Word of advice of don't ever take your vehicle to Caliber Collision for any collision repairs. Sure they will fix your damages for any collision but in the process they will secretly cause more damage to your vehicle forcing you to bring your vehicle back to them and then they will try to get more money out of you to repair that damage and pretend they didn't know what caused it. My car came back with a non-working horn the first time. I brought it back yesterday to address the horn not working, pick it up today and now my stereo doesn't work. They have a bad reputation among professional collision repair shops in San Diego, not just this location either. Once I get my vehicle scanned by the professionals I'll definitely be taking this issue up with my insurance company. They have lost my business forever. Now I know not to ever ever choose Caliber Collision anywhere in the US. read more

Caliber North Park was on my insurance company's list of approved shops. As it's very close to my home, I went there after my car was rear-ended at a Stop sign. They did a fantastic job! My Service Advisor, Hector, called several times to keep me informed of the progress of the repairs. I told him I was hoping to have my car back before the weekend. And, even though, the estimated completion time was Monday, he called on Thursday evening to say the car was ready. Excellent service. I brought my car here to be fixed because it was one of the body shops contracted with State Farm. I rear ended another car, so the front bumper of my car had to be replaced After looking at reviews for all of the body shops in my area, I ended up choosing this one mainly because of its proximity to my apartment. I have to say, I'm so happy with my choice. I called State Farm to tell them that I had chosen this body shop. State Farm coordinated with them and gave them my information. And then I just called and made an appointment to drop off my car. I was able to drop off my car the same day in the afternoon (it was a Tuesday). My assigned liaison was Ivan. I filled out some paperwork and left my keys and that was it! They promised me that they'd be able to have it done by Monday, but that I could cautiously hope for Friday. I was updated every single day on the status of my car. I let Ivan know that I didn't get a rental car, so I was hoping they'd be able to finish it soon. His communication was so great and their service was amazing throughout the whole process. He was able to get it done by Friday! The whole front bumper was replaced and repainted in just 3 days! Overall, I was extremely impressed with their customer service and the quality of their work. They also provide a lifetime warranty for the repairs that they do. Well they just lost a customer and money. I was in an accident (not my fault) The person at faults insurance (State Farm) arranged a rental and this center for my car repairs. The center called me and stated the only time I could drop it off was Wednesday at 12. I told them I have Fridays off and I work at that time on Wednesday. The lady on the phone said they can not do a drop off on a Friday because they will not cover my rental on a weekend. I told them they never said there were exclusions to my rental. She said State farm is know for not divulging things like that. They offered no alternative for drop off even though they are like 2 blocks from my house and I offered to drop it off after work today at 4. The lady at caliber seemed ok when I told her I will call State farm and ask for another more accommodating shop referral. Guess they have all the business thy need. I called State Farm and the gal working for Caliber was bold face lying or completely incompetent. State Farm stated that was not even in her realm to state what their rental car policies are. They stated that they cover me in a rental as long as my car is in the shop period. Does not matter what day of the week. read more

2 weeks ago I was hit by someone who ran a red light. Thankfully the driver was insured, no one was injured and my car was still drivable. Farmers insurance (for the other driver) took full responsibility for the accident and they recommended Caliber Collision which was just a few blocks from my house. Someone from Caliber's main office called me and was able set up an appointment as soon as 2 days from the time they got in touch with me. I was able to drop my car off at 7:30 in the morning which ensured that I could still make it to work on time. Caliber set up a rental car for me, and had enterprise pick me up. Through the entire process I was helped by Ivan who was able to explain everything to me in layman's terms. The entire process and 2 possible time lines were thoroughly explained so I knew exactly what to expect. Ivan followed up with me twice in the 3 days to keep me updated on the process and timeline. They ended up getting my car done 2 days earlier than they promised which was a very welcome surprise. When I picked up my car it looked GREAT! They really went above and beyond (honestly, my car was filthy when I brought it in) cleaning the outside of the car, and even did a small detail job on the inside. And to top things off, Ivan made sure they buffed out the lenses for my front lights that had gotten foggy over time. I couldn't give much higher praise for Caliber and Ivan. They took a bad situation and made it as smooth as it could have possibly gone. read more

