Chips and Salsa 2.99$ free refills
    Asa P.

Stopped in for my first visit on a weekend during dinner service. Unfortunately, the experience fell short from the start. Service was lacking--no silverware was brought out before or with my meal, and I noticed the table ahead of me waiting quite a while just to receive menus. It appeared there was only one bartender and one server covering the front of the house. They seemed overwhelmed, which was surprising because the dining room wasn't even full. The chips and salsa do cost extra, but they're refillable, and they ended up being the best part of the meal. I ordered a combination plate so I could try a variety of items. The beans were good, but the rice was bland and needed more seasoning. The crispy taco was disappointing--the shell was crispy around the edges but soggy and chewy in the middle. The chicken tasted like plain boiled chicken with virtually no seasoning. Even a little garlic, onion, or basic spices would have made a big difference. The enchilada was just average and didn't really stand out. The chile relleno was the item I was most excited to try, but it ended up being the biggest disappointment. As soon as I cut into it, a thin, orange, watery cheese ran onto my plate, which immediately caught me off guard. I asked the server what kind of cheese was used, and he told me it was Velveeta mixed with other cheeses. Regardless of the blend, the consistency was very watery and unappetizing. The green chile sauce on top was just okay, but overall the dish lacked the flavor and quality I was expecting. It simply didn't hit the mark for me. My meal came with sopapillas, which were actually very good and easily the second-best part of the meal. Overall, there just wasn't anything that would bring me back. I ended up leaving almost my entire plate and didn't even bother taking a box home. It's a casual neighborhood spot that's new to the area, and I hope they find their footing, but based on this visit, the food and service both have a lot of room for improvement.

Calle Chili is a great addition to Mesa! If you love New Mexico-style green chile, this is the place to go. We started with the Mushroom Fundido appetizer, served with warm corn tortillas--it was rich, flavorful, and delicious. We also enjoyed happy hour margaritas. For our meal, we had the small combination plate with Christmas-style red and green enchilada sauce and the New Mexico Hatch green chile pizza. Everything was packed with flavor, and the green chile really shines. The only downside was the service. The restaurant was very warm inside, and service was quite slow throughout our visit. We had to ask multiple times for a happy hour menu, dirty dishes sat on our table for a while, and it took a long time to receive our check due to issues applying the happy hour pricing. The food was excellent, so we're hoping the service improves because we'd love to come back.

Decided to try a new spot for tacos and it did not disappoint! I'm a red chili girly and this hit the spot of the enchiladas. The tacos were crispy and flavorful. Rice and beans were good. The service was fantastic! Our waitress was friendly and accommodating to with my little one. I'd love to come back and try other times on the menu!

I had put this place on my list and it was my son that reminded me about it so we stopped by on a whim. I was born and raised in New Mexico so I'm always a little skeptical when places say it's authentic New Mexican food. There is a popular place that says it's authentic New Mexican food that couldn't be further from authentic Mexican food, so I was a little afraid of this place. I'm happy to say that this place gets a thumbs up from me. Even though there are items on the menu that really are not New Mexican (i.e. shrimp--the closest thing we have to an ocean in New Mexico is the Rio grande River and that's dried up half the year), I was in heaven when I tasted the red sauce. This is the red chile of my childhood! They really made an effort to make the decor a little nicer than the standard Cafe. There are lots of chandeliers and a fixture in the corner that looks a lot like a Chihuly. There are any Mexican touches like ristras hung throughout. There is a bar, although it was way too early for cocktail for us. As soon as we received it she brought us chips and both red and green salsa--and the salsa was awesome! My son and I both ordered the small combination plate which is not really small. It comes with a cheese enchilada, a taco, the Chile relleno, and rice and beans. We both ordered it Christmas style which means you get both red and green sauce. The beans were so delicious - - they tasted like real pinto beans that were mashed rather than refried beans. Very fresh! As I mentioned earlier the red sauce was so good, and the green size was as well. I even like the rice - and if you know me, you know I'm picky about rice. Our server was a total doll. She was very friendly and when I began asking about the sauce, she offered to give us samples, a cup of red sauce and a cup of green sauce. All in all I will say that I was very happy when we left. Is it exactly like I know from growing up? No, and that's because every family makes their food differently. But this was pretty darn close and I like it!

I have a couple clients who told me about Calle Chili and how it's Sliver City New Mexico style food!! We have family out there so having some authentic Silver City food was just what Mesa needed!! As you walk you notice the nice pictures ( horse theme!) love it! They didn't have a greeter when you walked in so you kinda have to listen for someone behind the bar area to tell you where to sit, at least that was what happened today. And that was totally ok, clean and nice calm vibe in there with some TVs going. We were served their salsa the first time she brought did Out she had the red and the greens some mixed in one bowl like half-and-half, which honestly tasted really good. When you mixed them together, you could tell it was authentic salsa. Both were delicious. The second time she brought them they were an individual bowls. I really enjoyed both and so did my husband! They had a good spicy kick to them could tell it was made fresh, which is amazing because you don't get that very often anymore! We ordered the small sample plate with ground beef taco, and the red sauce. The beans and rice were delicious cooked perfectly. You could tell everything was made super fresh and the chili relleno was great. The cheese enchilada was amazing and the taco was pretty good too. Honestly, I highly recommend this place. We will be back. I think it's very authentic. I think everything is fresh and we really truly enjoyed it.

