My salad orders are usually very nearly packed and I can't remember missing any condiments, or getting my orders shorted or mixed up... (Sadly I can't say the same for the Guys from McD's, for instance). As my Grandma used to say "Good food takes time to prepare", these guys don't skip a bit, but rest assured that they stay on top of their orders, I just witnessed 4 to five take out and delivery drivers be sent out in well under 10 minutes. Imbalanced between fresh food/burgers, kind staff, and a playlist that's just too loud..for me anyways-dealbreaker. I love the layout at the Habit, on Firestone, in Downey. Spacious booths, lots of table space, big food trays!-big windows that have full blinds to block the Socal sun, high visibilty, modern bathrooms. Not a bad homework spot!-but distractions are high here. We had a coupon BOGO double char burger-we hadn't been here in a couple years. If I saw this in a painting, or a big photo in a frame, then a different angle showed the plenteous parking, I would think, this looks like a soon to be favorite place of mine. Well lit, clean and modern. But pictures, and paintings don't reveal volume. I had 3M push-in ear-plugs in, and even with them in the grinding noise felt just too small of a distance away, but palpable, and too loud. Our church has a concert like praise band every Sunday-my ear plugs do a great job muting it down. The general staff-hourly were quite nice- I could never work there though, or spend a relaxing time with room on both ends of eating because the "mood music" felt overwhelming, dominating the experience. I looked around and people didn't seem to be aware of it. My wife admitted it was quite loud. We ate, but left soon after because the music/noise was un-ignorable. Escaping out to the parking lot was a sweet relief. I went home feeling full, but drained. The freshness, and flavor was identical to Nexxburger on Florence, but about twice the price even with a BOGO coupon! Semi-pricey burgers, with overly-amped music, made it a fight for me to endure. Nexxburgers music gets loud, but not like the the Habit. I would make it in here often if they had light music, or none. We'll choose peace instead. I have been to many Habits, many times and Yelped or not Yelped so here is a Five star owed, to Habit Firestone. To be honest my driver tried a short cut due to construction traffic and I did actually eat here, this time. The Habit food is consistently good tasting. The service is fantastic, unfortunately I do receive my orders consistently slightly wrong, not exactly how I order it. That said, it usually tastes better than I expected. If you ask me,"where would you like to go and eat"? My choice is either the Habit, In-N-Out. I like good taste and consistency. I think its this specific habit location. So we love habit the foods good and all is great but this location please needs to work on the smell. The last time i walked in there was a couple months ago and it was the same. It looks visually clean but it smells like a public park restroom. The smell takes over as soon as you walk in and it's pretty off putting. I don't know if it's something they're using but its not like a cleaner like a pine sole or some type of cleaner smell , is really more like musty, like public restroom where i had to take the food to go. Habit Burger and Chick-fil-A in Downey share a parking lot. I parked there and ordered a chicken sandwich. Which restaurant did I order from? Most people would understandably say Chick-fil-A, but believe it or not, the answer in this case is Habit Burger. Recently, Habit Burger had a promotion promoting their Chicken Club sandwich, which is a marinated chicken breast with lettuce, tomatoes, bacon, avocado, and mayo between two pieces of toasted sourdough. Kind of like a Santa Barbara Char, but with chicken instead of beef patties. Also, the Chicken Club has bacon whereas the Santa Barbara Char would have caramelized onions, American Cheese, and pickles. I've had the Santa Barbara Char numerous times before, but I've recently had to change my diet to avoid red meat as much as possible. Habit Burger promoted their Chicken Club at just the right time. For this promo, you could get a free Chicken Club sandwich with a $2+ purchase, a wonderful deal considering that sandwich is normally priced at $10.79! I had a difficult time trying to decide how to make $2 without making another meal out of it until I came across the Tempura Green Beans. Yelp OCA (Online Community Ambassador) Joyce W used to always ask me, "How were the tempura green beans?!" when I never actually tried them. I didn't think I'd like them because I'm not a big fan of tempura, but considering my recent diet change, which also includes cutting out the deep fried goodness of fries, I just had to go for them to see if they really were worth the hype. When I arrived, nobody was in line to order, but it still took a while for someone to take my order. I don't blame them because they have a couple of order kiosks between the front door and the front counter. However, the free Chicken Club offer was through the app, and I wasn't sure if I'd be able to redeem that on a kiosk. I would have been willing to try if there was a line, but since there wasn't, I simply