Mac and cheese with side brisket and pulled pork
    Cindy L.

It is an order at the front then sit down type of brewery. I have to admit the best thing here is still the pulled pork. Everything else is average or below average. 16 dollars for some nachos is absurd! And 14 dollars for a bowl of Mac and cheese is pretty expensive. Their clam chowder was thick creamy and full of clams and potatoes. It was very good. The chili was just okay. Coleslaw was very sweet and was one of those apple coleslaws. I spent 27 dollars on just nachos with some pieces of brisket on top. However I will say when we ordered the side of brisket($7) and pulled pork($6) separately they gave big portions. I would probably just order the meat and clam chowder.

Great place for quick bites and beer! I am sad to learn that they are closing up shop September 30th. The service I experienced was friendly and inviting for someone who doesn't beer drink that often. I got one of their recommended drinks and loved it so much, I got bottles togo. The hot dog was also delicious and my dog enjoyed being able to lay with me in a super chill outdoor seating area.

Short rib ragu special with the peach wheat ale- BOMB!

I had no idea that Half Moon Bay has a cute downtown! We had a fun morning at Lemos Farm and due to Saturday traffic, wanted to eat lunch somewhere close to the 92- this place was perfect! Lots of seating inside and out and a great menu. Only downside is not a lot of toddler food options but our kid didn't care he had fries and pasta. On this perfect Saturday in January, we chose a picnic table outside in the warm sun. We ordered their Sacrilege burger on an English muffin for the husband and their special of short rib ragu with homemade pasta ($26). My oh my was that worth it! I bet it is more spectacular with the cheese on top but I was so happy to eat this comfort meal, I didn't miss the cheese. I washed it down with their peach wheat ale-YUM!! I also ate my husbands fries (it's part of our nuptials agreement) and they were so crispy on the outside with perfect amount of salt and pepper. The service was prompt and friendly and they brought out the pasta as soon as they could so my kid can eat. We were so tired from Lemos otherwise would have stayed for another beer and explore the other local business. I definitely want to return and try their wings, pretzel bites, and sandwiches. A gem in HMB!

So happy to find this place in downtown and try this spot. It was wonderful service, ample seating inside and outside. They have seasonal menus and great craft drinks. Games on and music. The food was really amazing and highly recommend! Will definitely be back when visiting

Our order - nachos, fish tacos, burger & fries

All the stars for this go towards the unique indoor and outdoor ambiance, plus the very friendly owner/server. My husband and I were in the Half Moon Bay area and he wanted something hearty to eat, so we found this place. We went during lunch so the line was a little long, but I don't remember waiting for a long time. The cashier/owner (I think) was also very friendly and helpful with regards to asking to refill napkins and the like. My husband and I aren't big drinkers, so I don't have much to say about the drinks unfortunately, but I do have some stuff to say about the food. The food is why I have 3 stars. I think my husband liked the burger and fries that he got, but I did not really like the fish tacos and nachos that I ordered. The nachos just probably needed to be reheated to be honest - my husband and I decided to eat outside that day when it was a bit chillier, and so naturally the melted nacho cheese cooled down and I personally don't like cold, melted cheese - so I did not finish that side. The fish meat in the fish tacos did not taste very good. They also included some sauces to go with the taco, but I can only use so much sauce to make up for the unpleasant taste in the fish meat. I would be open to trying something else on their menu though, it's unfortuante that the fish taco did not taste great.

Typical bar/taproom environment. Good music which was great. You order at the bar and then find your table. The guy told us up front that there would be a small wait which was appreciated. We decided to go ahead and order. We got the Brussel chips, buffalo chicken tacos and a sacrilege cheese burger with a side of fries. Service and ambiance were fantastic, unfortunately the food didn't follow suit. The bussel chips were a great idea or concept but they are actually fried individual bussel sprout leaves which made eating them quite difficult. You can't stab them with a fork because they break and when you attempt to "scoop" them, they fly off due to how light and airy they were. Super disappointing. The sauce on them was tasty but hours and hours later I kept burping up the oil and taste of these things. I would never order them again and believe it's a waste of money at $12 an order. He ordered a burger and I ordered the buffalo chicken tacos. The burger was probably the only decent food we ate here. And it wasn't even that great, at that. We threw some of the Brussels chips on the burger and that was a tasty invention (also enabled us to actually eat them). The fries that came with the burger were fine and very well seasoned. The buffalo chicken tacos unfortunately were a massive fail. They come LOADED with pico de gallo (why??) and a drizzle of sauce. However the chicken itself was extremely dry and over cooked and had zero flavor. Needed salt in a major way but I couldn't find any! I had a hard time locating the "buffalo" path of these tacos and discovered a very light drizzle of buffalo sauce on the lettuce (under the pico). Needless to say 0/10 will not be back.

Every town needs a little micro brewery craft beer bar! This one is cute and serves fried potatoes. HMB needs a place like this and I'm happy to support. Russian River is server here along with their own brews.

We spent a morning at Poplar Beach, got hungry while there! Looked @yelp to find a lunch spot! Glad we did! Not sure what was going on with the lady missing from the counter? But another lady that happened to be inside said she'll be with you. She did come in and we order, glad we hung around! Food is good!

