Fried Sprouts - tossed in buffalo sauce and crumbled blue cheese

Caminito Steakhouse had great service, but the food was not extraordinary. We started with the Fried Sprouts - they were coated in a breading/batter and then deep fried. These were "okay", but the breading was a bit soggy. I ordered the Sirloin with Gorgonzola Butter and Kale. The Sirloin was large, but very veiny. The kale was sautéed with Pork Belly and my favorite part of the meal. My boyfriend ordered the Filet and it was quite undercooked. Later in our dining experience, we overheard another diner send back his steak for being undercooked as well.

We came to Caminito with a party of six for one of my besties' birthdays. We were seated at the big round table in the corner and treated like kings all night long. Our waitress, whose name I sadly don't remember, was personable and friendly and super knowledgeable about the menu. She recommended drinks for us based on our preferences, and even got the bartender to come over and talk about some of his house-made infusions with one of our group who's a mixologist. And the food-- oy, the food. I'll be dreaming about that steak pretty much perpetually until I can make it back there to have it again. Caminito is pricey, definitely a three dollar sign dinner spot, but so, so worth it. Good for a date or any kind of celebration, if you treat yourself to a meal here you will never regret it.

Argentine steakhouse with dim lighting for a relaxed setting for deep conversation. Food was good. Looking forward to coming back for more.

On an absolute whim, the bae and I were headed for sushi upstairs when we saw the adorable outdoor atmosphere this place had to offer. My adhd kicked in, my eyes wandering towards the shiny lights like a magpie, and bam we ended up having date night here. The staff was exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. The small outdoor seating area was intimate and a perfect setting for a date night. I had the steak tip kabobs with rice, I wish I could tell you how they were but I inhaled them instantly. Paired with some red wine, creme brulee for dessert.. Yeah, definitely a fan of this place.

I would do 10 stars but alas, five will have to do. Best steak ever. Great Brussels sprouts. Yummy spinach & artichoke dip. Delicious drinks (loved the elderflower gin& tonic and the smoky marg). Staff were busting their asses to make everything special.

We tried 6 empanadas between us and they were flavorful and fun. I was happily surprised that the three were enough for a meal-I was smiling as I finished them. The spicy chorizo had a noticeable slight pepper to it, the chicken mushroom was fun with bechamel and the beef with cheese and bacon reminded me of a great Philly cheesesteak. The spinach was surprising in its deep flavor and light flaky crust. Definitely worth trying! The kind woman who helped us was pleasant, knowledgeable, and promptly prepared everything. The ambiance is cute with the coffee cups having angel wings. If you are in the area, it's worth stopping by!

I called the restaurant immediately to explain what happened and try to find a solution. The person in charge was not interested in hearing any of it. He kept insisting I had canceled the order, blamed me repeatedly, and refused to move past that point no matter how clearly I explained the situation. He eventually got rude and hung up on me. Yes, he actually hung up. When a restaurant chooses to partner with DoorDash, they take on some responsibility for how delivery problems get handled, particularly on large orders. The right response is not to interrogate and blame the customer while a ready order sits on the counter. There was no attempt to help, no offer to make it right, just defensiveness from start to finish. We ended the night with nothing. A large group of people, no food, and an experience that left us worse off than if we had never ordered at all. If something goes wrong with your order, this is how Che Empanadas will treat you. We will not be ordering from them again, and I would strongly encourage others to think twice before doing so.

Every restaurant has a day here and there where they just don't meet expectations, this was one of them. I did express my disappointment to the main server, who confirmed they were short staffed and apologized. Our main sever and all the gauchos were very good and friendly. The main server was on top of everything, but the gaucho service was extremely slow. My wife and son barely ate much meat due to the slow service. I ate more, but waited and waited for several cuts, which made it to our table not nearly enough. I usually finish off with the Picanha, but after asking specifically for this cut, waiting nearly 30 minutes with my family sitting impatiently, I threw in the towel and flipped my card to red and asked for the check. The steaks and meats that came out were excellent, with maybe 1 cut being a little over cooked. I know we are in a time where finding, hiring and retaining quality employees is challenging, but it's still disappointing when you pay good money for a higher end restaurant and leave disappointed. Will I go back? Of course, it is Texas de Brazil. I have dined at all 5 of their restaurants in NY and Albany is usually good, but this isn't my first disappointment at the Albany location. It makes me second guess making the trek there, versus finding a steakhouse closer to me.

In a nutshell, this spot is decent. I'm not really interested in any kind of gamey meats and don't eat a lot of meat in general, but once in a while is fine. I didn't find the selections to be worthy of asking for seconds or even finishing some of the firsts. Several pieces of different meat options were on the dry side and overall just didn't do it for me. I will say that the single slice of filet mignon that I had was excellent. The salad bar is the star here. Oddly enough, one of my favorite things was the pineapple carpaccio - thinly sliced pineapple in what seemed to be a brown sugar syrup situation. They had a lovely smoked salmon and so many other salads to choose from that it was almost overwhelming. The spot that I went to in the past had sushi grade raw salmon and I was hoping to find that here (as mentioned, it was smoked). Our friends that really enjoy meat options noticed that several different choices were never offered to our table. Overall not bad...but it wasn't my favorite and quite sure I won't rush back any time soon.

We walked into a space that is more takeout oriented in scale, but warm and comfortable enough to sit and eat without feeling out of place. The menu runs over twenty varieties of empanada on a given day, and the range is wide enough that building a mixed order across a few different fillings was the natural and obvious way to go. The classic beef is a reliable anchor and the short rib version elevates that same foundation with a richer, more layered filling. We tried the chicken mushroom, one of the more distinctive options on the menu, and it was worth ordering for something that departs from the expected. The spicy chorizo paired well with the chimichurri sauce, which is worth asking for if it does not come automatically. The La Che is another strong option if you want to try the house specialty alongside a more classic pick. One thing worth knowing is that some varieties sell out earlier in the day, so arriving with a bit of flexibility in your order in case a specific filling is gone is a smart approach. The staff were friendly and helped guide us through the menu when we hesitated. The empanadas themselves came out hot and crisp, with fillings that felt generous and well seasoned. For an empanada stop in Newton that delivers on variety and quality, Che Empanada is worth seeking out. We would come back for the short rib and the spicy chorizo, and we would plan to arrive earlier to catch the full selection.
