What's up: Dinner with the family. This time we decided to grab some pizza and pasta at the Shops at Santa Anita. Parking: Mall parking is plentiful and depending when you go, it can get busy. We went around 6 pm and we were able to easily find a spot in their underground parking lot. Environment: Located inside the mall, it's on the first floors and not too far from Macy's. We told the staff that we brought our doggo and they seated us in the area that was closer to the mall side. We were even given a coloring set for the kiddo. Staff members were attentive and came by often to check up on us. What was ordered: - Avocado Club Egg Rolls (crispy) - BBQ Chicken Chopped Salad (good) - Wild Mushroom Pizza (tasty mushrooms) - The Works Pizza (yummy classic toppings) - Chicken Piccata (flavorful) - Cedar Plank Salmon (good, salmon was nice and moist) Yay/Nay/Meh: Yay. I usually really like CPK's avocado egg rolls. They're normally my go to whenever I come here, so I already knew what I wanted. I was at the mall and wanted a quick bite, so I decided to dine in. After getting seated, I immediately noticed there were quite a few flies around, which already made me a little weary about eating there. A table next to me was seated shortly after I was, but the server went over and took their order first even though I had been sitting there before them. Between that and the flies, I decided I would rather just get my food to go. When I told them I wanted takeout instead, the lady told me I needed to go to another counter to place my order. I ordered the avocado egg rolls there and waited about 10 minutes for them to be ready. Since it was takeout, the egg rolls came in a box with the dipping sauce in two small containers. When I opened the box, I was honestly a little disappointed. The rolls looked smaller than what I usually get at CPK, and they didn't look nearly as stuffed either. Flavor wise, they still tasted like the avocado egg rolls I normally enjoy, but the skin was overfried. It was so hard and crispy that it actually scraped the roof of my mouth while I was eating, which made them pretty unpleasant to eat. The filling was also meager compared to what I'm used to, so there wasn't enough of that creamy filling to balance out the fried wrapper. I've had these avocado egg rolls plenty of times and normally really enjoy them, so I know what they're usually like. Unfortunately, between the dining experience and the quality of the egg rolls this time, I can't say I enjoyed them nearly as much. read more

Chain restaurants are hard to rate because we have expectations. If we are real though, chain restaurants aren't always satisfying anymore. Where the expectation is convenience, rather than excellence. Which is kind of sad. Especially today. This review is probably more about the experience than the food. We came and were seated by the kitchen. Right off the bat, the guy who was at the pass of the kitchen was chewing out a waiter saying things like "well you can tell them we don't do that! Why would you even tell them we would be able to accommodate that." Later, they served us our meal and the same guy asked if everything was ok? As my boyfriend was going to ask for more ranch, he walked away... why would you ask if everything was ok if you don't care and are just going to walk away? My fettuccine Alfredo came, it was SUPER watery. I wasn't going to say anything but my boyfriend spoke up because he heard our server even make an uneasy noise looking at us scoop the liquidy cream sauce. She said yeah it's not supposed to be like that. As she took it to this same guy (that has been causing a hostile environment for the rest of the staff) and kitchen, said "what do you mean?? That's how it's supposed to look! It's perfectly fine." Continued basically gaslighting saying there's not much more they can do. It was hostile enough that we didn't want to speak up on the other numerous issues we had. First, my mom had ordered the new spinach artichoke lasagna, corrected them as they almost ordered the short rib lasagna, then served us the short rib lasagna anyways.. like a true fatty fam, my mom ate it anyways. I didn't really like the pressure that they forced asking if the pasta was right, when they told us "there's not much they can do." Great location! This location is very convenient for us. We usually come and put our name down, then walk around until we get a text letting us know the table is ready. Service is a hit or miss. It really depends who you get and how busy they are. Carol is one of the servers that stand out, but I don't know if she still works here. Carol was one of the best servers for this . There always seen to be flies and/or gnats flying in the dining area. This is a huge turn off for a restaurant. I guess I only come back here for the convenience of the location. The food is good. It really depends what you get, and I usually stick to my usuals... Some of my all-time favorites are: chicken tequila fettuccine, Kung Pao spaghetti, Thai chicken Pizza, wild mushroom pizza and of course the barbecue chicken pizza. The complimentary bread that is served with olive oil is quite good. I always ask for balsamic vinegar to go along with it and it adds so much more flavor. My recently tried the Thai crunch salad and the carne asada pizza. They were both pretty good. To wrap it up, it's a very convenient place to eat and the food is good overall. However, the flies and gnats that fly around kind of ruin the dining experience. It had been quite some time since my last visit to this location, and I noticed a more open seating arrangement. We were pleasantly surprised that there wasn't a significant wait for dinner. However, we were a bit disappointed to find that the shrimp scampi pizza was no longer available on the menu. We were asked if we would care for some bread. In the past, bread was typically provided complimentary without needing to be requested. Naturally, we