I found Triage Automotive using Yelp Projects late at night. Triage was first to reply very early…read morein the morning, which was surprising to me because I had not expected such an early or quick response. Since I knew, in general, what the issue was going to be, I explained the issue, and we made arrangements for me to being my pickup truck in for a free diagnostic. Mind you, the sun hadn't already come up yet, and Triage was open and running already. The auto shop is tucked away off Bitters Rd between several other speciality garages. The waiting area was a clean and friendly with a wide window looking into the garage where you can see the mechanics at work. There were amenities such as bags of snacks, coffee, a water cooler, and a television. They had immediate availability and were quick to confidently diagnose the exact issue showing me the problem. A quote for the part I needed, as well as the removal and replacement of said part, was written up, and the owner offered to drive me to home or work while the repair was performed. I took him up on it, and he's a great guy. Keep in mind, all of this happened before other auto shops even opened for the day! Jacob, the manager and mechanic who worked on my vehicle serviced it promptly, letting me know status periodically. Since it was a reasonably simple repair, Jacob picked me up early that afternoon to take me back to the shop and finalize the service. My pickup was repaired, and I was back on the road before any other auto shops had even answered my Yelp Projects inquiry. The shop I had previously used for service had scheduled me three days out. As someone who does mechanic work myself and relies on my vehicle, I can confidently say Triage's expertise and urgency in getting me back on the road kept my business running with minimum downtime. I had purchased a replacement battery, but needed install assistance since the battery sits behind my driver side wheel. The owner, Kareem, responded *immediately* with shop location, hours, and the number to reach the shop manager, Jacob, to discuss specifics. Very friendly and engaging interaction with the owner. I gave Jacob a call, and he gave me a very reasonable quote and best time to come in for service. He even gave me knowledgeable recommendations for the best battery to buy for my vehicle, and he was *on-point* because it was the same brand I bought after researching with glowing reviews (Interstate). When I arrived, Jacob not only greeted me kindly but offered water and the TV remote while I waited for my battery to be switched out. I saw a sparkling clean restroom for customers, as well. I was in and out in 30 minutes or less. From the owner to the manager to the pricing to the excellent service (I believe Connor worked on my vehicle) - they have truly earned my business!

When my dad got there it turned out a plug just needed to be removed/drained which was causing the sensor on his truck to act up... Marvin was honest and just charged him the labor fee... Saving him thousands! I had water damage to my car and was scared I was going to pay thousands for repairs on my car too but my dad told me to drop my car off at West Ave Auto. They were honest right away. Didn't try to play off the fact my car could have needed huge repairs. Instead reassured me the damage was minor and they were even able to bend back a part instead of telling me to replace the whole thing. In addition, I knew I needed other work done so gladly gave my business to them. My car was also done the same day! Saving me the hassle of having to worry about paying for a rental and unnecessary stress. On top of it, Marvin remembered my dad, his name and truck. Which is very cool considering how many people I'm sure he probably sees on a day-to-day basis. Honesty and integrity go a long way! This company now has loyal customers and I will be recommending their shop to everyone I know. They also offer military discounts in addition to their affordable prices and great customer experience!

He is unprofessional and perpetuates the negative stereotype of crooked mechanics preying on young women.

Mine has an oil leak at least 4 different places haven't been able to figure out. Chad's garage gave me some hope, but they were never able to fix it. I take pretty much all "guarantees" with a grain of salt. "Bring it back"...pffft why would I? You couldn't fix it the First time? More likely, I'll just be dumping more money in sonl you can "half fix it" a 2nd time. One mechanic even told my wife to "hit the dash when her A/C wasn't kicking on...AFTER they fixed it. GTFO... Really!? Cost wasn't exactly on the cheap side...maybe fair, but ONLY if they fix the problem. My impression is they had way more cars than they could handle and were trying to rush them outa there. Fair enough, but I will not be taking either of ours back. Fair warning to those that do.

