Just had a pretty good meal. I am not really into chain restaurants but this place was close to route 17 where I had been shopping earlier. Our server and the service was way above average. Rob was so attentive, nice and helpful. I really love good service and we got it here!! We started with a bianco flatbread. So good!!! Anything with cheese, truffle and sage is heaven on earth in my book. Shared the kung pao chicken and a thai crunch salad with my dining partners. Both were good and just enough food for 3. Amazing food and amazing service. We were seated right away on a busy Saturday, Get the full sized salad, you won't be disappointed! Everything tasted fresh and made to order. The Moroccan Chicken salad was great (if you like extra dressing make sure you ask for it on the side, as they don't drown your salad in it). Just wish it was spicier. The Roasted Garlic and Chicken pizza was also really tasty and fresh. Had great flavor! Our waitress was friendly, quick and attentive. If you are going for lunch on the weekend try to beat the rush by coming before 1230pm or you'll be waiting a while. Service was great my waiter was very attentive and kept our water glasses full. He gave us bread right away and took our orders quickly. Try the wheat hummus for appetizer and Thai chicken pizza. I personally like the crust and the flavor of the dish. Well this is just your average CPK. We got here on a Saturday afternoon and as expected the place was packed. Nevertheless we got a table in a timely manner and even got pretty good service. The food unfortunately didn't quite meet our expectations - I've been to a few CPKs in my life and I would rate this below average. I have been here a few times as it's been a staple of the mall forever. They even deliver within the mall if you work at one of the stores. Weekends and nights, there is usually quite a wait for this place. I do miss their shrimp summer rolls that they used to have (what an amazing appetizer). The pizzas I have ordered include the Thai Chicken and Tostada. But I feel like the toppings always overpower the pizza too much. And the pizzas are alright. They're not that out of this world. Being in North Jersey, there are definitely better pizza dough and sauces out there. The pastas are good but very heavy and a little on the oily side. The desserts are huge and delicious though especially anything with chocolate. I love chocolate. The staff is usually prompt and courteous. I have never had an issue at this CPK specifically ever. However, CPK just feels like a (slightly) higher end version of other chain restaurants (i.e., TGIF, Applebee's). The food is always way more than you need and usually just - it's alright. We were seated quickly for it being linch time. Server was nice and made good suggestion. I tried the cauliflower mushroom pizza w truffle oil. I didn't think the drop of oil made a difference for $2 more. They gave me about 1/4 of a spoon. The pizza was delicious. The crust is thin and crunchy. I loved it. I took a star off because the bathroom has broken toilet paper holder and look old and unclean. It does need t represent a location at a "high end mall". We were just there yesterday and we have never been so disappointed! In fact I doubt I'll go again. The pizza crust was burnt and as I tried to eat it, I thought, why... so I sent it back. Pizza is known for cheese too and they are getting very skimpy with it in addition to it being very dry with not much sauce. I noticed other tables had left their pizzas after a slice or two, where normally one would either eat it or ask for a take out container. Before they moved, I've never had one complaint. In addition to not enjoying my meal, I noted that no one came to take away our dishes and the tables in the outer area are small for 3 people. Im sorry I cannot write a better review. read more

This place is another go-to. I love pizza and I like the signature pizzas and seasonal pizzas they provide on their menu. The salads are great as well. I like the margarita here too, I just don't like when restaurants don't list drink prices. Called to find out if they were open on Sundays or not since the rest of the mall is closed. Some girl picked up and replied in a very sarcastic tone, "Well if I answered the phone, then I guess were open right?" I couldn't believe my ears. I ended up going since my girlfriend really wanted to go, the waitress was excellent and extremely friendly. The rest of the staff was pretty nice and welcoming as well. I just wish the girl who answered the phone take a page out of their books and behave the same way. Its a shame because I really like eating here. Last time I dined here, I paid with my credit card