Hello to the best place around. We arrived during the lunch hour, very busy, waited about 25 minutes for a table, and worth the wait. The service was amazing, the food was delicious, and the whole experience was wonderful. I loved the atmosphere there. Everyone was friendly and attentive to all our needs. I was very happy with our waitress, as I tend to drink a lot of water, and she was always right there to fill my glass when it was empty. After we finished our lunch, we went into your gift shop. Oh, my goodness, there were so many awesome things to choose from. I purchased an adorable calico kitty stuffed animal. She was so soft and huggable. Sadly, somewhere between there and home, I lost her. I went on your website to purchase another one to replace it and could not order from the website. that was the ONLY downfall I found with this place. Beware of location/directions! This restaurant is in Seaside.. or is it??? It shares a zip code with Seaside but you will drive a very long and windy road to get to this restaurant and it was like an hour aways from the Seaside that we know to be by the sea. The food was ok, the service was friendly and the restaurant was a big, cozy cabin. If you are driving by, cool, go in. But if you are near Seaside by the sea, then double check your distance before making the trek to this restaurant for mediocre food. read more

We love Camp 18! Everything we've ordered had been yummy, satiating and just all around solid. The service is always friendly, albeit slow sometimes. But, maybe that's good! What's the hurry!? The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. The log cabin ambiance reminds me of what it must have been like back in the logging days. I love the building. Solid, elegant and homey, at the same time. The Hot Beef Sandwich was served with zucchini and sweet potato fries (at my request). Down home delicious! My husband's streak was cook a perfect medium and flavorful. The rudest girl on check in ever. I was blown away but her lack of professionalism. I was with my child and to be treated in that way was shocking. After being treated so poorly - I'm not American so perhaps she doesn't like foreigners - I left after waiting for my table for 20 minutes because I decided after much thought that no where merited my business after such treatment and waiting another 3" minutes wasn't worth it. No one loves to prepare a Thanksgiving feast, so, when we saw that Camp 18 in downtown Elsie, Oregon was offering a Thanksgiving buffet with all the trimmings in that beautiful and wide-open yet cozy log cabin, Count me in! We made our table reservation months ago and all 6 of us are so glad we did! The humongous tray of white and dark turkey was tasty, moist and juicy. I smothered mine in a river of gravy while sided with cranberry and savory dressing. The generous slab of yummy roast beef was tender, flavorful and prepared perfectly. Our attentive table attendant took care of our drinks, cleared our plates and encouraged us to go back for more delights including the pumpkin pie and Marrion berry cobbler! I dont get the 3.5 star rating. Its a busy restaurant in the middle of nowhere. Youre going to have to wait during rush hours. You have to go up to the cashier and ask to put your party in the queue if there is a line. The food is delicious and decently priced. Their is lots to look at and explore while you wait all over their lot. They even have a riber in the back and some nice places to take romantic photos. There's a few things I'll mention in this review. The cabin and restaurant itself is stunning. It's a gorgeous stop if you like the cabin vibe. There's a lot to see and enjoy if you like learning or viewing history. The food is where it gets choppy. I got the BLT, I know it's pretty basic but generally restaurants tend to make them better. This one was not it. It had one lettuce piece that was brown and rotten edged. It had one tomato in the center so a half slice of tomato per side. There were 3 pieces of bacon, one which was burnt and old. And the mayo had turned into some kind of rubbery slime texture. Overall not good at all! There was also a hair in my sandwich so I did not finish it. The staff was mediocre, they seem like they don't want to be there and are in general just sick of tourists or people. The waitress was nice enough but the lady at the "stump" was rude. She was snarky and made sure you knew how she felt. Get a job somewhere else. On the plus side there is cute cats roaming which is always a plus. Overall , if you absolutely need to stop I would. If you can make elsewhere that's what I suggest. read more

This would allow them to better utilize their larger tables for groups and families. Reading other reviews, I had a feeling the food might be bland, and unfortunately, my experience confirmed it. I ordered the house special kielbasa skillet, and while the presentation was appealing, the dish was disappointingly warm and lacked any real flavor. It's as if the ingredients--the kielbasa, potatoes, and vegetables--were simply warmed together without any spices or seasoning. This suggests a pattern of dishes being made quickly and without attention to taste, a consistent complaint I've seen in other reviews. Limiting my review to just the cinnamon roll, which is the whole reason that I come here. It's AMAZING. It's absolutely massive, gooey, and warm. Cost is $10, which is good value considering it can feed a family of 4. Ambiance also is really nice. Always on our stop between the coast and Portland. Got a drip coffee but the price seemed a bit steep at $4.50. That said, we'll be back for that delicious cinnamon roll. read more

