    Wagyu burger

Service was great. We had a reservation inside, but after arriving, we did not like the lay out, so opted to try the outside bar instead. Our bartender was so sweet and kind and friendly and talkative, loved her. My poor rating goes to my food. My partner had the lobster roll, and loved it. I had the $40 wagyu burger, and was deeply unimpressed. Sitting at the bar, you can see the cook throwing the frozen patty on the grill. I watched him cook my burger, which came out as an almost grey patty, with a pink center. Reminded me of a Kraft patty. After a few bites, I just was grossed out and stopped eating it all together, it was mushy and just tasted thawed out, did not taste fresh whatsoever. I know they don't have wagyu beef cows in the backyard providing them fresh beef, but a frozen patty for $40 was quite disappointing.

Absolutely amazing experience! The Ocean Terrace has incredible ocean and golf course views, and we were lucky to have perfect weather. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was beautiful and relaxing, and the service was outstanding. Allen, our waiter, was amazing and made our lunch even more enjoyable. Alex from valet was also awesome and provided such friendly, welcoming service. We even got a surprise visit from a hawk, which made the experience extra memorable! Such a gorgeous setting for lunch, and we would absolutely come back. Highly recommend!

Ocean Terrace at the Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay is one of those places that never disappoints. The setting alone is breathtaking -- perched right above the ocean with sweeping coastal views that instantly slow you down. It's the perfect spot to enjoy a drink, light bites, and take in a classic view. The menu is well-curated with fresh, flavorful options that pair beautifully with their cocktails and wine selection. Everything we ordered was thoughtfully prepared and presented, and the service was attentive without feeling intrusive -- exactly what you'd expect from the Ritz-Carlton. Posting updated menu pictures. Whether you're celebrating something special or just want a relaxed coastal experience with impeccable ambiance, Ocean Terrace is always a great choice. Highly recommend for sunset lovers, date nights, or visitors looking for that quintessential Half Moon Bay experience. Note : Only Valet parking provided/ allowed. Fee is $35 You can pay separately or add to your restaurant bill.

Surprised at the low reviews. Stopped here on a whim and was quickly seated with a great view and great service. Food was overpriced, but that was anticipated with the locale. Artichoke soup was very good.

Ocean Terrace is an eatery that sits downstairs at the Ritz Carlton. It is truly an amazing place and we have eaten here many times. The service here is first class, as expected for the Ritz Carlton brand. The food is delicious as are the drinks, although it could be considered expensive depending on your price point.

I'm shocked at the overall reviews. This was a 5 star all the way experience for us. You can't beat the amazing views. Sitting outdoors by the fireplace while overlooking the gorgeous ocean is beyond words. Yes, it's pricey and we expected that. We were celebrating a birthday and they took good care of us. It was also great to see so many dogs on the property. We will definitely be back!

Walked up at 11:50 for lunch today. There were at least 8 tables open near the bar and 15 tables open near the course. The man asked if we were staying in the hotel, when we said no, he said they couldn't get us a table for 30 plus minutes. I looked around at all the empty tables and said goodbye. Why run off a paying customer??? No customer service! Go elswhere

Review for the drinks and the view. Requested the bartender to make a non-alcoholic drink alcoholic and an alcoholic drink wimpy for a lightweight. The bartender did not disappoint. Pretty good fancy drinks. The price reflects the fanciness and the views.

The view at the Ritz-Carlton is unbeatable! With shaded terrace seating around the coastal golf course, the ocean breeze keeps things cool--though don't forget your sunblock! Friendly and attentive servers provide first-class service, and the seafood is fresh and flavorful. Only valet parking is available, so drive directly to the front entrance. They'll even charge your EV while you dine!

Great place to eat lobster roll and clam chowder overlooking the golf course with an ocean view! Service was efficient, friendly and very personable.

Humbled to have had the opportunity to have lunch outdoors on a sunny day at the Ocean Terrace after working here earlier in the day. As one would expect, presentation and service were Ritz-Carlton quality. Choices for lunch are limited but understandable and was disappointed that they do not serve French Fries at the OT since the local fire department will not issue a permit unless you have a fire suppression system for outdoors for the fryer. In any event, a solid 4 Stars for the overall experience.

