    Cafe de olla hot
    Emiliano N.

We got the breakfast bowl, the lil sando and the papas bravas. The potatoes both in the bowl and by themselves were very well seasoned and cooked well without being dry. The lil sando went well with both of the sauces that we were given for the papas as well as the bowl in case you would like to try that. Both the ice and hot version of the cafe de olla were yummy. We will return for the dinner service sometime soon!

Right off the bat, this place had amazing food, atmosphere, and service. Coming in today was a blessing as my partner and I were able to grab a table immediately. During lunch their atmosphere is very calm and light. With natural tones, skylights, and nice background noise. It was still easy to talk without raising our voices but there was always a nice humm of noise around us. The service was perfect with the waiter coming quickly to take our drink, appetizer and pizza order as well as getting us water right off the bat. Everyone was so nice it felt like we were all friends. The food was awesome. We got the chicken wings, bread and butter, and mushroom pizza. The bread was fresh out of the oven with a little black char. The butter was fresh with herbs and garlic it seemed. The chicken wings were breaded fried and tossed with dry rub. They were also amazing with their ranch that had just the right amount of dill in it so it was still a proper ranch. (Some places just taste like dill sauce at this point.) The mushroom pizza stood alone as a great pizza and was even better for us dipped into that ranch. Overall I wish we had a Hearth in the San Fernando Valley but this was worth coming to moorpark to try this amazing food. I will definitely be bringing more friends and family back soon!

I went to Hearth for a solo lunch date earlier this month, and the staff were very nice and welcoming :) Their pizza is some of the best I've ever had, and the vibe of the restaurant itself is lovely, so please give this place a try!

Came here to try their breakfast. As usual, the restaurant is cozy and comfortable, but this time the smell of coffee was apparent. I ordered the Cafe De Olla and my wife got the Burnt Orange Mocha. I liked hers slightly more, but both were good. She ordered the Breakfast Torta and I got the Breakfast bowl. We each enjoyed our selection. The side of salsa Verde (with mint) was really good on both dishes. The staff are friendly as usual. Definitely worth the drive to Moorpark.

A small, well curated and thought out seasonal menu restaurant located in the alley in Moorpark. The bread here is amazing, compound butter is seasonal so be prepared for it to change, always excellent. We had the scallop agua chili to start, which was absolutely amazing. The wings and a latte were definitely wonderful, the wings are very crispy and full of flavor. Had the hanger steak for the main course, it was extremely juicy, the chimichurri sauce stands out, and it was one of the better steaks I've had in quite a while. If five stars, definitely recommend. Very busy so make sure you get a reservation.

Service was amazing. Kimberly our server was on top of everything, very nice and attentive. Audrey the hostess was super nice too and we felt very welcome. The restaurant is very intimate and if you want to eat inside you will probably need a reservation. Food was very good, and was served pretty quickly. Pricing was a bit expensive with the cost of the two pizzas and tip to totaling over $58.

Our friends own this restaurant which doesn't hurt this 5 star review but beyond our friendship, they are truly talented people! Seb's mind is brilliant with new ideas, always incorporating family and heart into everything he does. The chefs that work behind the counter and those that serve are kind and generous. Every single person working knows the menu and they seem to love what they do. The ambiance is incredible! Music is always perfect and the disco ball is a brilliant touch! Have not been for breakfast yet but you cannot go wrong with dinner!

I was really excited to finally get to try this place. Came on a Saturday night with reservations otherwise you will have quite the wait. The place is really small about half the restaurant is kitchen. Still had a really chill vibe which I enjoyed. Service wasn't bad for us, but the table next to us left because no one talked to them for 10-15 minutes after they were seated. Time for the food. We ordered Arepa, papas bravas, flank steak and the Hawaiian heat pizza. Arepa was dry and didn't have much flavor. Flank steak had good flavor, but was cold by the time they served it to us. Hawaiian heat pizza had great dough, but the toppings were flavorless and forgettable. I took it to go so I could go home and make it better. The best dish of the night and also the cheapest was the papas bravas. Cooked perfectly, a tad salty, but okay. The dipping sauce it came with really balanced it out. If it weren't for a couple things, like ambiance, our server, and the papas bravas, this place would have hit much lower in the ranking. -Edit, I'm upgrading my rating due to the owner reaching out and being a class act. You have to respect that in this industry. This place has potential so we will see what the future brings.