and I gave a generous 20% tip to my server. Few days later when I checked my credit card statement, I noticed something was off. My server decided to take more than what I originally tipped him. This place is renovated so it looks great walking in! Our waitress Maria was super nice and attentive. My girlfriend and I shared a baked potato soup salad which was absolutely delicious. For our entrees I had the garlic cream fettuccine with chicken and sautéed mushroom also very good and my girlfriend had the spicy chipotle chicken pizza and she loved it it's super spicy so if you're into spicy definitely recommend that pizza! One of the waiters had an accident and poured the entire plate of Thai peanut sauce on my favorite sweat shirt. I tried wiping it off but without any success! The middle of my sweater looked like puke on it :( The restaurant manager Jesse Eyrich came for this situation which made matters a million times worse. He was rude and humiliating. He said that he can give me $5 to buy a new sweater at JC Penny or bring back the dry cleaning receipt for reimbursement. Where do you get a $5 Nike sweatshirt?! Or any sweater that's $5?! Went there for lunch with my mother. Both of us got a lunch special. I got the half chicken club and a salad. My mom got the 5 cheese pizza and salad. we also got the peach iced tea. The peach iced tea did not have any peach syrup in it. When the food came out, we noticed that they put onions on the pizza. Have no idea where that came from. The waiter showed us there was onions on the pizza and asked if that was OK. We said no and asked if it could be remade. Once the server walked away, I started to cut into my chicken club sandwich. I noticed there was no chicken in my sandwich. When the waiter came back, I let him know. He took the sandwich and brought back the same cut sandwich with just a few slices of ice cold chicken on it. My mother and I ate our two salads and I ate the sandwich. We had finished all the food once her pizza came out. We were not able to dine together. The experience was extremely long due to waiting for our food to be remade And although the waiter apologized and seemed sincere, nothing was really done to compensate for our horrible experience there. My mother and I both love California Pizza Kitchen. We mostly frequent the location. At the short Hills mall in New Jersey. They always get it right. After we got the check, my friend had her card on her phone waiting to split the bill, the waiter took the card off her phone and run away to charge the card. Came in on a weekday after dinner rush. Waited 15 minutes for someone to come to the table. Ordered 2 pizzas 1 kids pizza and an app. . Waited another 30 minutes for the server to come back in our area and asked him how much longer it may be. He stated app coming out shortly. Watched him go to register and enter food (clearly forgot to add order the first time). 3 year old getting grumpy. Waited another 15 min or so for app to come out. 10 min later 1 pizza comes out. Has now been an hour since we sat down and we have 1 app 1 pizza and 2 missing meals. 3 year old getting crankier. Manager comes over with missing meals, we ask for it to go. Tell manager issues, he was not bothered. Server never came back (prob avoiding table) all we were looking for was a "hey I messed up I forgot to put the order in" or a manager who pretended that he cared. Can't be that difficult to at least get the kids meal ready. It's pizza not filet mignon. Left with our to go dinner and drove home with an overtired cranky hangry toddler. We were seated at a high top in the open area that was more in the mall than the restaurant. Our server Gabby was over shortly and we ordered waters with lemon, two cokes, and spinach dip for our appetizer. Unfortunately, they were out of spin dip so we got dumplings instead and then ordered our pizzas. My boyfriend got the BBQ Chicken and I got the Wild Mushroom on Cauliflower Crust with the Truffle Oil. While we were waiting for our app, we were brought bread with dipping oil. The bread was warm but a little hard - overall still good. I really enjoyed the dumplings because they weren't heavy like normal dumplings and the sauce had a kick to it. My boyfriend said his pizza was really good. Mine originally came out as regular pizza dough not cauliflower crust so I kindly mentioned it to our server and was brought out the correct one. This review is for pick up order at their new location within the mall. I made the order online for 2 pizzas, as is, no extra or omitted toppings. Took it all the way home and one of the pizzas was missing almost all of the toppings that it is supposed to come with. I called and patiently worked my way through several employees. They wanted me to come back and pick up the toppings, I said no thank you, I just wanted a refund for that one pie. Fifteen dollar pie with just chicken and peppers! The last guy I spoke to slowly got more rude and said it was complicated because I paid in person, while my order was online and that he'd have to contact corporate. So sad to see how much this place went down hill. Came here on a Sunday recently. After being ignored the first 3 minutes, we saw a girl behind the bar and said 'excuse me' to get her attention. She was the nastiest person I ever interacted with at a restaurant. 