I curbed one of my wheels that I had purchased at California Wheels at a fast food drive through, and while I didn't damage the wheel too much, it was definitely noticeable. The team at California Wheels were able to get me in the next day to repair the wheel, and I was in and out of there in less than three hours. The wheel looks like new again and it is impossible to tell where it was damaged. I'm very satisfied with the work that they did. I will also say that when I purchased the wheels, all of the claims they made about going from the stock wheels to the new (18 inch) wheel and tire combination were true. My car's ride (Civic Type R) is now significantly more compliant, acceleration was improved (due to the lighter wheels) and I was able to utilize a significantly lower priced & (much) longer lasting all season tire opposed to the limited options for the 20 inch OE wheels. 0n 8/4/2023 I had a flat repair. I also got a rim repaired that I had curbed on my Porsche Taycan. At the time, I asked for it to be re powder coated. Unfortunately, it seems they just painted the rim. its more than 7 months old and the sliver rubs off if I run my finger on the area "repaired", and the area is not nearly as shinny (maybe they didnt clear coat). I spoke with the owner a couple months ago and he said to bring it back in, so in their defense they are willing to look at it. However, I live a bit away and it was convenient at the time, they also came recommended from my business partner. I recommend going somewhere else if you dont want the chance of having to go back for them to look at it if it isnt right the first time. I have had other rims really powder coated and this was more expensive then other places. Pretty annoyed since I would of just bought a new rim from the dealer or taken the car somewhere else had I known I'd waste my time and money. I plan to spend about 3-5K on wheels for a new Mercedes. I did a ton of research, decided what i wanted to buy and found that California wheels offered the wheel i wanted. So i called to get a quote on a set of Savini wheels. The person who answered the phone was really nice at first, but as soon as i started asking about wheel offset, he would cut me off with, "you just need to come in, we will get you wheels to fit." I explained that I wanted a speicific wheel/size (Savini BM5, 40mm front and 25mm offset rear to match factory spec) and that I had done my research, just needed to confirm they offer the size and I will come down and buy. The answer came back, "dont worry, if they dont fit we will find you some wheels that fit. I explained that I was happy to drive 45 mins to buy the wheels but, that i would just like to confirm they can get the size before I drive down, adn that didnt want to buy any other type of wheel. He got a little testy at that point, cut me off and said,"dont worry, we have lots of wheels, we will git yo some wheels." yes, his grammer did get worse as he got more frustrated with me on the call. I had a simple request and if this made him frustrated, i cant imagine what happens when there is an service issue. I quickly hung up the phone, thankfully there are many wheel resellers that I can work with that can answer a very simple question on wheel offset. Jan 17 follow up - within a few minutes of my post Tommy called me and left a message. We were able to connect today and he cofirmed offsets and explaned that they can machine a wheel to match whatever offset I need - awesome! sometimes all a newbie needs is someone to make it really simple - so thank you Tommy! i will be going in to look at wheels, finishes, hopefully this weekend. read more

Going for 5 on this one. To set the context, I've been trying for 6+ months to find wheels that would fit my car - 2001 Audi S4 avant with a big brake kit. For those who don't know, this car is extremely finicky and only (usually) allows wheels that aren't that wide installed, nor with any low offset, due to upright, suspension, fender and brake clearance. I met Tommy and he explained to me how he'd be able to make it happen and that "i'd be happy in the end". Again, me being extremely skeptical I was very weary since noone else has been able to help me, not even Tirerack. But I ended up pulling the trigger and he even had a sample (in black) of the exact wheel I wanted (MRR Groundforce GF06). Once the car was completed, one of Tommy's colleagues called me and said it was ready to be picked up. I was so excited I requested him email me pictures, since I was stuck at work. Once I received them, my coworkers can attest, they had never seen me more happy and excited ever. The rims fit perfectly and had the right amount of profile to give a little bit of stretch on the rear 9.5" wide wheels. I'm running staggered (narrower in front) and Tommy was able to ensure that the tires achieved the same diameter so as not to mess with the AWD system on my car. They drove my car for 25 miles w/o my permission. I understand all those "we need to test drive to see if the wheels are ok" excuses, but 25 miles, obviously crossed the line. I mean, if they could have asked me if they could drive my car for testing purpose I would say yes, and here would be a 5-star review. It's just a simple question that can make your business earn the trust from your clients. I took pictures right before drop-in and after pick-up, and I strongly encourage every of their customers to do so in case for your own reference. Got my first truck didn't know anything about suspension, wheels, etc. Went in and Gabe talked me through everything, wasn't rude or anything, super helpful dude. Showed me what people typically do, pictures, and gave me a quote. Recently went in to get my car lowered I had nothing but a great experience as usual. Called up the shop spoke with tommy let him know what I drove and he immediately gave me my options. All of their lowering jobs come with a free alignment which is necessary to keep your car riding the same as it was before . My husband had been dealing with Tommy for years. So when I needed tires for the new rims I bought it was a no brainer to call Tommy. Got my rims on and about a month later I curbed my new rim. I thought for sure I'd need a new rim and after taking my car back to Tommy he said he could fix it no problem. My Tesla Model X "developed" a significant case of wheel (curb) rash. I read a lot of reviews and talked to several service shops but decided to have California Wheels take a shot a repairing the damage as the other options - replace the wheel, powder coat all wheels, etc - were quite a bit more expensive. Despite being warned by California Wheels that this type of repair is never "perfect", the repair was excellent. I scuffed my 20in rims this weekend while looking for parking in Monterey. When it happened I didn't know what to do. This was the first time I ever had nice rims, and getting curb rash. I thought I was stuck with them looking like that or dropping 2racks on new rims. So I hit up Tommy early Monday morning and he said to swing by the next morning to see how bad the damage was to see how much it cost and how long the repairs will take. I took it over at 10am exact and everyone was their, tommy checked the 2 rims (both front and back rims on the passenger side) and told me if I wanted to, he can fix them that same day and it be done by 4-5pm. I wasn't expecting him to take my car that same day, and I didn't want to wait 7 hours in the lobby. But fck it! I was already their, so I so go for it. I got a Lyft to Santana row and valley fair watch a movie and ate. It only took him roughly about 3 hours, he called me saying that it's ready to go. First thing when I got dropped off I went to my car in the parking lot, I couldn't even notice any of the damage that happen to it. My rims are gloss black, he sand it down, and air bushes it back. It was all even no dimple or anything like if the car just came out of factory. Super Fast work, the job was done flush, and the price to repair 2 rims was lower than my insurance deducted, so I didn't even need to hit up my insurance. I am particular about my car (E63S AMG wagon on Vossen 20's sitting pretty low) and was a bit nervous about who to buy tires from - took car to California Wheels to purchase tires and staff knew exactly what to recommend in regard to aftermarket tire fitment that would perform and handle. On a second visit talked to Gabe about a wheel repair due to Valet curb rashing whole rim. Gabe could have pushed me to buy a new wheel for $800 but they suggested it would be better to repair and is much more cost effective - i was hesitant as i am anal about my car, but when I picked up the car and inspected the wheel - looked good as new. Took my Q5 in for a screw in the rear tire a few days ago. I was a little worried about COVID procedures, but all went smoothly. Only had to wait for one car, then the office guy used fresh gloves to drive it in the bay. The technician was able to plug it from the outside w/o removing the wheel. Pressure check and shine on all tires. Then the office guy w. new gloves again backed it out. Hand sanitizer in the office where I paid. Having a separate person in street clothes move the car, not a technician with possible wheel grime, also avoided grime in the car. $25 was easy and clean (I added tip). Thanks! /Charles read more
