KUNG PAO SPAGHETTI,CARNE ASADA PIZZA. CHICKEN TEQUILA FETTUCCINE( CPK did not have the tequila sauce.)

Unfortunately, our recent experience at California Pizza Kitchen was less than ideal. Both the service and the food quality fell far short of what we expected. The person helping our table, Alex, was particularly unprofessional. Alex, if you were dining with your family to celebrate a birthday, I'm sure you wouldn't appreciate being treated the way you treated us that evening. We were there to celebrate a special occasion, and the experience really took away from it. Unfortunately, based on the service and food quality, my family and I won't be returning to CPK.

Our closest CPK's in Charlotte have closed so it's been a while since I've visited one, I was excited to go to one, especially IN California! I'm not sure if my tastes have changed or what but unfortunately it didn't quite live up to my mental hype. I ordered a Thai Chicken pizza and a blueberry lemon drop cocktail. The cocktail was just ok. We have a Brixx pizza at home and I love their Thai chicken pizza, I guess that's what I was expecting when I ordered this pizza and I did not like it as much. The crust was not as good, the pizza just wasn't as flavorful, and it seemed a bit dry. I had almost ordered the Charcuterie Salad so I ordered that to go the next day for lunch. It was a fun idea in theory but I just didn't care for the textures or the flavors.

Man! It pains me to write this review because CPK used to be one of my favorite restaraunts! Granted, I haven't eaten here in multiple years but tonights experience was so disappointing and I don't think I will be adding this place back in my rotation. I ordered delivery, they forgot my drink, my avocado egg rolls were dried out and had maybe 1 tiny piece of avocado per roll. Not how I remember at all! Even the ranch which I used to want to drink tastes different! The spinach artichoke dip had a weird shiny ltexture and my tequila lime chicken pasta was ok, but sauce was a bit watery, lacking the creamy texture I was craving! Overall I am just not thrilled I spent over $80 for this meal and this is the quality that was delivered. You can tell they have started using cheaper ingredients to prepare their food. Such a shame! CPK used to be so good!

There is a parking structure, I think its called "Plaza de Fuentes". The first 90 minutes free with a restaurant validation. As I walked in, the host greeted me and asked for my parking ticket for validation. I got sat and waited for my friend to arrive. I've been dining at CPK over the past 20 years and things change. I'm not sure, but the bread pieces and size are getting smaller each time I come to the restaurants. The restaurant was quiet, and had few diners when I arrived. By the time I left, there were more diners enjoying the happy hour menu. I ordered some items from the happy hour menu for my friend who was joining me after her work shift. The happy hour items came out super fast, faster than my actual order of garlic cream sauce pasta with chicken! As the items were sitting there, getting cold, I could tell our server, Britt, was getting a little worried that the quality of food would diminish. She kept wondering when my friend was going to show up. I assured her that it's okay, and we understand. I appreciated her commitment to ensure the food quality was great upon consumption. She even offered to heat it up for us. That's great service. Also, when paying for the check, she noticed the pricing didn't match the happy hour prices. She quickly went to get her manager's override and ensure we paid the correct amount. That shows that she goes above and beyond for her guests!

    Underwhelming bread portion

I truly love California Pizza Kitchen. I still remember the first time I went -- it was for a business lunch at the California Pizza Kitchen - Redondo Beach location. I'll never forget ordering the Thai Chicken Salad. From that day on, I was hooked -- the pastas, the pizzas, the salads... all of it! This review is based on my takeout experiences at California Pizza Kitchen - Pasadena. I've also dined both indoors and on the patio there, and it's always been a pleasant experience. Curbside takeout has consistently been smooth and convenient. Recently, I noticed that the pickup process uses an automated system that remembers your previous order and asks if you'd like to reorder it. It seems to function like a chatbot, which actually makes things quick and easy -- especially if you're a creature of habit and tend to order the same thing. My order is always ready on time, the staff is friendly, and the food presentation is consistently good. I'd say the biggest downside is the bread. I remember when they used to serve a generous, satisfying piece. Lately, it's been a small, underwhelming portion. Overall, curbside service at this location is excellent -- but the bread portions have been extremely disappointing on multiple occasions. I recommend this location but be aware.

It's been decades since I've last been to a CPK but time limitations brought us here with my senior aunt. She suggested this place since it was 2 blocks away. Didn't have big expectations but knew the food would be fine. We got there during happy hour which had great cool deals! My kid enjoyed the HH pizza and guac/chips. Reviewing the menu the lunch specials sound pretty terrific I'll be back to try that. Our server was great and personable.

It's nice they do parking validation, just make sure to park at the east West Bank underground parking lot area reserved for the restaurants. The wait was surprising but eventually we got seated. The pizzas were really nice, we also had pasta, but I really enjoyed mine a lot more because it was super savory. Overall nice place, we came here for a birthday deal so it's an entree off. We also got a take home pizza that was really nice which you can get on discount for ordering in.

