First off, I have been to multiple Toyota dealerships over the years, I understand this is not a 15 min Jiffy Lube type place. I have been to Camelback a few times, pretty long waits, but decent enough service. This morning my wife went in for an oil change, I usually do this stuff but I was working. Not only was she there for SIX AND A HALF HOURS, but they recommended $6,222 in "repairs". Mind you, I have taken this car in multiple times and never had anything close to this. They scared her about her tires, which are fine by the way, but it is indicative of the character of this place. Its not the money, its not really the crappy sales tactics, its the time. I chose Camelback Toyota, and I am so glad I made this choice. It was my first time ever purchasing a vehicle and JJ (Jason Johnson) made it the easiest process it could be. I did an internet inquiry, and he contacted me within minutes. Not only was he very fast at answering any questions that I had, but he was very helpful in directing me to take the steps I needed to take to make my first car purchase happen. Seriously, it was about 2 hours later from when I contacted him to when I had signed the papers for the car. Not only did JJ take care of me, but he went above and beyond to make sure everything was what I wanted in my new and first car that I purchased. The service department is out of control. The guy wanted to charge $600 for a package. The only thing that sounded like it was worth anything was some type of "fuel system treatment". Then when I told him no, he said that I needed the "yellow" package but last time we went we got the "yellow" package but his system wasn't showing that...so either he's lying or the person prior charged us for a "yellow" package and didn't provide the service. But it's not the first time they lie. 2 visits prior the guy said we needed our breaks done and I told him no...the previous visit was a different guy and looked at our breaks and said, "ooooh I see you got your breaks done. Good job!" So, did we ever need our breaks done? Cause 1 month we needed them and 3 months later they were like new (without ever replacing them). Wow! I will never go back. I bought a 4runner through the Costco program, and the money I saved was earned on my part for the aggravation. They were supposed to give me a price for the predetermined trim, and of course when we sat to complete transaction, at least 8K of add ons. We widdled it down, only to have the finance department attempt to add about 2400 for extended warranty. I always find it amazing that they can chop that price in half when you decline it. The finance guy used some pat sarcastic line "Don't you see the value you in it '? When I said yes , but not interested , he said "Tell me why you don't recognize the value" . Infuriating, and insulting. He had a trainee, so it appeared that he was training him to be the cliche stereotype which drives people to purchase cars online instead of in person. We completed the transaction, and car was delivered with only owners manuals. No paperwork on extended warranty or loan. I contacted Chris in finance "No problem, I will email you the info" Nothing. Contacted Adam, "I will mail it to you" nothing. Contacted him again, without response. Got on the website & the vulchers wanted to help me via chat. Sales Manager Shea stated a "sales manager will contact you". Nothing. Drove there today, and the lady at the counter pointed to a hallway with glass offices, and told me to got to finance & they would help me. I had to go back to her and ask if I was to randomly knock on a glass offices of people in meetings. She then calls finance and says "I have a guest here that has some questions about a car she bought". Wow....what a braniac. I was interrupting her conversation with a sloth employee hanging over her counter for a second time. I had made it clear that I needed copies of my contract & extended warranty info. Leon from finance printed off my documents. Thanks. I had to ask him to get me something that told me what was covered on the warranty. He was kind enough to get me a brochure for the vendor. How hard would it have been to just send me a pdf of my contract & a link, say, just maybe 3 months ago, when I bought the car. Let's talk about accessories I intended to purchase. Costco gave me a referral for 50% 1 accessory & 15 % off additional. I called service within a few days of buying the 4runner. They stated they had to have me talk to a specific individual to get information. I told them the things I wanted, roof rack, rock slides, showed available on line, could I schedule installation, and bring in my coupons? Nope the special person had to call me back. Never got a return call. Boy, when you sign the dotted line, they are done with you. This was a 50K investment. I would have expected much better service. read more

Let me tell you. Toyota camelback does NOT care about your safety. They do NOT care if you have a warranty. I had problems with my seatbelts a few month back. Had to basically force them to replace the seatbelts since they did not work. They lied and said it want not covered. I pulled it up abs showed them the warranty. Actual proof of it and they still tried to screw me abs say it's not cover. I also have extended warranty through them. Finally another manager replaces them. Fast forward same problem this time they won't do anything since Toyota corporate will not pay them since they can't find anything wrong. I have video proof. Every visit is always a pleasure I truly enjoy coming here and even though it takes hours to get an oil change I really don't mind it. I enjoy being alone and the massage chairs in the dark rooms are phenomenal. My only reason to not give it a 5 star is because at todays routine oil change, I was waiting in the lobby and noticed a desk there with a sales man attached to it. Didn't really cared for it at first really didn't feel like I would notice it enough but really got to me is this sales man behavior. 