The only reason I am giving this place a 5 star review is for the waiter Jose who is very kind & was very attentive to my Husband & I. We ordered the Mexican Street Corn which comes with 2 small slices of grilled bread. The appetizer was very good. We also ordered a pizza with Mushrooms all over & green peppers on 1 half. The pizza is just ok. Nothing special. The portions of the appetizer & pizza are not too much. We do not eat a lot. But it would have been nice to have some leftovers. My husband did not like the pizza at all. The toppings were also very skimpy. Kind of pricey for the small portions of food. Maybe the lunch specials are better deals during the week? Hand tossed original pizza crust was a nice combination of crunchy and chewy. The salads were hearty and generous portions. The staff members were friendly, however, the food took a really long time to prepare and be served due to being short staffed. There was a summer special for $6 pizzas however was limited to 5 pizzas per table (rather than per check) We were out to dinner with friends and had a large group. Although we were able to split the checks between each family, I was disappointed we were not allowed to order the limit for each of our families. I have to start out by saying our server Zack was one of the absolute BEST servers I've ever had anywhere. He is so kind, attentive, knowledgeable, and hardworking! He anticipated our needs so we didn't need to ask and wait around for refills, he brought extra napkins with out us having to ask, a server who does their job without having to be asked always elevates the dinning experience even if the food is just alright. The food: we ordered the buffalo cauliflower as our appetizer which was good but I wish there had been just a little more but taste and presentation were good. We split the Cobb salad and ordered the 5 cheese and tomato pizza but added sausage to it. Everything tasted good however I do wish the pizza was cooked maybe another 2 minutes. Visited tonite and had a very attentive server. I had specifically asked for alcoholi drinks that were not carbonated as I have issues with carbonation, i was assured my drink choice would not have carbonation but after the first sip - i could tell there was carbonation. As my friend was treating me to dinner i didn't want to make a big deal out of it and just mentioned to our server about the carbonation. She said that the rose has carbonation and i'm like 'didn't i ask for no carbonation drinks?'. I took a few sips and just couldn't pretend to drink it anymore. Mediocre experience at an outdated place. I hadn't been to CPK for 10+ years and I'm sorry to say it didn't improve with age. We got the original BBQ Chicken pizza ($18.99), Mexican street corn ($6.99)and a Blueberry Lemon Drop Martini. We cancelled the martini when we saw the lady making it with unwashed blueberries right out of the package (she didn't wash her hands or put on gloves either). The pizza was pitiful compared to the ones I've had there in the past. There was hardly any bbq sauce on it and it was overly dry. Flavor was lacking and it was small for the price. The street corn flavor was mild but overall ok. It came with two slices of toasted bread, which wasn't enough to go with the corn. It wasn't "authentic tasting" like the server said. I don't recommend. The server was really nice and helpful. She was attentive most of the time but seemed to disappear when we were done with our food. This led to us waiting 15+ minutes after finishing before seeing her again to pay. It was pretty crowded in there around 7 pm on a Friday but cleared quickly. We were there for about 75 minutes and it was fairly empty by the time we left. Parking is plentiful, especially if you're ok walking a bit. Overall, CPK is an outdated place that seems to be trying to become relevant again with an updated menu and a Buffalo Wild Wings type of atmosphere. I hope they can turn it around as I used to enjoy it there but won't be going back anytime soon. read more

California Pizza Kitchen comes highly recommended after the lunch I recently had there. My mother and I went here for a lunch and we had a great experience. The meal started with bread and olive oil with herbs. The bread was fresh and tasted great. We both decided to get something off of the lunch specials menu. For $11.99 you get to choose between a half sandwich or seven inch pizza with a salad, or soup. We both had the Tomato Basil Bisque (With a touch of cream, topped with housemade garlic butter croutons.). This was delicious and tasted great on a cold day. I also had the seven inch Original BBQ Chicken Pizza (Created here in 1985. Our legendary BBQ sauce, smoked Gouda, red onions and fresh cilantro transform this original to iconic.). I always go for what a restaurant is known for. And I was not disappointed. This pizza is legendary for a reason, the flavors just pair very well together. My mother had the half Oven-Roasted Turkey + Brie Sandwich (With shaved Granny Smith apple, spring mix and housemade honey-mustard.). The sandwich was excellent and the Granny Smith apple added some crunch and sweetness to the dish. We had a coupon from our last visit. When you combine that with a sealed Thank You Card envelope with a special gift also from our last visit (which turned out to be worth ten percent off) a great deal became even better. The server we had was very welcoming and attentive. I highly recommend California Pizza Kitchen. Try it for lunch and you won't be disappointed. read more

