Enjoyed a truly lovely bday dinner with my husband. The menu features core favorites and they do all of the so so well. I'm a mushroom super fan and the mushroom gnocchi delivered in every way. Scallops were perfectly cooked and the short rib was excellent. Service couldn't have been better. I also really love the size of Cameron's. We did not have the best start to our Mothers Day celebration with a jam-packed lobby, no tables ready for our brunch reservation and a 20 minute delay to be seated. It seemed they were not prepared for how busy they were. Once we sat down, it was smooth sailing from there. Our server was lovely, food was enjoyed, and you cannot leave mad after bananas foster bread pudding with caramel sauce. They also had little gift bags of popcorn to take home, which was a cute touch. If you have a reservation and some patience, this remains a gem in the Cameron Mitchell empire. read more

James and Carl greet people by name and they both are great behind the bar. The walleye is exceptional and my husband alternates between the hamburger and the chicken. Cocktails are their twists on the standards. Only thing I wish they had was a patio but it's easy to hear people talking because the seating is more intimate. This is a diner through and through - a pricey diner with mediocre food. Not sure what the draw to this place is, but there is a faithful clientele. It was quite a mature clientele when we were there. Several walkers left up front. The atmosphere is decidedly not upscale and not divey either - just slightly better than an actual old diner. Sophistication is not a word used to describe this restaurant, but for the prices, it should be. Our waitress, JoLee, was as sweet as could be. The hostesses were very nice as well. When charging four star prices at a diner, four star food is expected. The flatbread was dry and uneventful. We requested a light drizzle of the truffle oil so it would not be overwhelming. The prosciutto and the shaved Parmesan were baked on the bread. Baking Parmesan makes it hard and chewy and the prosciutto oily. This could be improved. The Caesar salad tasted as if it could have been scooped up in the school cafeteria line. Nothing special, but again this is a four star establishment on Yelp so I'm evaluating it accordingly. They do offer half portions of the salads if you choose to dine here. The Walleye fish is mediocre. No flavor whatsoever. The lemon sauce tastes nothing of citrus. If one chooses to order this, ask for lemon wedges. Extra sauce for this dish is not necessary as it only acts as a lubricant to get it down. The green beans are the star of the dish as they are perfectly prepared and are the only item on the plate with flavor. The mashed potatoes are a nice consistency. The Braised Short Ribs are a poor rendition of what one would expect. If the dish was renamed, "Grandma's Pot Roast" then a more reasonable expectation would be met. I opted for green beans and will never be disappointed with that selection. The mashed potatoes again were very nice. If one orders this dish, ask for extra sauce on the side. For truly excellent braised short ribs, the special at Tony's in Houston, Texas would be the goal for which to aim. We opted to try three desserts. The Banana Foster's dessert was the best of the three we ordered. It's far too dense, but the better option. The lemon cheesecake does have lemon flavor, but is a basic cheesecake that was meant to be special and missed the mark. The warm chocolate cake is simply ok. As far as drinks, the Sidecar was far too sweet, the Gin and Tonic was excellent because they had Watershed's Four Peel Gin. Columbus should be so proud of Watershed's distillery - it is truly excellent. The Keoke drink was also excellent. I would give this restaurant a 2.5, but half scores are not an option. Far too expensive for what it is. Go to Lindey's for a far better upscale dining experience for the price. read more

The food at Cameron's is amazing! This is my third time going and I've never had a bad experience. Our server, Mohammad was very attentive and kind. He gave us plenty of space to enjoy our food and was great! The interior is pictured. Tonight I tried the Seared Duck Breast. It was delicious, and I really enjoyed it. My mom had the Scallops which she loved. We enjoyed splitting a bottle of Oberon and Calamari. The soup of the day was Italian Tomato which was very flavorful! Can't wait to go back! read more

I am so happy that I went to Cameron's American Bistro in Linworth and it was Cameron Mitchell's first restaurant. My friend and I had the half Braised Short Rib and half fried chicken each. That was very delicious. The short rib had the mashed potato with special gravy and broccoli while the fried chicken had German Potato Salad and chicken gravy. The dessert was Johnson's Real Vanilla ice cream with chocolate and caramel sauce and sweet pecans was decadent. Joely was our server, and she is very sweet and knowledgeable about the food and dishes she recommended. I would love to have her again as my server. I enjoyed the the ambiance of Cameron's American Bistro. I will be going back to Cameron's soon for dinner. Thank you. read more

