We came in to get dinner but it was hard what to order but my wife tells me let's get the fish n chips her favorite meal. Yes we did we ordered the fish n chips and a side of coconut shrimp,we waiting for they call my name. Everything is made to order and everything is made fresh daily that's why the California Fish Grill is very popular who loves seafood. They call my name I pick up our meal it looks so good. The fish was cook nicely tender and crispy and so good adding tartar sauce makes so good but adding malt vinegar make the fish more flavor and layers amazing flavor like the fries taste good but adding malt vinegar add explosive flavors in the fries more exciting. I asked for a substitution request upon ordering. It was for protein substitute on a sustainable bowl. The protein substitute could've been the choice of the manager, I wanted the swai omitted, the texture doesn't agree with me. The cashier said he said no substitutions. My total tab at that time was 38.00 plus and I was planning on ordering more. I cancelled everything. I took my over 50.00 order and spent some place else. Every time I come to this restaurant I spend close to 40.00, sometimes more. I've used Grub hub to deliver for me from here. And I can't be granted a substitution. We have been here about five times and this will probably be our last. The quality has gone down substantially. They didn't have anything wild caught, everything farm raised with wild caught pricing. The man at the door says multiple items are wild caught so I ordered and when I asked they said that menu was outdated. We ordered two salmon plates. I had a very disappointing experience at this location. I placed a to-go order and requested white rice and salmon, but I was given brown rice instead. When I approached Keena to let her know, she dismissed my request and handed me another side of brown rice. I went back a second time to clarify, and again she dismissed me. Only then did she tell me they were "out of white rice," so I chose a different side. My order sat on the counter for about five minutes, and suddenly when George came out, white rice appeared. By that point I was frustrated, and I do acknowledge that I shouldn't have used profanity, but the situation escalated because of how dismissive the interaction felt. Before all of this, I had also asked for ketchup and was ignored until she finally handed it to me. This is not the level of customer service anyone should receive. Owner: I encourage you to check your cameras; everything is clearly documented. Also, if white rice isn't available, the staff should ask before substituting items. And please have employees wear name badges, customers should know who they're interacting with. I also dined in, and unfortunately the dinner wasn't enjoyable either.
