First of all, music in this place is very loud, so it's hard to have a conversation. Secondly, when asked if the beef could be taken off the chalupas for just a bean chalupas choice, we were told there would be a $4 up charge If anything, the price should come down - not up! Our order of nachos was suppose to have the onions and jalapeños taken out, which when brought to table included these items. We asked for the order to be made correct, and when brought back out, the nachos were missing the lettuce and sour cream that was suppose to be included. So, we paid $20 for a plate of chips with beans and chips. Not impressed. read more

We've been coming here since they opened and it keeps getting better! It's a little hidden and you may not see it if you didn't know it's there. The decor and original art inside provided a gorgeous atmosphere. We haven't eaten at the bar yet but there are plenty of big screen tvs if you're interested in watching a game. Daniella is the best waitress and we know to ask for her when we eat there. Definitely recommend trying it out. read more

Fabulous Tex Mex BBQ place in Conroe. I've been here a few times now and so far I've tried the birria tacos (Pistoleros), green enchiladas (Pollo Lucha), brisket fajitas, steak fajitas, scorpion queso, burger and a few others. Everything has been absolutely superb, with one of my all time favs being the Pistoleros. They also have a gigantic margarita that made our whole table laugh when we ordered it. Drinks were strong and delicious. Great decor and fun vibe. Will definitely return. read more

We are Two people who went for a dinner early in the week. Unusually loud music when entering. There were only 3-4 tables of customers. It seemed forever for the server to arrive and 20 minutes to receive one margarita and one cola. The cola was refilled without asking and charged $8. Fajita steak for 1 person $30. Wow! Tonight was the second time I have visited this restaurant and it was as fantastic as the first time. I brought my husband tonight to enjoy some good food and their frozen margaritas. He was beyond impressed. Our waitress was Veronica Azul and she was great! A very pleasant and upbeat waitress that gave my husband and I some great recommendations. I am a former restaurant vet of 24 years...operations, culinary & leadership. I have been to Camilla's a few times and have meant to write a review. Love this place. I wish that it were closer to home (Lake Conroe area). Only a 4 because one visit, asked for a Medium Burger and it was so well done that it crumbled like powder. Otherwise, love the menu, love the food. Service has been excellent, something lacking at a lot of places...especially lakeside. The atmosphere/decor...very fresh and different. I see some reviews complaining about pricing...value is found in more than price point. They send out regularly... free appetizer, BOGO and meal discounts via email and social media. For great food and excellent service in a fresh atmosphere, I find value in my experiences. Plan on trying Sunday Brunch this weekend! Came back to edit...we (we) do not care for the live music. Over the past 6 months I have been going to Camila's for business lunches. The food and drinks have been outstanding and the ambiance is perfect for small business group lunches. My experience yesterday warranted this 5 star review. Patricia as manager and Joey as waitperson were dealing with an unexpected staffing shortage in the kitchen. As a customer this could have made our lunch less than pleasant. I was impressed with Patricia's handling and management of the situation. She combined her pleasant personality and knowledge of the restaurant industry with her listening skills to provide a professional response to the situation that allowed us to continue our meeting. I saw her also talking to other customers and observed a similar professionalism in explaining the delays in meal service and defusing customer frustrations. Joey, as our server ( and the other server, who's name i did not get) were alert to the situation and provided us continued updates along with "chips and drinks". In particular, Joey, as a new employee, was able to calmly and efficiently maintain a professional attitude that assisted us in completing our meal in a timely manner. They truly have shown that they are a team and that "the customer comes first" at Camil's. read more

We have a new delicious place to eat very close by now. It could be described as mouth watering fusion of Mexican and Barbeque. It is very close to I-45 and easy to get to, the hand painted murals add to a wonderful ambiance and our server Julisa was friendly, helpful, and made our dining experience that much more enjoyable. I had friends that had stopped by to visit and sent photos after they left showing the Pistolero's her bf had ordered so we came to join them. After looking at some of the other items and being piqued with interest to try other things, the gf and myself both ordered those as well, he still had some on his plate and they looked too good to resist. Simply said, they were amazing birria tacos bursting with flavor, to try something different I ordered the Tres Bolas as an appetizer although they also brought out a Scorpion Queso to try as well. The Tres Bolas where rice balls stuffed with smoked chicken rolled in a black bean frijole but the star was the mole sauce for dipping. I am not usually a huge mole person but the flavor or their mole sauce was complex and went extremely well with this unusual appetizer...I will get it again. The scorpion Queso was also a hit and I think the gf thought the large bit of avocado hiding under the cheese and pico was something spicy so I secretly got to have all the avocado in ours...hehe...shhhhhh. The prices are a bit higher than your regular Mexican place but lower than any of our favorite area BBQ places. All in all the food was delish, the service wonderful and we all were looking forward to our next visit to try something new! read more