Came here for a spontaneous dinner tonight with one of my friends. We were seated immediately despite a crowded parking lot, which was a nice surprise. The restaurant was pretty quiet , and it was quite relaxing. Our server was pleasant enough, and certainly attentive. But he wasn't the type that would encourage a return trip for me. Yes, I do go back to places based off the staff. Sometimes I'll even give a place with mediocre food a second chance just because the people were fun! Anyway... Our food was... fine. Yummy enough but the pizza definitely could have been hotter and it wasn't cut particularly well . Picky? Maybe. But details matter people! I will say, our dessert was delicious! I'm not typically the biggest fan of red velvet cake, however the pairing with white chocolate makes it extra delicious here. Definitely opt in for the ice cream because it ends up soaking into the cake a little bit as it melts and oh my yum! I would still go back, but it's just not somewhere I'm going to rush back to. Came for a Wednesday evening dinner with family. The hostess sat us, we waited for about 10 minutes before anyone came to the table. Multiple waitresses walked past our table, we made eye contact and no one greeted us, said hello or we will be with you shortly. Service was super poor, and we've been to multiple CPK restaurants.. the deer park position continues to have poor costumer service. No water refills, had to get up to go get it. Food was good, only thing our group didn't like was the bbq chicken pizza, super dry, and pretty much had nothing on it. I love this place and location. First, bread on the table immediately with dipping oil is a great touch. We're often a little famished coming here from a long ride to visit my parents so that bread is a life saver. Next, a relatively Huge collection of mocktails on the menu. Which include calorie information! That's wild how awesome that is for us trying to stay away from alcohol but aren't trying to replace it with sugar bombs. And then let's talk about the pizza. We've enjoyed CPK pizza in our past but we tend to eat gluten free these days. So the gluten free pizza is gonna suck right? Nope! They've got a tremendous cauliflower crust you can get with any of their pizzas. Last night everyone enjoyed everything they got. My mom, whose been a fairly picky eater now, devoured her salmon. We are going to keep coming here as our goto meet up spot with the parents. And I'm excited to try their "take n bake" pizzas too for just $8! Asked for some that was fresh but never got it. The Chicken Fettuccine was supposed to have spinach fettuccine, green and yellow peppers and chicken. It came plain Fettuccine and no peppers. The sauce was separated and lumpy. And very little, tiny cubes of chicken. All this for $20.00. Politely mentioned to the server, but no apologies. Compare my pictures with the menu! I have been coming to this place for so long and so happy to see it's still open during covid! I ordered a tostada pizza online and was able to do curbside pickup. It was ready in 15 minutes and each curbside spot has a phone number on it to call and then you let them know the spot's number so they can come out to drop it off. The service was great and I thank the employees for working during these hard times! The tostada pizza was nice and warm. So first off I want to say thank you for the amazing experience. The food was good but the atmosphere smelt like someone threw a bunch of shit all over the walls and floors. But to each is own on the preference of smell. I got a pizza which wasn't bad but it had no sauce on it at all not even a drop like they forgot to put sauce so i just got dough that's it which is how I like it even though I ordered a supreme pizza. He was very polite, answered all our many questions graciously and honored our requests with a smile. He is a great server. HOWEVER, it arrived without the bread that it is served with it in the restaurant, which for that amount of money is very annoying. Ask for Zach! Very few times have I had such pleasant service at a restaurant. Zach was extremely kind, attentive, and wasn't afraid to crack a few jokes following my families humor! Of course, his bubbly personality wasn't the only thing that captivated our interest, the food we were blessed with made us crave more despite us being full. I love that this place has some vegetarian options that are labeled as such on the menu. Their new plant based chicken pizza is pretty good. I really like their smashed avocado focaccia although I'd call it a flatbread more than a focaccia. They have tasty soups 2 vegetarian I believe and one of those might be vegan. Their rewards program is great! Offering great deals like buy one get one free meals often. It has potential to get better but from where it stands it's fine once awhile but not something I particularly crave. First of all they don't often add new items and when they do it's temporary or not vegetarian anyways and can be really short lived before I've even gotten a chance to go in to get it. For instance an exciting vegan pizza was added!! A few months later when I noticed already gone. Which leads to the next thing please add some vegan options! For vegan here it's very limited. The flavor is also just sometimes lacking. Sounds all great then not much to write home about. Portion sizes are also hit or miss. All in all it's not a bad place, friendly, great rewards and some decent food but has some room for improvement. read more

My usual go to is Ribeye with Asparagus (rather than potatoes) or the Roasted Veggie salad (minus corn) but at the last visit I went with the Shrimp Scampi dish minus the Tagliatelle. Add parmesan on top and you've got the perfect low carb meal. The sauce is creamy, the shrimp on point! Also always have great and friendly service at CPK that never makes me feel bad for having special requests. Highly recommend joining their rewards program too for freebies. Upon arrival, we noticed a half empty restaurant with a number of dirty tables waiting to be cleaned up after guests. We were seated promptly after being offered a few tables right by the door. The cold air blowing from people arriving made these tables very unfavorable. Additionally, parking lot pickup made servers run out every few minutes, allowing for more cold air to enter the dining area. Our server was prompt and the food came out fast. The Sicilian and the Margarita pizzas were flavorful and hot; avocado egg rolls tasty. Apart from the atmosphere and the cleanliness, the service and the food was pleasant.