    Papas con chorizo pizza

Such a fun dining experience! I grew up in the SFV and Moorpark was a familiar location but never worth going to really. It's fun to know that creative places like Hearth are opening up in the Alley, which is a cool place to! We made a reservation for Friday at 5:30 and the place was busy! All tables were full. We were greeted warmly by the hostesses. We were celebrating a birthday and it was a fun surprise to see my name printed on the menu. A personal detail that goes along way. We got our drinks from the brewery so we went right into appetizers. We ordered shishito peppers that comes with a labneh dip and sourdough pizza dough. This was my all time favorite dish we had! Next we had Oaxaca quesadillas. We were sold on them by the waitress. They were good but too heavy from what we just had. Wouldn't order these next time. Next Caesar salad. Dainty lettuce. Dressed properly. Good flavor. Didn't stand out incredibly but was a good side for pizza. Finally the papas con chorizo pizza. We originally wanted the hot honey pizza but again we were going off of the waitress. This pizza was good, beautifully crafted and interesting. However wish we got the hot honey instead! The whole experience was a flavor rollercoaster! We enjoyed everything but I wished I thought about the flavors ordering more than we did. They surprised us were a complimentary cookie & ice cream dessert delivered from the chef. A sweet touch. To conclude, we loved our time at Hearth! And would love to visit again. The service was great and the decor is just beautiful.

    Short rib pizza
    Jolie F.

After waiting 26 minutes for our pizza, we were eager to try our short rib pizza. Would it be worth the money for a personal pizza? Prior to ordering, we debated if it was worth spending 27 dollars for this pizza when the margarita pizza was six dollars cheaper. We decided to try something new, only to be disappointed by the choice as the amount of short rib meat on the pizza was minimal. The restaurant should be ashamed to charge customers six dollars more for an ingredient that is barely noticeable. Despite the disappointment, in feeling overcharged, the crust quality was solid! So, Would I get this pizza again?! NO!

Hot honey pizza (the wine is from next door!)
    KJ E.

Matcha with passion fruit. Hot honey pizza. Warmed salted chocolate chip cookie. Breakfast burrito with pork belly. Certainly, these are my favorite items at Hearth that I find myself coming back to time and time again for breakfast/when I take over their counter to work and when I'm enjoying a beer outside and just want a pizza for dinner. The attention to detail is on point! Even more importantly, perhaps, is how I have felt welcomed time and time again. I don't live so far, so this has been a little safe haven for me especially as I have an option to "work from home" and I go stir cray by myself. I am grateful for the staff at Hearth who help make it feel like a little home (shout out to Nate and Cody!)-- I know I take over your counter every so often in the mornings! (And also, yes, they have stable wifi, and working there has been *chef's kiss*) Please come and support Hearth!!!! Literally they are the best

Elote starter; but all the other pieces were eaten :)
    Monique T.

Our first visit to this establishment and we will ABSOLUTELY BE BACK. We visited primarily for a drink at enegrens but were hungry--thankfully the Hearth had just opened business for the evening and we ordered the Margherita pizza, short rib pizza, and the elote starter. The Margherita pizza is garnished with an opal basil--absolutely compliments the flavors most delectably. We will come back for that alone! The elote was also so delicious and each plate had such a perfect smokey crisp to each bite. The wood-fired flavor is a must try--we found a Moorpark gem. We are excited to come back and taste other pizzas, and look forward to what the inside dinning menu has to offer. Now I must go--I want to try their dessert!

TRAGEDY!!! MISERY!!! DEVASTATION!!! I waited till the very last day they were serving breakfast to order a breakfast bowl. The potatoes were crispy, the avocado fresh, the omelette soft and fluffy, the beans and bell peppers delicious. My kids and I split the bowl and they ordered an extra side of potato and a cheese omelette after devouring the contents. The Shai'an coffee was heaven. HEAVEN. My only comfort is that they are still open and serving lunch and dinner. MOURN BREAKFAST WITH ME. No pictures of the bowl. It was gorgeous, but they ate it too fast

We honestly were not sure if we wanted to make the drive to Moorpark again, but given Phil's extended efforts, we felt it was only right to give Freda's another try. Our last visit was during Mother's Day weekend, so we thought to come for brunch on Father's Day. It was busy when we arrived, but the host team managed the flow of customers very well. While being seated, the timing of the next reservation was mentioned, allotting an hour and a half for our time there. This was more than enough, and we were graciously thanked for our understanding. Shortly after, Danielle came to greet us, apologized for the previous dining experience and showed sincere appreciation for having us again. We had two servers for our section, Nathan being our primary one, but as before, we felt the entire team worked exceptionally well in taking care of customers. We started with the Focaccia Rustico which was the best part of our last meal. This arrived heavily toasted. We prefer the softer version from our dinner, but it was still very good. The husband was eager to try the French Dip, and it did not disappoint. The sandwich had the perfect ratio of meat to bread. The au jus was flavorful, along with the horseradish spread. The fries were, hot, crisp and nicely seasoned. I ordered the Dutch Baby. It arrived freshly made in the cast iron pan, with sides of butter, syrup and berry compote. This was my first time having the German pancake and it was delicious! It will now be on my radar when having brunch elsewhere, but Freda's is the standard that others will follow. Team members checked on us often, as they did with other customers. Danielle stopped by a couple more times. We were thanked again, as we left, for giving them another chance. It was a great experience from beginning to end and a testament to Freda's dedication to customer satisfaction. We'll be back. :)

