Food was delicious. They have expanded their dessert menu which is a plus. Food service was great. However, their hostess service needs some work. They do charge you reservation cancellation ($25 per person) if you call and cancel less than 24 hours. I called within 23 hours and was told that they will charge. Place to be seen and spend money on expensive but tasty drinks, not to be treated to prompt service. We arrived at 8:40 for our 845 reservation and were asked to sit at the bar. We ordered drinks, which were excellent and some appetizers-olives and an eggplant dip, which were fare. At 9:30 we asked how Martebel was coming and we're told that it would be ready shortly. At 9:40 we asked again and we're showed the table literally right by the kitchen entrance. We asked for a different table and at 10 o'clock we sat down to dinner. We did not receive a single apology for the delay. Once we sat down the waiter promptly asked if we needed drinks. Having ordered a few rounds, the last of which we brought with us to the table, his request was clearly superfluous. We declined his offer and he disappeared for 25 minutes.Finally returned to our table and asked if we were ready to order dinner, something we were ready to do when we sat down having already looked at the menu for sometime. I wife and I asked to share a fish. We we asked about Bronzino and were told the fish were small to share. The waiter recommended halibut, as excellent for two. The other couple each ordered Bronzino. When the food came the Halibut for two was clearly smaller than each of the Bronzino. All the fish was pretty good shot my trash, although the halibut which with poached with white wine in a parchment paper was a bit alcoholic. Personally I would've reduced the white wine before I poached the fish I. The parchment paper. Matter of taste. Stepping back from the situation it seems that the long delays were part of a ploy to have us order more drinks and spend more money. I understand that the restaurants in the Hamptons need to make their money in the summer. And nobody who knows me would suggest that I like to eat early, but starting my main course after 1030 at night when I have an 845 dinner reservation was just too much. Perhaps if the manager or the hostess even once apologize for the delay I would've been in a better mood. Anyway, this is a bar which makes reasonably good but overpriced drinks and prepares good quality but over priced fish reasonably well. It's more place to be seen in the place to eat. read more

Amazing! Finally found our go-to spot out east. The food is incredible, staff is kind, and they nailed the Mykonos meets Hamptons decor. It's a great vibe and has a fun bar scene after you finish your meal. They also have lots of live music and DJs to keep with the ambiance. We went with another couple last year and there are 8 of us returning for Memorial Day weekend to celebrate my friend's 30th birthday. Can't wait! read more

In one word it would be "Weak" particularly in the Hamptons. Uninspiring menu, food quality OK but kind of below average. Service is a mess. Hosts speaking on the phone making patrons wait - that was first sign. Multiple waiters running around, trying to take order twice, inexperienced and don't understand basic requests (e.g., pls bring steak a la carte). Dear Victims, If I could give less than one star, I would. Our server, Dimitri, could not have been less attentive. Meanwhile, they add 20% tip for zero service. Matter of fact, they charge you for a refill of iced tea...and then 30 minutes later argue with you about the fact it took 30 minutes to refill your tea. Trust--he could retrieve the time stamp. Yes, even when the person asking for the tea is The Bride on her bachelorette weekend. Hilarious that they claim to give one F about brides, They don't. very disappointed in the poor management and service. we made a reservation for a birthday and requested to be seated outside. we were a party of four seated at a table clearly for two, which was shoved between two other tables so close that we could not pull out our chairs without bumping the backs of other tables. we asked to be seated elsewhere and were met with passive aggressive hostility by the manager. he actually had the nerve to come over to chastise us for requesting a different table and was absurdly rude about the whole situation. he is clearly not well trained, and should not be in the service industry. not only was the original table NOT compliant with COVID-19 safety regulations (which a quick call to the local health dept will easily confirm), it was an extremely disappointing response from someone who manages a high-end restaurant to speak so rudely to us. fortunately our evening was rectified by our lovely waiter. he knew we were celebrating and gave us a round of drinks on the house for the trouble. HE should be the manager, not the jerk who yells at customers for expecting decency and respect. if the food were not so delicious, i would give this place 1 star. read more

Went to Calissa with a group and had appetizers, drinks, and entrees. The drinks were fine and the appetizers okay (salads, beet hummus, olives), but the vegetarian/vegan options for entrees or sides were all terrible. The carrot quinoa tasted like nothing, and the mixed vegetable platter had bland, limp vegetables that didn't even taste fresh. It was actually quite disgusting. The other vegetarian dishes were equally boring and bland. There is really nothing here for vegetarians/vegans. It is extremely expensive for food that is simply not good, which leads me to believe that rich people must love bad food. read more

