As I was trying to make a reservation for a dental appointment the representative asked me what time the appointment was and I told her 8 AM she said ma'am I can't schedule you an appointment if the dental office is closed. I ended the call and this representative had the nerve to go behind my back, call the dental office to confirm my daughter's appointment. I was so mad because after I ended the call what gives her the right to still want to verify my daughter's appointment? That creeper me out. And it's not like she called me back to say she did what did and make a reservation. I made a complaint against her. Some of representatives are rude. Especially after 6pm to night time. A few years ago, 2 phone representatives doubted me. And I couldn't go home. I had to use a bus to go home because he assumed I told him a lie. I requested a car to go home from my primary care hospital for dropping my sample. Because it was a bit after their business time, he thought I was trying to use it for other purposes. And the way he talked was rude as well. I was outside alone and it got darker and darker. Doctors nurses and therapists left there one by one while I was talking on the phone with him. And they were concerned about me. The second time was a lady in the morning , I had an appointment for vaccination at CVS. She immediately doubted me and made me wait on hold for 30min and she told me there was no reservation so she didn't schedule a ride. CVS lady knew I would come over because I talked with her on the phone but technically I wasn't scheduled because she said I didnt need a reservation, so I couldn't get a ride. And. The representative was too disrespectful. She just wanted to doubt and labeled me as a liar. The third one was another lady it was in the night. She was crazy rude. I had to go to university to get laboratory checked. She didn't make a reservation for me. She didn't want to. And she doubted as well. And she was rude from the beginning. The way she talked to me was 0 respect. A bully type of woman. I had to just end the phone call. " And then after that, she deleted some of my other reservations without my permission!! They were already approved. She didn't notify anything. I know she wanted to do it to put me in a hard situation. She is a bully. " UNBELIEVABLE!! And today around 10pm. This guy representative, he didn't understand English. It's ok not speaking well but it's necessary to understand what customers say. It can still be OK but it is not OK him being rude! His accent was Spanish speaker accent. 0 communication skills. Basically he ignored what I talked or asked even though I repeated 3 times what I said again and again for him as requested. And he talked over me many many times. Didn't respect my talk. He forced to connect to LA CARE for a simple question that he could've answered when I said I didn't need him to transfer to them. I told him so 3 times though he just talked over me without listening to me still talking and he spoke too fast to connect with them on purpose to ignore me. WHY THE HELL YOU GUYS DO THIS JOB ? THATS NOT WHERE YOU GUY SHOULD WORK AT ! Learn hospitality more PERIOD. I recommend you to use an app then you don't have to deal with these stupid people. If you have to call, call them in the morning. There are nicer. Less opportunity you have to deal with stupid people than night time. To the management, please monitor representatives' customer service skills especially the night shift and weekend shift representatives. And educate them and fire all of the rude people. Im giving a 1 star only because i cant put 0 absolute nightmare fuel. The ctc mobile app does not work for example the clinic I frequent has a substantial amount of patients and out of all of them the app worked for 2 people everyone else has the same complaint that it won't accept their active Bic ID. I keep on top of my benefits as I am a mother and as I previously said I frequent a local clinic in my community I rely on call the car to get there and back every week day and as of March 1st. (Today) they tell me my account is inactive.... I used it Friday and I thought maybe it's the month granted the slim chances considering I renewed my benefits in January as to keep up to date funny my status after being td thus by a call the car rep (sorry 2 different reps) I went online to make sure my insurance is active and it is literally green lighted active. Now because of their 24 hour enforcement rule (that I had missed a day of clinic because they gave 0 warning that was being enforced ahead of time they just denied my ride....NOT SURE HOW LEGAL THAT IS) Even when I have to wait til tomorrow am the next business day to call the medical office I'm still going to miss clinic tomorrow and possibly Tuesday due to their enforced 24 hour rule due to their mistake . I'm not looking forward to being sick knowing what I have to look forward to and the stress that is going to put on my already stroke risked heart. GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER CALL THE CAR! read more

After discharge from the emergency room, I called for a ride and was told that it was scheduled and the ride would arrive shortly. I called back 20 mins later because I still had not received the confirmation only to learn that no ride was scheduled. It then took another 40 minutes to receive a new ride. I tried to schedule this ride shortly before discharge to avoid a wait and was told it had to be after discharge, and was assured it would only be a 10-15 minute wait. "Call the Car' is a medical transportation company that is a service offered by Blue Shield Promise Health Plan. In 2023 and before they provided an acceptable service. They picked patients up on time and delivered patients to their medical appointments on time, and then returned the patients home. There were occasions when one of the two drivers did not speak English, but the other driver did. Most of the drivers seemed to be from Eastern European countries. All of the drivers that I encountered had been friendly until the end of 2023. That has changed drastically in 2024! The first time I used this service in February 2024 was a complete disaster! The company sent two drivers who did not speak a single word of English. They also could not read their directions, or follow instructions. They picked up a bedridden, disabled patient from an acute care facility and took the patient to the wrong address. The bedridden patient was supposed to be taken to a doctor's appointment. When the people at the wrong address wouldn't accept the patient, instead of calling to clarify the destination, they took it upon themselves to try to take the patient to another address. The second location they tried to deliver the patient was a former residence. The drivers were also unable to leave the disabled patient at the residence. At this point, the drivers had been out with the patient in the back of their van for over an hour, and finally called their dispatcher to clarify the destination. The dispatcher called me and I gave her the doctor's address again. On their third attempt, the drivers were able to take the disabled patient to the doctor's office. I met them there at the doctor's office. The patient was late but still was able to see the doctor. When it was time to take the patient to the next destination, the drivers tried to tell me that they needed to leave the disabled patient with me, because they had another patient to pick up. I was there to assist the patient at the doctor's office. I had no way to transport a bedridden patient! I told them that it was impossible to leave the patient with me. The drivers would have to take the patient back to the original acute care facility where they started. Both drivers were clearly agitated and speaking to each other in harsh tones, in another language. They called their dispatcher again. This time the dispatcher told them to take the bedridden patient to the nearest emergency room. They were possibly hoping to find a translator there, I am not sure. I decided to go to the emergency room to see what the drivers were doing. At the emergency room, the drivers asked the staff if they could leave the bedridden patient, because they had another patient to pick up. The emergency room staff refused to accept the patient that the drivers were trying to dump. By this point the drivers were shouting at people and waving their arms. They were agitated and aggressive. They were using their dispatcher over the phone to translate with the emergency room staff. The emergency room staff kept telling me that it was incredibly irresponsible and dangerous for Call the Car to send out two drivers with a bedridden patient, that did not speak or read a word of English. They insisted that I report them to Medicare, which I will do. Finally the drivers realized that they had to return the patient back to the original acute care facility where they started. They were clearly upset with me and with the emergency room staff when they left. They did not take responsibility for getting lost in the morning and driving around for over an hour, without knowing their destination. I agree with the emergency room staff, that this service is dangerous and should be avoided! read more

