This company didn't send a "contractor" per the owners recollections of events but rather send a completely different company that had poor ratings. Even the assistant stated he was Miller Carpet care.His AD stated a certain amount of time spent on each room but I clocked them at 55mins for 5 rooms which means he was extremely aggressive with our carpets. My carpets are now damaged hence the updated review. Our carpets are flat, low pile with a pattern. His so called "contractor" rubbed so aggressively that now all carpets are rippled. These were not cheap carpets. The owner fails to understand that he sent someone complete different then what I was expecting, the cleaners told me so. Dishonest and crappy work. FYI- the owner is lying. I complained and he hung up on me. He just didn't care. read more

Had to leave the house for a bit and left my dogs inside on a Sunday. When I returned, one of the dogs had chewed a ball point pen and spilled ink on several areas of my six month old carpet :-( I tried to clean it up myself using some spot cleaner and methods found on the internet. I only made the situation worse. First thing Monday morning I called Calfornia Xtreme Steam and spoke with John. I explained the situation to him. He stated that it was a very busy day but would do his best to get someone out to try to remove the stain. At 4 PM that day one of John's techs showed up and went to work. The tech had been briefed on the problem and had several chemicals in hand when he knocked on the door. In about an hour, the stains were gone and carpet looked good again. XTREAM STEAM July 16, 2014 we had Xtream Steam come out and clean our tile (over 300 sq.ft.) and seal the grout. We also had Eric clean two cloth chairs. The next day there was a white haze over most of the grout and tile from too heavy of an application of the sealer and the chairs were not clean. After three attempts, XStream was not able to remove the white haze to our satisfaction. I would not use them again and would never recommend them. read more

We saw an ad for 5 room for $99. I called them up made an appointment, and showed up on time. I believe the person who did our carpets was Miguel, and he was very professional and took the time to explain what was going to be done. He made sure that the hoses were not dirty, and gave me an honest opinion if I needed extra treatment for certain spots on the carpet. He didn't try to sell me something that wasn't needed. After he was done we noticed one area in the first room that was still wet after a few days. I called them back up and Miguel came back to redo the area at no charge, and gave us an industrial fan to use until it dried and came back the next day to pick up. The area that was wet happened in a room that was always cold and it was the first area that was started. I place no fault with him or the company. Things happen, he corrected it with no issues. I finally convinced my boyfriend to have his carpets cleaned, and Eric came out to do them today. We chose XTreme because they are a family owned company and had good reviews. There were a lot of tough stains on the carpet that looked awful before, but now are a vast improvement. I am happy with the results, and great price. However, the baseboards still had a lot of crumbs and debris after the cleaning was done. I'm not sure if that is something that is included with the service, but I have always had them cleaned with previous carpet cleaners. read more

I am extremely frustrated with this carpet cleaning business!! I booked online, got a confirmation email & a reminder email but no one showed up. I took the day off of work to have this done. When I called John said they were booked & that the online system messed up. Okay, I can understand that but he then says there is nothing they can do & hangs up on me. Nothing, no discount for future cleaning? I called back now upset that I have been hung up on but still no offer of a discount or any solution to getting my carpets cleaned! I've had my rugs cleaned many times over the years but this one left my rugs more wet than ever. I've been airing out the areas especially with such nice weather but day four and I can still feel wetness when walking on with my socks. The two guys were very nice but I have a feeling the vacuum was either not working well or they over saturated the rugs. I did call and express concern but they indicated it would dry with ventilation and air. I have ceiling fans going and heaters to help it along but it's Friday at 4pm & still damp. I had my carpets cleaned yesterday by California Xtreme Steam. They have never looked so good. I was so impressed with the technician cleaning them (Eric). First problem was I live in apt and there was no water outlet. No problem Eric drove to another section of my apartment and filled a tank in his van with water. He did an exceptional job on the carpets. I was so impressed. I want to commend your employee he was so professional and he did a magnificent job. He was sweating like a pig he was working so hard. I have to admit I felt guilty. I will definitely recommend your business to co-workers and neighbors. I have already given my neighbor who needs her carpets cleaned your business card. They rectified the situation as best they could and for that both my husband and I greatly appreciate the company. We got a refund and they came out and cleaned our chairs and boxspring that got soaked and even offered to take out an insurance claim for the rest. We don't think it's necessary, however we hope that they will be a bit more cautious in the future, so that things like this don't happen again. read more

