In the beginning the idea of a restaurant with good food, good drinks and an even better social aspect with of course no camp counselors and no rules was attractive and I felt like hmm, I can vibe to this. My first night there and immediately I noticed that the service outdoors was extremely slow and the drinks seemed watered down. The atmosphere inside was chaotic, music so loud I could barely hear myself think of where the restrooms were located (back of the room), wait staff and bartenders all unable to coordinate effectively so that every customer was taken care of or at the least even noticed. It was like the ultimate failure of a Diner Dash video game. My second night involved us having to leave five minutes into sitting down outdoors because of customers next to us who were too busy smoking blunts and blowing smoke. No thank you, I'd rather not inhale weed smoke while I wait for my meal, which with the slow service, by the time I got it I'd probably be coming into semi-high. So with all of this said, and sadly experienced I leave you with a question.. how bad do you want to ruin your Friday evening, because the cheap food, cheap service and cheap liquor and disrespectful patrons will definitely help to make that happen. So when you walk in, you'll notice that it really does look like a campground in the middle of the city. I was very surprised on how packed it was. It's not easy to find a parking spot but they're pretty good on scheduling people so you would probably only wait one or two minutes on a parking spot. The menu is all three dollars and fifty cents. What's cool is it that you can add another slider for $1.25. You can double the protein for another dollar per slider. My first time here I tried the chicken Parmesan sliders and it blew my mind. I loved the marinara. The best mini chicken permaseanso far. The rest I had are soggy. I tried the season wife cut butterflies because it reminded me of for Chick-fil-A Waffle fries Which I really love. However these were not as great. I think this evening overcooked the price. My favorite part so far is the shoestring spud fries. I have also tried their chili on my spot I did not like it at all. It tasted more like retried beans beans. I didn't have that chili essence. Today is my third visit and I am going to try eggplant Parmesan slider with the Cajun chicken bites Shoe string Spud fries. After the meal: I finished both the Eggplant park sliders and the Cajun chicken bites dipped in barbecue sauce. The offer to tops it in the buffalo sauce for an extra dollar but what was described is that the batter is already spicy. I always dip my nuggets in barbecue sauce anyways. I'm stuffed. Conclusion: whatever you want to order it. It's Saturday 4th of July. I decided to order the Chicken Parmesan slider and Original Beef and Cheese Sliders to go for my Netflix Zombie killing bing. Update: After my fifth visit I'm pleased to say that everything on the menu is fantastic. You can order anything you want for a great affordable price. I'm torn on this one. My roommates & I decided to eat there a few days ago. We wanted to take advantage of the outdoor setup for our first time back out in the real world for dinner. There were no visibly open tables when we arrived but we were still seated at our RSVP time. From there it was a struggle. It took a full hour to receive our meals; which were all basically finger foods. Several of the items were not warm. The taste wasn't horrible but it also wasn't stellar. I'm honestly hoping that it was all chalked up to newly reopening & getting a feel for the new way of doing things. I LOVE this place. I moved to Memphis last year and have been craving the Buffalo Chicken Sliders since I left. Finally, my kid and I took a road trip to RI to visit family and had to make Camp a definite checklist destination. The food, service and staff are just as good as ever! The Buffalo sliders and Loaded Waffle Fries were so good. My daughter feasted on the S'mores and Deep Fried OREOs! Doesn't get much better. 3 of us ate dinner and I only spent $35! Even with all the COVID concerns, Camp Nowhere has it going on. The outdoor dining, quick service, great food and music to boot. I head back to Memphis at the end of the week. Cheap and Effective Been to spot a few times. The place is was it is. Sounds cliche, but it's true. They serve cheap beers and drinks and 3 dollar sliders and sides. This was my first time here and my husbands second time. It has the vibe of a sports bar but the decorating is a little eclectic. They offer 3 types of dining services you can sit out side with umbrellas, or you can sit in a tent style set up which offers a big screen tv for watching sports. You can also sit inside the actual establishment. You kind of get the vibe you are at a camp or at least in the wilderness by animals that are placed around the restaurant. The prices are great if your in the mood for pub or finger foods. Your not coming here if you want a sit down dinner. They offer certain mixed drinks in a 96oz fishbowl not a bad offer for $25. It is meant for 4 people. The drinks in this looked great but with it being two of us that would have been too much for us. I did have the watermelon Rita and my husband had another cocktail. I really like this place, I've been here twice already. I've even told a few friends about it. The decor of the place matches the name of the restaurant. If you've ever been to camp as a child then this place will give you nostalgia. First off, most everything on the menu is $3. No it's not a deal of the day, happy hour or only on Wednesdays. This is the price everyday from the time they open until they close. Now people with that being said, please don't come here expecting filet mignon, lobster or a gourmet pasta dish. You get what you pay for and the theme is camp. So the menu consists of sliders, a foot long weiner, nachos, tacos, fries, etc. I've had their beef and cheese slider, the big mac slider, the weiner, and nachos. I loved them all but the big mac sliders were my favorite. The waitstaff are extremely chill, attentive, friendly and charismatic they deserve an additional 5 