Amazing Lebanese food in the tiny town of Cambria (not even a Chinese restaurant in town!). The Kifteh skewers are outstanding as are the chicken kebabs. the dinner portion is really enough for two normal people or one body builder. They don't bake their own bread yet but hummus, grape leaves, everything else are momma made. I am so delighted they are now established. Came here based on the Yelp reviews. For starters the water they offered required a cost.. which is absolutely ridiculous. We ordered the cheese bouraks and the babba ghanuj for apps. For starters the cheese bouraks was cold in the middle which tells me they were frozen. The babba guanuj came out without anything to dip in it. I asked if it came with pita or if we were supposed to eat it with a spoon he said we could eat it with a spoon or place an order for pita. So I guess we will order pita since we had nothing else to dip it with. Food came we ordered beef shawarma it wasn't even shredded like wtf. So when it was all said and done this meal was $100 for 2 beef shawarma plates and 2 apps. NO DRINKS. Oh wait the water we had to pay for. This place is an absolute rip off. Yet, it's a real town, where real people live, work and play. When it comes to eating, I am totally "real," especially when it comes to breakfast, with a Mexican flair. Are you interested in a Mexican-influenced breakfast in Cambria? Think Cambria Cafe, located on Main Street, in Cambria. Cambria Cafe is located in the heart of downtown Cambria, all three blocks of it. Cambria is a destination for tourists on California's beautiful central coast, but Cambria is a "real" town, not just a tourist mecca, where "real" people actually live their daily lives. That being said, there are many small business that line the main street, looking forward to your tourist dollars. The breakfast menu features "comfort food" from both sides of the border, and everything that a breakfast lover could ever desire. My tastes run "south of the border," so I'm definitely at home at Cambria Cafe. From the "American - Mexican" section of the "Breakfast" menu, I ordered "Chorizo con Huevos," as I rarely, if ever miss a breakfast with a Mexican slant to it. The menu describes the breakfast as, "Eggs scrambled with Mexican sausage, served with beans, rice and tortillas." It's a simple description for an elegant meal... When you order chorizo and eggs, most of the time at most restaurants, the chorizo and eggs are scrambled together, and that's how the menu lists the entree, but I prefer my eggs cooked over easy, and like my chorizo and eggs separate. I placed my order, for the eggs and chorizo to be cooked separate and Cambria Cafe was happy to fulfil my request, and cook my chorizo and eggs the way I requested. That is a HUGE PLUS for Cambria Cafe, as they're willing to alter their menu as per the request of a customer! That's great customer service! The chorizo was simply delicious, flavorful, and reminded me of chorizo that I've enjoyed during my many trips south of the border. My two eggs were cooked over easy, as ordered, which is a benchmark of a good breakfast chef who knows how to cook eggs to order. The refried beans were smooth, creamy and delicious, and sprinkled with cotija cheese for added flavor, and for an enhanced presentation. The rice was good, solid, but not particularly memorable... what more can you say about Mexican rice for breakfast? My breakfast was rounded out with a stack of corn tortillas - you can choose flour if that's the way you roll - along with a cup of salsa, and a tiny salad for garnish, and to enhance the presentation. My breakfast was simply delicious... From the "Country Style" section of the breakfast menu, my wife ordered "Grilled Pork Chop and Eggs." The breakfast is served with country gravy, potatoes, eggs and your choice of toast. She ordered country potatoes - hash browns are an option - scrambled eggs, along with a buttered English muffin. The star of the meal, the pork chop, arrived perfectly grilled, as it was golden brown on the outside, and tender, moist and white on the inside, just the way a pork chop should be. The pork chop was covered with a generous helping of rich, thick and creamy country gravy, which included lots of ground sausage for a true, "country" taste. Not only was the gravy great on the pork chop, it made for great dipping for the diced country potatoes. The diced country potatoes were diced, seasoned, and perfectly fried to a rich, golden brown on the outside, and on the inside, were tender and juicy. Such a great companion to the pork chop! Let's see... dip a chunk of potato into the gravy... then a piece of pork chop... another... you get the idea. To round out the meal, my wife enjoyed two scrambled eggs, and a toasted, buttered English muffin. Such a great breakfast at Cambria Cafe! If you are a fan of good Mediterranean food and are in East Cambria, definitely stop here for some delicious Falafel or Shawarma...oh, heaven!! Its just a hole in the wall with no ambiance but the delicious food more than makes up for it. The only thing thats lacking is homemade pita bread. Dont even bother with what they serve. (Store bought) They are close to getting their liquor license so watch for this new restaurant to succeed big time. read more

