Let me start by saying that, no one wants to be there for an accident (your fault or not), but he made the process seamless and effortless. I am not much of a Yelp(er), but I felt the need to inform everyone of Excellent and Exceptional customer service (which is somewhat of a lost art these days). When I picked up my car (by the way it was outside, ready to go and waiting), I noticed a slight scuff and a minor front bumper loose (had nothing to do with the current accident claim). He did not hesitate to fix and correct the problems and immediately got on it. Fast forward 20 mins and my car is back in front looking newer then it came into the shop!! My car was rear ended and had what would have been a typical repair work done. However, it was wholly inadequate. The shop did not finish the repair. One of the tail lights is broken and loose, rear panels are loose. I took my car into my local mechanic for my usual oil change and he was appalled at the state of the work. Despite the state of the work, I have to really recommend Ivan. He did a phenomenal job communicating through the process. When the insurance companies failed to communicate, he came through in the clutch. The team did work to get the issue resolved, but this was a hassle at an inconvenient time of the year. read more

Called Caliber Collision to set up an appointment for an estimate. Spoke to Natalie and received very friendly service from her as I'm a local business owner and have taken our business delivery vans here in the past . Natalie gave me an appointment and I sent my employee to take the delivery van early in the morning and was advised the advisor would reach out and discuss the damages and charges with me. The day went by and since I have not heard from the advisor I called the shop and was transferred over to Ivan. Ivan not only lacked customer service skills , he did not greet me and he seemed quiet bothered by my call. He was short and rude asking "yeah,!" So I proceded introducing myself and asking about the damages, his attitude and rudeness did not change albeit instead cut me off and stated he won't have an estimate done till 2 days or so. He's busy! At this point, I felt no need in giving them my business again. The rudeness and lack of professionalism was outstanding. Taking my business to another local shop which haga e me an estimate in less than 10 minutes and they were super friendly and guess what 5 star Yelp reviews all around! The 1 star is for Natalie. Someone scratched the shit outta my rear bumper and read quarter panel (paint and dents) while I was parked in a public lot in Santa Monica. Mercury said Caliber was their only certified shop in Santa Monica so I headed over for an estimate. Of course, my deductible is $1,000 and the estimate came out to $1,130. Sigh. It is what it is, I just wanted the repairs done and my car back. I will say that my insurance claim agent conference called Caliber with me and we had an awkward experience. I ended up calling them back later on my own and got a hold of someone. Making the appointment to drop off my car, pick up a rental, etc. was fine. Receptionists are all really friendly. I had accidentally forgotten to take my apartment keys off my car keys when I dropped them off (I hadn't had coffee yet OK), I had to call and they had my keys waiting for me to get picked up later that day. Gerardo was my adviser and he kept me updated via text daily. I dropped my car off on a Thursday and it was ready a week later. Thankfully I was out of town for a few of those days so it didn't seem as long. But they did a great job on the repairs. I actually had another scratch on another part of the panel but since they had to buff and wax to match it, etc. they helped me take care of that too! read more

If you want a place that prioritizes cheap parts and saving your insurance company money - then CALIBER is the way to go! I was floored by the unprofessional nature of this shop. They are 100 percent an "Insurance Shop." If you don't know what that means, it basically means they are there to serve your insurance company, not you, and to make sure they get the cheapest repair possible. This include using used and junk yard parts. Be aware that you are entitled under California law to request OEM and new parts and have your vehicle restored back to its original condition. Not use parts that are from a wrecked vehicle that somehow managed to survive. You are not their customer, your insurance company is. Also - depending on your vehicle, the use of non-OEM parts could invalidate your warranty. And go to a place that is CERTIFIED to repair you make of vehicle. It is likely that Caliber is not because that requires them to get approved by the manufacturers. read more

