Firstly, they took on a project no other indy shops wanted to touch(namely camber/caster adjustment kit for Mercedes GLS). But Tommy&Gabe did, because obviously they KNOW their trade. So obviously happy got the job done right. Hopefully less premature tire wear. Alignment was done, but car rode a bit on the stiffer side(since new bushings, but also being lowered). I bought new OEM wheels for my car, but the front pair came from one source and the rears came from another. Since they were from different batches, the color doesn't quite match. These wheels are no longer in production, so you have to take what you can get. I took them to California Wheels to see if they could match the rears with the fronts since the front pair is the correct shade. I spoke with Jaime. He looked at the wheels and told me they couldn't match them, they would have to powder coat all 4. He let me know they couldn't do the exact color, but they had their own shades of gunmetal grey. He takes me inside and points to a new wheel on the wall and mentions that they have something like that and brings out their samples, which are all scuffed up. We take them outside to see how close they are to my wheels. None of them are very close and I don't really like any of them enough to spend the $1000 it would cost to have the wheels powder coated. I ask him about the wheel he pointed to when went in the office and he tells me that is a factory finish and they can't duplicate it. Why did he reference it then? He also tried to steer me toward silver. If I wanted silver wheels, I would have bought silver wheels. I bought gunmetal grey wheels because that's what I want. Their website says they can custom match your wheels to the color of your car. So why can't you match one pair of wheels to another? Because they don't want to, I guess. If I were a prominent Bay Area sports star, maybe the answer would be different. read more

Took my car to get my hood and spoiler wrapped I got quoted $300 for the hood and $100 for the spoiler then the guy told me $500 out the door. This is an honest review I have already provided via email to the shop: """ I recently had two services (window tinting and brake caliper painting) on my black Mustang convertible done at Caliwheels in Campbell, and I want to provide honest feedback directly to you. First red flag, we agreed on the prices over the phone, but once I came to pick up my car, tinting was charged $100 more than agreed upon. I asked about it and it was corrected, but I did not get an apology, rather it felt like I haggled, and it felt uncomfortable. Next, over the course of a week, I noticed that the tint was poorly done (a lot of small bubbles, and quite a few big lints stuck between window and foil). Both rear brake calipers have chipped, and there was overspray on my entire car from the caliper painting. I have spent a few hours with a clay bar trying to clean up the overspray, but it turned out to require more effort than that. Needless to say, I was shocked about the level of negligence you had when servicing my car. I went back to your store (I was told I can come in if not satisfied, no need to call in), and was told to come back in a week, because there was no staff to fix my issues. Again, no apology, rather I left from there like I was somehow at fault. I came back, and went through everything that needed to be fixed on my car. I was assured it will be. When I picked up the car again, the tint was in a much better state, though far from perfect, noticeably worse than what I have seen done on my friend's cars in other places. I am trying to be fair, so if there is something on my car that prevents it from being done properly, I would have appreciated to be told in advance. Chip on one of my breaks was poorly fixed (you can see that it was patched up), and completely ignored on the other one. In the meantime, one of the front brakes also chipped. I can tell that the breaks were not cleaned properly before painting, and I am very disappointed. Finally, the overspray was fortunately cleaned and removed very well, though it should not have been there in the first place. All in all, your services are priced very highly, while delivering subpar quality, or worse. Tommy is the guy to make your car go from fly to super-fly. Let me tell you, this is the only place in the bay I'd get my wheels done, honestly. There's no haggling, no bs, and everything is done on schedule - everything well done. I found him on yelp, and I'm glad I did. Plus, he will go out of his way to help you; he does more than just meet you halfway. For example, after my car was totaled in an accident, I had no idea how I'd get the old damaged wheels I bought from him on a new car. Tommy took care of me, though. This review is 11 months overdue, but California Wheels did such a fine job on my truck that I need to follow up, since I'm sure a lot of their business is from reviews and word of mouth. Anyway, I had already tentatively picked out the rims and tires, but Tommy walked out back with me and we looked over the truck, and discussed the look and feel that I was trying for. We considered a few tire options and picked one that was different than my first attempt (and much better). It was good to hear experienced comments about relative road noise levels for the various types of off road treads. And it's really helpful to just have that level of experience applied to predicting what the truck will look and feel like. Once the tires and rims arrived, we scheduled a day, and they did the work while I waited in a Campbell cafe, it took about 5 hours. I didn't use their services, but wanted to post feedback about my interaction. I called CA Wheels for a quote on a 4-wheel alignment. I had new tires installed by another shop and I've been experiencing some shaking/vibrating at low (25mph) and high (65mph) speeds, as well as when the car is idling. I called for an estimate and the guy who answered asked what was wrong with my car. He told me the vibrations were likely from an out-of-balance wheel and that I should ask the shop who installed my tires to do a road-force balance test. Super friendly and honest; didn't try to sell me other services. I'm impressed. I'll use them in the future.