accepted the offer. The Spinach Artichoke Dip was not as thick as we've experienced at other restaurants; it was a bit more fluid. It arrived before the bread. We were pleased when the bread did arrive, as it was softer than we recalled. We ordered three different pizzas. One of the pizzas included cilantro, which was not indicated on the menu. We ended up removing all the cilantro from that particular pizza. We also requested additional BBQ sauce for the original BBQ chicken pizza. While the toppings on the Sicilian pizza were delightful, we found the crust to be somewhat soggy. The cornicione, however, was quite good. We appreciated the freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Having a lunch meeting with my friend and we stopped here for the second time. This place is always neat and clean. It was on a weekday so there were no much wait. The waiter greeted us with a smile and seated us quickly. We saw the new item-- steak salad and Thai shrimp as the appetizer and decided to give them a try like we always do!! CPK in Arcadia--hands down the worst service experience I've ever had. We walked in on Sunday around 4:30 PM. It wasn't busy, and we were greeted immediately. The hostess tried to take us to a booth in the back, but I asked if we could sit in the main area at a table where a party had just left. She said to wait while it was cleaned, then walked away. We stood there waiting while the dirty table sat completely untouched. When I asked the hostess for an update, she brushed me off with, "I'm only a hostess, I don't know," and literally ignored me. We finally flagged down a manager, who listened to our complaint, did absolutely nothing to resolve it, and then vanished. When I went back to the hostess, she gave me attitude: "I tried to give you a table, but you didn't want it." Is "silence is golden" your customer service policy now? Unbelievable that management and staff think treating customers like an inconvenience is acceptable. We definitely won't be back. read more

This location is on the second floor on the Macy's side of the mall. It's nice looking and cleans. There's plenty of seating inside and outside. The staff was friendly and helpful. The host seemed tired but that's not problem. The bread they give for the table was actually decent. It was crisp while soft. I got the mushroom pepperoni sausage pizza. It was pretty good. Not too oily and well balanced amount of toppings. The thin crust was crispy. I only ended up eating half, maybe could've have a fourth slice. People on Tik Tok kept hyping up this dish and talking about how they changed the recipe and how good it was. I was once again a victim of these Tik Tok lies! One of the great places to eat at when visiting the The Shops Santa Anita. Never had a long wait. You can call in before hand so you don't have a long wait. Everyone loves the pizza here. The mushroom pepperoni sausage is one of my family's go tos. If you're not feeling pizza there are other plates to choose from. There are different pasta and salad creations to choose from the menu. Our waitress was Lauren and she was so amazingly lovely and attentive. She made great suggestions and always checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. From the start, the free bread was perfectly toasted and great with the herb olive oil (ask for balsamic on the side) She suggested the spinach dip and it was a great starter, surprisingly large portion! Unfortunately they didn't any of the cravings I was having anymore. The wardolf salad l...gone! The Gorgonzola pear pizza...gone! I was bummed! So I tried the Thai crunch chicken salad. It was great. Good crunch, great flavor. Could have used some extra dressing, but overall great. Husband order the pepporini pizza with ham and sausage. Also another great choice. For the appetizer we had the Mexican corn and that was probably my favorite of all the meal. Another favorite was fountain Fresca! One of my favorites. Me and my husband ate today 07/30/2026 around 530 pm. The last time we ate here is 5 or 7 years ago. And we really love the service and the food. This is the second time I ate there today. My reviews are: First. The receptionist is rude. She turned her back at us. Without asking what we need. Second: they put us near the service area, we requested for table transfer. A young man accommodate us, thank you Third: there's flies going around our table. I called the attention of one of the person in uniform. There's no apology: she said that their restaurant is outside and near the racetrack. So it's expected that there is flies around the restaurant that we pay to eat? Fourt: I ordered pizza. Thin crust vegetable. They gave an old one. Stale and hard soft? The shrimp scampi with suchini that my husband ordered the noodle is hard, shrimp is good. I'm gonna make a complaint in department of health regarding sanitation and cleanliness of your restaurant. Flies should not be flying around foods. What I expect the inside of the kitchen? We went to CPK today because we we're starving. Really quickly I will say I grew up going to this CPK and the service was always so bad, which is why I hate going. Today they took such a LONG time to bring out our food. Not only is service long but the waitress there took our order wrong, no problem. The waitress puts in a new order for us after getting it wrong... Tell me why it takes 15 MINUTES to bring out an italian salad... I'm lost. Anyway, I truly believe the management at this CPK has always been so terrible because they consistently lack good and timely service. The restaurant is located inside the Arcadia mall. We came to also use a free kid meal voucher my daughter received as part of summer reading for the library. We ordered the fussili pasta with meat sauce, margherita pizza, italian chopped salad and the husvand wanted the oktoberfest beer. I was pleasantly surprised by the kid meal pasta. I really liked it.