Came here spontaneously as soon as they opened on Sunday. It was understandably open at that time but it got packed real quick. Most people sat outside because it was such a lovely day. I tried a few beers 1. Russian river pony - not a big fan 2. Saison - not a big fan 3. St Carls salted caramel - just okay to me 4. Lagubitas Brewing - my second fave 5. Firestone Walker anniversary ale - my fave So I got just sample sizes of my listed #4 and #5. My partner ordered the Hazy IPA. To eat, I had the BBQ wings with ranch (so good), fries and my partner had the burger (good. Needed ketchup but my partner doesn't like ketchup). Great customer service. We sat inside to play our fave board game. Such a great spot to do so. Will definitely be back

I've enjoyed Half Moon Bay Brewery often, but this is one of the best places to have beer and some food. I didn't expect them to serve me very good food, but surprisingly their food is good! I got a shrimp sandwich last time, and it was fresh and tasty. It was coated with butter. I got Hawaiian chicken tacos this time. It looked simple when they served it to me, but when I tried it, I was impressed. I'm picky with meat in general, unless it's really good quality. The chicken was really good--no bad taste or smell! Tasted very good and fresh. It's a nice place to hang out with friends as well. That's it. If you enjoyed my review, give me a thumbs up. By the way, the service was nice and the food was ready quickly.

Great beer and great service. Nice small brewery with multiple brews to try. If in HMB I recommend stopping in.

We didn't expect much in this area because we were coming from the somewhat industrial looking side, but decided we wanted to look for a brewery. We googled and ended up trying this place out. Because of the weather, we didn't think there would be anyone else in here and didn't have super high hopes. We were so wrong! When we entered, there was a duo playing live music. They were enjoyable to listen to. There were also quite a few people in there of all ages and seemingly, different walks of life--always a fun thing to see. I ordered a flight and every beer on it was nice and crispy cold--the only way to enjoy beer in my opinion. And the flavors of every one were so impressive. We both love beer and are very impartial to our own local breweries in the town we live in--but coming here made me wish this was in our town! My husband ordered a pint of Sea Wolf and he really enjoyed that. I had the Love Boat on my flight which sounded intriguing to me. It was SO GOOD. It was an ill Ali eery and graham cracker sour. I'm not always a sour lover, but it was the perfect balance. I would say that and the Sea Wolf were my favorites. The gal working, Lauren, was incredibly sweet. We asked for some local suggestions of places she liked for food, drinks, etc. and she was really helpful--gave us lots of great insight. She also chatted with us about her dog and ours...overall just really cool vibes. This will definitely be a go-to spot on all our future visits to the HMB area!

Curious about what the new/old place is like, our three-person family went there for a late breakfast today. Walking up to the front doors, the original inset stained glass remains. Walking in, the cool wood paneling and nautical decor remains in place with a couple of new touches. The fully appointed bar also remains, now with a more streamlined look with subtle lighting changes. We were greeted pleasantly and seated inside the dining room immediately; it was moderately busy and buzzing, not too loud. Our server was quick to our table, menu-knowledgeable and consistent in his attention to us. We had a Denver omelette, a couple of bennies and lemon ricotta pancakes to share. My omelette had particularly fresh and al fresca peppers and onions - wonderful. The lemon ricotta pancakes were sufficiently saturated and fluffy(hard to pull off)and came with fresh cream. The prices were at about the same level as the local competition, which pleasantly surprised us. It appears that the folks who did this breakfast/lunch reboot were shrewd in pricing their dishes. Jetty Wave, a drinks and appetizers adventure(which I heartily recommend as well for different reasons)in the northwestern part of Princeton, is not for the fiscally faint hearted. The only element that makes our experience short of a 5 is that we were not given a farewell when we left, though I was able to find our friendly server and thanked him. In all, the Joanne's legacy is intact - the old carved wood Ketch Joanne sign still hangs inside - literally and figuratively a homage to its legacy while bringing a new energy to this space. We stopped by for lunch on a crisp day, and it completely captured that perfect coastal vibe--think fresh seafood, laid-back atmosphere, and killer views of the boats and water. We started with the calamari, which was hands-down some of the best I've ever had: tender, not rubbery at all, perfectly seasoned and fried, melting in your mouth. The New England-style clam chowder was rich, creamy, with just the right subtle smokiness and balanced seasoning--definitely lives up to Half Moon Bay's chowder reputation. For mains, the Dungeness crab sandwich was the star: generous lumps of sweet local crab, minimal sauce (just how I like it), on toasted sourdough with fries on the side. My partner went with the fish and chips, and the cod was crispy, flaky, and not greasy at all--classic done right. The outdoor patio with fire pits was cozy even in cooler weather, and our server was super friendly, attentive, and full of local recommendations. The place feels welcoming, whether you're a regular from the Coastside or just passing through after a beach walk or harbor stroll. Prices are fair for the fresh, quality ingredients and location--definitely worth it. We've already added it to our list for the next trip to Half Moon Bay. Highly recommend if you're craving solid seafood in a charming harborside setting! 5/5 stars.