1. Language. Oh my goodness. Keep in mind we are in the lobby there is no privacy we could hear everything that is being said In his transaction. He cusses sooo much! 2. the way he talks to his coworkers is not ok. I get it, don't get me wrong I am also in sales and sometimes my teammates drive me nuts but I never lose my cool in front of my customers/potential customers. Also there was a moment when he went I get some papers from this coworker he was talking so poorly too that, that as soon as he left the area his customer was looking around and his coworker that was sitting in a separate area that she said to him that "he and her bump heads so much" the fact that someone else had to comfort this man and let him know this is an everytime thing that's how you know this a problem. 3. I get systems are slow and they suck and if they just updated from what I hear then it definitely is a set back. I've been there too and it's definitely a process. But losing your patience in front of your customer you're making a deal with is not going to fix the problem. I understand sales are low because of inventory and what not I have the same issues at work as well, but putting a salesman in the lobby while getting serviced is one way to pull in sales. But finding a cubicle or building one something to make things a little private for the customer might be best poor old man that was getting helped by this salesman he looked so confused and uncomfortable, this whole process had to be embarrassing. I was embarrassed for him. Personally if I was in his shoes I would have told the sales man thank you but no thank you and would have waited for my car instead of doing business with him. We were poorly treated at the Berge Toyota dealership in Mesa and called the service department at Camelback Toyota and got Michelle who helped us fix my daughter's car. Michelle had the service team double check the work the other dealership said she needed to be sure the correct work was done. We found out that we didn't need what they said at the other place. They fixed ongoing issues that were a result of lack of skill, poor leadership, and poor mechanical skills derived from the other place. On top of that, we save over $100 from having the correct work done. I can't say how thankful I am for Michelle and the ownership she took over the situation to ensure my daughter was safe to drive out of town. Yesterday we were told to go ahead tow the truck somewhere else and bring it back to get the recall part fixed. Umm why not fix the recall since it's at your place now THEN tow it to go get fixed?? Why come up so many more times? Again, we are 7 hours away round trip. I'm wondering if they are stalling for time because the recall part was never ordered. Luckily we did find a wonderful place that will help us. ToyoDoc can fix it for $1,400 and replace everything that was damaged in the crash. Camelback would do a couple small replacement things for $6,000. Which is wild. We finally got a call back from Toyota Corporate late last night to chat about what to do. Guessing Toyota called Camelback and that made them angry or something. Today, Thursday, we have received a text saying now since we are going get the major repair somewhere else that we need to pay an additional $100 per day to store the truck there as well as the $45 a day for the rental car. Pretty much saying that if they don't get 6k from us they might as well get something. Awesome to do to people that had a crash and extensive damage due to a recalled part on our truck causing catastrophic failure. It's already been 6 days. First 3 days were waiting to talk to Brandon and it took an entire day to even look at the truck. Been waiting and waiting and waiting and now it's our responsibility. Of course right? NOTE: To Josh...I've called Katrina three times now and she has not called me back. And if your reading this and base your decision of coming to this dealership off the reviews ask FOR LOUIS AND SERGIO the manager chris as well was very helpful. I had been here twice and my time was ok and some things had gotten mixed up but my salesman Louis was the main reason I continued with buying my car. If you want a good salesman who doesn't feel pressuring and is understanding he portrays that's very well. None of the manipulation and games and pressure you feel when sometimes going into a dealership but it truly felt him helping me was selfless and not for his benefit at a certain point which I really admired. I had called the dealership after a bad experience with a salesman and he assured me 100% it would not be like that and he did not disappoint. This was my first purchase with no co-signer by myself no one with me and it can be intimidating but he didn't make me feel out of place and explained everything and did everything in his power to make me want to buy the car. Sergio as well was very kind and reassuring and helped me look over numbers and stuff. He and Louis actually saw that a previous dealership was basically trying to scam me by looking at the paperwork I showed them from there. I'm glad they were up front and honest and chris sealed the deal with cutting out all the BS and I really appreciated that. Moral of the story ASK FOR LOUIS TO BE YOUR CAR SALESMEN. LOUIS FORD. Although my service advisor was friendly I did not appreciate getting asked to do $1,000+ of extra work on my car when I went in for an oil change. As an example, when I was checking in, the advisor consulted with a mechanic-type person who told me I needed to have my Prius's transmission fluid changed. When I asked "Why isn't this in the maintenance schedule?" He had no answer other than to reply we normally do it every 60k. "How much is it" I asked? $240 the advisor replied. Trusting their judgment as Toyota representatives, I agreed. Later I called Toyota to ask about this, and