The tomato sauce was great on mine too, not too "acidic" as tomato sauces usually are. The staff's attitude could be improved a bit though --they seemed indifferent and somewhat annoyed. I had never heard of Campania, but thanks to Yelp I had one of the best pizzas in my life! So good, so unique. I often don't like meals with prosciutto as it over powers but whatever they did it was a fantastic balance of flavor. I'll definitely be back to try more next time I'm in the area. read more

Three strikes...not for us. We have tried this neighborhood place for the third time over two years and it was equally a bad experience each time. I ordered the caprese salad for an appetizer...the chef should be embarrassed. it was one roma tomato in four slices about the size of a half dollar with a slice of mozzarella, a tiny scrap of basil, no olive oil. i wish i had taken a photo. it was a joke of a salad fit $15. My gluten free pizza looked like a frozen pizza out of a box. Was awful in comparison to Minnie Olivia and Crust who gave outstanding gluten free pizza. My husbands chicken parm was not very good. We will not get back. Needs a lot of work. Service was not great either. read more

I came back recently on a date. And honestly it's the service that will either make or break your experience. The gentleman who was over my table was just perfect. He kept our beers coming and the food was really great. I think they do have some amazing pizza and decent beer selection. I really wish more places around here would be open later, until around 11 or 12pm. It really sucks to get up and leave to give my business to Taco Mac right next door but it is what it is. We decided to try out a small local neighborhood restaurant and found this on the yelp search. Small and imitate. We started with vitello alla fattoria which are veal meatball (a good 3-3.5 inch diameter, had 3) covered in tomato sauce served with bread. They were very tender they cut with a fork like butter. The tomato sauce was on the tart. Ravioli alla bolognese was very al dente. The meat tasted similar to the veal meatballs with the same tomato sauce. Campania makes a fabulous Napoli-style pizza. I am a Neapolitan-American ,so I have eaten my share on both sides of the Atlantic.This place is so much better than the Naples -style place in the Avalon. My reason for writing this review is to encourage a few small additions to the menu. My wife and I are lacto-vegetarians.I hope the owner will consider offring us more choices. For example, it is odd that Campania does not offer the ever popular Eggplant Parmigiana ! So rare to not find this on an Italian menu. Another common item would be a Panini with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella and either basil,or a touch of pesto. A Caprese sandwich like this is so popular. In summary, we will continue to go to Campania,however, we would go more often if they made the menu more vegetarian friendly.The fastest growing food chain in Georgia is full-blown Vegan ! read more

Our second time at Campania's new location at the Etowah mill in Canton. We went to the soft opening when they only had pizza and gelato. The pizza was great, but the service could have been more stellar. I understand it's a soft opening, so I give them the benefit. We returned two weeks after opening, and the food quality, service, cleanliness, and price will prevent us from returning. We were told that the fryer was down, and they were out of 2 of the entrees. The server greeted us, and it took 10 minutes to get drinks and place our order. The place may have had seven tables to serve. We ordered the Dante Panini, Italian sausage, caramelized onions, provolone, and basil. It came with a side, and we ordered a Caesar salad. Was told it's a $2 upcharge. When the order came, the panini was ground sausage tossed with provolone and onions for $17. The onions were not caramelized, and there was no basil. The description needs to state ground sausage. We thought it would be sliced sausage topped with slices of provolone topped with caramelized onions and basil. The salad was a handful of brown romaine lettuce with large parmesan shavings and a smear of balsamic on the side. It's hardly worth a $2 upcharge. The servers were walking around with nothing to do when the door to the patio was covered with fingers and handprints. The atmosphere was flat, and there was no energy from the place. It's such a disappointment as I was looking for a great new pizza place, which unfortunately this won't be it. read more