Visited Cameron's for the first time this evening and we were very impressed. Immediately walking in the door the greetings were pleasant and the service throughout our dinner was immaculate. I had the scallops and my husband had the duck breast. We both couldn't stop talking about how delicious each bite was. The sourdough bread service with butter and roasted garlic made the experience even better. Though it was a bit pricy, it was worth it for the amazing food and service, and honestly the portions were good! I have been enjoying Camerons for over a decade. Great food, excellent service, and a clean atmosphere. It was truly fine dining. But, this experience is gone. The building is half gone from a fire over a year ago that no one has fixed, you pull up to a mostly abandoned building and what does exist isn't in the best of shape. This really stinks for date night, who wants to plan a romantic date in a dilapidated building. The ascetics of what does exist is dirty, paint peeling and old/run down. But, if you make it past that, and get inside, you see a shell of past times, what was a beautiful experience. The food used to be made with love, now is no longer the case, the quality of the ingredients is poor, a 61.00 steak has the grainy texture of what you would expect from a far less quality piece of meat, the sides were burned and the order was half never delivered. The experience of quality is gone, but the high price of an expectation remains. It's a sad review to post, since this restaurant has been a staple of Columbus fine dining, that is now a slowly failing restaurant that feels like it should be on kitchen nightmares. read more

This is by far the BEST of the Cameron Mitchell restaurants. Food is excellent and the wait staff is superb! It's cozy and inviting, including the bar area. My husband and I were there during restaurant week. He ordered off the special menu, a vegan cabbage soup, the salmon and the crème brûlée. All were amazing. We also had the crab cake appetizer which was our favorite. I had the scallops and the goat cheese salad. Also wonderful! Impressive. I forgot all about this and it has been more than a few years since my last visit. Secured Father's Day brunch for my Dad and the brunch menu was awesome. Mushroom frittata for me, salmon for my husband and my father splurged with French toast and bacon! BOOYAH! Mimosas were excellent. Our server was lovely and so good. I picked this establishment to make it easy on my father. I don't want him to feel pressured going to places that are too worky to get go and this was perfect. Apparently this was Cameron Mitchell first restaurant, according to our server Jen. Atmosphere is classy and pricey. Service was outstanding! The bread with roasted garlic was amazing! Hubby ordered the pea soup as a appetizer which I tasted and it was delicious. I ordered the duck with cherry glaze, sweet potatoes and greens. I've been to Cameron's American Bistro a few times and have never had a complaint- service is always stellar, good food and drinks, nice atmosphere, definitely a good choice for fancier dinner out. But I want to talk about one thing specifically today- the best dessert I've EVER HAD at a restaurant. I didn't want to talk about it for awhile, because I was being selfish and didn't want for word to get out about it, causing a mad rush to go and get it. That's right- I wanted it for myself. But in the spirit of the holidays I've decided to not be a jerk. So here it is- the best dessert ever, which is not chocolate (surprisingly since I thought chocolate was my one true love)- the Meyer MyerLemon Gratin. Gluten free (but my boyfriend agrees this didn't affect the taste at all, and allowed me to eat it), texture like a cheesecake, just the right about of tartness, the crisp cookie crust, yummy fruit compote. I'm drooling thinking about it. Don't judge me if you see me there at a table by myself with several of these dessert on the table. It's that good. read more

This restaurant is quite small, as it's only one room, but it's quite nice! Friendly hosts and servers. The seating is pretty tight and you'll probably overhear your neighbors conversations, but it's still pleasant. We went for dinner during Restaurant Week. Complimentary bread is served with garlic and a cup of whipped butter. The bread was very fresh. Steam was rising as I ripped pieces off. Can't say I loved the garlic, but the butter was fine. For my meal, I started with lamb meatballs. I was pleased with the amount I received! They were soft and light. The cheese and sauce were delicious. I kept scooping up the sauce after I finished. Lol. I then had the fried chicken, which came with potatoes and green beans. The chicken was great! It was tender and the breading wasn't too heavy. I enjoyed the entire dish, but my one complaint was that it's salty! The salt could have been reduced by half and been sufficient. I saved half of the meal so I could make room for the banana foster bread pudding, even though I still couldn't finish the dessert! The ice cream combined with the bread pudding was excellent. Fantastic dessert. I love that they support local business by using Johnson's Real ice cream too. Overall, I had a good experience. I saw the regular menu prices and they're definitely out of my normal price range. I'd recommend dining here during Restaurant Week if you're trying to save some money but still have a high class meal! read more

