They asked a few questions over the phone to get a basic idea of the problem(s). I wasn't entirely pleased at the cost of just the service call (~$100) but realized that it takes into account the knowledge of the tech and the rising costs of everything. The gentleman called to let me know he'd be at my home in about 20 minutes, and was early into my two-hour block of time. Thankfully the issue was able to be fixed on the spot and the tech had all the parts needed. The final price was very reasonable and I will gladly call this company again if needed.

We have a new all-in-one washer/dryer that was leaking soon after delivery (or the leak was…read morenoticed). Too late to return so GE set up a repair call under warranty with Appliance Tec. I sent specific information on the machine and the problem. This is a newer model machine as well. The first tech that was sent over told me that he didn't work on these machines and kind of stood around and then gave up. This was not impressive. However, a different tech came the following day (Andres). And, he was able to take the machine apart and find the origin of the leak. The replacement parts were ordered. And, I was happy to see Andres a few weeks later with the replacement parts. He showed us the problem (a hole and crack in the detergent dispenser ... On a new machine) and replaced it in about an hour and a half. We were the 10th appointment of the day according to the appointment tracker. And he was still efficient and polite. So, while it was a rough start. I'm happy to say it got better!

James was supposed to come out to fix my LG Refrigerator on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. I contacted James that morning via text to provide him my husbands contact information as he would be home in order for the repair to be done. James texted me back 10 minutes later stating he had a migraine and was taking medication to try and get rid of it and he would follow up to let me know if he would be able to still arrive in the afternoon or if he would need to reschedule. I again asked James to reach out to my husband as he was the one working from home for James to do the repair. James never showed up, never called. I attempted to call and text James at 4:00 that day to reschedule. He did not answer nor did he return my calls. Today, through New Leaf Warranties, I was connected with James. As I was trying to express my frustration and need to get the repair done, James hung up the phone in the middle of my talking. When I tried to call back, James did not answer. This is very unprofessional to 1 not show up for schedule repairs and not contact customer to reschedule and 2 to hang up the phone when someone is speaking. I will never use Upstate Appliances in the future after this type of service.

He then proceeded to ask what the problem was, and I explained what the issue was, then he laughed and said "sounds like you have a major problem, but I dont go that far". I had a great experience at Kirby Vacuum of Webster yesterday (May 15, 2026). I arrived with a…read moreKirby vacuum that would not start and whose agitator was not properly engaging carpet. The man who greeted me put the vacuum on a counter, explained that there is a switch where a hose meets the base that needs to be activated for it to start, made the adjustment and started it right up. Then he took apart the base, adjusted the drive belt, tested it, and put the base back together. He did all of this in about five to ten minutes as I stood and watched. The man who did this was not only knowledgeable, but also had a great sense of humor, even using the word "bereft" in a funny way. When we went to buy a new dishwasher a year ago, we mentioned not being happy with a refrigerator that we bought there, but was out of warranty. They said that was unacceptable and took it upon themselves to get the manufacturer to make it right. We got a brand new one as a result. The latest bit of praise is that I messed up a setting on the microwave I got there a while back and Steve, spent 45 minutes with me in the phone trying to fix it. When we had no luck , he emailed me my receipt, which I lost and set up a service call for me. This people is why I go to this store and not a big box. Service is everything when you need help with an expensive item.