We stayed at the Ritz for an art auction event (shout out to Park West). We had a couple hours to kill so we decided to grab a quick bite for a late lunch. First off, you should wait to get seated. Some people were just making themselves comfortable in front of the fireplace. We ordered: - Crab and artichoke dip with sourdough instead of chips. Very generous amount of crab however, the dip itself tasted bland. - clam chowder - decent bowl of clam chowder - kids grilled salmon - it was cooked fine but could you use a lemon wedge or some sauce. Chips were good The oyster bar looked good and so did the hot chocolate that many other people were ordering. Service: I asked for fresh ground pepper for the clam chowder, and they just handed me grounded pepper from a different table. Though I understand that it could be a distance to the kitchen, but for the amount that you're paying, they need to add more staff. Our server was nice but the service was extremely slow. My son did didn't get his chocolate milk that came with the kids meal until he was finished with his meal. Obviously the view was amazing, but considering that it was December, it was quite windy and cold and there weren't any heat lamps available near us either. I can imagine a better experience in the spring or summer.

We came here for lunch on a really beautiful Saturday! Service was pretty good/prompt, and the view was absolutely spectacular. The food was pretty average, especially for the price. I got a glass of prosecco while my husband got a beer. We shared the soft pretzel and king salmon poke bowl and both were ok. The pretzel was good, but neither of us liked the mustard on the side. The king salmon poke bowl was very average, definitely wouldn't return for it. Really, the view makes the experience here! When they found out we were celebrating my birthday, they were so kind to bring out a beautiful complementary pumpkin tart dessert which was delicious!

You are allowed to order two items at a time during the 90 minute brunch portion. You then have 30 minutes for the dessert items, though the waiter did say we could order more brunch items during that time too. I maxed out during round 5. Round 1: The MARIN COUNTY CHEESE TASTING and the PAN SEARED SCALLOP. There were three types of cheese on the plate with some fig jam and some raisin bread. Everything was super tasty. Loved the fig jam. The scallop was very nicely cooked. Loved the truffle foam. It was supposedly polenta foam but it was very smooth and not grainy at all. Round 2: CAVATELLI and CHOCOLATE CHIP PANCAKES. I think the pasta was my favorite meal of the day. It had a great truffle and parmesan flavor. Soft pasta. Yum. The pancakes were also delicious. Nice and fluffy with melted chocolate chips. I did hold the ricotta cream from it as I know I don't like it. Round 3: LOBSTER ROLL and WAGYU BEEF SLIDER. The lobster roll was tasty but messy. I don't like caviar so I had that held. The slider was very tasty. The sauce on it was a bit too BBQ-sauce flavor for me but overall not a bad bite. Round 4: I did the ORGANIC MAITAKE MUSHROOM and another scallop. The mushrooms were super flavorful. Loved the crispy rice puffs on them. Round 5: I just did on plate - the BELGIAN WAFFLES. I loved the waffles. Crispy outside, soft inside. Warm apples on top and a big dollop of whipped cream. Yum! Dessert: There were carrot cakes, coconut macaroons, strawberry shortcakes and a chocolate pistachio balls. I only add the carrot cake there and took the rest home for later. The staff was very good. Always taking away empty plates and refilling drinks and water. A splurge of a meal but worth it for good food and service.