went up to the cashier to place my order. Placing my order was easy peasy, but I'm a little surprised the cashier didn't ask if everything on the sandwich was okay. It didn't really bother me since I wanted everything on that sandwich, but maybe that was just a one-off. I also asked for a water cup, and I'm glad they had lids *and* straws at a side counter by the drink dispenser. At the usual Habit Burger location I go to, I would have had to ask for a straw. I only waited about 8 minutes before my buzzer buzzed, letting me know my order was ready. I was expecting napkins to be on the tray, but I didn't realize there were no napkins on my tray until I went outside. The reason why I went outside is because I wanted to give my hands a quick rinse before eating, and I wouldn't have wanted to do it on a table inside. I was pleased that the cashier offered me a cup of ranch to go with my tempura green beans. The outdoor patio has plenty of seating, so it would make for a nice meal al fresco. Unfortunately, the weather was really wacky that one minute, it was pretty hot, but the next minute, it was pretty windy! Things kept blowing away, but luckily, not my food! As for the sandwich and the tempura green beans, i did enjoy them for the most part. The tempura green beans were nicely coated with the tempura batter, though I was a little disappointed the batter was easily removed for some of the green beans. They went well with the ranch dressing, and so did the Chicken Club. The Chicken Club wasn't quite as good as the Santa Barbara Char, but for a chicken sandwich, it was pretty good. I was a little disappointed that the bacon was almost burnt to a crisp, and the bacon is usually the best part of a BLAT sandwich, which the Chicken Club would be without the chicken. I didn't taste much of the avocado, but honestly, those were my only grievances with this sandwich. The ranch enhanced the taste of the sandwich quite a bit, so I tried to not use too much of it while eating the tempura green beans. However, I doubt I'd pay full price for it again. I'd only get it again when there's a good deal on the Habit Burger app. Otherwise, you could get two Charburgers sans cheese for almost the same price. I was also pleased with their pepper station. The jalapeno and chili peppers they had looked pretty fresh. Don't forget these peppers before you leave! Overall, it was a good lunch. Not the best obviously, especially with the wind, but since Habit Burger can't do anything about the weather, I'm definitely not factoring that into my rating. It'd be a 7 out of 10 for me, but closer to 8 instead of 6. While there were some blemishes in my meal, I don't think they were enough to elicit a canned "Let us make this right" response, and I wouldn't want them to try to make it right in this case. However, I doubt I'd be back at this location simply because it's kind of far from me. The only reason why I ended up here was because I had an appointment nearby just before lunchtime. read more

I love coming to this location because it is so big, the staff is friendly, and it is located near Stonewood Mall. There is also a lot of parking as there is also a chic fit a in the lot. The sides are amazing and my absolute favorite is the tempura green beans. This location isn't too busy and it is pretty calm inside. They are also open pretty late as well. Upon walking in I could tell something was up, there were two ladies waiting and two guys who wanted to order at the register but the lady working was not interested in taking their order. So they ordered through the kiosk as did we. As we went to look for a table, most were dirty, we finally found a cleanish one towards the back. They had the front doors open so it was cold in the restaurant. My husband got up to go get napkins and ketchup and he said there was hardly anything over there. We realized at that point they could be closing soon. Sure enough we felt terrible. I immediately went over to the lady who looked like she couldn't be bothered and asked her to make ours to go and I apologized. As someone that used to work in a restaurant I felt terrible. The ladies received their food, then they called our number, even though the guys ordered before us. I thought it was weird but grabbed the bag anyway. I didn't bother to check it mainly because how could she screw this up. Well, I was wrong, they could. We got home and we got someone else's order. And it might have been ok but the burgers were sloppily put together and so messy. The patties were falling apart. What is a miso mango crunch salad without the mango salsa !!!! That is what makes this salad!!! The burgers were juicy and flavorful, now, Downey's location doesn't do it for me. I've given it quite a few chances. Burgers are dry, un flavorful and lettuce is always wilted. I really don't know how many times this Habit location has to mess up in order for me to learn my lesson and never come back. Well, this may have been the last straw. Both my orders of fries were BURNT. You couldn't even eat them because they were so burnt. It took every ounce of me not to take these back. On several other occasions I've been to this location something is always wrong with my order or the food is very poorly made and rushed.