Another 2 hour trek out to Calissa, another time it was worth our while!! The owner, Kylie, immediately recognized my friends and I and sent a champagne sampling to our table. The soups, the apps, the entrees all amazing as always, but the drinks keep getting better each time (which I didn't think was possible!) What makes Calissa even more special is the outstanding service. Read the reviews, some great and some poor like everything. My wife and I checked it out and glad we did, and would return. We love the food and we had a great time. Service was good as well, and the server went with the flow of our table. Meaning he was not trying to push us out so he can turn the table for tips. Which is great when this is a Monday -thru- Friday thing in Manhattan. Helpful Tip: when you are in the Hampton's try to relax, it's not Manhattan. You do not need your food ten seconds later because you have a 1pm meeting that will start half way across town and your Uber is waiting for you outside. LOL!!! My favorite item was the "Sound" in the bar & lounge area is really clean with a lot of base. Dinner here on Saturday, June 24th, 2017. The atmosphere is definitely "Summer in the Hamptons!" with a staff that is both professional and friendly. The decor is Hamptons bohemian (Keep an eye on those wrinkled rugs) with a beautiful outdoor space perfect for large family gatherings or small weddings and other bigger groups. We had the grilled octopus starter that was perfect - they had no problem with my wish to have it served without potatoes. We ordered the salt crusted bass as the main course. It is prepared fresh so this is not a meal for those in a rush to get to the next appointment - but it is worth every minute of the wait. The fish was first presented in the lumpy salt crust and then reappeared de-boned, served on a platter, with watercress, dill, and lemon. The fish was perfection. As a final touch, the restaurant send a complimentary dessert that consisted of figs, cherries, yogurt and vanilla. I can't eat sugar, but my friend ate the whole thing and said: I'd come back just for this. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

I've hung out at Calissa several times since it opened a couple of years ago. It's a generally great addition to the Hamptons, as it actually does feel like it was transplanted straight from Mykonos. The atmosphere is chic and fun, music is always great, and the food never disappoints. I recently attended a wedding reception that was held on their gorgeous patio and surrounding area...it was a great spot for an occasion like this as the setting is romantic, but also a really fun place for a big party! read more

This is hysterical. We were the Babyface table. The delays had nothing to do with him. We had an 8:15 reservation, even the fact Babyface, Kenny Edmonds is our friend we waited the longest. We were is the bar all 17 of us until 9:30. Then we were told that the table as ready. We walked to the back terrace a stood they for another 25 minutes. There was no table. Then they put together a make shift table. Finally we got an appropriate table at 10pm. The kids were starving and falling asleep. We had ordered a prefix menu. We got appetizers slowly, they were good. At 11:30 there was still no entrees and we got up and left. Babyface had nothing to do with it. Even he, Kenny Edmonds had even worse service. We went home and ate bowls of cereal. Owners were never on top of this, One owner came and said he was really shitty and profusely apologized. Did not make things better. Do not blame Babyface, he had the worst experience of all. Its a shame, the little food we had wad great, but the rest killed all of it. Oe of the 10 worst experiences we have ever had.They need to get their act together. Where do I even begin. Let me start by saying do not go here. This restaurant deserves negative ten stars. I made a reservation for my birthday at 7:15pm. We arrived at 7:20pm and they said they were setting the table. We got drinks outside and 45 minutes later went to check on our table. It was ready. They were not going to tell us. Also the restaurant was not full so it should not have taken this long. We get seated in the absolute worst part of the restaurant. A back room with one window and dark walls and carpet. Completely different decor than the rest of the restaurant. We asked if there was another table (we could see plenty open) and they said the wifi was down so it wasn't going to happen. What???? The service throughout the dinner was horrible. Extremely slow. We poured our own bottle of magnum rose. There was a bug crawling on our table. When we informed he waiter he laughed. Finally fed up, a member of our party nicely informed the manager of these issues and he was extremely rude to her and said she needed to provide an in depth analysis of what was wrong. He said he would give us a free round of drinks. 30 minutes later there were no drinks and we asked to check on this. The manager in the red dress said they planned on bringing shots of limoncello at the end. We said no one at our table liked limoncello and asked if we could get dessert for my birthday instead. She ignored that and said "so you're done with your drinks and your food?" In a very rude tone. Clearly nothing was getting through to them. They literally did not care in the slightest bit that we were having a horrible experience. We asked for the check immediately so we could get out of this hell hole. 20 minutes later, no check. After getting up from the table multiple times to ask for the check they finally brought it. Nothing was comped. The only positive about the restaurant was the table next to us who had an equally bad experience and we bonded with them. read more

I would love to talk about if the food was great or bland but the sad truth is that we were not even seated. We had a reservation for 9:15 but were running late. We called and informed them of the speed bump and they said they understood. We get there and are told we have to wait, this is reasonable of course as we did come late. What is not reasonable is waiting an hour only to find out that our table is still not ready. Everytime we would ask for when our table would be ready they would say "in 20 minutes" and every 20 minutes it wouldn't be. We found out that the reason for our extended wait was that the rapper known as Babyface was dining with them and apparently his needs outweigh the needs of other customers. James, the person that greeted us, told us it would be a 20 minute wait. At 10, I came up to him again and he told me that it would take another 20 minutes. We proceeded to check in with him at 10:20 and 10:40. Finally, at 11 we had enough considering we had someone on crutches and a child with us. As we were walking out, other people had mentioned that they had reservations at 8:30 and that the restaurant simply forgot about them. At the end, we were told that Babyface, the rapper, showed up , which caused the restaurant to have an hour and a half delay. As people were walking out they had disgusted looks on their faces. I went to calissa last night with three friends. We waited about 10-15 minutes for our table. Which was reserved for Sat 7:30. Not to bad. The food was good but very overpriced. The service was also poor. We waited a long time for our food and extremely long for our check. The noise level was horrible!, no one at our table could hear anyone else. The garden seemed lovely and quiet but we were told no tables were available although several were free. Unlikely to return but if I did I would only do so if I could sit in the garden. read more