Today, I had an appointment with my hemotologist. I scheduled a ride this morning to 15211 Vanowen. The driver seem to be driving away from my destination. So, I asked him his drop-off location. He told me 18425 Burbank, which is my respiratory therapy address. I informed him that I had an appointment with my hemotologist doctor. So, he took me to 15211 Vanowen in Los Angeles . I had an appointment with respiratory Wednesday and I have one with them Friday which is tomorrow. But today was with the hemotologist. When I called for my ride home, they said that they couldn't pick me up. They said that the system showed that I had been dropped off at 18425 Burbank. They said that there was nothing they could do about it. Leaving me stranded. And then my oxygen ran out. It just so happened that one of the people that I'm in the infusion room with time to time saw me and gave me a ride home. When I was trying to leave to go home, she was on her way home after getting her treatment. She saw me still sitting downstairs and asked if I needed a ride home. I told her, yes and she brought me home. You should probably ask the driver what's the address of his or her drop off point before getting into the vehicle. I hope that you have a better day than I did. I do thank God and I'm grateful for my friend bringing me home. read more

They did not show up on the outbound trip. Well, that is because they dispatched the driver on the return trip instead. They did not even care that we missed the appointment. Also, their IT service is lousy. The account keeps getting locked and it takes multiple calls to get it unlocked. Even then it still gets locked after a week or so. read more

After being over two hours late to a hard-to-schedule medical appointment, a Call the Car representative told me that all they do is "log the issue" but that they know "no one will do anything with the information". Can you believe that? This company does not and will not care until it hurts their profits. The most rude people on a phone call. Asking them for their name is like a big issue for them. They'll just ignore your question. Act as if they scheduled your ride to the hospital to get chemo and fucking hang up on you. For Christ sake. Your life is that bad that you can't even give great customer service? If you're miserable then find a better job! And it seems to be the people who have a language barrier who always are giving attitude. CallTheCar is a company intended to provide transportation for medical patients. In the last month, we have required their services on many occasions, mostly regularly. They have failed to show up to pick up our loved one, the patient for 3 different confirmed reservations. Two of those were for dialysis, a procedure critical to one's life! They lack the compassion, empathy, professionalism, communications to operate ANY business. But when they are dealing with passengers who are wrestling with their own medical issues, life issues, they must be fully cognizant of the impact of their actions. CallTheCar is not. I *attempted* to use Call the Car for the first time to schedule a ride to my surgery and they never picked me up, it took them 40 minutes just to return my call and explain that "they were having an update in their system" so that's why I got left behind. I had to call an uber using my own money and when I requested reimbursement they said I'd have to ask my insurance. Ok fine, but can you guys send me an email confirming all of this information so I can show my insurance? Apparently the answer was no. I almost missed my surgery and now I'm out $30 because of them. i use this service several times a week since I was disabled for 15 months and am now in recovery. The app can be a little wonky sometimes because you can't be guaranteed a ride with less than 24 hours notice. But you can always call to make a reservation at any time. The experience you have with a driver only reflects on the Uber and Lyft providers. The call center folks are always courteous and charming, helpful and thorough. I would never have made it through medical catastrophe or recovery without this service, and that includes rides for family members to visit in the hospital, picking up meds at pharmacy, or a ride to the ER. They really try to assist with ANY level of care. I know there are uniquely terrible experiences for everyone, and I've had a few weirdo Lyfts and Ubers, but overall my experience with call the car has ultimately left me feeling grateful and not begging family and friends to sacrifice time from their commitments to burden them with my care. So even though it is still a burden on society that I use this service from wherever the funding comes from. I am left feeling some semblance od independence when I suddenly couldn't even rely on my own body. So thanks CTC! read more

Only rating this a 2 instead of a 1 because the driver I got for a 100+ mile trip was really nice and really professional & actually showed up on time. If you live in a rural area this service sucks. They constantly try to put you on uber/lyft even if you call multiple times and practically beg for a vendor and not uber/lyft. I could've been put on a vendor but I've missed 3 appointments by now, two of which were definitely because of the aforementioned uber/lyft problem. I literally never write reviews but I went out of my way for this one because it's been fucking with my surgery date big time and it might have to be rescheduled because of this service's incredibly unreliability. For the love of god just coordinate with your loved ones if the ride is under 100 miles. read more
