggest going somewhere else with your vehicle. This place is erratic, incompetent and irresponsible. I wish I could give negative stars to this place. We had a pleasant experience with caliber collision up to the point where we got to speak with the manager Robert Chen. When our car was vandalized and got towed to Caliber we first spoke with Joe Lopez who was great. (He was nice, friendly and was of great help.) After speaking with our insurance agent we got offered two options totaling it or trying to fix it and make repairs on our own. We decided we wanted to give it a go and try to fix it through our end. When we called to speak with Joe we got transferred with Robert, who was unprofessional and rude about us keeping the car. He input his personal opinion, he was set on our car getting totaled and being unfixable. When arriving to the collision center he was once again rude and unprofessional about handing our car over. After my catalytic converter was stolen off my Honda Accord I called several auto body shops and my normal Honda dealer auto shop and it was revealed to me that cat converters had a 6 month backlog . Had an outstanding experience with this shop having some rear bumper damage repaired on my 2012 Honda. It was a fairly small job but my Service Advisor, Danny Chau, treated me like I was the most important customer they had. He kept me advised of the progress every step of the way. I had a side door damaged from vandalism this past weekend. I brought it into Caliber Collision and had RC as my agent. Very responsive. He had my car fixed up in no time. After a day or so my wife drove the car and noticed that the passenger side light was out. I brought it into Caliber and RC helped me. He mentioned that my low beam light was out and just welded it replaced. He also said that we would replace it for me. I bought the light and tried to replace it myself. But had trouble turning the light bulb in the back. I brought it into Caliber and to RC and he took my car to the back to get it replaced with the light that I bought!
