The drivers are great. it's the managmenet, dispatchers (not all of them), and the supervisors. I've had to file an incident report, and after the incident report all of a sudden they have no one to take me to my appointments, this has happened THREE TIMES! once, I was left outside and got sick, the building wasn't even opened yet, second time the driver made me feel uncomfortable, and the last time my arm got injured. horrible and completely sad. they really don't care, they are listed online with info like "a transportation company that ensured that the most vulnerable communities in California received the care they deserved." I call bullshit! NOT only do they not care! they retaliate against those who complain, or make incident reports. even when I said the injury wasn't done on purpose, I just needed it to be documented. all of a sudden I have no one to take me. horrible experience. drivers are usually always nice though. read more

These dispatchers at call the car are violating people's rights. They are calling Doctors offices and pharmacies trying to get patient information. According to title CFR 42 there is a Doctors and patients confidentiality and when My Doctors office doesn't give them info then call the car will cancel the ride this is unethical and a clear violation. These people are only dispatchers and are in no way involved in the medical field, shame on them and the Doctors offices that do give them info about a patient. This was our first and will be our last experience booking transportation for our elderly mother with this company and Call the Car completely dropped the ball. The good-ease of making appointment. The app is fairly user friendly. The bad-the driver never showed up, causing our elderly mother to miss her doctor's appointment and she had to reschedule. Luckily, her provider was understanding. However, this will not always be the case, especially when providers often charge a no show fee. Driver was scheduled to come a half hour before appointment. This time was set by Call the Car. Calls and texts were made to confirm the ride but it was all for nothing. When I call, getting an actual person on the phone can be tricky. Tried confirming location of the driver and phone system sent me to AI, giving me incorrect information. Stating car was 20 minutes away, then 10, then saying car was at the location, when it was nowhere to be found. Call center couldn't account for the driver's lateness. Driver finally contacted our mom stating that Call the Car contacted him late for the pickup. So who's accountable? Canceled future appointments we had set up with Call the Car. Will use Uber or Lyft in the future for her. What a shame, we thought this would be a helpful service for our mother and Call the Car completely missed the mark. The AI isn't that intelligent. This company is making money off contracts with MediCal, Medicare, whatever entity, so unfortunately, this is another instance where the consumer gets shorted. BEWARE!! read more

Call the car..phone system has failed to provide crucial rides for labs, specialty appointments, and medication prescription drop off/pick up all last week. I am disabled from a car accident , and have a traumatic brain injury...can't stand or walk much so, I rely heavily on transportation services. My child is special needs, and she also is without her meds, and missed a specialty appointment at UCLA Ronald Reagan. They're claiming the phones are working just the hold times are long...WRONG! Once you wait an hour or 30 mins ..You get sent to the survey..end of call. No appointment made, and you must start all over again. Today, my call the car confirmation # 12969242 meant absolutely nada!! No lift. No uber nada nunca ): I would call again, but if we do obtain a ride, will I be stranded with my child It's a holiday weekend, so we can't reach out to another company or anyone for that matter. Horrible service. We have twice booked Call the Car for my mother and both times have been a failure. She is in a wheelchair and can't transfer without assistance, so she requires a wheelchair van. The first time, they sent a Toyota Corolla. They could not get a van out in time, so she missed that doctor's appointment. We rescheduled the appointment, and I was extremely clear that she needs a van that can accommodate a wheelchair being rolled in. We discussed what time of wheelchair she has, the weight of it, etc. Then they sent a Jeep. So, she has missed two doctor's appointments. This service is included with her insurance, so we are stuck with it until we switch insurance. For now we will have to use a paid service instead because we have no faith that they will send the vehicle she needs. read more

If there is anything worse than zero I would definitely be giving it to them. They've no showed five times with me so I've missed five appointments . They have a new policy where they can pick you up 15 minutes late and pick you up 15 minutes early so you miss a great deal of your appointment or the whole appointment . They'll send you a text and say go to the curb so you do but then when you get there they send another text and say we're in the area you have 5 minutes to find them before they leave so you call them to let them know that you're looking for them can't find them one hung up on me 10 times one didn't speak English and one never picked up the phone . They are unreliable unpleasant and really just the worst you could possibly deal with . If you want to make it to your appointments I would strongly suggest finding other ways to get there if you rely on call the car you won't get there or you'll get there late and have to leave early . Issues almost every time. Rides don't show. Several cancelled appointments because of it. Ride home has been just as bad. Waiting an hour and a half to get home several times. Being told ride is 10 minutes away and waiting 45 minutes. Twice in a weeks time waiting an hour and a half before being picked up to go home. Also no Lyft or Uber in area but they keep ordering them. Keep telling them I have a walker and cars get sent that they don't fit in their trunk. IEHP needs a better company to work with. read more

