    Bacon Sun City

An absolute 5/5 every time. Super easy to order online, or made quickly if you order in person. The staff is really nice and efficient. The Bacon Sun City is the perfect breakfast sandwich, but you definitely need to try the seasonal baked goods too. A must stop when you're in DC. The outside is so cute and unmissable in pink. Very tight ordering area, but a short walk to Georgetown's campus is the perfect spot to enjoy your breakfast.

Delish, but crowded to the point of overwhelming. Get your food and run!! And while you're in, try the maple salt and pepper bagel!

Food- Pastrami, egg whites, American and cheddar, plain bagel. The pastrami on a breakfast sandwich was a game changer. So good! The food was very hot (temperature) so be careful! The aesthetics inside and out looked incredible. This place looked amazing! The 1 downside is that there is no inside seating and it generates a longer wait and you must wait outside in the cold. The service was great! Easily broke down the menu and ingredients to their specialty sandwiches.

Found this place from social media & I will say it does live up to the hype. This is a popular bagel sandwich spot. We tried a couple sandwiches, the grandezza & the big bird (w/chicken). First, we tried the big bird with the za'atar bagel, the sandwich itself was good but pretty basic toppings. The star of the show was the za'atar bagel, it was super flavorful with all the seasonings on it. Then we decided to order the grandezza with an everything bagel, this one was super delicious with a nice cheese pull & a generous amount of pesto. This sandwich made us love this place & made us wish we had ordered this one in the first place! Overall, a nice spot for a sandwich spot. Pro-tip is to order online ahead of time as there can be a bit of a wait especially if there's a line.

It's easy to spot this place as it is a pink building, but hard to find parking nearby! Ots all street parking and read the signs carefully if you're not from the area, so you don't park in a permit only parking zone. It's a very small shop so when there is 4 people in line, that 4th person is at the door. They move quickly with getting the orders taken, so that line moves quick. You do have to wait for your order and that's where it gets tricky. Not much waiting space, so you will be in very close proximity to many people, so make some friends! They also do a lot of pick up orders, so the wait be longer than it looks. I got an everything bagel with garlic herb cream cheese. Now for the best part....the bagel is sooooooo perfect! It has the chewy consistency that a bagel should have. They put just the right ratio of cream cheese to bagel. I almost wanted to go back again while I was visiting, but there is too many places for me to try in DC, but I will be back next time I'm visiting the area.

I didn't like the drip coffee. It seemed more bitter/sour than a fresh brew. It also doesn't come with refills which seems easy enough to offer for a dine-in customer. The bagel with the latke delivered though and they're nice.

My friends and I were told that we must try Call Your Mother Deli for breakfast and I'm glad we did! Although there was a line out the door, it moved pretty quickly. The employees also provided great service inside. I ended up ordering a hibiscus juice which was a little bitter but refreshing. I can't remember the exact name of the bagel sandwich but it had flattened eggs and honey hot and a couple other ingredients but unfortunately I don't remember what they were. Regardless, the sandwich was really good and so filling! I saved half of it to eat later.

As someone who really hates to wait for food, this place is worth the wait and hype. We loved their bagels. We visited on a very cold day, and just thought it was unfortunate there isn't more seating space to enjoy the bagel inside

This is the OG iconic location located a couple of blocks from M street. I popped in a on a busy Saturday and the line was to the door. I always get their iced matcha latte or one of the breakfast bagels. Sun city and Thunderbird and Royal palm are always a must order for me. Seating is limited here, but service is quick. I received my food and drink order less than 3 minutes after I ordered them. Popular tourist spot in the area and I would definitely stop by if you've never been inside or taken a picture outside.

Yummm!! If you're looking for a filling bagel spot, you've found the spot! Georgetown's Call Your Mother Deli tends to be on the busier side so expect a wait just to order. However, after ordering, the food comes out pretty quickly. This time I ordered the Thunderbird bagel sandwich. I like the balance between sweet and salty. The spicy honey added a nice touch to the bagel and the egg was nice and fluffy. The bagel itself had good chew to it and was a unique flavor of maple salt and pepper. There isn't any seating inside so most take it to go or stand outside and eat it.