If not even better! Have been going to this location for many many years. This time it was for two autos. One was paid through insurance, and I paid out of pocket to have additional work done. John was my go to guy, kept me informed, and on my out of pocket was able to give a nice discount. Work was done on time and looks great. Even a few items that possibly weren't a result of the accident he got the managers permission to fix, as they know we are good customers.That was for my car, a Infiniti G37(2008) with less then 50k on it, so now it looks like new! My daughter had a small scratch on her brand new car. Sedrik took a look and confirmed what I feared - that to repaint the front of the car would be very expensive. But he suggested that I purchase a touch up pen from the Mazda dealer and even said he would do the touch up for me (FREE!) if I brought it back. WOW - the car looks "good as new" (I can't even find where the scratch is anymore!) and he could not have been more helpful and friendly, saving me thousands of dollars of unnecessary expense. Living in LA means we will likely need his help in the future and he definitely has our business. Honest, friendly, helpful and very COVID respectful. I went to Caliber after this shop was recommended to me by another customer in Trader Joe's parking lot (after I had injured my driver side rear view mirror when it brushed against a column in the parking lot. Hayk kindly snapped a piece back in place & solved my dilemma. His repair made the damage so minimal I didn't see a need to replace the rear view mirror. But if I ever need work on my car, Caliber will be where I take it. I also like their COVID-19 precautions and felt very safe going there. Sorry I didn't take any pictures. Shaun B. and Monica were my main contacts at Caliber. Took my car in for repair as a preferred GEICO shop and ended up with more damage on my car from the store. The store manager is inappropriate and aggressive. There is a complete lack of operational competence and no sense of customer service. After leaving my car there for repair on a Friday, they told me they wouldn't work on the car until the following Tuesday due to holiday and them closing early. When I got the Enterprise for a rental, they were short on cars so advised me to get my car and get the rental on Monday. Enterprise called and confirmed with Caliber I would be dropped off to pick it back up. When I called to verify I would pick it back up, Sedric was incredibly rude and blatantly said they and he had the guys take the bumper off so I couldn't take my car. This the end of the day on a holiday when they said they're closing early and won't work on it. Enterprise called them back because they were confused as they had just called and confirmed. This store manager put everyone through the ringer out of spite. So now I have no car or rental right days before I was heading into medical treatment. One Enterprise employee pulled me aside to say that he heard Sedrick on the phone and it's not okay how he spoke to me and he would be worried about his car if it were there. Since they took the bumper off and I wasn't feeling well I had to just let it go, chalk it up to this store manager's own issues, and trust that it would work out okay. (It did not). There was poor communication throughout the process. I had to call for updates and they kept saying they were waiting on a part and it took well over three weeks to get. They ended up putting on a bumper that "happened to show" up but was not ordered for me. I sent a complaint through to GEICO because of the way they were treating their customers and I do not trust this place or Sedrick with my car based on how he speaks to customers. When I got my car back I noticed the paint has been scratched off on my side view mirror and white paint droplets on the side of my car - all unrelated to the rear-ending it was brought in for. They said they would fix the mirror since it was their fault and to come in anytime. Well, someone parked too close to my bumper this week and hit the back so decided to get the mirror fixed and to get an estimate on the bumper at the same time. I called the shop to I make an appt and the woman who answered said to bring it in without an appt since it's on them for the mirror. When I walked in today, there was no greeting, nothing. I had to ask someone for assistance. Sedrick came out to my car, quickly looked at the bumper, and said it'll be $1400 for the bumper and I need an appointment and they're not available until June and walked back inside. I went back into the store and said I was informed I don't need an appt and asked if I could bring it back at 4 that day. Sedric started getting really worked up and said it takes 2-3 hours so no. He also yelled at me for coming in during the lunch hour and they're short staffed. How is this my problem? How would one even know that? There's no sign saying they're closed at lunch nor are they closed at lunch. I asked to make an appt then and he started pulling up my information only to turn away to take a call and dismiss me. I turned to the person next to me and asked to speak with a higher up because of this. He said he was the manager (Angel). Angel said he could do an estimate that day. He went outside to take photos and also commented that it's not okay how he spoke to me and would talk to him. I said he spoke this way last time and I want someone to oversee the work to make sure it ends up okay. Angel said he would take care of it, write me the estimate and email it over. I didn't get the estimate so called the shop and was told they're refusing me service by orders of Sedric. This felt like a demeaning and disrespected experience on top of having my time wasted and my car damaged by them. While I was there another customer was complaining about their behavior and attitude toward customers. There is clearly no integrity or standards by corporate. I don't understand these great reviews. I have to think they're incentivized by Caliber to write them. I would absolutely not recommend this location to anyone and warn people to be cautious of their service and go somewhere else. read more
