We've been here multiple times before. I've always had decent experiences. The food is typically good with decent service. Today we were sat and pretty much ignored for five minutes. We put in our drink orders (four waters) and ignored for a little while longer. We put in our food orders, and my kids wanted broccoli. My thought was they could share a side if it was large, but she said they were on the smaller side. They weren't, they were huge, and $5 each because I didn't realize a side didn't come with the kids meal, and it wasn't explained. My husband got veal parm, which he said was good, yet difficult to cut with a butter knife. I got eggplant parm, which was mediocre at best. Most Italian restaurants, for whatever reason, like to put a gloopy pile of macaroni on the plate with a spoonful of sauce on top with nothing mixed together. With the eggplant, they not only did this, but also put eggplant on top of that. You can't cut unpeeled eggplant on a soft surface, so the macaroni was decimated until I had enough room to pull it out from under the eggplant. We were sat in a corner booth, I slammed my elbow into the unforgiving marble window sill twice, there was a crazy cold draft, and I was getting sick over the stench of fabric softener coming in from God knows where. This is one of our top 10 Italian food spots in Cranston to just go have a casual dinner that is always great! It's family owned and tastes like your grandmas kitchen . The fresh bread with their signature honey butter is to start n the BEST!! Then I had the eggplant parm over ziti and like usual better than the rest! Great size portions too. Including a big side salad with a light oil vinegar balsamic dressing I love. My husband had the sausage n meatballs n said excellent ! The restaurant has had the same stuff forever which tells you a lot about who they are ! Great clean n always a great casual atmosphere! Never a longer than 10 min wait . One star only because of the company I was with. Went for dinner, four of us. Salads to begin, pizza and pasta dishes for entree. We were there for two hours. We were ignored to the point where I need to yell to have to waitress come over. She literally walked away as one of our guests were asking for another beverage. Absolutely awful. Six tables came in after us & left before us. I won't be back - with mediocre food and terrible service, why bother I've had this same server before and I should have known .. she's miserable. We have had a reservation for over a month for seven people tonight. This was a special occasion with friends we haven't seen in years. We arrived at the new location to find it closed with a sign on the door claiming a gas leak. Nobody called us to let us know. This place was a family favorite when I lived in West Bay, it was sold a year ago and it is NOT the same place. I waited for 12 minutes on hold to place an order. I arrived still on hold and was told the phone was not in order. So why have it available for messages. When I complained I was tag teamed by two nasty waitresses that proceeded to dress me down for my attitude. I'm not a Karen . But this experience could turn me into one. I ordered a pepperoni and cheese pizza and it was very good. The crust was crispy, sauce had great flavor, and pizza was cooked well done. They serve Greek style pizza and I would highly suggest a side of marinara sauce to dip your pizza crust in! Yummmm! The service was decent, I placed a to-go order and there wasn't a wow factor but not horrible service. The restaurant is always clean and is a great family style pizza/pasta restaurant. The parking lot is very tight. They are closed Sunday & Monday which is a bummer. Being closed on a Monday isn't a big deal but Sunday sucks considering most people have it off. read more

I used to go here all the time for their chicken Parm sandwiches. They were excellent! I went back today after 5 years and got two half ones for 12 bucks each, and boy was I disappointed! The quality and care that went into it was on the level of a fast food joint and that's complementing the fast food joint. I have enjoyed both the food and the service at Campanella's for years. I've always their homemade bread & honey butter as well as their menu of pasta dishes, pizzas & calzones. Tried this for the first time today and was very disappointed. The server was nice but messed up on a few of our items and was not attentive to our table. Before Campanella's was sold, we would order pizza from them once a week. Food was always terrific! However, we ordered a pizza under the new ownership this week, and it was dreadfully disappointing. When I placed the order, I was told it would take 1 hour. That's fine, they were obviously busy. We ordered the Pizza Nicholas and it had absolutely no flavor. We ended up throwing most of it away. This was my second lunch time visit to Campanella's, and I was blown away, again, by their fresh, tasty, delightful home cooked Italian food choices. I love that all of their bread options are freshly baked on premise! I thoroughly enjoyed a very large and tasty calzone on multigrain calzone bread. The inside was bursting with flavor and included roasted red peppers, rabe, and Italian sausage. It was so very