Absolutely fantastic food! Just like the most authentic, delicious Mexican flavors. They are also really accommodating. I ordered the Mushroom, spinach and avocado omelet and asked for it to be made with egg whites. They did it with a smile and a nod and it was perfect. My husband had the Huevos Rancheros and that also was amazing The tortillas taste homemade. But I was blown away by their decaf coffee. It was outstanding . Great service in a family-run restaurant with crispy, perfectly spiced falafel, yummy chicken and lamb with fresh veggies and perfect rice. The food was mediocre at best. Extremely unhappy and rude staff. The meats were overcooked and tough. The meal as described, included vegetables, however it only included quarter of onion and quarter of tomato. When I asked for some bread, I received 3 peace's of dry, stale pita bread. The only regular water they offer was in the bottle for 3 dollars. Overall very disappointing, overpriced restaurant experience. Please don't waste your money! read more

The decor is nothing fancy (kind of mishmashed), but don't let that turn you off. We had breakfast there yesterday morning and it was SO good. Some of the best fresh squeezed OJ I've ever had. My huevos rancheros and my wife's breakfast burrito were exactly what we'd hoped for. This family knows how to handle, prepare, and serve great food. We are here three days and I wouldn't think of having breakfast elsewhere. Too bad dinner is not being served currently because most of these restaurants are overpriced and the food served is spotty at best. For dinner I find myself looking to Morro Bay. We've been visiting Cambria for a long time and have had great meals in the past but some of the old standbys are not dependable now. Delicious Mediterranean food. We dined around 8pm and everything was served fresh. Hummus, tabouli, salad, baba ganoush, falafels, chicken and beef shawarma. This is more Lebanese flavors than Greek so don't expect feta with salad. We like both so truly enjoyed the food. The service was excellent and attentive by Moses. A tip is that we ordered water as usual and were automatically given bottled water so I guess no tap water is served here. We will return when visiting this area. read more

Okay so this is gonna be one of those reviews that don't make sense until you read to the end. Sorry. We were driving on the 1N, when all of a sudden a group of elk step onto the road. I brake as hard as I can but we still got the elk. Our car gets towed, the elk gets up and walks it off, and we end up being stranded in Cambria. The next day we're roaming around the town looking for somewhere to eat, when we stumble on this little cafe - Cambria Cafe. Little did we know what was in store for us. Straight off the bat, the first thing that caught me was their homey little no-frills menu. Then when we sat down to order, their music playlist was SOLID. Mad decent stuff from the 60s and 70s. We ordered a Chile relleno plate and a breakfast combination platter, and a Chile Verde omelette. GUYS. I had no idea little restaurant out in the middle of nowhere in the highway 1N could churn out food this good. Their Chile relleno plate made me sit up straight in my seat. Incredibly balanced flavours, the texture of the chile and the cheese was perfectly balanced, and the rice was SO GOOD I don't even usually like rice. The breakfast combination platter with French toast, bacon and eggs was so good, my sister forgot to share it with me. She said she'd never had french toast sliced thin like that, and so full of flavour. And their Chile Verde omelette was so perfectly meaty, juicy and moist. I can keep going on. But I won't. All I'll say is, don't pass up an opportunity to go here. Really, don't. On our way back down the highway 1, we actually were gonna change our plans just so that we could go to Cambria cafe again.