Left my car with them on a Friday, and In a couple hours he called me back saying they drove the car and couldn't experience the same issue I was having but because it was raining they didn't want to risk an accident. They left with me the option of you can pick it up and bring it back on Monday or leave it there until Monday for another round of testing. So I went with option 2. Again, tony called back and he was honest about them not being able to experience the same issue but suggested I take it a Nissan dealership. Happy to report that after taking it to Goodyear first and then Bert's, I took Tony's advice on the dealership and I'm now waiting to pick my car up at Nissan as I write this review because they were able to find and fix the issue. Thanks tony for your honesty I would definitely recommend this place especially too if you're a female and you always worry that you might get screwed over by mechanic shops. He said his boss, Chris, would call me back with a quote. After a few hours with no call, I decided to call back and check in, only to find out they had already replaced my alternator and battery without my authorization. I now owed them $800 when all I asked for was a diagnosis. On top of that, it didn't even fox the problem and I'm still driving around with the same issue and $800 in the hole. Unprofessional and poor communication. Avoid.

I made an appointment, which was very easy and quick, and Carlos took it in. He recommended reprogramming it, not replacing, got the problem corrected for about $800. Everything is now running smoothly. In addition he pointed out an issue with my battery connection, and I was able to take my car back to the quick oil change place I use and get them to fix it for free. Communication was very good with ASE throughout, they were very friendly and helpful, and I am very happy with the experience. Would definitely use them again!

Sanford Automotive may be the best general automotive repair facility in San Antonio. Steve, the manager strives to please his customers in every way possible when it comes to repairing their vehicles. Steve is honest as the day is long and refuses to cut any corners, so that when you drive your vehicle out of his parking lot, you can be sure the job was done correctly and at a reasonable price. Furthermore, their repair costs are competitive with most other automotive repair shops. You will never pay for work that was not done. He will never try to sell you a fictitious repair your vehicle does not need to fatten his bottom line at a customer's expense. Their repairs are guaranteed and on a par with other automotive repair shops' warranties. Sanford Automotive is my preferred "Go To" automotive repair shop from now on. read more

I was so impressed by the honesty and excellent customer service at Sanford auto shop. My car air conditioner was busted for about a year before I took the plunge to have it looked at for a 2nd opinion ( I was a little traumatized as my first opinion was over $700 fix ).. I saw the Groupon they had offered and thought why not give it a try? As it turns out my huge expensive issue really wasn't.. the owner of the shop Steve gave me a reasonable price for a reasonable fix and after working with such dishonesty and being ripped off by other shops, I know I will be a customer of this shop for as long as I am in San Antonio! Cannot recommend Sanford auto shop highly enough! Thanks to Steve and his team I will not have to endure another Texas summer with no ac! *knock on wood* read more

I highly recommend Sanford Auto Service! They have done a few repairs for me including replacing my A/C system. I feel they are priced very fairly and the work is done quickly. Most recently they helped me with my coolant system. I had gone to a chain automotive shop for an oil change, while doing my oil change they told me I had a several leaks in my coolant system. They quoted me over $600 to replace several parts. I decided to take my car to Sanford Auto Service to get a second opinion. After looking over my car they discovered it was simply the radiator cap that needed to be replaced. Left there paying under $100 and happy that I decided to take my car to Sanford Auto Service. This shop was a great find! We went on a Saturday morning and the service was so quick! My camry had battery problems and they figured out the problem very quickly and the price was very reasonable. He even gave me a little extra for free because he forgot to charge me for it at first. And he let me use a coupon I found on their website as well. The parts they needed for my battery terminal/connectors came within 20 minutes and his service was very fast. This shop is definitely worth a trip if you're having problems with your car or you just need a regular service. I will definitely take my car back to get more work done here. read more

I've taken my autos to Sanford's on two separate occasions. Both times were very good experiences. Prices and service are very reasonable. The mechanics there are very knowledgeable and know what they are doing. Steve is the man and will take care of you. Last visit, I needed my A/C repaired fast. I was in and out very quickly and wasn't charged and arm and a leg like some other joints I've been to in the past. I can highly recommend this shop. read more

Brought my daughter's 2008 Kia in for the replacement of the timing belt, water pump, belt tensioners, AC belt, power steering belt, alternator belt, coolant change, transmission filter and fluid change. They got it all done in a day for WAY less than the guys down the street wanted. Would definitely go there again; great service at a great price. read more

This is for an 2020 Isuzu NPR, they put a $200 Ford NOX sensor on our vehicle. I can't wait to see what kind of sensor they replaced our pressure diff with! Our truck came in with a check engine light and left with the light still on, we took it back to this shop twice. I do hope someone reaches out to make things right.
