Loosies is a classic OC/Santa Ana institution that I hope never closes. Whoever their Pizzaiolo is they are seriously talented, their crust is to die for. Classic NY style pizza down right. My fav is the White Ferrari Pizza it's an olive oil, parm, mozzarella, ricotta, and parsley pizza. It really lets their ingredients shine. As first-timers, we ordered the cashier's recommendations: the White Ferrari and a Slime Loosie. The pizza has that super thin, crispy, foldable crust, but the flavor just didn't deliver. Was craving for this pizza so stopped by and got a whole pie of 1/2 white & 1/2 pepperoni/pineapple. Parking is okey, paid meter street parking nearby and walked over. It's hot day so few chairs & tables were put outside. Still same old, clean, smell delish with plenty of pics on the wall. Great service from staff. Sorry to say, anyone coming here expecting to have authentic New York Pizza is going to be disappointed. Last I went to New York and had quite a few slices and this is better than all of them. Certainly the look and consistency, but the crest is similar to New York pizza, but the flavor of the toppings, outstanding better than anything I tried in New York. "Hawaiian" style pizzas seemed to often be disappointing, but this one was an amazing flavor on me, crisp Canadian bacon, and the thin wide slices of pineapple for so much better than the chunks usually found on most "Hawaiian"pizzas. The White Ferrari pizza was wonderfully unique and full of flavor. There's a nice eclectic selection of beer. There's a very relaxed, casual vibe here and service is outstanding. read more

I enjoyed the supreme and the Hawaiian, but my bf loved the classic cheese as he's been trying to find good pizza in OC since moving from the east coast. When I say hidden, there is no visible signage identifying the restaurant so you'll want to lookout for the address or the A frame sign on the sidewalk out front. My wife and I were in Santa Ana for a show at The Observatory when we wanted to stop and grab a quick dinner before hand. Thanks to Yelp we found out about Loosies Pizza so we headed here right away! This small pizza shop is located in a pretty busy little area, offers some seating, and is primarily focused on slices which is not done enough these days. When you walk in the first thing you see is the slice selection so we kept it simple and ordered some slices. I settled on a slice of pepperoni pizza as well as a slice of the Hawaiian pizza. Once you pick out what you want, the staff throws the slices back in for a minute before handing it back to you to consume. First I ate the pepperoni slice and it was fine, tasted like a pretty standard slice and did the job. The Hawaiian slice was my favourite of the two having a good amount of pineapple and ham and had a good taste, was a fan. Overall, Loosies Pizza is a decent pizza shop and even though it didn't blow me away, it's a safe place to grab a slice of pizza before walking around Santa Ana. read more

Had a wonderful experience at Loosies Pizza in Santa Ana. I took advantage of their $8 two slice/1 soda lunch special and couldn't have been happier. I had a traditional slice of the cheese pizza and a slice of the White Ferrari which was a slight up charge for a slice with extra virgin olive oil, garlic, Parmesan, mozzarella, ricotta and parsley. The crust was cooked just well enough to be crunchy without having a burnt flavor. The service was fast and inefficient and I like the low key local flavor ambiance of the pizzeria as well as a seating area outside that is partially shaded by trees. The portions are huge! Seating inside offers enough space but I think a large portion of customers opt for a grab and go. They offer pizza by the slice which is great for a quick snack and also there are many parking garages around. One close by that offers free 1 hour parking. We tried the viral pickle pizza and although it definitely packed a pickle lovers flavor it felt very one note. Would have loved something to add to the pizza like a grilled chicken or bacon. Found this hidden gem after searching for NY style pizzas near me! Once we walked in, my eyes were glued to the decor as it consisted of so many classic portraits and pieces of art! The cashier was very friendly as well and took our order with no problem. We ordered a whole pizza consisting of half margherita and half white ferrari. After waiting about 20 minutes, we got our pizzas and decided to sit inside since outdoor seating wasn't ideal especially in the heat. Thankfully, we got seating inside especially considering how small this pizza shop is! After trying the margherita pizza first, I was surprised at how thin and crunchy the pizza is! The flavor was phenomenal as well even though it is a simpler pizza than other combination pizzas. The white ferrari was also delicious but I personally liked the margherita pizza more. I finished eating very quickly and had to comment to myself how this is some of the best pizza that I have had so far. For the price of about $30 for a whole pizza seems pretty fair in my opinion considering it is an 18 inch pizza and high quality.