Make a reservation if you come on the weekend. There aren't many tables and the bar is small. Was told it would be a 35 minute wait (without making a reservation) we waited exactly one hour. Eaten here a handful of times. Tonight I got take out with my family. We ordered the margarita pizza and boscaiola pasta dish. The pizzas are fab! The mozzarella tastes fresh and the sauce is rich. I adore the boscaiola dish! If you like pasta and mushrooms most definitely would recommend :) I always ask for extra sauce because I'm a big sauce person. The sauce is a creamy white sauce with truffle oil and I will warn you it's very cheesy and rich. The portion size is huge It's easily enough for 2-3 meals. The service is prompt and professional. This is my second trip to the Alpharetta location. I prefer it over the Crabapple location. Other than the wait staff wearing masks and hand sanitizer at the hostess station, there were no COVID restrictions. I appreciate restaurants more when they provide social distance seating. However the food is so good. My Tortellini Alfredo with shrimp was so good and the serving size was just perfect. My DIL ordered the Margherita pizza, and my son, the Sofia pizza. Both were very impressed and loved their pizzas. These two are foodies so any compliment is rated above those of us without sophisticated palettes. The Black & White cake was a melt in your mouth orgy. So decadent and delicious, yet not heavy at all. Son said his New York cheesecake was one of the better ones he's had. Quality pizza OTP, if you know where to look you can find it. Campania is one of those gems you can find in the suburbs. Located in Alpharetta not too far from the business center of the city. Popular with the working class and also the locals, Campania is the place to be to have a beer, watch the game and relax while eating some classic Italian pies. The décor of the restaurant is dark with hardwood panels surround the interior. There is a full bar at the front and plenty of options in terms of seating with booths and separate tables. Sort of looks like speakeasy. They cook the pizza pretty much in front of you. The stone fire oven is visible to all guests as it sits in front besides the bar. The menu is mostly pizza. They do have some other dishes but pizza is their bread and butter. If you're thirsty there are tons of drinks to pick from. Pizza here is outstanding. You have options in terms of toppings and even the type of tomato sauce that is being used. All ingredients definitely feel fresh. The flavor is savory and the crust has just the right amount of crunch to it. Depending on your appetite you could either get a whole pie for yourself or share it if you want. The size is fulfilling for the most part. Overall, great atmosphere and and food. What more can you ask for? Definitely worth the stop if you're in the area. Picked up a margherita DOP pizza and was so disappointed. When I checked out online it said my pizza would be ready in 30 mins. Well, 5 mins later my order was ready for pickup which I thought was weird but what do I know since I'm not a pizza maker. Picked it up about 10 mins after it was ready as I live a mile away and my pizza was ice cold. So disappointing. Makes me wonder if they had it just laying around since it was ready so quickly. We were in the area at the outdoor skating rink and all of the restaurants at the Avalon were too busy, so we looked this place up and figured "what the heck, it's only 2 miles further. Let's go!" I'm truly glad we did. I live in Duluth but will absolutely make the trek out here again. The meatballs were some of the most melt in your mouth deliciousness I've had in a while and the pizza was to die for. My kid, who always likes the idea of pizza but not the reality of it (eats less than a slice before giving up) ate 2 slices, even the crust and ate it for lunch the next day! Great job guys! If you love artichokes I'm telling you - you must get their Carciofo Salad. Best salad ever. Pizza is great too (and perfect sharing size for 2 ppl). Beautiful white tile pizza oven. Service is super friendly. I've gone twice during lunch and it does get packed. CARCIOFO SALAD - $9 Mixed greens, Italian artichoke hearts, lemon, olive oil, sea salt and shaved parmigiano. Thanks to our server for recommending the salad - I asked for her favorite and she said the Carciofo. I've always loved artichokes but this salad set a new bar - these artichokes are marinated, apparently Italian, and there were lots of them in this salad. Oh they were so yummy. Funny though b/c if you don't look closely they look like big chicken pieces :) Portion was huge so either share w/ someone (assuming you order pizza too) or order an an entree. I'm definitely ordering this again. SPICY CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP - $4 (cup) Soup of the day had a nice kick w/ chili oil served on the side. Lots of chunky onions, carrots, pasta stars and chicken - just had a spoon of it but tasted good and would be great for cold weather. TARTUFO PIZZA - $16 Fior-di-Latte mozzarella, fontina, pancetta, mushrooms (sadly the button kind), garlic (lots of it - yum but watch out breath!) and finished w/ fresh rosemary and truffle oil. Good but not a favorite - maybe expectations were too high based on Yelp reviews and server's recommendation. Pizza crust and bottom were pretty charred in some parts - our server said next time we can ask for "lightly charred". Still enjoyed it. CAPRICCIOSA - $15 Pomodoro, parma cotto (ham), Fior di-Latte mozzarella, mushrooms, Italian artichoke hearts & Kalamata olives (salty). Good but again, not a fan of the char. My boyfriend and I decided to try somewhere different and since we were at the Avalon, downtown Alpharetta was just too close to pass up. I looked on Yelp and we decided on this restaurant based on reviews. Campania is an authentic Neapolitan pizza restaurant, and Neapolitan is my favorite type of pizza. We were not disappointed. We decided to sit at the bar, and the bartender greeted us right away. We had a good visual of the handmade brick oven where all the pizzas were being baked. The wine list was Italian and French wines, and I'm unfamiliar with them so I chose a Chardonnay type of wine. She was kind enough to let us both have a taste before ordering a glass. The wine actually was really really good. We were starved so we decided to order an appetizer. We chose the Rosetta, a pizza dough bread with olive oil and parmigiano reggiano. I ordered a side of red sauce to go with it but it didn't really need it. For the pizza, we decided on the special which was a white pizza with roasted red peppers, artichokes, spinach, feta, fontina, and drizzled with balsamic glaze. The pizza was absolutely delicious and I could not stop eating it. In fact we both said we could order another large and polish it off. It was seriously that good. The crust was so soft and warm and the pizza was just the right amount where you did not feel disgustingly full when you finished. We still wanted more so we decided on the homemade tiramisu which came in a big martini glass. It was really good and the espresso flavor with the marscapone was perfect. Met up with a friend here Wednesday night for an awesome meal. The atmosphere, food, service, and company (of course) was seriously GREAT. The Georgia Bulldog cocktail was to die for. It consisted of vanilla vodka, Bailey's, and Coke. Food wise, I was proud of myself for having the stomach for a three course meal. To start off with, we shared the peperoni e mozzarella. The base was a bed of mozzarella cheese with red peppers atop it. Simple but so good. We couldn't understand why a spoon was provided... Um. I am still confused. Lol. We decided to share the vitello polpetta pizza (?) which was recommended by our waiter. There were three categories to choose from: red, white, or gluten free. The recommendation was definitely good. It was supposed to be spicy, but I only had a few bits where the spiciness was noticeable. The dough was not the typical heavy dough that would fill your stomach in a bad way. It was super light and didn't leave you feeling stuffed in a bad way. The pizza was of course baked in a brick oven. Yum. Apparently there was only one pizza size. I think it's about 13 inches or comparable to a medium size. We were definitely stuffed so the proportion was just about right. I didn't get our waiter's name, but he was an older gentleman who used to own his own pizza place so he was super knowledgeable and kept giving us recommendations since we were so lost as to what to get. He also had a great accent as well. He made pronouncing the menu items a breeze. He was overall very friendly and such a warm persona as we had a personal conversation with him aside from talk about food and drinks. Anyway... For dessert, the house made tiramisu did not disappoint as it was also recommended. This was the first item we saw, and we were glad the recommendation was this so it made our choice so much easier. :) From hearing about this place as a pizza joint, I thought it was super chill and casual. Something like in a bar scene. We were here around 7 PM, and there was a relaxing and yet romantic vibe in the air. I mean. The candle light was a nice added touch.