stars. When I went yesterday, the bartender was working the place alone. Every time he came to our table he apologized for any delay and explained another server was on their way but he was alone until then. He did such an excellent job serving the entire place on his own, taking care of every customer and never looked annoyed that I didn't realize someone else was supposed to be working the shift with him. I can see the appeal of this place. It's a great spot for college kids. It's packed, serves cheap beer, and basic bar food. Everything is fried and selection is limited. It stays packed and noisy so it would be a great place to socialize. But I'm done with my college days so I'll pay another buck or two for a beer that comes with good food. SIX THUMBS UP! My wife and I visited with our 3-year-old TWICE in the past two weeks. The first trip was a wonderful dining experience for the summer. We sat outside and ate at the umbrella-covered benches. We both ordered the Steak sliders first trip, with two drinks. The prices are so ridiculously low and well worth it. I'd GLADLY pay more for this scrumptious food. Our second visit was even more of a blast. I ordered the Chicken slider and my wife ordered the Barbecue Chicken slider. We ordered some drinks to compliment the absolute delicious meal and we have officially become regulars. We have now committed ourselves to stop in at least once a week when we're in town. HOMETOWN BLUES? Normally I never give kudos to anything in my dump of a townie hometown of North Providence, but I take major exception about this place. It has the vibe down, the drinks down, the food down and you'll find out more if you read further... DRINKS They have a short list of things on tap as well as signature cocktails, but this concise list will still make you want to take a drink and drink some more. Definitely worth going with a few friends, on a casual date, or with a small party of partiers for a fun time. Cocktails are named with amusing beachy names and some are on the sweet side for me, so I skipped it this time and opted for beer. Drinks come quickly and that is the point- when I arrive and order from the bar, I wants me a drink!! Thank you for being quick on that. FOOD The reason it got 4 stars instead of 5 was the nacho debacle. We ordered sliders and nachos did not come out first and even came out several minutes after our sliders came. I'd like to say it was worth the wait but... no, skip those nachos, not good, not worth it. BUT (and this is a BIG ole butt...) The sliders are THE sh** . Yes, they are. I am in love with these sliders and wish I had a slide from their window to mine at home to just slide those over to my house in my face. We had 4 different slider combinations to split between us (my boyfriend and me) and from chicken to beef made many different ways it was sooooo good. The grill flavor is yum. My only caveat, and this is ever so slight is that I wish they were cooked medium, not well, but it's a slider so that's difficult to do. My boyfriend could not stop talking about the buns- they look homemade or baked fresh nearby, not sure, but they are great. All the condiment combos, etc. are really well done and made everything yummy. ATMOSPHERE First, parking is super easy and it's easy to find. Can't miss the outside because it looks like a campground cabin with a big sign. Outdoor seating looks cool even though it's close to the street, but tbh that could be part of the fun in the spring and summer. We went recently in winter, so no outdoors. Walking in you seat yourself or belly up to the bar- take your choice. There is a mix of people there which was actually surprising and by mix I mean dudes hanging out, women with their girlfriends, families (this was a big jarring to see little kids in here) and some old dude at the bar...so basically everyone and anyone was in there. It has an energetic vibe but somehow manages to be laid back. The servers wear t-shirts that poke fun at tv shows using the Camp Nowhere name. Somehow they narrowly escaped the hipster d-bag vibe, but they did and they should definitely focus on keeping it as such because it's better that way. Stay Campy Camp Nowhere, stay campy. Yes, the drinks are a bit too sugary and the food can be a bit too salty at times but the price is unbeatable, but the selection of drinks and food are impressive at that price point. I had this place bookmarked for a while and tonight my fiancé and I did not feel like cooking and sliders sounded great. First this place really went all out with their theme! The place looks great and all of their decor makes sense. Second we love that their prices are AFFORDABLE! All their food's base price is $3! We got the beef and cheese sliders, the rodeo sliders, and the short rib sliders. All three were great. Burgers were cooked great and a good quality of beef. The BBQ sauce on the short rib and rodeo sliders was great. We also got the mozzarella sticks which I thought were great because the cheese was actually melted inside! Few places do you see that anymore. We got chili cheese fries too which I loved their cheese sauce. Then for dessert I got the fried Twinkie because I could not resist and it did not disappoint. I'd also like to note that they have a craft beer selection on tap and that is also $3 a pint which is unheard of! So nice to go out and not over pay for things! This place really sticks to their theme! It's pretty cute and all but it's very dark inside and also really SMELLED like camp the day I went- aka more like a porta potty. The music was also country music, which could be fine if it wasn't incessantly playing the same 7 songs. We actually ended up moving outside due to all of these things, which they couldn't care less about- which was good for us I guess. Servers were few and far between but we really came here for the fishbowl drinks and we were satisfied enough with that. They were cheap and tasted accordingly, definitely not strong but what can you expect at that price. Tried three of the sliders, hated them all. Will try different food next time but will return for the fishbowls. The bathroom is also cool. read more
