    Yellow Curry Delight (V, VG)
    Sriharsha A.

Ordered takeout from here after wanting some Thai food. The pad see ew with tofu had a spicy taste to it with some sweetness underneath. The noodles had the right texture and there was a lot of tofu in it. It was cooked well and the sauce worked well with the noodles. The yellow curry had a lot of vegetables and was on the liquidier side. I ate it more like a soup than a curry, but it still tasted good. The Thai iced tea was very sweet, just how it should be. The place seemed like a solid takeout spot.

We visited Thai Spoons on a Saturday evening, and there was no wait time. Inside is small, but the environment feels very cozy. The staff were also very warm. We ordered the green curry, chicken satay, pad see ew and a side of jasmine rice. All items were so flavorful and the portions were enough for my husband and I to have leftovers. Everything tasted so well seasoned, not too salty, and surprisingly not heavy feeling either. We'll happily be returning.

After 30 yrs in business, they have got their alcohol license! And their drinks look awesome! I was there for lunch and hence didn't order it. Hope to go back for dinner and try it out. I love their friendly staff - always making you feel at home. They have up scaled their decor as well. I like the spicy sauces near the order counter. My fav dishes are eggplant delight and garlic veggies. And their fried chicken is pretty good too.

Pad See Ew, Panang Nue curry, and Garlic Fried Rice

Thai Spoons is a cozy little hole-in-the-wall in Sunnyvale with delicious, flavorful Thai food. The service was quick. We tried the garlic fried rice, Panang Nue curry, and pad see ew. Everything was tasty, and the portions were more than enough for two. Their Thai iced coffee and Thai tea were also really good. Definitely a great little spot for Thai food!

Pad Thai packed to the brim

3.5 Pretty standard casual Thai restaurant. Their variety isn't as much as other Thai restaurants but they do have some stuff I don't normally see at others... For example the panang nue and the curry delights which are basically the curries with different and imo possibly better veggies. Prices are 10-35% more than some places depending on who you compare against. You can get a pad Thai at other spots for bout 13-18$ but here it's $20. They do pack the Togo box all the way full tho AND they did not skimp out on the protein...my curries both had tons of chicken and beef. Food: Pad Thai- Above average pad Thai. I really enjoyed the flavors. Noodles were solid and decently chewy... I've had stale noodles before which I hate. Garlic fried rice- good and very flavorful but also pretty salty or could be msg. Yellow curry- decent curry. Flavor was just ok I've had better. Tons of chicken though. Panang nue- based on the penang curry. It's similar but not as gritty, nutty, pasty/thick. It was def a bit more watery than I would have liked. There was also quite a bit of oil which I've never seen a penang curry do. I think it could have also used a lil more veggies but it was packed full of beef which is a pro if you're just looking for protein. Overall, decent Thai spot. I wouldn't mind ordering take out from them if I got a deal but I wouldn't make a detour or anything

    Pad Khing

I will start by saying this is obviously a very cute, family owned restaurant. There's pictures of the family on the menu and a sign it has been there for over 30 years. The server was very helpful in answering all my questions about the menu. But the menu has a strange layout, and it felt a bit overwhelming although not authentic; likely because it's being packaged for a non-Asian audience. We got the yellow chicken curry, pad khing with shrimp, and a Thai iced tea with two sides of rice. The curry was sweet and not that spicy. The pad Khing was heavy on the vegetables, which were crisp and plentiful, and came with about 6 shrimp. It wasn't particularly unique. The rice was just the right amount. It's fine for the atmosphere but not someplace I would go again for more authentic food.

Nice and convenient Thai place to order for to go. I tried ordering directly through them online since they had the lunch combo box, which was not on Door Dash or Uber Eats. However, I had trouble as the payment would not go through. I tried several cards and had other people tried, to conclude that it was not just me. In the end, I ended up calling them right when they open to place my order. It was quick and ready in about 15 minutes. I got the half half rice combo with basil chicken, chicken eggplant, and added a third item for an extra $1, to which I got the panang nue. Meanwhile my friends got an order of the tom yum soup and two pad thais, both which they liked. I liked the combo more since I got a variety of things for almost the same price, if not cheaper than their items. Overall, it was quick and easy. Parking was easy too. Came into the store to pick up and was in and out less than a few minutes.