We tried the New Orleans BBQ Shrimp, Meatballs, French Dip and Mediterranean Chicken, and a mimosa. The meatballs were about the size of a golf ball. After cutting it in half the center looked firm and somewhat dry. It tasted a bit bland but after putting extra marinara sauce on it greatly improved the taste. The shrimp was ok but it did not stand out. The portions of both seemed small, probably adjusted due to the special menu. The bread that came with the dishes were good, warm and toasty. I really enjoyed the French Dip, the prime rib was tender, and the au jus and horseradish sauce enhanced the flavor. However the horseradish sauce didn't have the kick I was anticipating, so maybe more "horse" or more "radish"? Mediterranean chicken was also delicious. The fries were thin and crispy. Mimosa was refreshing. Service was great, our server Stephen was attentive and checked on us often. Overall it was an enjoyable first experience.

We also tried some of the baked pastas, which were absolutely comforting and delicious. And their special gnocchi? Incredible. Soft, flavorful, and truly something special. And of course, I can't forget the pizza--it was absolutely amazing. Honestly, no need to drive all the way to LA to places like Pizzeria Sei... this spot delivers that same level of quality right here. You can tell there's real care in the food here. **Utter Disappointment**…read more I followed the strong reviews and decided to try Magma Pizzeria for takeout through DoorDash. I ordered the Queen Margherita with added cheese and pepperoni. The pizza arrived about 20-30 minutes later, and while delivery temperature can affect a pie, it usually cannot hide whether the pizza itself is well-made. Unfortunately, this one missed the mark. The box had oil pooling on one side, which was not a great first sign. The crust was cooked around the edges, but the center was thin, soft, and doughy underneath. The added cheese and pepperoni were far too salty together, almost as if they belonged to a different pizza entirely, rather than working with the Margherita base. The basil was strong, which I expected from a Margherita-style pizza, but what felt missing were the diced or sliced tomatoes. Instead, it came across more like red sauce with heavy pizza seasoning, and not in a good way. Overall, the pizza felt rushed and should not have left the kitchen in that condition. I wanted to like it based on the reviews, but this was not a good pie. I'm hoping for better pizza options in the Camarillo/Thousand Oaks area moving forward. I won't be back.

She even let me sample different gelato flavors and suggested some great dishes to try on my next visit. That kind of thoughtfulness goes a long way. The affogato here is on another level. Most places serve it in a paper cup where the espresso and gelato just blend into a mushy mess. Not here. Carrara's presents it beautifully on a stone tray, with a proper espresso cup and a transparent glass so you can actually see the layers of gelato and espresso. And Ama personally poured the espresso tableside, which really topped off the whole experience. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

Much to my surprise, it was about as lively as I had remembered it. The Alley was established during Covid times and offered a retreat to escape from the humdrum of the homestead. These days, its friendly vibe welcomes neighbors and visitors with a backyard setting strewn with twinkle lights and family-style tables. It's a causal scene and easy to soak in the live music, sunlight/moonlight, and neighborly banter. The layout resembles an alley with shops on either side, big open doors invite you to grab something to eat, sample a drink, or shop for handmade gifts. On one side, you've got craft brews and coffee roasters. On the other side, it's local wines and piping hot pizzas. Dogs are welcome all around. At the center of it all, there's live music on the weekends. Modeled after a Beer & Wine Garden concept, The Alley features Enegren Brewery (beer), Lucas Sellers (wine), California Coffee Republic (java), Fire & Vice (pizza), and The Craft House (non-alcoholic tchotchkes). As a self-proclaimed wino, I opted for a sampling of the Lucas Sellers Wines. Ashley, who was behind the bar and top of the pours, gave me good suggestions and offered anecdotes about each wine on tap. At the end of the night, my light pinot paired perfectly with the Mushroom Arugula pizza from Fire & Vice. And I felt right at home, surrounded by friends.