'YES?!' As if we interupted her life (not task, life) I asked if we entered the restaurant properly and if there was a hostess. She snapped again 'WELL WHAT DO YOU WANT' we were shocked. We asked if they were open and if we could be seated, she started looking around like we were idiots. We were so taken back, finally someone came from the back and asked if we wanted to be seated. We immediately asked what the woman's problem was. We even offered to leave because we couldn't understand why she was so unbelievably nasty to us. Our waiter apologized a few times for that woman's behavior. The best part was she was wearing different clothes than everyone so I assume she was a manager (the nasty woman behind the bar). Things calmed down. We ordered 2 five cheese pizzas with sauce. We were sat next to the window, facing the inside of the mall. The plates, napkins & utenesils were behind us on a ledge filled with 1/4 inch of dust & dirt. I am confident that the ledge hasn't been wiped down since 2015, more so 2014. Besides that, the window was FILLED with fruit flies. I am talking at minimum 14 and max 23 each time I counted. It was so gross. It was very telling to the cleaning habits of thos restaurant. The food went down hill. The pizza wasn't even half as good as I remember. Pizza dripped with oil. We won't be back. Stopped here today for a quick bite that would be kinda nutritious. Sat at the counter and ordered a cup of the pea and barley soup. I like pea soup. I mean, I really like pea soup. This is a good one. I think it's a veggie version because there's no hint of ham or any meat in it. Still good and hearty though. The half Thai Chicken salad was fun, and that's what I was looking for: a healthy fun salad. Lots of nuts, rice noodles, fresh greens, chicken, edamame beans and crunch. They charge $2.50 for about half an avacado added. I went for it and it was a good quality addition. Very good salad size for a half salad. I was stuffed and content. Don't know what the heck was going on last Saturday, but honestly, I really don't care either. I will say that the entire experience is A LOT worse during the dinner rush at 7 in the evening than at 4 pm. First off, the beeping guest pager was not working right (Haha, unintentional pun on "beeping"). It would beep when I was more than 5 steps from the entrance, even though the hostess assured me that it works all the way down the hall. The hostess who sat us made this HUGE fuss about how we didn't specify that we needed a highchair when we first put our names down, even though we have NEVER been asked about it that early. I think it's completely unprofessional to blame US for this. She put the three of us into a booth that would have fit 6 people (the only bright spot of the experience), and said that a highchair wouldn't fit, but they have a booster seat available (which worked fine). The usual crayons and paper menu was also provided. The server was nice, and we quickly ordered a milk for the little one and just some ice waters for us. We tried out the hawaiian pizza (even though it's not our usual order) and I got a BBQ chicken chopped salad (as usual). We also thought we'd try out the mac and cheese on the kid's menu to keep our little one occupied. The food was really disappointing. I was confused at how small my salad looked, and when I was finally able to flag down the server and asked about it, she said that she "thought you ordered the half size." At that point, I realized that unlike my other times, she did not ask me what size salad I would like, and I was too busy trying to save the table top from being drawn on to have noticed. She DID offer to switch my salad to a full sized one, but I was SO hungry and it took such a long time to flag my server down that I was just like... whatever. This was my choice, one that I bitterly regret, to this day. My husband's pizza was RIDICULOUSLY small. I mean... Other $14 pizzas are hanging off the side of the plate, and his didn't even make it to the inside rim. It was at least 2 inches (which in a circle is a big deal) smaller