Very disappointing. Made a large reservation(12 people) weeks in advance for a Saturday night. Long story short I was never able to choose the prix fix menu even after several calls. I asked to pre order all apps and salads and dips and then to just have each person order there own entree since after 3 days of chasing someone to help me I still could not get them to email me their order form/menu. The manager gave me a hard no and cancelled my reservation the day before. So sad and horrible. Had to share. The menu (assuming you can get one) is brief and features shared entrees. If you seek healthy, well balanced meals, this is not the place. Meats are fatty and disappointing even for the basic carnivore in their lack of inspiration; veggie selection is at best limited. Finally, wines are only by the glass; not conducive to the group atmosphere and shared portions that they are trying to feature. Came here for my 21st birthday, which also happened to be on Saturday, the Fourth of July after a pandemic. Needless to say it was a crazy night for most restaurants and bars. Kylie, Michael, Niyah and the whole team were super helpful when helping me plan a really fun night on such short notice. They respected my budget and didn't try to push me into packages I wasn't comfortable spending and I actually ran into Kylie that night at the restaurant! She was so friendly and cool and took good care of my party. My entire group had an amazing night, dinner, drinks and dancing (socially distanced) were all a blast- so much so that we ended up coming back the following night! The policy of 8 people or more need to order family style??? Just a ploy to make more money off you. The table wasn't even big enough to hold all the plates once they finally arrived. Will NEVER go back. They have no idea what they're doing!!! Once we started complaining our server disappeared. Then finally came back apologizing, but still NO food. A lot of managers willing about, freaking out, but still not much got accomplished. This is all a problem in the hamptons. Not enough trained staff. Calissa takes the place of Red Stix (a very disappointing and over-priced Asian fusion). I was hesitant to try the Calissa, thinking that it was just another over-priced Hampton's eatery. But, it was the response to the Yelp review by the owner that made me decide to give it a whirl. Came with my in-laws for an early Father's Day dinner on Saturday night. First, the decor. No complaints. The place is open, warm, casual and still sophisticated. Next, the service. Our server (Shay W.) was great. She was friendly, knowledgeable on the menu and attentive, as was the rest of the staff (our water glasses were always full...very important). Next, the cocktails. A great selection of wine and cocktails. And, they make a great old fashion (only wish they'd use a large single ice-cube, but that's not a deal breaker). Last, the food. The food is best described as fresh ingredients with a slight Mediterranean influence. We ordered the fritters (delicious), grilled octopus (soft, flavorful) and the eggplant dip (loved the smoky flavor of the eggplant). Everything was delicious. After such a wonderful start, I couldn't wait until the main course. This is where the evening fell flat. My husband and I shared the salt baked fish (it had flavor, unfortunately, it was overcooked and dry.) Two people ordered the chicken (it looked delicious, but they said it lacked seasoning and was also dry). The clam risotto was so heavy that it left a coating in your mouth. My mother-in-law ordered the fish special - tile fish (also dry and lacked seasoning). Unfortunately, there seemed to be a disappointing running theme. On a positive note, the rotisserie carrots (which was recommended by our server) was really good. The yogurt really made the dish. I might give Calissa another try in a month or two in hopes that they've ironed out the kinks. But for the price, the preparation of the main courses need to be improved, because as it stand, it was not worth the money. read more

Went here with a group of 11 people to have a fun evening before going out. Our entire party wanted to have a great time and were more focused on having drinks than food. From what I remember the food quality was ok, nothing special but perfectly suited for the evening we were looking for. We ordered 5 entrees between us and 7 salads and appetizers. When the check arrived though, they had charged us for 50% more food then we had received or ordered. We could afford to pay the bill and walk away, but we really did not appreciate being taken advantage of by the manager. We contested all the additional charges for food we never ordered and did not receive. The manager turned aggressive with us and said if we didn't just pay he was going to call the police. We were happy for the police to come because we were being ripped off but thought it was a complete waste of police time. The police eventually did come but were at a loss of how to resolve a fight over the bill, which neither party could prove who was right, and the police were clearly annoyed at having their time wasted. Their advice was, " well now you know this is a rip off for next time, just don't come back." We ended up just paying to get out of there and not have the rest of our evening ruined. But FAIR WARNING, if you are a large group, they will try to rip you off on your order and add additional items to the bill! A real shame because it was a fun place to go with a large group of friends but not worth being taken advantage of. read more