We found this company through a coupon in the money mailer. We called them on a weekend and were told we probably wouldn't hear from them until Monday. However, we got a call back the same day and scheduled an appointment. Miguel called us when he was about 45 minutes out, showed up on time, explained everything very well, didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need, and did a fantastic job. I had an appointment on a Tuesday and when I made the appointment I told the owner I have some pet spots that need to be addressed. At no point did he tell the price or at least a starting price for that service. I, unfortunately, had to work so my mom was here as the "acting homeowner." When the tech came, he assessed the house and sprayed some spot/urine treatment on all the carpets (three rooms and a hall). That cost $125 just for the chemicals which smelled terrible and we couldn't have socks or bare feet until he came back the next day. He had to come back the next day to "scrub" the carpets and then "clean" them. So my mom to the rescue again and she was here. It cost another $45 for the "scrubbing" along with $25 for an extra room since one room was over 200 sq ft. Which I am not sure which room that was since I could only manage to measure the biggest room at 187sq ft. I wasn't happy with the charges since it cost extra for the scrubbing of the chemicals which should be included in the OUTRAGEOUS price of $125. After the guy left on Wednesday, my carpets were SOAKING wet. He had all the fans going, my furnace up to 67 degrees (which I said to do to help dry them while it was cold out). There was a terrible odor that was immediately smelled once you walked into my house. It smells like mildew/leaky trailer all mixed with wet dog. We are going on day 5 and my carpets are still wet. I have three space heaters going and my heater up to 67 degrees. There is a terrible film on the carpet that you can feel with bare feet. To top all that off, the tech broke my bedroom window. I know 100% that it was broken by him since we have lived in my house for 9 years and we have never broken a window (this window never gets used during the winter). I called the company to see what to do about it and the owner didn't have much to say besides, "I spoke with (the tech) and he doesn't remember breaking the window. He can come out there and look at it and we can go from there." My problem with that is if he doesn't "remember" breaking it, how does it help if he is the one looking at it. If anything it should be the owner looking at it. I don't think I will every go through this company every again. I believe this is my second time using them and will be my last. Too many issues. I was all set to go and had an appointment for them to come out and clean our carpets and upholstery on our sofas. I had set it for this particular date because it was 3 days before Thanksgiving and I had this day off. They called 2 hours prior to my appt. and cancelled. They said the technician had a bad back and they couldn't reschedule for another time or day this week. I was left stranded. I was lucky to get in with another company. I was a customer of California Xtreme Steam for several years. I have my carpets cleaned every 6 months. The last time we scheduled for the carpets to be cleaned, my husband called to make the appointment. When asked what day we wanted the carpet cleaned,my husband told Xtreme that Thursday or Friday would work for us. The appointment was set for Thursday 10/26/17 at 10:00 a.m. I drove from our other home (129 miles) to be at my residence just for this appointment. I move 2 couches, a piano, a hutch, and two floor lamps in preparation for the carpets to be cleaned. At the schedule time, Xteme was not at my house. Finally, I called their office. And I said, I thought we had an appointment at 10 today. The receptionist informed me that they called and lifted a message: that they were changing it to Friday. My response to her was "you don't call the customer the day of and state you have changed the date." I told her that I drove 129 mile for this appointment and that it needed to happen today! I had other appointments on Friday! She called her boss, who was at another job site, and told him the situation, and that it needed to happen today. She called me back and said, the owner said no! I asked her to have him call me. HE NEVER CALLED ME BACK!!!!!! So, Think again before letting California Xteme Steam clean your carpet. They completely waisted my time! Absolutely disappointing!...When I called to make the appointment, I spoke with the owner John. He told me the water reaches at least 185 degrees because his trucks are mounted with a tractor motor which enables them to reach over 200 degrees when the water hits the carpet. I also was told that they would help move my big sectional in the livingroom. NOT TRUE....The carpet cleaner guy named Chuck arrives and states the water only reaches 140 degrees and that ALL the sectional pieces need to be removed from the livingroom. They don't move furniture. Then......When I said this was very disappointing news....He just walked out the door. He told me I should call John and clear up any confusion. While I tried to reach John, Chuck left without any explanation. ...I called Carter's Carpets and they are coming out this afternoon with red carpet service. DON'T use California Xtreme. Great service. Eric did a super job cleaning our carpets on January 28th, 2015, before we moved out. Of course, we had vacuumed them before he arrived. We paid extra to have the carpets stretched, and he did a fantastic job. The original installation was really poorly done and he really had to work hard to make it right, but honored the quoted price. He arrived on time and was very professional and pleasant.
