My recent CalPro Inspection Group Home Inspection process was seamless. Jeff, the Inspector, was pleasant and informative. 10000 dollars in termite and dry rot repairs on the home we are selling, the guys were in and out and had everything buttoned up in one day to pass re-inspection. hated having 10 grand come out of our closing costs, but it was worth it having it done right, done in a timely manner and without messing the place up. Hired these guys for an inspection on a home I was buying and they did identify termites on the outside of an ADU on my property. I negotiated with the seller and closed on the home two days ago. Moments ago, a contractor who came out to actually do the repairs and treat the termites that CalPro found discovered a LOT more termites - this time in the crawlspace and subfloor of the main home. CalPro clearly was negligent and lazy in their work. I am highly dissatisfied. Recommend strongly against hiring them. Seriously - I paid them for a pest inspection and I got this? Look at the photo I posted of the BLACK MOLD the inspector missed. Look at the photo of the water heater leak the inspector missed. Look at the photo of the crack in the vaulted ceiling the inspector missed. We also had to replace all the plumbing in BOTH bathrooms (Leaks) the inspector missed! Cal Pro Inspection Group is a SCAM; Do NOT purchase a Home Warranty from Cal Pro or have them inspect your property. Their inspectors missed several major issues that we had to pay out of pocket for repairs! Prior to buying our home a home inspection was ordered. Greg Bos from CalPro Inspection Group come out to perform the Home Inspection, after the initial inspection in November 2018 we were offered an 18 month home warranty, we should have researched this company; sadly we did not and we purchased the 18 month home warranty. On moving day; November 21, 2018 we noticed a LARGE crack in the vaulted ceiling; we called CalPro immediately to come back out. Greg Bos (original inspector) showed up and said "wow, I can't believe I missed that, lets wait through the holidays to see if it gets bigger and at the 1st of the year we'll make it right" In February 2019 (2 months later) Greg came out to our home and proceeded to tell us the crack was "Superficial/ Comedic" and they could caulk it! We reminded Greg what he said in November, that he would take care of it... does caulking sound like it makes it right ? Greg stated he would have to run it past " the warranty " and see what they would say. March and April (2019) we called Greg's phone (per his instructions) several times, NO response!! We called their 800 number (1-800-474-3540) and got the run around "someone will return your call", we emailed calprogroup.com - NO response. We finally got a hold of a Manager ? ( Charles Skinner ) he said I'll look into it and get back to us. We are now in the middle of May (2019) NO ONE has ever returned our calls. We located the Owner, Glennen Quyn and requested he come to our home to discuss this ongoing issue. TODAY - May 30, 2019 The OWNER of CalPro Inspection Group (Glennen Quyn (916) 517-6780 came out to our home with Greg Bos to look at the crack in the ceiling. Without inspecting or going into the attic to see if the crack was structural, Glennen immediately rattles off "that th crack is cosmetic" and not covered under the warranty. We asked the OWNER "why did YOUR inspector state... I can't believe I missed that..we'll take care of it"? We requested our money back for the original home inspection; Glennen refused and said go a head and take me to court. read more