Visited the restaurant on weekday late lunch at 2pm. We had the pad ped chicken, it's very flavorful but $21 for a small portion is kind of pricey. Red curry $19+$2 steak, we asked for highest spiciness level 4 but it was served as level 1. We even asked for extra chili . Tom Kha coconut soup $19 with mixed seafood +$6. The seafood was fresh and delicious. Overall the food was good but a bit pricey. I was extremely thirsty after the meal, must be the MSG, I am super sensitive to that.

We have been enjoying our favorite Thai delights since before the pandemic. It's always a treat to dine at Thai Poons. The food is amazing and the hospitality is incomparable. I recommend the shrimp appetizer, yellow curry, spicy rice and chow mein level 3 spicy for us but you choose your level. We had our first Thai beer and tea, nice with our dinner. Thank you . We will always come back. The place looks great after remodeling. $77 and we had leftover.

I've only ever gotten takeout from here so I can't comment on the in person service or inside the restaurant but the food is good! Large portions for average Bay Area prices. The curry delights have lots of delicious veggies, more than the average curry. Would recommend for takeout!

    Three entree Lunch Combo
    Lauren K.

I can't emphasize enough that this is one of my favorite Thai food spots in the Bay Area! Not only is the food SO delicious, the staff here is extremely friendly and accommodating. I never had my Togo boxes so well packaged and ready so quick! My all time favorite is their Lunch combos. You have the option for two entrees or three entrees. For an extra dollar, I recommend the three entrees so you can try more food (every thing is 10/10 personally). It's similar to Panda Express where you ask them what you want and they put it on a plate for you. I think it's efficient and you can eat right away (great for work lunches and time crunches) My all time favorite dishes are the eggplant delight, the pad ped fried chicken, basil chicken, egg omelette, and the beef red curry! FYI if they ever run low on an item they make it fresh for you. Super hearty, comforting, and delicious. The chicken is well fried and seasoned to perfection. I can't stop raving about this place plus their new remodel is so cute!

Picked up dinner from Thai Spoon and was reminded why I love small, family-run Thai places -- warm smiles, super quick takeout, and food that tastes like someone actually cares. What we ordered: Spicy Fried Rice (Chicken, Hot): Bold, fragrant, great heat. Red Curry (Chicken, Medium): Creamy, cozy, classic comfort. Green Curry (Chicken, Medium): The standout -- bright, aromatic, and incredibly flavorful. Pad Thai (Chicken, Medium): Balanced, fresh, not overly sweet. Everything was delicious, but the Green Curry Chicken was next-level good -- the kind of dish you immediately want again the next day. Friendly service, generous portions, and consistently tasty food ( we went back again the same week). This place deserves way more love. Will definitely be back!

I went there Friday around 7:30, not that many people, food get delivered in 20 minutes. It's a pretty small and cozy place. I like the food a lot, definitely will go back.

However, a staff member named Viri intervened and insisted we be seated at a different table. When I requested a different location, I was told it was unavailable due to other reservations. As someone who works in the restaurant industry, I am familiar with how reservation systems function; I noted that the restaurant remained largely empty during our visit. At one point, we were even asked to vacate a table we had sat down at before eventually being placed near the hostess station. I am bringing this to your attention because I felt our treatment was inconsistent with standard hospitality. The restaurant was very pretty, with a sleek and floral theme. Also, I noticed some herby smell which was pleasant so extra hats off to that detail. I placed a reservation of 5 at 7:45 pm on a Friday night with me and my family, and we had no issues getting to our table. We were a bit late, however staff made sure that we get seated in no time. Once we got sat down, we got our menus and took some time to decide what to order. Our amazing friend and waitress Elizabeth made sure to give us time to thoroughly look through the menu and decide on what we were going to eat. She was very friendly and caring, and was so excited to take our order, which elevated her experience. Her suggestions were perfect for our family. We ordered the Mixto Clásico ceviche, 2 orders of truffle mac and cheese, Arroz Con Mariscos, Pollo A La Brasa (Half chicken), Beef Anticuchero Roll, and Lengua a La Parilla. In five minutes, the staff already brought the ceviche, which included calamari, fish, veggies, and the taro chips. It was refreshing and citrusy. After we finished that , then another 3 minutes goes by, and everything arrived. I was so shocked on how fast they serve especially because of how busy they were. All the dishes were so fresh and cooked to perfection. The mac was so creamy, cheesy, and delectable especially because of the truffles. The pollo a la brasa was cooked nice and tender, served with fries, and that yellow sauce was addicting, literally ON CRACK. The lengua was great, the mashed potatoes along with the lengua, shrimp, and spicy sauce gave it texture and flavor. The nikkei beef antichchuero roll I was surprised with. Sushi in a Peruvian restaurant? However, I did not expect to be one of the best and interesting rolls I have tried ever. The arroz con mariscos was my favorite by far. It really reminds me of a Spanish paella, with a seafood galore presented with a bed of rice and veggies. It was very filling and delicious. Of course, we couldn't just end there, we obviously had to go for dessert. We chose the Tres Leches cake, and it was presented with chocolate, caramel, and strawberry sauce which was sweet and smooth. Paired with the cake, it was so good and a genius combination. In the end, when leaving, our staff asked us if we needed any extra help with anything before we left, which was a very kind gesture. When we left, the staff kindly greeted us a warm goodbye, and thanked Elizabeth especially for helping us order these great assortments of dishes. In the end, we left with our stomachs full of food and great memories. I am already looking forward to my next visit here, and please, give this Peruvian spot a try, because you will never go back to any other ones besides this spot.