Ribeye Steak - 5/5: this actually blew my mind as I was not expecting the steak to be that good. Cooked a perfect medium rare with a perfect char and rendered fat. I chose the garlic herb butter which was good but not really needed. I was so impressed, I actually forgot to take a picture of it before I devoured it. Overall, this was one of my favorite restaurants on the hotel grounds. When you first walk in, it does feel like a sports bar, but not crowded. Their other specialty (other than the burger) is their mushroom sandwich. I also got their homemade potato chips and added a Diet Coke. I waited about 10 minutes for my meal to be served in a paper bag and then decided to sit inside on one of the stools. The burger is served on grilled square shaped sandwich bread and it was very good tasting. It wasn't a traditional burger with the shrooms, cheese, Dad's sauce, cheese, pickled onion and lettuce and fell apart by the time I was halfway thru it. It is definitely a knife and fork sandwich but I still enjoyed it. Also those homemade chips were also very good tasting. They had a (coating) on them and I can see why they are so popular. Yes this is a very good and unique type of place to eat. My only negative was the price. $16.25 for the burger, $5.50 for the potato chips and $3 for the can of Coke. With tax it was $26.65! We ordered the peach burrata, corn bisque, Oysters Rockefeller, steak frites, and mango crème brûlée. The peach burrata and corn bisque were great, and the steak was cooked and prepared really well. I normally don't use sauce on my steaks, but this one felt like it was missing a little something. I would've loved a different sauce or accompaniment to bring everything together. The fries, however, were phenomenal, and the mango crème brûlée was a great way to finish the meal. The Oysters Rockefeller were probably the only real disappointment. They weren't bad, but we've definitely had better elsewhere, so they didn't quite live up to the rest of the meal. For drinks, we started with a dirty martini and the house Manhattan, then asked our server, Daniel, for a recommendation. He suggested the Old Fashioned, and that ended up being the winner of the night! We liked it enough to order a few more. Daniel was attentive, friendly, and provided great service throughout the evening. Between the oceanfront view, live piano, cocktails, food, and service, we had a really enjoyable first experience. Wood Tavern has been my favorite restaurant in Oakland since I first visited nearly twenty years…read moreago. In all that time, it has remained remarkably consistent. I've been here for date nights, holiday dinners, business dinners, and countless meals with friends visiting from out of town. It's one of those rare restaurants that seems to work for just about any occasion. The service is always great, the College Avenue location is hard to beat, and I've always had good luck finding street parking nearby. The ribeye is my personal favorite and what I order more often than not. If you're coming with a group, the cheese and charcuterie plates are a great way to start. The menu is varied enough that there's always something for everyone, and I've never had a bad meal here. I was genuinely sad to hear that they'll be closing at the end of the year. Restaurants with this kind of quality, consistency, and character are increasingly rare. If you've never been, make a point of going while you still can. I'll certainly miss it once they're gone.

This one had some crispy edges and well prepared which was lovely though. $14 warm chocolate buckwheat pudding cake: definitely house made. Definitely very good but definitely a safe choice. Oh yeah..... Such a great experience. Yelp last minute find for Saturday evening last minute…read morereservation. Dined outside on small street side patio. Weather was perfect. California with Asian flair. Food is carefully prepared, creative, fresh, local, and delicious. Loved the sesame pancakes with trout meringue and avocado (my description LOL), yellowfin tuna and rice, and beef dumplings. Absolutely delicious. The desert was pistachio with fresh blueberries and ice cream. One of the best I've ever had. Wine service and list is proper and lots of offering from the great state of California as you would expect. The Poe bubbles was exceptional and paired perfectly. Tea service is a definitely worth enjoying. For the locals, this is amazing. For travelers like us, a golden find. Cheers!

