This place is amazing, everything from the ambiance, to the music, to the servers and to the food. The flavors were fantastic! I loved the included gratuity of 18% on account of the restaurant paying their waiters liveable wages, indeed very European. If the place was trying to evoke Mykonos, they suceeded. The interior was beautiful, the lighting set perfectly alongside all the decor and the transition from the indoor dining area to the outdoor dining area is superb! As you sit inside you can even see your meals being prepared as the restaurant features an open display kitchen. We greatly appreciated the attentiveness and sincerity of all of the wait staff, not just our main sever. Miguel is the best, we will most definitely be back. Our only complaints are that the fluke fish of the day was a bit dry and the Greek salad is not worth the price of $24, nor is any traditional Greek salad. read more

Given the terrible quality of the food, I have to think this place is more about the decor / dining experience than the food. - hummus - idk what was in this but it's not hummus. Perhaps chick peas just in the food processor with nothing else - salmon roe dip - way over whipped it was glucosey. Absolutely not edible - moussaka - the potatoes were not fully cooked and there was barely any lamb - side of sautéed greens - 100% dropping in oil that had burnt something. Again absolutely disgusting If it were just one dish I'd give a pass but to have all parts of the meal have issues to this extent speaks to the quality of this place overall. I came here recently and had a terrible experience. The apps were good but the entrees were overcooked and dry. Literally all of them. The alcohol pitchers are $100 each and have no alcohol in them. The servers are nice but very pushy and tried rushing us out. Don't get me started on management. The manager gave us the wrong check and tried charging us for more people. Then after spending almost 2k for dinner they tried telling us that we need to spend another $100 per person to stick around for some dj they got. Carissa is a one of a kind restaurant. I love the look of the outside, looks like an older well kept home. The inside is beautiful, great decor an indoor outdoor bar plus a huge outdoor dining section. Food was so different but still Greek. Best thing ever is the fried cheese!! Wow. I am so sorry we didn't try this place sooner! We had heard good things about Calissa but we didn't expect this. The decor is brilliantly executed. You feel relaxed as soon as you walk in. The staff is very friendly and attentive. They really know the menu and made some great recommendations. I had the best branzino I have ever had. It was truly perfection on a plate. The lamb chops were perfectly cooked perfectly to the proper temperature. Truly enjoyed every dish from the saganaki and Greek salad to the dessert. I'm so happy that this place exists in the Hamptons! They have organic items on the menu including grass fed meat, and also wild fish. It's so important to eat organic/pesticide-free/wild food, it totally impacts our bodies. Dear management: please continue to buy organic protein and vegetables for your kitchen! The quality translates into how the food tastes, and at this restaurant you can tell they are buying high quality stuff. It's worth the price tag. Note that this place is owned by the same individual who owns Amali Restaurant in NYC, so if you like going there you'll definitely like it here. It's nicely decorated, the staff is awesome and friendly, and you'll never feel rushed. There were more than enough waiters and servers that we never had to wait for anything, they'd pass by and we'd order whatever we needed. For those who are into wine, they have TONS of options here including of course Greek varietals. There are a few bottles here I haven't found except for local stores in Greece. Impressive! I've been using Yelp to help make dining decisions for over a decade and this is the first time I've felt compelled to leave a review. In fact, had I checked Yelp before going to Calissa I probably would have convinced the group to choose another establishment. Alas, I was not in charge of reservations. When you first walk into Calissa the vibe is chic and welcoming. That is the only time I felt either of those things during our time at the restaurant. The service was abysmal and management was rude and argumentative. I came with a group of 9 women for dinner on Saturday night. Similar to other reviewers, we were not informed that a group of our size is required to order from the Pre-Fixe menu until we were seated. The menus had no pricing on them and learned when the bill arrived that was because the charge would be $65 per person. Zero transparency from this establishment. Our server ignored our party and only provided the bare minimum in terms of service. After waiting for 30 minutes, our drink order finally arrived but not before our first course. When our mains arrived the chicken was clearly undercooked - both the meat and juices were bright pink. When I asked if they could cook the chicken more, the staff argued with me that it was intentionally served this way. I could go on about several other less than desirable interactions with the staff during the meal, but I think you get the point. When the bill arrived they made no adjustments for the raw chicken or bad drinks. To add insult to injury they automatically included 20% gratuity to a large party. As a former server, I understand that this is pretty standard practice but that restaurants can make adjustments if a party isn't happy. Not at Calissa. After speaking to the manager, I was told there wasn't anything they could do to help us. The best she could do is take the $5 iced tea (pro tip: soft drinks are not bottomless) that took 30 minutes to arrive and a cocktail that we never ordered off the bill. This place is hilarious! We walked in this past Friday for 2 people. Nothing but teenagers with fake ID's getting them taken away by the front door. The place was filled with teenagers. Bartender said it's the new norm. The outside looked like a cafeteria with tables jammed together. The vibe killed the entire experience and the food was sub par at best. The food is amazing! My husband ordered crispy zucchini chips with tzatziki sauce and they were sooooo good! I don't eat chips , but those were outstanding! I left a 5-star review previously, but