I love my local CPK restaurant in Pasadena. The staff and managers are very friendly and are excellent at customer service. I was served today by Abigail . She's the sweetest new person I met here recently. She's so efficient and polite. Great job guys. You hire the right person for your company.

I haven't been to CPK in a while but now understand why this one is always busy. Great service and super friendly management team are totally on top of things. Nice new menu with low calorie and keto options as well too since they were recently acquired by a new restaurant group. our server when we dined at the bar was excellent! parking in hotel basement parking lot is validated. patio seating too.

BBLT Sandwich and Thai crunch salad
    Hanna Y.

I ordered online and it was done within 20 mins. Parking is underground in the garage. I got the BBLT sandwich and thought all the flavors combined together very well. I like how the burrata cuts through the saltiness of the bacon. The Thai crunch salad was good too. I like the sauce that it comes with.

To be honest, I haven't been to a CPK in years, but my coworkers suggested it for lunch since they have some solid specials for a good price. They offer a bunch of 1/2 + 1/2 combos, and I went with the BBQ chicken salad and a personal Thai chicken pizza. The salad was tasty fresh and flavorful. The pizza was okay; I remember liking it more in the past, but this time the crust was a little hard and dry. They also give you free bread with olive oil and vinegar, and I really liked that dip. Overall, it was a decent lunch for the price. Service was quick, which is great if you're on a lunch break if you're in a hurry, I'd recommend ordering from the bar.

BBLT, CALIFORNIA CLUB, KIDS CRISPY CHICKEN, WHITE CORN GUACAMOLE + CHIPS, Tomato bisque soup
    Mabel C.

The food here is soooo hearty and soooo good! I got the full size BBLT sandwich with the tomato bisque soup, and my husband got the full size club sandwich with the tomato bisque. Service was fast and friendly!! It's also very nice in here. Also, just an FYI register to be a rewards member and they give you a free starter (appetizer). We chose the white corn chips and guacamole. My son got the kid's crispy chicken. Everything was absolutely delicious! Will definitely be back. 10/10

You can make a reservation on OpenTable. We sat in the main dining room. The interior has a cozy feel and good vibe, with music playing in the background at a medium level. We happened to visit on Sunday which is Greek Night. In addition to the main food and drink menu, there is an additional food and cocktail menu with Greek inspired items. We decided to share the Kleo-tini (gin, basil, Kleos mastiha, olive bitters, $14) with a Greek spirit you will probably rarely see. It was a healthy pour in what seemed like a slightly oversized martini glass. It was very good, and definitely had a unique botanical/herbal flavor unlike any I've tasted before. We started out with the zucchini chips ($16) from the Greek menu. They were thin-cut, had a light breading brading on them, with a sprinkle of I believe oregano on top. It was a good portion, and we enjoyed the zatziki sauce for dipping. For my entrée, I had the lemon herb grilled chicken (marinated organic Mary's chicken, julienne vegetables, roasted potatoes, lemon beurre blanc, $30). It was a surprisingly large piece of chicken with a nice crisp on the skin, and was smothered in that great lemon butter sauce. The chicken was nice and moist. The veggies were good, and I only had a few of the potatoes because I was stuffed. She had the grilled Scottish salmon (wild caught salmon, dill mustard buerre blanc, sautéed spinach, whipped potatoes, $36). It came with a good sized piece of fish with lots of butter sauce on top. The spinach and potatoes were also good, and she enjoyed the entrée. Our server Carolyn was friendly and provided good service. We enjoyed everything here, and the menu has a wide variety of items. Brian was the standout star of the whole experience! His energy was exceptional and he is such a great conversationalist. He checked on us several times throughout our meal and made sure we were doing well. He on his own was HANDS DOWN a five star human being. At first, he wanted to seat us in the back corner but I told him the table was too small and he accommodated us with a bigger table. Our server Kiana came up to the table with a pleasant smile and greeting to take our drink orders. I got a glass of cranberry juice along with some water. My son got the American Dream cocktail along with some water. We skipped on dessert. From 4-6pm, they have a happy hour menu with some of their cocktails and shareable plates. The portions are just a bit smaller and the prices are a little lower. It's a good way to sample different items. I think we got a good variety of food to enjoy. To start, we got the Little Gem Salad. It was such a unique combination of flavors and SUPER delicate/light. My son and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The next starter was the Zucchini and Feta Fritters, which was good but not the best out of everything else we ordered. The zucchini was a bit mushy but the batter it was fried in was crispy. Another starter we shared were the Moroccan Spiced Chicken Wings. These wings are gigantic and very flavorful. They definitely pack some heat, so be careful. I don't think the A/C was NOT working to begin with, so the place was already hot. The wings made us sweat even more. For entrées, we got the burger and the pork belly. Brian said they are known for their burger and after taking the first bite, it's clear as to why. It was absolutely PERFRCTION. So delicious! The bun, the meat, the cheese, the onions, and the crispy bacon...all of it mixed together into the perfect burger. I had wanted to add some mushrooms and avocado to it, but Kiana said they were unable to do it. I also asked for lettuce and she said that would be an extra charge. What extra charge for lettuce? We still got charged for avocado when the bill came, but they took it off once we mentioned it. The pork belly was also very tender, flavorful, and crispy. It's just hard to compete with the burger! We also got an order of the Belgian Fries to share and we were both pleasantly surprised at how good they were. The fries are salty and cut pretty thick. The sauce that came on the side was so yummy. We asked for a small extra cup to-go. All in all, the food was great and we liked everything. The vibe of the restaurant wasn't really all that for me. Brian genuinely made up for anything that was lacking in the atmosphere. He is such a wonderful asset to the restaurant and their company. The restaurant itself has been here for about 15 years now and it used to be a very old house. You can tell when you look around. They did a good job with the renovations, but you can see the different areas/rooms. I think they tried to keep the casual comfort of a home, while making it a slightly elevated experience. It was very clean everywhere, especially the bathrooms. They have one gender neutral bathroom, one for men, and one for women. No private parking, so you'll have to park on the street and put money in the kiosk. They also had an outdoor seating. Pretty BIG, only took picture of one side. They also have 2 small TVs. In the bar area and inside their cute lounge. I normally like to try new places, especially when I'm in Pasadena, so I'm not sure if I'll come back here. Maybe if Brian is working, it would definitely be worth stopping by again! Thank you all..