They were super pleased with the work, and they couldn't say enough about Ivan, their Service Advisor. Alberto was my Service Advisor. He was really great by providing me first class customer service. He was extremely professional, and called to keep me updated on the status of my car. I had a situation where I needed to get my car one day earlier than promised, and Alberto made it happen. I'm sure it depends on your damage, and how busy they are, but he got the job done for me and I can't thank him enough. I was very pleased with everyone I was in contact with and the work was perfect. If something does go wrong with the work in the future, my insurance GUARANTEES that it will be fixed right. I've had previous work done at Hawley Auto Body (a 5 star auto body shop), but I decided to try Caliber Collision in North Park as it's less than two blocks from my house. The customer service at this location is frankly horrible. They gave me an estimate, and when I called to schedule a repair they stated they would call the dealer and get back to me that day. I never received a call. When I called the next day asking about an update, the gentleman told me he called the dealer and they didn't have the part, stating this as the reason he didn't call me back. According to him, the dealership is the only place where they can obtain the part, which is ludicrous as I located the part in a twenty second internet search. I called Hawley and set up an appointment immediately. The only reason to use this "service" is if your insurance company mandates it. Location isn't everything. read more

My State farm agent recommended Caliber Collision.They picked my car up from the tow yard the day of the accident and that's where things got interesting. Ivan,one of the managers, kept me up to date on what my insurance was doing,the fact that my ins. wanted to cash me out instead of fixing my car. It took nearly 2 weeks, but Ivan basically 'saved me' by getting State Farm to finally agree to fix my car.The last thing I wanted or needed was to buy a new car. My Ford Escape,though 12 yrs.old, only has 60K miles on it,so it's been babied and is like new.Of course,that was before the accident.Caliber Collision made sure that it was returned to me in as good a shape as before the crash. Caliber created an estimate for my car and had my car on their lot for a whole month. No work was done. The workers kept requesting I call my insurance to get them to give caliber the okay to start the work. As we all know insurance companies are super slow with all the claims at the moment. After a month the insurance finally called and gave the okay and Caliber cannot even fix my car. All the time wasted and none of the employees knew they don't fix Alfa's. A joke. Employees work there but do not know what's going on. All they had to do was call someone or ask if they can fix my car and no one did their due diligence.What a waste of time!!! My car sat there for a whole month and none of the workers knew they are not certified to work on my car. When this whole time I could have been looking for another place? When asked could they tow for my car free of charge to the new repair shop, I was denied. I would never refer any or go to any caliber ever in my life. I wish I could give zero stars. read more

If your VW gets into a fender bender, take it to the experts at City VW. They are professional and prompt with their service. My 2012 VW Golf TDI was hit by another driver who was found at fault. Through my insurance, USAA, I initially took my vehicle to CALIBER COLISSION. They were unprofessional biased stating that it could be repaired without even completing the tear down. No surprise that their estimate came in less than the value needed to claim a total loss (their estimate was roughly 12,000 dollars). I believe they wanted the job more than making sure my car restored to its pre accident condition. Unsatisfied with my experience at CALIBER COLISSION, I took my care to City VW. Immediately they found an additional 6,000 in repairs and now I will be receiving compensation for a total loss. Their estimate was verified by a USAA inspector who said it was an obvious total loss. Bottom line, if you have a VW, it pays to have it looked at by professionals who understand the finer aspects of German engineering. read more

I took my car in to get an estimate. That part went fine and they told me it would take 3-5 days. I set up an appointment two days later to drop off the car. When I did, I was told by a different representative that it would be 3-5 days AFTER they got the parts but that shouldn't be a problem. I assumed they would have alr ady ordered the parts when I made the appointment. 9 days later, I received an email saying they could only get 1/2 the parts but could begin work in another week on the other part. So I declined that they do any work and picked up the car the next day when a third representative said "sorry. They should have checked availability of parts before accepting the car." Horrible in that there was no communication but would have been somewhat understandable if the parts they claim are not available really weren't available. I googled the part and ordered it myself. It will arrive in about 10 days and it will come painted to match my car color. Not impressed at all and in fact seems as though they are either incapable of their job or worse dishonest. read more