As huge fans of authentic New Mexican cuisine, we were excited to try this local spot. Unfortunately, our experience didn't live up to the hype or the prices. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon to a packed parking lot and had to park in the gravel out front. After a 10-minute wait to be seated, we noticed the staff was friendly, the decor was nice, and the restroom was clean. However, the service and food quickly went downhill. A nearby table of five that arrived after us received their food and complimentary chips and salsa well before we did. In fact, we had to ask for our chips, which didn't arrive until our entrees served. As for the food: the taco salads and Christmas-style chicken enchiladas were just average. The chicken in the combo plate tasted exactly like a Costco rotisserie chicken. While the ground beef was decently seasoned, the real dealbreaker was the refried beans served with all our entrees. Not only was the cheese on top completely unmelted and cold, but the beans themselves were actually undercooked and crunchy. While writing this we just realized we also didn't receive our sopapillas!! Our chickens would have loved those, along with the crunchy beans and chips.

I literally found this place by mistake. So glad I did. I went to the Shroom Room room to get my favorite tea had to go to this restaurant to go to the bathroom and I seen a taco board that looked to be interesting. I have never I seen o e like this before and holy guacamole. It was so delicious. Zia taco try it.... This place is super clean and you would not expect it to be elevated side from outside staff. Very nice. I wasn't even hungry. I had to try this taco and so glad I did. Gonna have to bring the hubby back for a nice dinner

Pretty decent New Mexican food. Interior was a lot bigger than I expected. Doesn't look like much from the parking lot, but it's really nice inside, with a decent bar and seating. Happy hour drink specials, really good menu options. Green chicken enchiladas could use a little bit more of a bite. Not spicy at all. Perfect for those of you who don't like spicy foods You can also go next door and try the mushroom coffee bar which is pretty cool.

We love new Mexican food so we decided to give this restaurant a try. When you first walk in the restaurant opens up to a long rectangular room with tables on both sides and a bar in the back right corner. There were three reasons why I gave this restaurant three stars. First, the music was not appropriate for all ages. It featured some extreme foul language. Second, we were hopeful for some authentic New Mexican food that we truly missed. I felt the food lacked that true New Mexican flavor of green and red chili. The restaurant was not super busy, but there was only one person waiting on tables. We waited quite a while for our order to be taken and for our food food to be prepared. I had the New Mexican Combo which featured a chicken taco, chilie relleno and an enchilada. I had high hopes for the chilie relleno, but unfortunately, it was stuffed with cheese similar to Velveeta. The chips and salsa were decent, but the salsa was quite spicy. I don't mind spicy but it was definitely spicy.

Very good chicken tacos. The rice and bean portions are smaller the other places but also very good.

Went to get coffee from the Shroom Room next door. Met the owner and told us about their restaurant next door, Calle Chile. We were looking for a place to eat so we thought we would give it a try. Atmosphere was nice, and seemed family ran. Wait staff were moms and their kids. No one "belongs " to one table. They all help out. Need something, ask anyone. I ordered the taco chicken plate. The chicken was good and filled the taco. Although the shell was premade. The beans were delicious. My husband got the chicken fajitas and said they were really good. Next visit to the Shroom room we will plan on coming hungry to eat again.

10/10 - Finally found REAL New Mexican food If you're craving authentic New Mexican flavor, this place absolutely delivers. I ordered the chile rellenos and my husband got the green chile chicken enchiladas--both were out of this world. The flavors were rich, perfectly balanced, and had that true New Mexican kick you just can't fake. The chips and salsa were fresh, addictive, and honestly set the tone right from the start. It felt like a little throwback to the good old 505--in the best way possible. If you know, you know... and if you don't, this is the place to find out. We'll definitely be back.

Unfortunately, this visit was a huge disappointment. We arrived about an hour before closing and sat down as we normally do. While I was walking to the restroom, which is located past the kitchen area, I heard a server/bartender we've seen several times before ask the cook, in an obviously annoyed tone, if two people had just arrived. When he said yes, she responded, "Who the fuck!?" The cook then looked directly at me. At that point, I honestly felt extremely uncomfortable and wanted to leave. We decided to stay since my boyfriend had already ordered a beer, but the experience immediately felt different. We felt like our presence was an inconvenience simply because we came in an hour before closing. Unfortunately, the food didn't make up for it. We ordered the beef skewers and a burger. The skewers were okay, but they were not nearly as good as we remembered them being. The burger, however, arrived completely cold. What makes this especially disappointing is that we used to really enjoy coming here. We understand that being close to closing time can be frustrating for a restaurant, but customers should still feel welcomed, especially when they are coming in well before closing and have supported the restaurant in the past. We really hope this was just a bad night, because we genuinely used to love coming here. But after this experience, we unfortunately left feeling very disappointed.