The modern decor is nice and sleek. Whereas the vibe is bustling and welcoming. We ordered the combo of 2 pounds of shrimp with heads on, garlic noodles, and 2 steamed rice. The seafood boil came out in a large silver bowl instead of the usual large clear bag. I found this to be much better in presentation. Everything was so delicious. The captain Loui sauce was so flavorful and sweet. The shrimp were plump and juicy. Garlic noodles were tasty. A couple of saucy yummy corn and potato were found in the bowl which was a good surprise. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Cap't Loui. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Well, honestly, probably the worst oyster-eating-experience I've ever had. The oysters didn't taste great (honestly I was questioning if I liked oysters as much as I thought I did because they just tasted...fine. Not as amazing as oysters usually do). Also, they only serve spicy sauces to go with your oysters. ONLY spicy options (horseradish, a jalapeño mignonette, and a chipotle something or other, and horseradish or cocktail sauce). Oysters have an incredible but delicate flavor, while I can understand people wanting to spice it up sometimes, spicy sauces will totally overpower the oyster flavor. Worst of all, when I asked if i could get a side of *any vinegar* to be able to make just like a basic mignonette-ish option, their response was that they have *no vinegar* anywhere in the restaurant. I don't know how you brand yourself fully on a type of food (oysters), and then serve them ONLY in a way where you can't actually taste them! Also had a grilled artichoke app, which was fine, but again served only with a spicy sauce. Our server was great, I didn't catch her name though!

I'd been hearing Korean friends recommend Master Oh's for a while, so after they recently reopened…read morewith an updated menu, I finally decided to check it out. Honestly, it was a pleasant surprise. What makes this place stand out from most Korean restaurants is that you can enjoy so many classic Korean dishes in one meal--soy sauce marinated crab, fresh handmade cold noodles, stews, seafood hot pot, grilled intestines, stone pot bibimbap, and more--without having to visit multiple restaurants. Here are a few signature dishes we tried based on our server's recommendations: Bibim Naengmyeon (Handmade Spicy Cold Noodles) These noodles took a little longer to come out, and our server explained why--they don't start making the noodles until you place your order. The dough is pressed fresh in the kitchen before being served, giving the noodles a wonderfully chewy texture. Served with crushed ice, beef, cucumber, egg, and Korean pear, it was incredibly refreshing on a hot day. It's actually pretty rare to find restaurants in the Bay Area still making cold noodles fresh to order. Soy Sauce Marinated Crab I'd always heard that Korean soy sauce marinated crab is one of the country's most beloved seafood dishes and had seen it countless times in K-dramas, so I was excited to finally try it. The crab was well-marinated, with sweet, tender meat that was full of flavor, and even included quail eggs. If you love seafood, this is definitely worth ordering. Stone Bowl Bibimbap The stone bowl arrived still sizzling at the table. Mixed with beef, spinach, carrots, bean sprouts, fernbrake, and a sunny-side-up egg, every bite was delicious. My favorite part was the crispy golden rice that slowly formed at the bottom of the bowl. Gal Nak (Spicy Braised Beef Short Ribs with Octopus) (Mild Spice) This was perfect for sharing. The pot was filled with tender braised beef short ribs, octopus, tofu, rice cakes, enoki mushrooms, and vegetables. As everything simmered together, the rich broth soaked into every ingredient, making each bite even more flavorful. Every table receives a generous selection of Korean side dishes, including kimchi, japchae, fish cake, cucumber, pickled radish, seaweed, and more. Our server even came by to ask if we wanted free refills before we had to ask, which made the whole dining experience feel very welcoming. Besides the food, I also loved the atmosphere.