Definitely a family style dinner, order multiple things to try! Made a reservation couple weeks in advance for a week night dinner for 2. Celebrated our anniversary and couldn't be more happy we came to Ethel's Fancy. Service was great, everyone was friendly and explained the menu and process. Helped making some personal recommendations and the food came out quickly. The only dish that came out very slowly was the dessert, we did wait about 25 - 30 minutes just for the softserve, but all other dishes came out in a moderate time. Rouge de Bordeaux Milk Bread, comes with cultured amazake butter and some salt. Comes out super warm, puffy, and soft. Very nice pull and the butter is super decadent. Very great take on a japanese shokupan, we were hesitant at first, but it makes for a good appetizer 5:5 Warm Sesame Pancakes were like those mini sesame mochi pancakes at chinese dim sum, but the texture was slightly airy. The sauce to accompany it was unlike anything i've had, smoked trout, avocado and yuzu. The avocado was not over powering and the cream on top was whipped. Amazing pairing. 5/5 Sashimi of Kanpachi, japanese cucumber salad as the base and dressing with the kanpachi sashimi. I will say this was the weakest dish of the night. While still good, it was a bit too tart, it overpowered the other natural flavors. Fish was still very good, tender and not fishy, but again, over powered but all the tartness in the dish. 3/5 Yellowfin Tuna on sushi rice - this was a great shareable plate of upscale poke. The tuna was great, no fishy taste, perfectly seasoned and the smoked kira had an amazing pop of flavor. Very rich and decadent dish, absolutely loved the harmony of a slight smokey flavor to the nice rich, umami savoriness. 5/5 Crispy Caledonian Prawns - Absolute star of the night. We could not stop talking about these prawns. Big plump prawns, fried perfectly, where the prawn itself was not dry but the shell had a shatteringly crispy exterior definitely slightly coated with a starch to give it a nice crunch. The chili ramp sunomono was a great touch, not spicy at all but added a great touch of flavor that complimented the crispy prawns. Could devour plates of these! 6/5! Sword-Fish Katsu Style - A great take with sword fish, flakey but not overcooked, great thin crispy katsu. Accompanied by kumquat and cauliflower, helps cut down the greasiness. The sauce with it was a buttery tart sauce. This was a lot better where the tartness helped the fried fish. It was like eating a fried fish burger without the buns. I really enjoyed this one. 5/5 Lastly we ordered a softserve with peaches, shokupan croutons and a caramel dressing. We had to wait about 25 minutes just for the small softserve so we were a bit surprised as other dishes came out relatively quickly or in an orderly fashion. It still tasted great as a little small dessert but definitely was surprised by how long it took. 3/5 Overall, we were very happy with our experience at Ethel's and it definitely lives up to the standard it sets. I can't wait for other new dishes to try and come back in the future.

The same place where I once ordered the Dahnu Wrap, one of the stellar dishes written in my previous review before it disappeared into thin air. All the same staff working here were mellow. Incredible Treats by Ping's Raw Foods!…read more I just had to share my experience with Ping's Raw Foods because, honestly, their desserts are next-level! I've been trying to eat healthier, but I still crave something sweet, and Ping's has been a total game-changer for me. First of all, the ice cream is unbelievable. I was so impressed by how creamy and rich it is, especially considering it's all raw and made with natural ingredients. I tried the berry and the date flavor, and both were out of this world--so full of flavor and perfectly sweetened! The granola is another thing I can't get enough of. It's crunchy, flavorful, and just sweet enough without being overwhelming. I love enjoying it every morning with some yogurt, and it's the perfect way to start the day. I also ordered one of the cakes, and wow, it did not disappoint! Incredibly wonderful and full of flavor. I've had vegan raw cakes before, but this was hands down the best I've ever had. And the dessert squares--they're like little bites of heaven! I love having one (or two) after dinner. They're perfectly balanced with just the right mix of textures and flavors, and they totally hit the spot when I need a sweet fix. Honestly, everything I've tried from Ping's Raw Foods has exceeded my expectations. I can't believe how amazing healthy desserts can taste! If you're looking for guilt-free indulgence, these desserts are an absolute must. And..I just found out that Ping's Raw Foods is making some exciting changes!! If you're a fan of their incredible vegan ice cream, granola, cakes, and dessert squares like I am, you'll want to hear this. They're switching things up and moving from wholesale to retail orders now! What does that mean for us? Well, no more waiting for your favorite treats to hit the shelves in stores--you can now order directly from them and pick up your goodies at three different locations on select days. I'm really excited because it means you can get those fresh, raw, and healthy desserts you love on your own schedule. No more hunting down stock in stores or worrying if they've sold out--just place an order and pick it up when it's convenient for you. I don't have all the details yet, but I'm definitely keeping my eye out for more info. If you haven't tried their stuff yet, now's the perfect time to give it a go!