The bagels and drinks were so delicious, and the customer service was amazing! Everyone was super friendly and welcoming. Definitely looking forward to coming back!

Service was quick, and the décor was beautiful. The wait time was great, and the bagels were absolutely delicious and fresh. I definitely recommend going with a friend and swapping halves so you can try more than one flavour. Great experience overall

Wow there's a reason this place is always so busy! I came here on a Friday afternoon and the line was out the door! I definitely recommend ordering online to save time. That's what I did and after less than 10 minutes, the food was ready to be picked up. It's a small shop with no indoor seating. However, outdoor there are a few benches to eat at and there is a QR code you can scan by the door that shows Georgetown's public seating map The Thunder Bird (chicken sausage, eggs, and cheese) was really good. The bagel was soft and the chicken with the honey was really good. The Bacon Sun City (bacon, egg, and cheese) wasn't as good. The bagel was harder and the bacon was just okay. I would have preferred if the bacon was more crispy.

I wasn't anticipating a nice dining room to dine in, but there it was so we did. Although it was uncomfortably warm in there. Must have been something wrong with their A/C because they couldn't possibly always have it so warm, especially in the middle of summer. I ordered The Clevelander and she had The Mel. And of course we hit their awesome pickle bar! Why doesn't every deli in the universe have a pickle bar?! The sandwiches are piled high with meat and so delicious. Several complaints about mine, however: the menu said it comes with mayo and provolone. It came out with no spread at all so I was brought mayo packets to apply myself, which is way less than ideal with a huge already assembled sandwich. And the brand new server (on her second day there) came back after we ordered and asked if I wanted cheese. I mentioned I thought it listed a cheese on the menu, which she confirmed. But then I ended up getting charged extra for the cheese that my sandwich was supposed to come with. Kind of lame. And while my friend was asked if she wanted hers toasted, I was not. I didn't think twice about it until mine came out toasted, which I neither asked for or wanted. Lastly, the sandwich was also supposed to come with "fresh cranberry spread" and if there was any on my sandwich, it wasn't detectable. But I decided not to even mention it because I didn't want to deconstruct my sandwich a second time. Regardless of these hiccups, I would certainly consider returning.

I heard good things about their sandwiches. My go to is normally Mangialardo's on Pennsylvania Ave in SE DC or Carl's Subbs on Rhode Island Ave in NE DC. I think I will stick to both of them next time. The staff was very friendly and helpful to me as a first timer but the sandwich was totally disapointing! NOT worth it, at all. I ordered a 9 inch capicola, ham, and cheese sub on the hard roll. The roll was very good and fresh but I couldn't taste the cheese or meat in the sandwich because there wasn't enough of it. I tasted the bread, the toppings of lettuce, tomato and onions. I decided to deconstruct the sandwich and found exactly 4 very thinly sliced pieces of meat and 2 very thinly sliced pieces of cheese as pictured clearly in the photographs. I also noticed that the they have different prices for the same type of meats. For example, they have a $29.99 per pound Capicola and one for $9.99 a pound. I asked which went on the sandwich and of course it was the cheaper one. That wasn't surprising and getting my sandwich back to the office. I decided not to eat the rest of the meatless sandwich and just take the loss. I wouldn't come back nor would I recommend a friend to try it

But maybe that's better for them too. You can order to-go at the window and/or request a spot in the limited spaced dining/bar area. I've only gotten the Sub Club the few times I've gone here but what can I say? its a fail proof staple that is hard to get wrong and that they do very right. I often pair it with one of their drinks, this time being the spicy ginger ale which was solid as well. There's really not much place to dine-in if you're trying to dine and go - I recommend only using the dining area if you're solo, a couple, or part of a small group (at MOST maybe - a hard maybe - on 4 people) and only if you want to use the bar. One couple tried to squeeze in a baby stroller into the bar/dining area. Its really not suitable for things like suitcases or strollers so if you're in that camp maybe try some other spots because that also made a tiny space all the more difficult to navigate. Also, if you have a mobility device, this might not be the best spot for you either. I've never used their restrooms before so can't comment on that one. I still will say it is good for when you want to grab and go - so if you're in that category, and you like moderately priced sandwiches (for this part of town) this might work for you.
