I have worked with California Loyal Movers for four moves over seven years. I am strongly loyal to them because they are absolutely fantastic movers--skillful, careful, and friendly. They have moved the same rickety furniture from place to place, understanding its idiosyncrasies and remarkably managing to keep it intact in each new destination. From the two-tier nightstand I assembled years ago using IKEA tables and duct tape to our TV credenza with a broken leg to fragile glass cases displaying kids' memorabilia, every item has survived move after move. I hired Marco's crew to do our move. Four gentlemen came on time and completed our move roughly in the amount of time i expected at the price i expected. They weren't the beefiest guys, but they were careful and experienced. There was no nonsense, no standing around, just old fashioned hard work. The only unpleasant part of the experience was that the cloth they used to wrap our furniture for the move to prevent damage somehow bled a small blue spot on our carpet, maybe because there was a wet spot? This is my second time using Marco's team. I have moved a LOT and these guys are the best movers out there. They have been able to schedule my moves on short notice for the exact days and times that I have needed. They work fast but carefully and the cost is on the cheap side of reasonable. For both my local moves they came on the first day to do the packing. Four/five guys and a massive truck show up right on time and after being shown around they get right to work. Not a single item was broken in either move. Packing and loading the truck takes a whole day (three bedroom house and full garage). The next day they arrived at the new house and promptly began unloading and putting together furniture. Everything is moved and placed exactly where you want it so you don't have to any of the heavy lifting on your own. They were able to get the truck unloaded in record time - this move took about 5 hours. With everything placed in the right spot all we had to do was unpack the boxes. After all is unpacked we called Marco and he sent someone out to collect all the boxes and paper which meant one last thing that we had to deal with. While we are hoping not to need to move again for a long time, if we do we will be calling Marco. read more

Marco was the manager initializing the moving project 2 weeks before the moving day, actively keeping me posted with the moving day/time and the estimated moving labor/material/fuel costs. I've used this company twice in the last 3 years and would easily use them again if we move again. Marco (the owner) is extremely professional and is very responsive (answers your call immediately, etc). I described my unique situation (remodeling, so some things in storage, some things moved, etc) and Marco was able to spell out every options clearly. I also found their prices to be very reasonable - for both the labor and any special packing supplies that are needed. The mover team itself was extremely experienced. They packed certain items for long term storage and their ability to get wrap, cardboard, and filler material over oddly shaped items borders on an art form. They error on over protection, but without any upcharge on extra materials etc. In fact there was one instance where they wrapped something by mistake, and they didn't even charge me for materials. Every now and then you do business with a company that impresses you enough that you stop looking for alternatives. These movers are it for me and are my goto when I need anything moved. read more

I hate moving more than just about anything. I have moved on average once every two years for the past 12 years, and it causes me great angst. We moved a year ago and weren't planning on moving again, but we were fortunate enough to be able to buy a house just before our lease was up so it was time to move again. The last time I moved I swore I'd pay for packing services but when push came to shove I couldn't swallow the cost. This time, with three kids in tow and even more stuff, I knew we had to bite the bullet. Based on my past experiences I decided I wanted to go for a step above the usual budget movers I'd used before, as they are sometimes grumpy or gruff or careless and I didn't need the extra stress in my life. So I searched Yelp for the next tier and spoke to maybe five or six different companies to get estimates. The estimates ranged from 10 hours to 20 hours for a full pack and move, and Loyal/Marco were on the high end. I didn't actually believe they could get everything done in one long day so I felt like Marco was maybe the most realistic of the bunch. That was worth points to me, so I ended up going with them even though their estimate was well above everyone else's. He also told me he didn't think everything could fit on one truck and warned me ahead of time it might take two trips, so we tried to cut down on our stuff before the move. We packed and moved our fragile and personal items ahead of time, and carefully marked things that shouldn't be packed. I was glad I took the time to do that because the packers were so freaking fast, they swooped through the house leaving nothing behind. They got probably 95% of our 3/2 1600SF house in just over 9 hours. We didn't realize they were going to load the truck as they packed (though that makes sense), so we ended up sleeping in an empty house that night (some of us in sleeping bags on bare mattresses--I had told them to leave the mattresses but forgot to tell them to leave the bedding!). All in all it took about 15-16 hours, and since we provided a lot of boxes from our previous move they ended up using less material than Marco estimated so the total cost came in right around where the other companies had quoted. The team was incredibly professional and courteous, saying excuse me, thank you and you're welcome about 100x more than I've ever heard from a mover. They were careful with our stuff, didn't grumble when I asked them to take something back downstairs or rearrange something, and never made me feel rushed or stressed out. They actually were the least stressful part of the whole move (the most stressful part being when the kids came home and started tearing through the stacks of boxes and trying to throw themselves down the stairs). I'm glad I decided to go for a more premium experience and I'd definitely use them again in the future. read more

Summary: definitely recommend, have them pack for you, they'll be much faster and are less likely to break things than you are! 2 months ago as I was reading the earlier reviews I remember thinking "I hope I have a 5-star Yelp review experience!" And I definitely did. Marco and his team are professional, kind, courteous and hard working. I had called several places for a quote and for the level of service they were offering, Loyal Movers was significantly less than their competitors. The quote included packing up our kitchen and clothes which was such a great choice. Marco estimated the entire move would take 7-8 hours and cost $200-300 for material (we had already picked up some used boxes). We ended up having a lot of extra things for them to pack and they needed a ton of material to pack our fragile items. However, they still came within the quote amount! It ended up taking 7.5 hrs and costing $225 for material - pretty accurate estimate! Marco was also very flexible. We had to cancel a few days before our planned move because our mortgage hadn't been approved and we weren't sure what our new move in date would be. Once we closed on the house we called him back and were able to get on his schedule a few days later. Martín led the crew at our place and all 3 were excellent. They didn't need us at all so we were able to clean the apartment while they moved us out. We had anticipated returning to our apartment that night to finish cleaning before we returned the keys, but we had so much spare time that we just cleaned during the move and returned the keys on our way out with the movers! read more

When I sent requests out for quotes Marco responded back to me super quickly, and even hopped on a FaceTime with me to see everything I wanted moved to give me an accurate estimate of how long it would take and pricing. He was so delightful to speak with, and his rates were far better than others I had seen so I booked him during this call. I originally wanted them to do all my packing, but Marco advised I could save some money if I started the packing on my own and then whatever I couldn't finish his team would do. The day before my move Marco called to confirm the move with me and assured me his team could finish packing what I couldn't. He also confirmed they would be providing me with wardrobe boxes to borrow at no additional charge (LOVE). The day of I was told my window of arrival was between 8-9am. The team showed up right at 8am ready to go! The foreman I worked with was Martin who was just awesome. He showed me again the quote Marco and I had agreed on and went over how the day would go, then went right to work! I had only finished packing maybe 50% of my place but Martin and his team worked so fast they had loaded everything onto the truck before noon! After their break and lunch they met us at our new house. Unloading everything took a little over 2 hours (again, this team works FAST). They even rolled out mats in our house for their walking paths so our floors wouldn't get dirty. We were originally quoted this job would take around 12 hours, but Martin and his team finished in under 8 hours, which far surpassed my expectations!