this place has only managed to get even better! As a Hamptons local that doesn't cook, I've been to all the restaurants out east which generally range from mediocre to good-ish. By contrast, Calissa is incredible and to my mind, the best place to spend an evening in the Hamptons-gorgeous food, drinks, ambience, people, and staff. Unlike so many other places in the Hamptons which can feel like overpriced sardine cans during the summer crush, this place is so huge and well designed that even at the height of the summer it has perfect flow between indoor and outdoor space. Parking is easy and safe, there's a big, sceney bar with an adjacent dance area, the dining room is beautiful and luxe, and the outdoor patio and garden are everything that summer in the Hamptons is about. Service is great here, and partners James and Tonya are often around and treat everyone like rockstars....James also happens to be the Hamptons awesomest DJ, which gets the party started the minute you step out of your car. They have incredible regular performances by the Gipsy Kings, and apparently Wyclef Jean is performing on August 1. There's nothing snooty or snotty here, just beautiful people enjoying the best that the Hamptons has to offer. All of the food is great and fresh, but I find myself dreaming about the tuna crudo, the swordfish, and baklava. The rudest staff ever. This establishment needs to be condemned by the board of health. There are porta potties where you are eating. There is dead flies stuck in the mesh of the tent that should of been cleaned up. Our family was a large table that sat along the wall where the food was being handled only to find rat traps and sweaty employees handling our food. Order a $30+ chicken and it's a small, dry, grilled piece of chicken that you could make at home for $1. First time here (we were a group of 9, teens to adults), celebrating my niece's 18th birthday. Exceptional service and the food was outstanding and authentic. Even our picky eaters expanded their palates and found things they loved! The DJ was great, not too loud and a great selection of music. And as an unexpected special bonus, the Gypsy Kings performed live!!! Also, I want to point out that the restaurant had a wedding function in addition to their regular restaurant guests (indoor and outdoor). The hostess have attitude but the people at the bar are amazing so I would hate to lump them in this rating because they all deserve a 5 star for prompt service. The bathrooms are clean and I love the candle addition in that mini hall. Now to the food, it was underwhelming. to stay the least. I took out two stars mainly because of the hostesses and the food. I mean it's not bad but I expected more quality from the prices. The decor and ambience was so cute and it felt like Mykonos or Paros. It could be because I'm greek and I expect greek food to taste a certain way whether it's traditional or non-traditional. I've probably driven past this restaurant over a hundred times and never thought to stop. Finally, on a Sunday afternoon, I thought to try it when my husband and I were in the area. I saw online that they do brunch so we decided to give it a shot. We're so glad that we did! What a great spot! The inside is really well decorated - you almost feel like you're in Miami or Tulum - it's got a really bohemian/tropical vibe. The brunch menu was awesome! We split lamb burger and the Greek salad and it was out of this world! Burger was perfectly cooked and had a ton of flavor! Our server, Rudy, took wonderful care of us. My sister and I had an amazing time at Calissa this weekend. They were able to accommodate my two-year-old niece and our waiter went above and beyond to make sure she had a nice night. We sat in the inside dining area which was beautiful with lots of colorful decorations to play "I Spy" with! We started out with tzatziki and kafteri dips. Both were insane and we had enough to bring home to snack on later! We split the avgolemono soup and it had a lot more sustenance than I'm used to, but it was perfect and is now a new favorite style. My niece had the spanakopita and Greek fries for dinner and ate both up which is quite the compliment. My sister opted for the chicken souvlaki platter and said she loved it. I had the perfectly cooked salmon with a side of sautéed Horta greens and I'm still thinking about it. We finished our meal off with some baklava (which I've been craving for months) and it met every expectation I had. Unfortunately we were really disappointed in this restaurant. The food was just meh... we were famished & didn't finish our meal because it just wasn't good. (We had a variety of small plates.) Of particular note for those that have a gluten allergy - do NOT assume that if something is marked GF on the menu that the dish is entirely gluten free. We ordered an appetizer marked GF on the menu, which was served with pita chips, but the chips were not GF. When I ask, the server said they'd bring cucumbers instead, but if I hadn't ask I wouldn't have known the dish wasn't GF as shown on the menu. It's also fairly expensive... very much so considering the quality of the food. Overall unfortunately it was a poor experience. read more

We had a great Mother's Day brunch at Calissa. Food was on point and service was friendly. The eggs from Browder's Birds were amazing! (I'm now trying to get some for our home as well.) The prices are comparable to those at other good restaurants and it's the Hamptons so what do you expect. Definitely on our go-to list now. Wow! Wow! We picked up take out tonight and tried a whole slew of things figuring some wouldn't be our taste. As much as I love some Greek dishes...often Greek restaurants rely too heavily on garlic, dill and lemon in ALL their dishes and it feels more like tapas than a gourmet meal. Not tonight! Calissa knocked it out of the park! Moussaka to die for... best calamari I've had in a while...spanakopita was A+...lobster bucatini was A++, salmon was a relatively small portion (4 oz?) but fried to perfection! We didn't love the leek rice or lemon potatoes but they weren't unpleasant--just not blockbuster like everything else! Fried cheese/honey/fig didn't work as takeout--probably needs to be served fresh/warm. Pita and eggplant dip, great. Greek salad yum. Spaghetti with clams, yum. Thank you for giving me a much needed break from my own cooking! We will be back. read more
