Was craving a banh mi while at my daughter's basketball game in Sunnyvale. Looked on Yelp and all I could find is this place. So giving them 4 stars since they are the only place around, but their pricing seems quite high for some of their items especially their pate chaud. It's $3.50 for a tiny pate chaud. $3.50 is fine if larger, but I will show in the pic how small it is. It's next to my hand and my hands are small. Didn't have anything else to use as a point of reference at the moment. I ordered the 1B Banh mi which is a combo. Not bad as the bread is a bit crusty and soft so it doesn't tear the mouth. Their menu is no frills and straight to the point, it can be pretty hard to read the menu options in the back and get confused because I sometimes think the ham is pork roll until I see the pork roll option and remember what "ham" really is. But they do also have the short menus posted on the walls without pictures. Great spot to pick up banh mis. The prices are not bad for Sunnyvale (depends on what you get, but under $10 each) and usually I can make one banh mi last into two meals. If you want cheaper banh mis, you'll have to travel somewhere else to San Jose like Duc Huong, where you can find some for around $7 each if you buy 5. It's always delicious and I like to get the #6 with extra meat. Extra meat costs around $1.50-$2 depending on which sandwich you pick. We've been coming here for several years and almost always had a good experience. Only once did they skimp on the extra meat and when we inquired about it, they insisted they added double meat without even looking at the sandwich. But we could tell since we had just come the day before and the meat size was noticeably smaller. Besides that, really enjoy the food here and will be back. It's a traditional hard toasted bread which you bite into and it flakes around. Very messy. I recommend you not eat in your car. It has a different taste than the usual ones I've had before. It's ok. Viet places aren't as abundant in Sunnyvale as they are in other areas of south bay, so it's nice to see a deli in a city that I frequent. Adjacent to the counter are refrigerators full of desserts and drinks. I recommend the puddings and the soymilk, which are also made in-house. They have their typical selection of Viet food, such as banh mi, spring rolls, rice plates, and desserts. All of great quality and quantity. My only qualm is that I like my banh mi bread toasted and crunchy. For dessert and drinks, my favorites are anything pandan or corn. Their Viet coffee is also strong because they only add condensed milk and ice to their phin coffee. Cash and card are both accepted. We decided to stop by this small mom and pop place to grab some food to go. We were greeted by a friendly cashier upon entering this establishment. We ordered two banh mi. One was grilled chicken and the other one was grilled pork. We also ordered a rice plate with egg, shredded pork, and rib ( pork chop). The grilled meats were flavorful and tender. We appreciated them trimming off all the fat from the meats. The pork chop that came with the rice plate was tasty and tender. The pickeled vegis, fresh cilantro, and jalapeños that came with the order were all fresh. We waited for about 10 minutes for our order. I have had Cam Hung on my radar for awhile and I was in the area and couldn't find it. If you are coming from 101 and South Wolfe Road, it is hard to spot. It is facing Reed, so please take note. It is a grab and go shop with plenty of sandwiches and snacks. I spent $21 here including a meatball (xiu mai) sandwich, yogurt, 2 egg rolls, pate chaud and soy milk. As you can see in my photo, there was not a lot of xiu mai in the sandwich and it was $8. If you cannot find it on the menu, it's called pork hash. Egg rolls and pate chaud were just ok and were not crispy. I don't even know the prices since there were no prices listed. What really bothered me is how the lady working there was not so nice. I didn't know about this until I read the reviews after. It was already too late by then. It was my 1st time and I was not ready, so I was still looking at the menu. The lady at the counter acted peeved because I wasn't ready. I was standing far from the register and let others go in front of me. By the time I was ready to order, I spoke to her in English and Vietnamese and she kind of yelled at me to "get your receipt." I was like, ok, sorry.