Have been here a few times in my life lol and well, it just never gets old! The Oregon history of the logging industry is captured beautifully and should never ever be forgotten- in my opinion.... The wait was not long, service was excellent, very busy but the young people working there were friendly and efficient. My French dip was good but the beef broth was tasteless! They offered me another cup but it was exactly the same. I couldn't finish it. Plus our server was like a robot. No smile or asking how we were nor how or food was . I usually tip good if I get good service but I have as much as she gave in our service. I'll not be going back. Came in 14 minutes to closing, sat at the front for about 6 minutes then the server sat us with a passive statement about how they were trying to figure out if they were still open or not because they close in 2 minutes. Ugh no you close in 8 minutes I have a watch? Also why is there open sign on still if they didn't want to continue to seat people not only was the open sign on but there was another sign out front of the door hand written also said open? Felt super rushed and still left before the family there eating when we got there. The salad and onion rings were the best. Server had no knowledge of spirits behind the bar. The potatoes were undercooked; got a few that were browned, but most were under cooked. The biscuit was good, a little dense, but not dry. The service was fast and friendly. Ew. I don't know what was nastier, the state of the bathrooms or the waitress's attitude. The food was bland, the bathrooms were disgustingly grimey, the waitress was slow and kept condescendingly calling me "hun." Don't get me wrong, sometimes "hun/honey/sweetie" can be incredibly endearing, but the snide look on her face and her tone made her intent clear- it wasn't friendly. She also kept complaining about the kitchen staff. I assumed I was just overthinking, so I put a smile on, brushed this off and didn't say anything. As we were walking out, my boyfriend commented about how unprofessional she was too though! I paid $12 for a soggy piece of toast and some bacon. This letter was sent to Camp 18 via "snail mail." I did not receive a response and sent requests via Facebook Messenger asking for a response to the letter. None was forthcoming. My last message asked for a reply, or I would put this letter on Yelp. Again, no reply. Here is the letter I sent: Camp 18 Gift Shop & Restaurant 42362 Highway 26 Seaside, OR 97138 ATTN: General Manager/Owner July 21, 2024 Today my wife and I arrived at your property at about 10:15 AM. We were seated within about 5-8 minutes. Our server met us soon after and brought us water. We were ready to order at that time and placed our order for chicken fried steak with eggs over easy and a kielbasa skillet with side order of sausage gravy. We also asked for a cinnamon roll "to go." My wife had water to drink while I had coffee. We watched people come into the restaurant after us, getting served their food while we waited for ours. One group of four people walked in at the same time we did. They were done with their meal and were at the cash register even before we had our food. At about 11:25 AM my wife was in the restroom and I was writing a note saying we were leaving and I was going to leave $10.00 for my cup of coffee. As my wife was walking back to the table, I was finishing up my note and our food arrived. I previously noticed our server was having difficulty with a large group at a table, apparently sorting out their bills, so I elected not to say anything at that time. Our server only said; "Sorry about the wait." She never came back to check on our breakfast, or offer my wife any more water. My chicken fried steak was hard and tough, appearing burnt. I could hit it with a fork and the fork bounced off. The easy over eggs were hard. The gravy was only warm. I did finally something hot, the potatoes under the chicken fried steak. My wife's skillet suffered from similar issues. The scrambled eggs on her skillet were dried out and hard. It appeared our breakfast had been sitting under some form of heat for quite some time, waiting to be picked up. We gave up and only ate about 1/3 of our meals. My protein was not really edible. When our server finally did come back and saw we were not eating she asked how our breakfast was? My wife had already advised me not to say what I thought. Her reply, after a delay was, an "OK" where her tone let you knew it wasn't really OK. Our server's response was she was sorry, and asked if she could bring us anything else. My wife said, no, that we were ready to leave. Our server completely forgot the cinnamon roll to go. We were ready to leave and did not mention it again. We had a long drive to get home. We decided to eat day old "Taco Bell" burritos and tacos on the way home instead of taking our leftovers with us. From our receipt: Table #33.1. Server 10001/AM Cash. Check#1338. Bill total $46.75. I left a $5.00 tip only because the cashier was watching me fill out the document. We have been to Camp 18 numerous times in the past when visiting my family on Hwy 26, just outside of Seaside. It has always been a treat for us. This time it was most definitely not the treat we had waited for. I don't intend to publish a poor review over one bad visit to Camp 18. Not actually in Seaside, it's 18 miles (thus the name) up the highway towards Portland. If you've already left the coast and don't want to wait till you get to Hillsboro, which is a long drive, to eat, this is your only choice. And it's not a bad choice. It's a huge lodge-like restaurant with a basic American menu. You have the option of a starch side with your entree, and it also comes unannounced with vegetable, which in this case was green beans with a lot of bacon in them, quite delicious. So was my entree, which was breaded trout. Service was a little iffy. The waitress who seated me and took my order was competent but age had slowed down her response time and speed of comprehension. However, another younger and brisker waitress also showed up and took care of other things for me. read more