than the other pizzas we saw coming out of the kitchen. I don't know what the hell happened but quality control was completely lacking that day. The taste was only OK, since we tried something new, and didn't like it, I would have liked to ask the server to change it for our usual order (per their menu suggesting that we try something new)... but again, not being able to find your server just means that the kitchen will get less complaints (as most of us just throw up our hands and say "screw it"), and more bad Yelp reviews. The mac and cheese was absolutely atrocious. The pasta was cooked a bit under, which is OK if you're an adult as some people like that, but less acceptable when it's for a very young kid (and a baby, none-the-less). Maybe next time, we need to specify that the pasta be fully cooked, but I would have thought that to be obvious. Also, there was SO little cheese sauce, that it was just a macaroni dish. When we were finally able to find our server, we asked for more cheese sauce, and granted, she was good about bringing that. But again, not sure what was going on that day. At least their private bathrooms had a changing table, which I did appreciate (and use). Overall, this was an extremely disappointing meal and I will not be coming back to this location. I'm really not a big fan of chain restaurants, I think Olive Garden & Macaroni Grill are gross....I'd rather microwave a can of beef-a-roni before going there to dinner. But I really love CPK. We live very close to the Paramus store in the Garden State Plaza and have been sampling the menu for the 15 years we have lived here. Some of our favorites: Sandwich: Grilled vegetables on rosemary foccacia bread. Salads: Original BBQ chicken: grilled chicken, tomato, avacado, cilantro, black beans, corn, jicama, crispy corn strips served with bbq and ranch dressing. Thai crunch: shredded cabbage with grilled chicken, edamame, crispy wontons in a spicy peanut dressing. Salad greens: Field greens, pear, blue cheese, candied walnuts, grilled shrimp in a balsamic vinagrette. All of these are fantastic!!! Pizzas: Our favorite is the Thai Chicken Peanut, my son loves the original pizza, my husband recently tried the Carne Asada and loved it. If you have never tried CPK, I suggest going on a Sunday when the retail shops in Paramus are closed so you will have easy parking and don't have to deal with the shopping crowds. read more

A visit to Aunt Susie's means CPK with the 2 little runts. It is good suburban stuff. I wouldn't trade these pies for any old corner in NYC or the 718, but you can't go wrong with the Mexican Pizzaa. Ask for it extra cooked so that crust has a nice crunch to it. Throw a ton of red pepper on top and your mouth is going Yippe Kay Yay! To cool things down, you gotta go for the BBQ chicken salad. Make sure that they put extra crunchies on it (like mini fritos and extra cilantro. I know some people have the issue wiith cilantro tasting like soap but if you like that ittle green stuff, ask for a lot of it. Not THAT little green stuff, just the cilantro please. I try making my own BBQ chicken salad at home with bbq sauce and fritos, but it tastes like garbage. They do a much better job at this joint. read more

Came here today with a few friends for lunch. It wasn't crowded at all and we got seated rite away. As we sat down we were greeted by our server and he took our drink orders and gave us a few minutes to order. I ordered the white corn guacamole with chips and it was very refreshing and crisp. I also ordered the macaroni and cheese bites that were coated in panko bread crumbs and fried to a perfect golden brown. It was served over a cheese sauce that was to die for. My fried ordered the spring rolls that were served with guacamole on the side. My boyfriend and I ordered the garlic chicken pizza that was very yummy. My friend got the tostada pizza and didn't like it so she got the garlic chicken pizza as well. I came into this CPK with an average expection, and they beat it! - Since is was friday night (super busy) we called 1 hour ahead to put our name down (it is not a formal reservation, but it holds your place in the waiting list). I would suggest to do that for any weekend night. We only had to wait 5 mins to get a table for 10. - Service was surprisingly quick even during the busiest time of the week. - The food was above average: we ordered 4 kids meals, 4 entree pizzas and 2 full salads for 4 kids and 6 adults. The salads were refreshing and surprisingly exotic, and the pizza was above average. The pizza wasn't burnt or under cook in anyway. It was cooked perfectly with the golden crust. - Surprisingly the bill wasn't too hard on the wallet too!