delicious. It was so large, I took half home for another meal. Wow! This is the freshest & most delicious food I have ever had in Rhode Island! We ordered the whole wheat chicken artichoke pizza and it was grilled to perfection. Crispy crust with fresh tomatoes layered on the bottom. Probably the best pizza I have ever had! The garlic breadsticks are phenomenal with the yummiest red dipping sauce. The chicken penne was amazing and even the accompanying side garden salad was phenomenal! Service was superb and the whole staff was super welcoming! This is a special spot where you can feel the owners love & care about providing exceptionally fresh food with great service. Hard to find these days. Well done Campanella family. I've been coming here for years and for the restaurant not being as packed, I'm very surprised by the lack of service! And she had the nerve to charge a 20% "large party tip" (there were only six of us, and we didn't even order that much), and than ask for an additional tip on top of that. I ordered a grilled crispy this pizza. It was COLD, not CRISPY. And I called them back and they told me to bring it back to heat it up. I asked for a credit and the OWNER Sabrina said we don't do credits. She was rude , obnoxious and ignorant . She said it was piping hot out of the oven. I was 5 minutes away and it was COLD. Her attitude was terrible. The problem is that they are so busy that they don't CARE !!! I don't recommend this place to anyone especially if you're Italian and know what good pizza should be like. I've been coming to Campanella's for years and it's never let me down. The food is consistently fresh, made well and delicious. Regardless when you come in, everyone is friendly. You're greeted with a smile, your server is always friendly and even the other patrons are very friendly. The food as I mentioned earlier is always fresh and delicious. If I'm doing take out, it's difficult which pizza I want to order so I'll end up ordering two because I can't decide, and they're usually different from previous times just so I can try the. The portions are large therefore you'll always have plenty for left overs when you're hungry again. Prices are very reasonable and you don't have to wait too long for your food once it's ordered. It's a popular place so it can get packed fast, but trust me, it's worth it. read more

We have been here many times and loved it. Tonight we met friends for dinner. I have a green and red pepper allergy. I have always been able to order one of the their regular dishes without roasted red peppers. Tonight the dish came with a few small pieces of red pepper. I had eaten some of the dish before I saw the peppers. I explained to the waitress, that the cook could have put someone in the hospital. She apologized and took the dish away. Amazing salad dressing here so ordered a Greek salad with grilled chicken. Got two very small tenderloin pieces. Also only 4 kalamata olives in the entire salad. Pricey for the product. First time there. Service has TERRIBLE. We waited to be seated , we waited for drinks , we waited for dinner. My calzone was so burnt you couldn't even cut it ( not her fault ) The waitress asked if we wanted Parmesan cheese for the pasta dinner we ordered , but we never got it . She never came back to see if everything was ok , and never refilled our water. When she finally did come back, after we were all DONE eating, she asked if we wanted more water ( water glasses were empty the whole dinner) I asked if I could please get water , another napkin ( I had to pick my calzone up with my hands since it was too hard / burnt to cut ) , takeout containers and the bill.( I wanted to get everything because I wasn't sure when she would come back !! ) and she gave me attitude! Stopped by for lunch on a weekday, I had called in and the food was ready quickly. It took me a few minutes to realize why my chicken parmesan sandwich wasn't tasting like it should, then I realized I was eating a piece of plain (white) cooked chicken breast (not breaded) with sauce and cheese. Last week I was in Rhode Island for a meet in providence, so checked out the local scene on here to see my options. Everything in providence seemed wack so I ubered my way 10 min south to Cranston. A very local and chill Italian spot in Cranston. Known by most of the city, this place is known for its homemade calzones. I decided this time to get the lasagna because I was starving and needed to carb load for my weight lifting event at brown university. As soon as I walked in: I sat myself, the feel of the place is family, relaxing and super welcoming. On the right when you walk in there's a bunch of awards and they even sell Campanella's swag which is cool. The drinks: got a Stella off the tap and switched over to water. I kinda felt like the bartender was my mom, super nice woman who was quick to serve me. Her name was Kim. The bread was then given to me along with their famous honey butter. I then got the lasagna, a giant piece made in house with ricotta, cheddar, and mozzarella. The sauce, home made meatballs, sausage put it all together. It was honestly the craziest, most amazing piece of lasagna I've ever had. Will be going back!!! Place is incredible. read more