Can't say enough good things about the food! My husband and I had the crab cake and salads for appetizers - all were delicious. And both of our entrees (pictured) were all phenomenal! Cameron's Walleye was incredible with perfectly cooked green beans, buttery mashed potatoes, and a fantastic cream sauce. We had the chocolate cake for dessert which was delicious and quite rich. They had a great wine selection as well. Overall fantastic dinner! Our server was very kind and attentive. We didn't have to wait too long for any of our food to come out. And the restaurant itself was intimate and had a romantic feel to it. Lower lighting with candles, and music playing. Even though we are in our late 60's the clientele was all signifcantly older than we were. It was sad. The server took a long time to take our dinner order. There was barely any sauce, the vegetables were only very hard brussel sprouts and the fish was dry with no sauce. $48. So disappointing for a Cameron restaurant. I love the small town feel of the bar and bar tenders. The walleye I ordered was extremely fresh and cooked perfectly but lacked any seasoning. We chose to sit at the bar when we saw our two top seemed like a very cramped space. It's the perfect place to unwind with your love after work. We have dined here many times over the past few years to celebrate various birthdays. Tonight, we dined in to celebrate my dad's birthday and unfortunately it was the most disappointing experience we've had so far. The food was good, though it was under seasoned , but the service was incredibly lackluster. We were never marked with fresh or appropriate cutlery, appetizer plates were left on the table throughout the entirety of our meal, and Ivy removed the receipt to check the tip before we had even finished all of our dessert. Though we mentioned we were celebrating my dad's birthday in the reservation note and at the beginning of our dining experience, there was no candle in his dessert even though I noticed multiple other tables received one. Feeling as though our experience did not meet the typical Cameron Mitchell experience and I'm saddened that this was the celebration we had. Certainly not worth the $300+ we spent. read more

We didn't necessarily have a special occasion, but I had a bogo offer emailed to me so date night it was. I made a res via Open Table and there were only later times available for Fri-Sun. I chose 8:45 on Saturday, and the timing was perfect to make it there right after a 6:00 movie at AMC Dublin. We were seated within 5 minutes, then had a great server who took our drink orders, relayed the specials and menu changes, and brought warm bread with butter and roasted garlic. It's so lovely here. The dining room is warm and inviting, and fairly quiet. I love cocktails with sugar around the rim - their Honey Vanilla Side Car was perfect. My husband had a glass of Malbec, and I had a glass of Cabernet with my dinner. We split the calamari - so good, with crispy zucchini slices. My husband had the soup of the day, which was potato leek - I had a bite and it was wonderfully thick and flavorful. He had the Beef Short Ribs as his entree, and I chose Cameron's Walleye. We shared the Warm Chocolate Cake for dessert. This is one of the best restaurants in Columbus and I look forward to the next visit. Note: due to construction on 161 in front of this shopping center, it was a bit hard to find the entrance in the dark, but there was ample parking available in front of the restaurant. read more

I came to Cameron's for my cousins 14th birthday last night. The place was very busy so you could tell that they likely had stable, good food. We were sat at the bar until the rest of our party arrived for our 5pm reservation. I ordered a smoked margarita which was fantastic. My aunt ordered the honey vanilla sidecar, another amazing drink. Their drinks are definitely on the heavier side, so you're getting your moneys worth. We ordered the flatbread and mushroom gnocchi appetizers. The flatbread was amazing and I did not try to gnocchi since I'm not a huge mushroom person. I ordered the scallops for dinner which were pretty good but I wouldn't say a 10/10. But a very solid option. My aunt ordered the mushroom soup and after the entire table raved about it, I decided to try it. Again, I HATE mushrooms but this soup was phenomenal. It had a meatier flavor than an earthy mushroom flavor. Finally we had bread pudding and it was good as well. Would definitely recommend it was a good stable choice.