I have become a regular user of Call the Car for my health care appointments. Suffering a spinal cord injury last spring I've had to make many adjustments to this "new normal" way of life. I am grateful for Call the car and the independence it has given me. I don't have to bother anyone for a ride and making reservations is so easy. I've had safe conscientious drivers who help me with my walker and any bags I may have, never making me feel helpless and always with a smile. They get me to my destination on time in a clean well maintained vehicle.. When my appointment is through I simply "Will call" for my return ride home and they're there in minutes. in the meantime they ease my mind with a text notifying me of wait time, drivers name, type of vehicle & the plate number. I never feel like I'm getting into a car with a stranger. All my drivers have been people I could be friends with. Offering light, pleasant conversation and laughter. From the customer service rep who takes my reservation to the driver and the social media personnel everyone seems happy with their employment with Call the Car. As satisfied as I am with this benefit there's always room for improvement. I appreciate respecting my privacy and security but sometimes it seems to take longer that it should to verify who I am. As fast as it progresses I'm sure technology will develop a quicker way of getting this part done sooner than later. Around this time last year my doctors didn't know if I'd ever walk again And it's likely I'll never drive again. Being dependent on someone for help with even the simplest of tasks was hard to accept. I'm just 66 years old and my Lord willing I have a few miles to go. With some hard work and the support of IEHP and Call the Car this is one huge change I can handle for myself. I am so grateful for this benefit it not only relieves me of feeling like a burden on family and friends it instills some self worth, confidence and freedom needed for my emotional health as well as physical healing. This experience has reminded me to find gratitude in all things; it's there sometimes you just have to look a little harder for it. In life you never know what tomorrow may bring. But if tomorrow I need to be brought to a health appointment I know Call the Car will get me there safely, on time and I may even make a new friend along the way. read more

Call the Car is habitually late for pick ups and dispatch has a tendency to overbook the drivers...not giving them enough time to get to pick ups on time. They add extra runs eventhough there is a scheduled standing order in place. I wouldn't use them if I had a choice. read more

They've always gotten me there on time and gotten me back home as well. Even when there have been times that the address got messed up they still took me to where I needed to go. This service is not consistent and has left my mom without wheelchair transportation several times now when nobody showed up. We have missed appointments and I have had to call for a wheelchair van and pay my own money(not covered by her insurance) just to get her to and from Dr appointments. These appointments are crucial to her care and are very difficult to get another booked in a reasonable amount of time. They have no backup system for when nobody shows up and that is completely unacceptable. If you are a medical transport company you need to get people to their appointments! I also called and I was left on hold for over 20 min with nobody coming back on the line to let me know if they still knew I was waiting for a supervisor...unacceptable. read more

Right now my only complaint is their outside vendors are always late. After getting out at 2pm after my sons appt. I called for our return ride home & was told it would be an hour, that was fine. After 1 hr 15 minutes I called again. I was told again it would be another hour, which now made it 2-1/2 hrs waiting. After that hr came & went, I called a 3rd time & I was told it would be another hour 5:30. My son is in a wheelchair, paraplegic & needs van accessible and he is non-transferable. We sat for 2-1/2 hrs just to be told another hr. pick up would have been a total of 3 hrs. My son was exhausted from his appt and so was I. Needless to say, I cancelled Call The Car & called Uber. 20 minutes & $42 later we were on our way home. read more

Today was my first time using call the car and it will absolutely be my last. I got dropped off by a vehicle early this morning, the company told me that once my doctors appointment is over to call and a car will pick me up in 5 to 30 minutes, so when it was over, we called for my ride. After a few minutes, the car called and said there was a delay and that they would be there in about 45 minutes. A little bit later, they called and said there was a little bit more of a delay. After about two hours, my mom and I called directly called and asked what the deal was. They lied and said that we never called to place my pick up. We have phone call timestamps proving we called to place my pick up multiple times, and the phone call receipts of them calling saying there was delays. After multiple hours, we finally called an Uber even though I have to stay in my wheelchair with my legs elevated, I also have a broken pelvic bone and sacrum, and cannot stay sitting in my wheelchair for multiple hours. We expressed this to the company and they kept delaying my pick up. They left me sitting outside of my doctors appointment for hours, and then proceeded to lie and say we never called for my pick up. Then while I was in my Uber, they called my mother multiple times saying that they were going to pick me up in "30-40 minutes" after we told them we will no longer be needing their services because of how insanely unprofessional they are. This is extremely unprofessional and unsafe to leave a handicapped patient sitting in a wheelchair like that for that long, knowing that they have severe injuries. I am genuinely appalled at how poorly this company is being ran. read more

However, they recently updated their app, which doesn't work at all now, and for which they provide no instruction on how to use it.