We started with the appetizer sized serving and the chips were very good with a thick texture and good crunch. We saved some of the queso, intending to use it for dipping with the mixed grill fajitas we split. I will put that queso on anything, it's tasty! On the mixed grill fajitas platter, the carne asada was the item we enjoyed the least. The shrimp was definitely my favorite. Perfectly juicy and grilled, and had a great sauce over the top, it's labeled as spicy but I didn't find it to be too spicy, it just had a good flavor. The chicken was very juicy and then the steak was okay. I would definitely come back to try the short rib tacos, as other reviewers said were pretty tasty. Blanco reminded me of yummy Tex-Mex restaurants I've had in Texas, although its description is Sonoran Mexican food. Maybe it depends on the dish ordered. Either way, both are delicious food styles. And my rating reflected my overall enjoyment of the green chili queso, fresh chips & salsa, and juicy shrimp. I think the difference between 4-5 stars for me, comes down to having a nice ambiance, attentive service, and some items standing out. My cocktail was decent, however I wouldn't order that particular margarita again, I don't love mescal but I keep trying drinks that have it because I do like cocktails that have a note of the mescal flavor not the predominant taste. I did check with the bartenders before I ordered it and let them know, they said it's mild mescal taste, but I think it was pretty strong. We had missed happy hour by coming in 530pm, it ends at 5pm. I'd like to come back next time for HH. And thank goodness they are smart enough to provide free 2 hour parking in the Novus garage close by . That makes so much sense for customers. Some reviewers said the restaurant doesn't have any parking options besides valet. A steak place that doesn't know how to cook steak ... And get orders correct…read more With a party of 13, we decided to reserve the private room in the back. At first everything was running smoothly until the food came out. Most everyone got the steaks or some special. Here were the first problems: - Not everyone got steak knives after asking 3 times. - 2 ribeye steaks were overcooked (asked for medium rare and got well done). - 1 fillet steak was still alive when asked for well done. - All plates were made out of metal so it burnt your hand when touching (made an infant cry instantly). - Brussel sprouts were cooked whole, too big to take one bite and was incredibly greasy. - Someone got the wrong salad. - Someone got the wrong vegetables. So that's where the downfall began. I usually don't enjoy complaining but when a restaurant is advertised as being high-end, I expect more, and there was more ... just more issues. We asked for a refry on these steaks. It took them so long that everyone else finished eating already. When they came out, we got more problems: - 1 ribeye didn't have a bone for some reason (but everyone did). - 1 "fillet" steak was actually a ribeye cut covered in sauce to hide it. Here comes the unprofessionalism from the staff. When asked about the ribeye bone, she just said that "they" removed it for you. I'm asking, "Why?" An $85 ribeye should always have the bone. I never asked to take it off. The ignorance continues with the "fillet." I know what a fillet looks like and when asked about the cut, the waitress had the audacity to say, "They flattened the fillet for you..." I'm asking, "Why?" We all knew what a fillet looks like compared to a ribeye. It wasn't a fillet. What professionally trained chef would ever flatten a fillet? How ignorant do you have to be to even say this? The ridiculousness continued with the floor manager coming in, apologizing, gave our first round of drinks for free, 1 steak for free and gave us a business card to contact the general manager. Wait. What? It's a Saturday night, during MLB spring training and the GM isn't around? And you want us to contact them? You want us to do your work for you, to contact the GM? In the end, I'm only frustrated because the steak was $85 and it felt like I could have cooked this better at home. The steak looked like you bought it at Trader Joe's. This whole experience, was not the waitress' fault. She was dealt with a difficult situation because of the back-of-house, the designer of the restaurant and everything else around her. Who is expediting the food? Who is in charge on a Saturday night? Who is the chef? Does this person know the basics of cooking and plating? Who here cares about their food? Who designed the metal plates to be burning hot to guest? I think I found a new nominee for Kitchen Nightmares. If you want to try this place, get the steak well-done if you want medium-rare. That's what I've learned this weekend.

We went the same day, arrived to discover there was an accident that took out the stoplight and hit the owners car. Even with that going on, she welcomed us and we ordered a couple of burritos while taking not of all of the fresh pastries and other goodness. We ordered one beef and green chile and a Sausage breakfast burrito. They make their own sausage for these from a recipe that has been in the family for over 100 years, and I highly recommend it. Both were exceptional and they are huge and do not skimp on the meat. After those we could not pass up grabbing some of the Maple Peach bread pudding and an Apple Danish. The Apple Danish was outstanding, cannot speak to the bread pudding as that disappeared before I was able to try it. This place is awesome, great food, great staff, great atmosphere, and we will be adding this to our breakfast rotation for sure. I need to return to try the burgers, and I'm certain they will not disappoint. If you are in the area, this is the place you need to try for sure.