Magnolia House was the place to go 10-12 years ago. But the last 3 times I've been here recently,…read moreit just really doesn't have the charm or class it used to have. Service is really really slow. You may see 5 or 6 waiters on staff...but they aren't stopping at tables to check up on guests. Alot of them are just hanging around the bar or front desk chitchatting with friends. The food quality dropped tremendously. It tastes like bland bar food now. $19 for 2 meatballs laying in tomato paste....and they were not even room temperature. Felt like they had these already prepared and sitting somewhere, just waiting for the next guest to order them. Got a mojito that may have been mistaken for a "virgin" drink....cause no one at our table could taste any alcohol in it. They all said it was watered down mint with ice. I wish this place would go back 10 years and make it like "the spot you want to go to"....versus the spot you now avoid.

QUICK TAKE Get: Fish of the Day, Lamb, Moroccan-style Mushrooms Skip: Duck was our one miss Know: This is a good place for adventurous eaters who like sharing dishes and trying unexpected flavor combinations. Holy Saints does a nice job of making food feel creative without crossing over into "trying too hard." There are a lot of different influences running through the menu, and several dishes had us talking about the flavors and ingredients as much as the food itself. What we tried: Moroccan-style Mushrooms - A great example of what Holy Saints does well. Earthy, savory mushrooms with contrasting textures from the nuts, thinly sliced radish, herbs and crispy elements on top. There was a lot happening on the plate, but it all worked together. Definitely one to share. Fish of the Day - One of the highlights of the meal and something I would absolutely order again. The fish came over rice in a deeply flavored sauce with peppers, herbs and fresh vegetables. Colorful, comforting and much more interesting than the standard fish-and-vegetables preparation you see at a lot of restaurants. Lamb - Another winner. Rich, hearty and well seasoned, with the sauce pulling everything together. If you're visiting for the first time and like lamb, this would be high on my list. Duck - Good flavor, but it seemed like the duck sauce could have benefited from a little more time to rest before being sliced and served. We joked that we should have brought a bag, taken it home and eaten it as leftovers instead. Sometimes duck might just need a night to think about what it did. What I liked most about Holy Saints is that the food wasn't boring. The kitchen takes familiar ingredients and puts them together in ways you probably wouldn't think of yourself, which makes it a fun restaurant for ordering several things and sharing around the table.

Great cozy, American small plates spot in Pasadena. Parking around is pretty simple with structures…read moreall around and pretty easy to make a reservation for a Saturday. Dishes tried: - Sourdough bread and bbq butter, solid for a bread dish, butter is definitely unique, reminded me of Lay's BBQ chips in a good way - Grandma's Risotto w/ prosciutto, okay for me? Prosciutto was a supplement here and needs it imo for that oomph, otherwise a fine risotto dish but would pass unless it speaks to you - Barnyard Bolognese - a bit underwhelming to start, just too one-note for me, but it eventually grew on me and would get it again if I wanted a rich pasta - Duck Magret Au Poivre - easily my favorite dish here and what I would come back for and recommend for people, tender duck with the right amount of fat and a great sauce. Fries are a bit thicker than I would like, but still enjoyed it. - Seasonal apple pie - more of a danish if I had to describe it to someone, but nice texture and more importantly, not too sweet!