they told me it is not in the maintenance schedule because Toyota considers the fluid able to last for the life of the vehicle. Expensive lesson learned. I have been to this Toyota dealership about a dozen times over the last 10 years. Everyone here is nice enough and there are certainly a lot of extras available, like a massage chair, coffee, and snacks, if you stay at the dealership, but the service just isn't up to par with other auto repair shops on the neighborhood. Even when I arrive a half hour earlier than my appointment, I still have had to wait over an hour for the shuttle service. Both times I tried to go to work after dropping off my car I have been late for work. The most recent time I ended up taking an uber in frustration. My car had a parasitic drain on the auxiliary battery that my neighbor who works on motorcycles was able to diagnose on his own two years ago but the dealership still insists that my car is in perfect condition despite it leaving me stranded on three occasions due to a dead battery. I don't believe they try hard enough to help you, even when you specificly tell them what the problem is. They rely on the diagnostic computer and don't have actual expertise on how to fix unique issues in cars. Lastly, it's a dealership so they charge the usual high prices for parts and labor. I won't be bringing my car back ever, not even for brownie bites and a massage. read more

I was searching for a hard to find Tundra that no other dealer could locate, but magically this dealership had access to it! They encouraged me to come in and look at the spec sheet so I readily agreed. I cancel everything I have for the day, get there, everything looks good, the truck will have to be shipped and of course there is probably mark up on that but what are you to do trying to buy a Tundra when they are almost out of stock everywhere? I realize it wasn't the best deal possible but I was willing to pay a few grand extra to get the Tundra I wanted before the summertime. We agree on price, I already have financing secured, the sales rep says it'll be a few hours before the paperwork is ready and to go home and he will call later when I can come back to sign. This was around 3pm. I am writing this the NEXT DAY with 0 contact. I called and left messages asking what was going on and still nothing. Finally had to call the main line and ask them to cancel everything because the unprofessionalism is ridiculous. Even if they couldn't get the truck, at least call and tell me - I may have gone with another option. I can guarantee I will be turn away anytime I ever hear Camelback Toyota in the future. Bought a 2022 Chevy Colorado Z71 with 13k miles ..have had to have it in the shop 5 times since Jan 2023. They didn't disclose there was an electrical problem-they supposedly do a pre-owned inspection that missed an electrical problem, the lighters don't work (I need them for forward facing cameras), the advertised "premium stereo system" was taken out or ripped out by previous owner, the stereo and gps system just goes blank sometimes and for some reason fuses blow. They pawned me off on Vans Chev and won't even return a call or email. Andre Morris is rude, can't get a response at all from Ized Farr who Is the highest manager supposedly in the service dept, Bobby Krotonsky was supposed to be who we were going to "finally be taken care of like camelback Toyota treats its customers and family" and he gave some Clint Velez person our info and told me to deal with vans Chevy..I have no relationship with vans Chevy and they haven't been accommodating at all. I was told that the items I mentioned were all fixed last time they had the vehicle for a week...now they need it for another week and I am expected to go without a vehicle when these items should have been fixed already the last 5 xs that it was in the shop. It's highly unfair and camelback Toyota has basically washed their hands of me and won't help me at all. I wish I would have went somewhere else. I thought they had integrity but I was wrong I hope this spares you my experience. Our backup camera doesn't beep when someone is behind you so maybe that and OnStar can't keep connected. We are supposed to have Internet but it doesn't work most the time..The sales people at camelback Toyota just lie to get the sale and omit what they need to for the sale. They pretend they care but don't as soon as you sign. We were told a payment amount and when we were getting ready to sign they increased the payment by $300 a month! We got it down only because we noticed and we're ready to walk away from the deal. This was a horrible experience and I know they don't care so I'm not doing this for them im doing it for you...buyer beware. I even tried to reach out on Facebook and when the person they have responding on Facebook got my name and found out I already bought a vehicle she stopped responding. That we'd receive complimentary seat covers, Toyota made and approved. I stated my ignition key was wore out and not turning the ignition to start the truck anymore. If I give you the vin, can I get a key from you? He said yes!! It will be around $20. I was frustrated because I couldn't get the truck to start. I had to get an Uber about $20 each way. I get there and yes!! The key is $27 but.... I'm sorry sir, the key won't work. You need to get it programmed and that's an extra $300. I was not happy. Ya think maybe you would let someone know that on the phone after he explained the situation? Maybe before they are spending $40 on a round trip Uber to get a key that isn't going to work unless I have the vehicle there and have an extra $300. But that would be customer service wouldn't it? I ended up buying the key and the guy at the counter couldn't care less. I said thank you and he said nothing back. So this "programming" of the key that is $300 at camelback Toyota, took me 2 minutes to do thanks to YouTube. Hahaha $300.
